(We fade in on a black-and-white security camera shot in a parking lot. Various equipment and promotional materials visible throughout the shot tell us this parking lot is connected to an arena showing a wrestling event, presumably Aggression 54. A figure with his back to the camera quickly walks into shot. He walks toward a black car, and just as he's about to open the door, a voice brings him to a halt)

Pat Jones: Aaron! Aaron, stop!

(EPW senior referee Pat Jones runs into the shot from the side as the figure from earlier turns to face him, revealing himself as Aaron Jones. Jones stops in front of Aaron, catching his breath after apparently sprinting after his son)

Pat: Don't leave yet. I need to talk to you.

Aaron Jones: Dad, we talked about this earlier. If you're just here to try to convince me--

Pat: What do you expect me to do, Aaron? You get yourself beaten up by that Omega, you disappear from the hospital after you promised me you wouldn't leave, you show up on camera sounding exactly like that lunatic you've been following around...

Aaron: And we talked about all this earlier! Look, I realize you don't approve of what I'm doing, and I realize you're reluctant to support the decisions I've made. But I'm not abandoning you here. We've talked about this since then. We talked about it earlier tonight when I came to see you between matches. None of what you've just said to me is any different from what you said earlier.

Pat: This isn't about--

Aaron: And I think you should know better than to refer to Him as a “lunatic.” I know you and a lot of the rest of the players in EPW don't see it, but He is a visionary doing what he has to do to ensure the survival of this business – to ensure it has a future, so I can follow in your footsteps. He's trying to do what no one else is willing to do, to save this industry by doing whatever it takes and sacrificing as much of Himself as He has to.

Pat: What does that even mean, Aaron? I hear you saying these things, but they're not your words.

Aaron: You know what it means, Dad. We both know you do. You just don't agree that this business needs to be saved from itself, which is what He told me you would do. And you don't want to understand anything I say on the matter, because you refuse to believe I'm making my own choices here. I'd hoped it would be clear to you by now that I haven't been brainwashed, as the people backstage have been whispering. Including you.

(Pat Jones winces at that remark and is silent, struggling to come up with a response)

Aaron: Yeah, that's right. I know what you've been saying. He may not be the most popular person backstage these days, but He still hears what people say, knows what goes on. He's focused on knowing the minds of the rest of the EPW payroll, be it wrestlers, administrators or even referees. He needs to know their thoughts so that He may know what needs correcting – and so that He may know how to bring them down if they persist in refusing His vision.

(Pat Jones just stares at his son, unable to figure out a response to that statement)

Aaron: I'm helping Him not because He is somehow manipulating me into doing it. I'm helping Him because I know that His way is the only way – and I won't be the last person to realize it. Moods are altering, Dad. Minds are changing. Maybe not in the locker room, but one by one, people are realizing it is His singular vision that can save this business from the abomination it has become.

(Aaron Jones reaches for the car door, but his father grabs his arm to stop him)

Pat: Listen to me! Look, I don't know what's ... convinced you to go the direction you've gone, and you'd best believe that I will find out. But I need you to be honest with me. When we talked earlier tonight, you didn't say anything about getting involved in Copycat's match, about putting yourself in harm's way again. No matter what cause you may be fighting for, you have to know how much it kills me to sit there and watch you get hurt, how much pain it brought me to see you hit in the face with the ring bell by Layne Winters.

Aaron: I know you don't like it, Dad, but it's the kind of sacrifice that has to--

Pat: And confronting Sean Stevens? For God's sake, Aaron, you have to know what that man is capable of! Omega and Layne Winters will hurt you, but they'll only hurt you once. Sean Stevens will find ways to hurt you again and again if you motivate him to do it. He is not the kind of opponent you can handle, Aaron.

Aaron: No one on the EPW roster is an opponent I can handle, Dad. But He can handle them. And there's no one He is more sure He can handle than Sean Stevens. He may have made a valiant statement in his decision to defend EPW to the death tonight, but his valor won't help him when it's held up to His incorruptible image. Stevens' declaration to oppose Him will be Stevens' downfall. Sean Stevens has absolutely no idea how far he will fall if he commits to this false cause.

Pat: What about Michael Bastard, then?

Aaron: What about Michael Bastard?

Pat: That's who Copycat will face at Aggression 55, or so I'm told. Dan Ryan has every intention of punishing Copycat for what he's done, and Michael Bastard is as violent a man as any on the EPW roster.

Aaron: No one that He can't--

Pat: Michael Bastard will hurt you, Aaron. If you involve yourself in that match, he will hurt you. Please, if you won't listen to anything else I say, listen to me on this: Do not be part of this match. Do not put yourself in that position.

Aaron: I can't choose which sacrifices I make, Dad. Neither does He. Michael Bastard may be able to inflict pain on me and on Him, but Michael Bastard can't impede His progress. At Aggression 55, he'll just be another obstacle placed in His way by Dan Ryan that fails to stop Him.

(Aaron turns again to open the car door. Pat again grabs his arm, pulling him back)

Pat: Stop trying to walk away from me! I'm trying to help you!

Aaron: I don't need your help. I have all the help I need from--

Pat: Do not say “Him!” I don't care what he's told you, if he can't protect you, then you can't trust him! I will not let him take you away from me!

Aaron: He's not going to do that. Right?

(Pat stops, briefly confused by Aaron's last word. He then turns to look behind him as Copycat walks into the shot, staring his dead eyes at Pat. Pat freezes, staring up into Copycat's dead eyes, but remains between Copycat and his son)

Pat: You can ... you can do whatever you want to me, but I won't--

Aaron: He won't hurt you, Dad.

Pat: How can you be sure?

Aaron: Because I asked him not to. He does listen to me.

(Copycat walks around Pat and past him, going around to the other side of the car. Pat follows him with his eyes, confused but still somewhat fearful)

Aaron: Dad, we'll keep talking about this. But I'm not giving up the cause just to selfishly save my own skin. Soon enough, I hope you'll understand. Soon enough, I hope you'll see what He sees.

(Aaron opens the car door and gets into the car, his father still somewhat stunned. He starts up the car and drives away, and Pat Jones is left by himself in the parking lot, trying to wrap his head around what just happened, as we fade to black)
