A Dose of EPW

It's a quick shot of what's been going on in EPW, compiled by yours truly thanks to Mike Stanton. (Who ever thought I'd say those words?!)

The Champ

Everyone's favorite Blue-Eyed Bandit, Sean Stevens has managed to stay atop the Empire the entire year, since taking over the title at UNLEASHED in December 2008. At Wrestleverse III, "Triple X" retained the World Championship by fending off both JA and Rocko Daymon in a triple threat including two former champions. After that match, JA retired from the sport and Daymon has been stuck in a slump ever since.

The Contender

Marcus Westscott won the right to be called the #1 contender, defeating former champ Anarky with some help from Craig Miles and Ice Tre. While defending his top spot and defeating Jared Wells, the champ decided to make a house call, leaving Westscott laying in a brutal attack.

After once again proving he deserved to be the top contender by defeating Cameron Cruise, Westscott called in his chip, demanding a roofed steel cage match against Stevens at Russian Roulette. That match ended in yet another Stevens victory, and in retirement for the contender Westscott.

The Stable Wars

The heels have ganged up to try and take their 'rightful' spot at the top. Making it known that Empire Pro is their playground, the massive force of Cameron Cruise, Shawn Hart, Jared Wells and Larry Tact created a group known as Anthology, wreaking havoc and winning titles. Their momentum picked up as Cruise captured the Intercontinental Title with help from his newly-reveal stablemate Copycat.

The World Champion was targeted, leading to an unlikely tag match where Stevens joined The First against Copycat and Cruise. When Shawn Hart made a mistake and cost the Anthology team the match, he was hung out to dry in a match against the First. When he quit Anthology, he was brutally 'exited' from the group. But Sean Edmunds was on hand to take his spot.

Realizing that Anthology would take them out one by one, a new stable was formed. HOPE was created when the First, Layne Winters, Anarky and former Anthology member Shawn Hart joined up. Their first order of business was having Hart take the IC title from Cruise.

But the one missing player? The World Champion. Sean Stevens made his allegiance known recently, joining Anthology and kicking Cruise out of the group. After Anthology team members Tact and Edmunds lost to the First and Fusenhoff in a recent tag team main event, Stevens led Anthology in leaving First laying.

The Future

AGGRESSION 49, coming soon, gives The First a chance at revenge against Anthology member Jared Wells. John Doe takes on Aran Dishon. A five man Scramble for a shot at the IC Title gives Anthology a hope at a chance to take the title away from Hart. The stable war continues with HOPE's Anarky and Shawn Hart taking on Sean Stevens and Larry Tact in the Main Event.

All that leading up to the celebration that is AGGRESSION 50.
