East Resigns Semifinalists, EPW World Champion

After several weeks on tenuous negotiations, three NFW personalities will return for the second season and compete in the Eastern Conference. EPW World Champion Lindsay Troy, former CSWA World Champion Dan Ryan and last year's NFW North Random Rumble winner, Kazuo Shizaki join a cast of (f)wrestling's elite in their own quests to capture the sport's greatest prize - The Ultratitle.

As we all know, Kazuo Shizaki is no stranger to the FZM Council of Elders, however, it was widely known following the season that Kazuo Shizaki wasn't jumping at the bit to re-sign with New Frontier Wrestling. Shizaki had been quoted in disgust with his match against Michael Manson in the Conference Semifinals, as well as the immoral, hardly honorable season he had to endure.

Yet, the competitor in Shizaki as well as his high-standing with the Council of Elders lured him back into a web he hopes to break through upon his return to New Frontier Wrestling. 'The Black Rose' did not comment at the press conference, but many observers watched him make a face of disgust during Dan Ryan's announcment. Furthermore, its no secret that Shizaki will have no qualms about challenging last season's Ultratitle Champion, Michael Manson.

Shizaki struck a hefty deal that will pay him more money tham a good portion of the league if he can advance far in the playoffs. A $900,000 pro-reated regular season contract could garner upwards of $750,000 in bonuses if he represents the Eastern Conference in the Ultratitle Championship.

Meanwhile, on the heels of a landmark (yet controversial) victory at EPW's Russian Roulette over Beast to win the World Championship, Lindsay Troy quite possibly upped her bargaining chips making negotiations tougher.

'The Queen of the Ring' is one of the premier female athletes in the world, as well as a highly successful and popular wrestling in the fWo. Also, a veteran of A1E, Troy had spent most her time on the (f)wrestling circuit as a manager to Joey Melton and Dan Ryan.

However, all that changed once she removed the mask of 'Dis,' after winning the EPW World Championship. What that did change into was a $850,000 pro-rated regular season contract with a roster bonus of $350,000 if Ms. Troy reaches the playoffs. Interestingly, Troy will only earn $100,000 in playoff bonuses if she does not advance to the Ultratitle Championship. However, if she does win the Ultratitle, she stands to make upwards of $1M in bonus money.

One gigantic roadblock that looks to stand in her way is none other than 'The Ego Buster' Dan Ryan. One of the most successful wrestlers on the (f)wreslting circuit of 2004, the world watched as Dan Ryan reshaped the CSWA World Championship picture, built Empire Pro Wrestling (EPW) and recently shocked America when he joined World's Finest Wrestling.

Not to mention that if it weren't for Dan Ryan's hatred of Joey Melton, one could say he might've challenged Michael Manson instead of Shane Southern in the finals, due to the fact that Ryan has a proven track record against Southern.

However, Dan Ryan was disqualified after Powerbombing Joey Melton on the floor, but not finished as he also cost Kazuo Shizaki a chance at the Ultratitle.

Ryan landed one of the highest contracts for the season, a lower bracket than the $2M contracts of Shane Southern and Michael Manson, but the first $1.5M regular season contract signed. If 'The Ego Buster' can claim the Ultratitle, he stands the chance of netting another $750,000 in bonus money.

Whatever the case may be, all three should play prominent roles in the Eastern Conference and also know the Japenese wrestling environment very well. Obviously, Shizaki being a native, but Troy and Ryan have also trained extensively in Japan. The deceased child of Dan Ryan actually beared by a Japanese woman.
