East Cruising for some Payne!

Neither are strangers to each other, neither are strangers to the New Frontier, and if history has showed us one thing with Cameron Cruise and Jason Payne - it's that alot of wrestlers will be needing bruises and pills.

The "Crippler" and 1/2 of the iconic "Dogs of War" were signed to NFW East contracts, ironically the first time the two had been in the same building ever since Jason Payne showed up late last year with an attack on Cameron Cruise for no apparent reason.

Jason Payne is best remembered for his courage against ex-tag team partner Chris McMillan as he overcame a serious in-ring neck injury to secure a win in a Dog Collar match. Soon after, Payne went on the proverbial IR - only to return near the end of his rehab with attacks on the aforementioned Cruise and Steel Viper.

The Basham-Schultz Wrestling Academy legend has agreed to a $500,000 pro-rated contract with the East Conference, as well as a potential $250,000 in bonus money should Payne prove he's back from his injury and be able to compete in the playoffs.

Payne issued a heartfel acceptance and embrace with President Quentin Sullivan, overjoyed to be given this kind of opportunity after nearly losing the ability to wrestle ever again, just one year ago.

Certainly, we all know that might be the only good side we see in Jason Payne for the rest of the year as now everything will turn to business for him...and a focus on the Ultratitle Trophy.

Meanwhile, Cameron Cruise inked his name on a $750,000 contract to be pro-rated over the season, as well as the same potential bonus money of Payne. However, Cruise probably had ulterior motives for the signing as there's no question there's more than a few scores for Cruise to settle with the East Conference now that his wife isn't under any "contractual obligations" as he sarcastically remarked during his acceptance speech.

Cruise advanced past the Wild Card round last season losing to Jonathan Marx in the Divisional Round. Cruise noted that besides settling a few scores with the likes of Michael Manson and Beau Michaels "if he has the tits to show up," the namesake of the Cameron Cruise Project also stated that his primary goals are to "improve my performance in the playoffs and hopefully walk away with the trophy."

Cruise remarked that he was really looking forward to competing for the FZM in Tokyo, as well as "all the great fans of Japan who know the real thing when they see it. I hope I can prove that, if anything, I'm the real deal."

Cruise and Payne are the seventh and eighth competitors to sign under the NFW East banner, Quentin Sullivan hinted the maximum roster during the season would probably be 16, but most likely will be around 12 or 13 to start.
