PCW News: Night of Champions Preview, Supershow Rumors, Backstage Drama

7/26 PCW Newsline with Gina Ramsey

As PCW Night of Champions approaches, the action continues to heat up here in Political Championship Wrestling. The Miss USA/Kathryn Randall Collins match for the PCW Women’s title is just one in a number of intriguing storylines going into Wednesday night.

PCW NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS
July 29th @ Hack’s Rusty Nail Saloon in Wauseon, OH

PCW TELEVISION TITLE MATCH
SNAFU (c) w/Dr. Bill (Independent)
vs.
‘The King of Old School Gimmicks’ Baron Von Munchke
(Island of Misfit Wrestlers)

SNAFU rose up from the ranks of talent enhancement with the help of self-help guru wannabe Dr. Bill. Now, there are major cracks in their relationship that could explode sooner than later. Baron Von Munchke is a throwback to the old school of professional wrestling. He’d like nothing more than to capture the TV title to prove that the old ways still work.

PCW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
WWR Tag Team #7 Big Oil and Kirk Walstreit (c)
(Dick Cheney’s Extreme Neo-Con Alliance)
vs.
‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido and Starz N. Stripes
(Progressive Alliance)

Big Oil and Kirk Walstreit have been the PCW Tag Team champions since November save for two weeks. They face in ‘No Frills’ Chris Escondido and Starz N. Stripes perhaps the best natural tag team in PCW since the glory days of the Drunken Luchadors Dan and Don Martini. Is this the end of the line for Big Oil and Walstreit? Or will they prove once and for all just how great a tag team they are?

PCW WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH
WWR Womens #17 Kathryn Randall Collins (c)
(Progressive Alliance)
vs.
WWR Women’s #10 Miss USA w/Dawn McGill (Independent)

Miss USA has been a champion in the Dream Wrestling Federation. In two short weeks, she’s catapaulted herself into a title match against Kathryn Randall Collins. KRC’s reign has been a little underrated. She’s a three time Women’s champion with a lot to prove Wednesday night.

Over the past week, Collins has been uncharacteristically vocal, speaking out on what she called ‘preferential treatment’ of Miss USA. The Progressive Alliance have found themselves in a ticklish situation. KRC is the standard bearer. Successfully bringing Miss USA into the fold would cement the image that the Progressive Alliance moved closer to the center. On top of that, PCW CEO Barack Obama’s proclaimation that either the Television title or Women’s title may be dropped has raised tensions in the locker room. Many see Miss USA’s arrival as a sign that Obama plans to keep the women’s division and dump the television title.

PCW TITLE MATCH
WWR Mens #16 O’Beck Bahama w/Justin Sufferable (c)
(Progressive Alliance)
vs.
The Right Reverend Randy Richardson (The God Squad)

O’Beck Bahama’s PCW title reign has been characteristically low-key- like he is. The total opposite of his mentor, PCW CEO Barack Obama. However, after last Wednesday’s disaster, it may be time for Bahama to step up his game. He’s got the best manager one could have in former PCW Champion Justin Sufferable and you know that he’ll have a game plan for the new look Quad R.

As for Quad R aka…the Right Reverend Randy Richardson, is this the moment that he finally cashes in the big one. Everyone remembers the match at Loose Cannons Unleashed in March where he was literally three seconds from becoming the champion before his legendary and infamous emotions got the better of him. Now, here is Richardson, hanging with the God Squad and seemingly more at peace with himself. Is this his time to finally take the final step? We will find out at PCW Night of Champions.

Two Other Matches Added to the Card

President of the PCW Competition Committee Nancy Pelosi announced today that two other matches have been added to Night of Champions.

The first one is Peta from PETA versus ‘The Princess of Political Incorrectness’ Andrea Doria. Both women are managers. Peta took exception to Doria’s promo about PETA and other special interest groups and went to Pelosi to request a match with her.

The second match is the Extreme Weather Network taking on former PCW Tag Team Champions Jack Schett and Bull Schett. The EWN is trying to make inroads in what has become a very competitive tag team division. The Schetts just want another shot at the PCW title. This match could be the springboard that each team needs to move closer to that goal.

SUPERSHOW RUMORS

As PCW continues to claw their way out of an economic hole, there have been whispers about a rumored August 23rd supershow involving PCW, the Missouri Valley Wrestling Association, and the Dream Wrestling Federation.

At this time, we cannot confirm these rumors. PCW Press Secretary Robert Gibbs flatly refused to speculate on a possible joint supershow.

However, with the continuing controversy over the signings of Miss USA and the Extreme Weather Network, Obama may need something big to justify bringing them in. A supershow could go a long way to showing that PCW can hang with other federations on the same card and showcase our talent to a new audience.

Tune in as this story develops.

KRC HAS WORDS WITH HRC

Compounding CEO Obama’s problems is the PCW Women’s champion Kathryn Randall Collins. As mentioned already, she has become very vocal about Miss USA and this led to a sharp exchange between her and Hillary Rodham Clinton this past week. HRC originally brought Collins in as her protegee and was instrumental in bringing KRC back into the Progressive Alliance fold.

Clinton has also been very supportive of the Miss USA hire and has been very active in trying to get her to join the PA. This, according to backstage sources, has upset Collins to the point where she may consider becoming an independent if Miss USA does in fact become a member of the Progressive Alliance.

Once again, PCW CEO Obama is trying to cool down the tension within the Progressive Alliance. However, the more conservative members of the group want Miss USA to join the PA; the more liberal members do not.

Obama’s problem is compounded by the Women’s Division vs. TV Division controversy. Suffice to say, there doesn’t appear to be an easy road out of this one for the new CEO.
