East Conference Announces Initial Season 2 Signings
The Council of Elders from FZM didn't waste time in showing not only the world, but some of NFW's neighbors in the states that they don't intend to let anyone down in their inaugural season.
Quentin Sullivan is logging more miles than usual, but by the way the President smiled Saturday evening in Tokyo, you wouldn't have noticed it. Sullivan confirmed the returns of Michael Manson and Jonathan Marx to the ring of the Eastern Conference, then formally announced what had been rumoured in the last few weeks -- Shane Southern would be landing in the Land of the Rising Sun on the heels of Calvin Carlton folding the South amidst Joey Melton's decision not to return to the NFW South.
Southern wasted no time penning the contract once Michael Manson had formally signed to compete, but as usual these days, left the country without talking to the press.
With 3 of the 4 Season One Final 4 locked up, the Elders looked nearby as well as the (f)wrestling circuit to find 3 more well-known, and certainly heralded names.
With an honorable showing at Wrestlebowl, Maggot was given an offer to join the NFW East - his past successes in Japan probably a clincher in the deal. Maggot, primarily known in the states for his MBE glory days, actually began his career in Japan and could be a strong crowd favorite once the season begins.
After this announcement, the next two signings announced by Quentin Sullivan surely had the press estimating that Susano-O-No-Mikoto, head of the Tokyo Partnership, had not in the least resolved his legendary rivalry with Michael Manson.
'The Boy Who Destroyed the World' Felix Red was announced first, one of Manson's many rivals from World's Finest Wrestling, where Red currently is a finalist in the Presidential race. Red deemed one of 2004's breakout stars, has never competed under the NFW banner, but certainly is not a stranger to who will be his division rivals. Certainly, not Marx nor Manson.
Someone that has competed under the NFW banner did return, and frankly, the loud buzz in the press room didn't stop for minutes after the announcement.
A former Ultratitle champion, AAWC World Heavyweight Champion and quite possibly one of the most evil minds in wrestling will make his return to the ring.
That's right, the master of the White Trash Wipeout - Doctor Silver. The legendary superstar, ironically, has been linked romantically to Ryoko O-No-Mikoto...that's right, the GRANDAUGHTER of the head of the Council of Elders.
Manson and Silver are also no stranger from their rivalry in World's Finest Wrestling as well. Time will only tell if the Eastern Conference can handle all these personalities and egos without backlash.
Quentin Sullivan closed the proceedings with a few hints towards what else was in the works with the East, including a statement that there will still more returning NFW wrestlers that would be announced this coming week once the contracts were worked out.
