Shamon was Eddie's main lackey but he went AWOL after screwing up the paperwork during the reign of Joe The Plumber and allowed JTP to get his title belt back, as Eddie was keeping it from him.

Somehow he resurfaced (not sure if it was him, or somebody in his gimmick) as 'Zombie Shamon' in THE FALLEN, with a bunch of B-Movie spoofs. I want to think it was somebody else, like 'Fake Sting' or some such.

It's 187's little cousin. lol

'THRILLER' was the inspiration behind all that obviously.

LOL! I think Thriller-version Zombie Shamon is brilliant, BTW.

Don't give me a reason to bring him back!

This is for the Cabal.

That'll give you something to think about.

JN, if you want to go crazy, you could do a rundown on the Mayfield/Miles angle! I wasn't around during those days, but I've read some of it. Missed a lot, I'm sure.

Who is the most underrated NFW character of all time? And NO I will not accept Armando Montezuma as an answer! Pick someone else!

RE: Miles/Mayfield "Screwjob Heard Round the World" - do you want me to explain the feud, or give highlights? Both?

How'd you end up creating Blaine Hollywood?

That's easy. Well, Lamont Hollywood goes WAY back to maybe 1993 (20 years - woah) and it was always in Lamont's character that he was a ladies' man. I figured that he's probably embellishing a bit, kind of like how Flair (I believe) was a married man but his character was a playboy. I'm sure there's shades of grey in there, but I wanted to create a second-generation wrestler out of a character and Lamont seemed the best fit.

Plus it'd be an interesting back story to insert little kids running around a locker area, such as now you see these old clips of little shane and stephanie palling around with the WWF workers - I'm sure "Manager to the Stars" Lamont would have Blaine in the back getting babysat or teaching him the business.

Here was Blaine's first shining moment, where I was going to have him turn Heel on his dad to draw heat. ROOKIE NIGHT! Also the birthplace of a young Impulse.

It's hard to pick one, where I wish only the best on everybody that comes through the doors! Alas, not everyone works out. And mind you, I'm speaking totally in-character and am not remarking on handlers-just characters.

Monty wasn't underrated - he was over when he was here.

A quick list:

1) 'Patron Saint of Violence' PAT BLACK ne CANCER
I'm a mark for evolving characters, and When Cancer came back to life as the PSOV, I was a total fan. Alex Wylde did business with Pat Black on his way out, who then became the Mid-Atlantic Champion, and then poofed on us. The "Throw Cancer in the flaming dumpster' spot is also the genesis of BANNED 4 LIFE, and a big reason for NFW going global in the long run. He could have been the leagues Tommy Dreamer, but flamed out

2) RICKY ZANE
This pick has heat because of what Bloodhunt feels he was owed, but Zane was over and if he stuck around, he could have been a super-babyface, or whatever he wanted to be.

3) RICK RYCONIK
Just a different type of character, that in hindsight, I think yours truly was more a fan of than everyone else - if Hogan and the rest still wrestle, I don't see the big deal with an old wrestler in FWrestling wrestling. WRESTLING! Now legit, a lot of our guys are old, but no one ages around here, if you notice...

4) ALEX WYLDE
Still love that character. He could have had the moon if he stuck around.

5) ARES
The first NFW HOSS~!! who couldn't keep his shit up, and poofed.

I could go on! Let's discuss!

I'll take running stabs at these. I guess that's a lunge, if it's a running stab.

FAVORITE MATCH: This may change from moment to moment, but It may have been one of the Dan Ryan/Castor Draws. Maybe II. I think the end of the match with both men spent, bleeding, and taking knees while the audience gave a standing Ovation was amazing. Apparently I'm the only one in FWres who liked that finish, but that's not the issue here.

CHARACTER: I think that's damaging for me to say who my favorite is, and I don't really have a HANDS-DOWN favorite. It may be Calvin Carlton! I think Mike Manson is in the running. I may have to do another list to answer that better.

ANGLE: Was probably the Miles/Mayfield feud, since so much was at stake, and it existed as the eye of the NFW tornado and a lot of people may not have paid attention, but when it was over, it changed business.

SHOW: May have been CRASH 47, where Eddie Mayfield gets sworn in as NFW President, and blasts JTP with the Heel Bible with a brick inside it. It was a great show. Maybe CRASH 50? I know - better answer:

CRASH 1. That's where it all started.

I should have said PAST CHARACTER ... would have let you off the hook a bit!

Here's one ...

Is there an angle that was planned (at any point in time) and fell through that you really wished had run its course?

I think the JTP/Eddie Mayfield feud could have had a better ending. I never really wanted a 'blowoff' match, because Eddie wasn't wrestling anyway, tho the crowd may have wanted that. The main reason Eddie was there in the first place is because he felt there was no one in the back that could do it, so he stepped in. I never planned a 'McMahon/Austin' style for it, but felt it worked, because hey - it's kinda ridiculous you have the world's biggest company, and the top guy looks and acts like a hobo. JTP kinda dashed against the rocks, and the way it happened kinda helped put Dorchester over so it kinda worked out. I never saw a MAYFIELD vs. JOE match, though.

I was gonna do a BE THE BOOKER note with JTP's reign, but unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of response to that thread.

Also, re-reading the SEVEN DEADLY SINS/Prosser/UWA invasion angle - that was the end of a lot of emotion about the transition of UWA to NFW, and sins of the past. That fell apart, but had some AMAZING set-pieces in it. I feel like I was doing some of my best work writing an angry Avery Prosser, back to get revenge on Quentin Sullivan for ruining his career.

A lot of people may have felt that it was confusing (probably was) since it happened right in the middle of the new Season format and the league was riddled with new guys who possibly didn't understand it - and now it's ancient history - but at the time there was a lot of holdoffs and consternation that was wrapping up from the 90's and that feud really picked at some sore spots. The only big spot from that that people held on to was the Exploding Wargames Cage, but there was a LOT of stuff going on for that to culminate.

That was a good thread, but I knew nothin'-zip-nada about any of those old characters aside from Shane Southern so it would have taken a TON of research to familiarize myself with them. If you did a more current one, I'd bite.

Hmm, maybe I'll dig it back up. There's a weird window with these - I don't want to do anything super-current, where it could rub against recent booking (IE: You guys fucked this up - I would have done THIS) - and I wanna keep the discussion fun and pointed in the history of the league. Anything too far in the past and people weren't there.

Whatever I post in the future (like I did with the first ones) I'll give links to the card/timeline that you can read up on so it makes sense.
