West Ready for Primetime?
If the NFW Western Conference wasn't starting to feel like the War of the Worlds, the two landmark contracts signed today certainly could justify it. Today, Seymour Almasy and Angelo Deville inked their names to compete in NFW's Season Two under the West banner.
For those unfamiliar with the wildly popular Primetime Central (PTC), 'The Final Fantasy' Seymour Almasy and 'The Crimson Angel' Angelo Deville are widely considered the two top superstars on that wrestling circuit.
Almasy, most recently named 2004 Co-PTC wrestler of the year, and Deville, the GTT3(256 man tounament) winner in 2002 signifies New Frontier's push to expand its boundaries over any circuit platform in the sport.
Known as "The Devil's Don," Deville has competed in such landmark federations as PRIME, RPW, OSE, as well as dominated the now defunct WEEF. Deville also held several World Titles around the circuit, just recently overcame fellow newly signed Brandon Youngblood in PRIME, and earned the honor of becoming the inaugural WO/PTC Universal Champion a couple of years ago.
Quentin Sullivan disclosed the contract for Deville, which will net him $850,000 prorated over the regular season. Furthermore, Deville can add $500,000 to that, if he advances to the finals.
Meanwhile, Seymour Almasy may be one of the smallest wrestlers (175 lbs.) competing today, but that doesn't mean the West Conference isn't dealing with another championship calibre athlete.
As mentioned, Almasy secured co-winner's honors on the PTC WOTY vote for the 2004, he's also a former PTC Global Champion, as well as the winner of their inaugural Cruiserweight Tournament Champion. He's looking to add to that collection plate in the newly formed PTC Tag Division.
Currently, Almasy competes in the ACW, where he holds two titles: The Television Championship and Scorpion Fighting Championship.
Many fans will primarily know Almasy from his success in the UWF, where he still competes. A dozen title reigns, one of them the longest as World Champion. Obviously, what Almasy doesn't have in size, he can make up in the skills department.
Almasy signed a $1M regular season contract that will be pro-rated accordingly, while he'll have an opportunity to make $500,000 in bonuses if he qualifies and advances during the Ultratitle Playoffs.
Furthermore, rumour has it that ESEN TV officials are hoping to secure a television programming deal with 'The Final Fantasy,' in hopes of producing either a show geared towards the gaming nation, or a Diary/Reality type show that can be marketed to Almasy's huge popularity in Asia.
With these two signings, only four contracts are left open for business in the Western Conference. Quentin Sullivan promised that there will be at least three more press conferences this week. Two dedicated to any further contract signings, and one outlining the Preseason and Regular Season Western Conference Schedule.
