I've noted that the slots in the tournament seem to filling up at a rather rapid pace - and had two ideas on how to deal with a 96 person tournament should the need arise.
Potential Expansion
1. First round triple threat matches - This would give use 32 triple threat matches - which could then be used to narrow the field to 64 (one person eliminated - other two move on) or to 32 (elimination style - winner stays on). I personally like the first one, but either or.
2. 3 Brackets of 32 - Triple Threat final - self-explanatory - 3 brackets of 32 wrestlers plays out - with a triple threat finale for the winners of each individual bracket.
Bracket Pool
Another idea, I had which could/could not involve a prize - is a NCAA style bracket pool - where you collect points for each match pick correctly (with each round being worth double the points). I think this would make it fun maybe for someone that can't find the time to RP for the tourney or someone who maybe gets knocked out early.
Seeding
This would run kind of contrary to the Bracket Pool idea (although you could implement the Pool after round 64). As I understood it from the podcast is that there would be some type of scoring/grading template for the roleplays. Here, my idea is to re-seed the tournament after the first round based upon first round grades.
Theoretically, you could also grade our entry-level RPs and then seed according to that. I think seeding makes it fun - will add an element/storyline for everyone (underdogs v. favorites, no respect, etc.).
Just a few things I figured I'd throw out to improve the experience.
