Lots of NAPW news
Complete Control II is in the books, here are the quick results.
-REBEL Pro Wrestling's C.A.B.S. won the Battle Royale to claim a Provincial or Tag Title shot, using shenanigans to throw the monster KRENSHOV over the top. -Bluegrass Mafia defeated Mystic Exposition in a 26 minute tag team clinic. -Tommy Deathrow and Billy Kryenik went to a no-contest after both men took a bad dive from a balcony through the merchandise table. -Jeff Garvin defeated Simply Beautiful 1 fall to 0 in the 2/3 falls match. Garvin scored his fall using the heel hook submission. The match went the 60 minute time limit, SB just barely missing tying it up. -In the World Title match, champion Donovan Astros defeated Jake Phoenix in a great match-up. Astros was able to use the ropes to score the pinfall on the big man. -Team NAPW (Ravager, Chris Casino, Jeff James, Stone Zellor and The Beast) defeated The Crimes in the CAGE OF DEATH match-up. This was a violent war of attrition full of twists and surprises. Ravager pinned arch-nemesis Rex Caliber using Instant Karma (top-rope brainbuster) to finally end the war. After the match, Donovan Astros came out to talk trash to the #1 contender Ravager. Instead, it was The Beast who laid both champion and challenger out with two Chart Attacks, reminding them that the winner gets THE BEAST at Lethal Lottery II!
A fantastic, sold-out event from Edmonton. If you missed out, get the DVD when it is released in October.
-NAPW is once again owned by the man who started it, "Wahoo" Bobby Winchell. This is good news for NAPW fans worried about the future of the promotion thanks to Rex Caliber's poor ownership. Welcome back, Wahoo!
-The Provincial Title has received a name change. It is now the Canadian Heritage Title.
-Donovan Astros vs Ravager II for the World Title will take place in Beijing, China, as part of the ECFW world tour. Astros has successfully defended the title on two continents, can he make it three?
-The Lethal Lottery teams have been revealed. All teams were randomly drawn, with the winners going onto Battlebowl for a World Title shot. The teams are:
-MATCH 1- Simply Beautiful & "The Original" Jeff Garvin vs "The Show" Chad Kurtis & Dez Carter
-MATCH 2- Sebastien Martyr & Murcielago vs Billy Kryenik & "American Nightmare" Matthew Kurtis
-MATCH 3- Ravager & Kevin Kodiak vs "The North Star" Randy London & Al B. Damned
-MATCH 4- Phoenix & Deathrow vs "Yukon Gold" Matt Nash & Link Van Haggard
Some interesting pairings there, such as hated enemies SB and Garvin forced to team, and the current tag champs ending up as a team. Rumour has it that Phoenix wants to put the tag titles on the line vs Nash & Haggard, will NAPW brass let him?
Also on the card from Seattle will be Stone Zellor putting his Heritage title up against a man he just fought alongside in CAGE OF DEATH, Jeff James, and the World Title match-up between Donovan Astros and The Beast. If Astros loses the title to Ravager, Astros will take Ravager's place in the Lottery and Ravager will face The Beast.
-NAPW and REBEL will put on their third joint show in October, taking place in Raleigh. Rumour has it that a single-night tournament of some kind will be on tap...
-The first-ever NAPW double-shot takes place on September 27 and 28 in Surrey, BC and Vancouver, BC. Matches will be announced soon.
