[This is c&p'ed from Brunks thread]

All -

JN here.

I've read and turned over this thread, and I hear and appreciate the words. I'm not going to spar with anyone, and I have no defenses up - I'm walking out into the street with my hands open. If I get hit with a brick . . .

So, I want to say here and now, that I HEAR YOU. I hear ALL of you. This is the act of me hearing you. I would like to move forward. I'm glad that everyone is so passionate about the league - if you didn't care, you'd move on, so thanks for the input.

In any rate, I'll keep this quick and will put up more stuff soon, but I asked Katz to reopen the NFW boards. I think they're up now.

As I attempted to do before this explosion, I am stepping forward as the central Prez of NFW for the time being. Katz has stepped back and I am stepping up. Newfrontierwrestling@yahoo was Katz' email, but you can send everything my way atjamar.nicholas[at]gmail.com. Not Katz. Not Gregg. Send it to me.

Anyone that is still interested in participating in this league can shoot me an email and I'll add you to my email list that I'm going to generate. I'll still be on the boards, but there may be an email component as well.

In the very near future, I'd like to have a few NFW Hangouts on G+ so we can connect and get the ship righted. I still believe there is a ship and it's going to happen.

I would love to get back to business from here. I'm not trying to silence anyone - if you have more to say, that's fine, but please give me the chance to start putting out the fires -- it would help if we could stop throwing gasoline on the house. It is my intent to get back to this "Quarter" of NFW television shortly. Hopefully you'll join me.

Thanks guys. I understand that a lot of you haven't really worked with me before - so I am going to try my best to make myself as available as I can. I can't mindread, so if there's something going on, just hit me up as we go forward.

If you want to get with me off-board, Email is best for me now, (Even better than PMs - I hate PMs) and I'm not always logged into AIM, so let's start there.

I think I've said more than enough. Heh.

But I want to say -- I'm very happy that you're doing this. If you need any sort of help or support from me, you've got it.

I've participated in this hobby a whopping year and a half now, which of course pales in comparison to the 5/10/20+ year veterans we have on this site. I've always tried to keep a relatively low-profile when these dramatic flare-ups occur out of deference to those who have been around longer, but I feel like I've been around enough where I can put forward some thoughts and ideas without the FWC community responding with a "who the hell is this guy?". So here we go.

I have participated in 5 feds in total, some more than others, in FWC since I started. All that's missing at this point, really, is DEFIANCE (which I've been thinking about joining for a while), and jOlt (which I've thought about off and on too). I like doing this stuff. It's a chance to do some real exercise on a hobby I've grown to love, which is creative writing in general. And I like to think, wherever I've gone, I've only had positive experiences and good interactions with the other writers who use this site. I can't recall a time where someone has ever come out personally to attack me, my characters or my writing style, and I do my best to avoid contributing to that as well. I'm not under some false impression that I'm the best-writer-and-also-best-human on the site, because that's far from true on both counts; however, my policy has always been "say yes to people's ideas, because this is a hobby and the whole point is to see ideas through even if they crash and burn", and "treat people with respect".

Somewhere along the way, NFW forgot those two points. They say familiarity breeds contempt, and maybe it's because people have been working together for such an extended period that they have grown frustrated when their ideas don't line up; maybe it's a matter of people saying "my ideas are better than your ideas and you are stupid for disagreeing with me and going with your idea". It's honestly probably a little of both, not to mention the fact that we talk to each other in "OOC" moments, and personalities clash. Shit happens, sure - but there's just so much passive-aggressive bullshit that gets posted from EVERYBODY saying "I told x person he's an asshole" or "people in the past no-sold my gimmick so fuck you" or "my guy isn't getting put over the right way and that makes me grumpy", and it's DUMB. When you fight, gentlemen, be PRODUCTIVE about it. Stop the shit-slinging. Articulate in respectful ways what your concerns are and be prepared with solutions. All I keep seeing is middle fingers raised in the air, and it makes me palm my face so hard.

I want to keep doing this. I like the roads Ocho has been able to travel, it's nice to hear that people generally seem to like the character, and I'm always open to criticism and feedback to make my writing better. But guys - and I mean this at EVERY level - take your egos out of this. I've had more people come up to me and say "man it's a bummer that 'your big moment' happened to open the card", but to be totally honest, I give less than one fuck about that. I don't care about fictional honorariums bestowed upon fictional wrestlers in a fictional wrestling federation amongst a group of creative writers - all I want to do is have some fun and become a better writer.

TL;DR? Talk to each other like adults. Stop having a hard-on about everything that involves your own writing. Play nicely with others. Collaborate. That's the only way this is going to be a worthwhile endeavor going forward.

Well put, Brusch.

The drama and the potshots need to go. Constructive criticism is great, but taking shots at people over and over and over again is pointless. I think hitting reset and moving forward might clear things up a bit. Get out from under this fucking cloud that's hanging around. We just need to get back to business.

Also, I think a few NFW Chats would be supremely worthwhile.

Excited to see you taking the reins, JN, and any forward movement at this point is a good thing.

What do you guys want from me, too?

I'm all ears.

My comments were directed at literally everyone, which by definition would include you.

Now Greg(g), I haven't had a chance to talk to you one-on-one. I'd like to be able to do that.

We chatted! And it was a good time.

JN, perhaps we could talk sometime too?
