RumorMILL 07/8/10
First day on the job, and it's a scorcher. Literally- it's 100 degrees in New York and I'm sweating bullets as I type this. Where's Brandon Mueller with a cold one when you need it?
The rumor mill's heating up, so let's get down to it:
-JTP's gonna be at Reloaded 2 (you knew that), but there's gonna be big news concerning not only the NFW World Heavyweight Title, but also it's PURE counterpart (betcha didn't know that). OK, maybe not a shocker, but try this one on for size...
-Reports tell me that Castor Strife has a surprise opponent close (I said close!) to being lined up for Reloaded 3, and if my sources are correct, it's a familiar face. They tell me it's somebody who's stock has risen over the past year and will be Strife's first real test since winning the belt. Rumor also has it, he's got an axe to grind against the snuff film scion. Does that mean it's not Rich Mahogany? Sources within Castor V. Strife Productions seem to think the match has fallen through. NFW's front office has not confirmed this. Does that mean it's gonna be Rich vs. JTP at a later date? Also unknown, but I'm hearing it's a strong possibility. Speaking of surprises...
-...another one might be showing up at Reloaded 2. I don't know when, or how, but they tell me it's someone familiar. Lots of familiarity going around at Reloaded, eh?
-High Flyer vs. Brock Alyas is close to being signed for Reloaded 3. It'll be a Reel-to-Reel Strap match for the right to challenge the Television Champion (the presumption is it will be Castor Strife, but that could change on the very same night if aforementioned rumored challenger is indeed a lock).
-Months ago, rumors were swirling around that CSWA legend Hornet may be sticking around NFW for a tour or two. Obviously, this has not come to fruition. Today, my sources tell me NFW is still interested in the possibility, but negotiations have been stagnant for a while.
-Strong possibility of a new tag team entering the scene, and very soon.
-BIG NEWS for all you collectors out there. Word out of NFW films is that the company will be putting out DVD reissues of classic events that were, until now, only available on VHS. Previously, the inaugural Crash (that's Crash 1, kiddies) was the only classic era event made available on disc. The new reissues will include Crash 2-25, as well as Season 1 Wild Card matches. Also on tap are the very rare, highly sought episodes of NFW Impact, all three to be exact. While this may sadden a few eBay merchants peddling bootleg versions, the majority of fans will no doubt be pleased. The DVDs will feature chapters...CHAPTERS I SAY!
And to show you the RumorMILL isn't pulling your chain, I've gotten my hands on three classic events you can check out online...WITH CHAPTERS! This includes an episode of Impact, as well as Crash 3, aka Random Rumble 2000, where the inaugural NFW World Heavyweight Championship was won. Enjoy.
