Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

Corbin’s only nickname is "The Cyclone". Aside from that and some variation of Oklahoman, all the other nicknames are Collins' - Behemoth of Birmingham, West Midlands Mauler, British Strong Man, Big Brit, etc, etc.

Hope that clears up any confusion. I should maybe fill out the Guns' bios. Could help.

My mistake. I'll have to reread the match. I think I mistyped Corbin for Collins talking about that. But booze. So not sure. I don't remember it being confusing though. I more than likly made it more confusing when I typed the feedback. Appreciate the clarification though.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

- Good opening bit, nice and abbreviated while still serving a purpose.

- Love that submission spot, good on ya' Mr. Murray.

- This is the sort of ewrasslin' storytelling that only works in an angled fed like outs. "Impromptu" booking, NPC's that are flawlessly utilized whomever ends up writing them. Jane and Kelly are Jane and Kelly no matter who's at the keyboard. I goddamn LOVE that about DEF. Great segment.

- The Violators are wonderfully strange. Segment ran a liiiiiiittle long? The T4H were such a throwaway idea in the BRAZEN doc, it's incredible what the roster has done with some of the active NPC bookings. If we do nothing else with BRAZEN other than sourcing "jobbers" like this, I think it's doing its job. Some of these characterizations are so good I'd vote adding some of the BRAZEN guys to the main roster as "collectively handled" characters.

- Three non wrestling segments in a row? What are we, Monday Night Raw? (heh) Absolutely sick face turn. Well done guys.

The D:Your movies suck, you suck, fuck you bruvs, I’m out. OBVS.

Elise Ares:
WORLDSTARRRRRR.

lol

- Four in a row, lol, man were we slim on matches this week. But when the work is this clean, simple and well written? Sheeeeeeeit. Again, well done Mr. Murray.

- *SQUISH* God I fuckin' love how we're using jobbers now. Scratch my RAW comment above, DEFtv is becoming WWF circa the 1980's and I'm lovin' it.

- Like I said, goddamn weird wild wonderful stuff fella's. Sooooome of these segs could have been bumped to an Uncut? Card seems seg heavy, but otherwise no complaints. Small quibble.

- Good guy bro hang fist bump friendship time for the win.

- Happy duder chose to feud out of the box against The Guns. As soon as Andy posted them in the doc and Chris gave them faces, I knew I wanted to see them utilized. Perfect simple jumping off point for Michaels. Happy to see this one unfold going forward. Very well written.

- Natas gets sent to the principles office / Kendrix is a douche.

- Reaper makes me wish I'd zigged instead of zagged with Box and made him sort of supernatural when I had the chance early on. I goddamn love gimmicky wrestle-stuff.

- Poor Natas.

- Solidly booked face turn, my friends.

- The only thing I did this week, yaaaaaay.

- I'm trying to imagine Brock Lesnar sitting in the front row of RAW with a trench coat, glasses and hat trying to look inconspicuous... lol

Fantastic title change, fantastic limo spot. Just fantastic, excellent job all around.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

The Rundown - Brief and effective, very nice! (borat voice).

Cayle vs Caballero
Good match here from murrrphisto who is good at da squash match. This did it’s job, it gave Cabellero some life which I enjoyed, and it continued to build the squid vs cardboard box rivalry we’ve been watching. Boston Massacre is a great way to heat up the feud.

The Sitdown

LOVED THIS BIT!!!!! Great segment, very back and forth, very believable. Kelly Evans doesn’t have a lot of leverage and Jane Katz knows it. And she uses that to put Penn in a FIST rematch TONIGHT! Great schtuff!

Reckonize
What a fun segment! First off MV2 needs more fiber in his diet, I suggest starting off with fiber bars, and maybe some new breakfast cereal! (#DadProbs). Secondly this tag team is already on my favorites list. Love the interaction and the extreme differences between the two. Feels like a “Strange bedfellows” pairing that just stuck. Looking forward to the match.

Sports Entertainment Awards Bay Bay
Wrote this with the bois. Hope you enjoyed.

Earn It.
Go get em! Rah Rah stuff. Perfect babyface segment. Kelly Evans stands firm in her decision and doesn’t grant the token face a match just cause he asks for it. I respect it. This is the way an impartial owner would be, and has been for the entire show, consistency with the earlier seg. Good stuff, amped to see how he plans to earn it.

MV vs T4H
Hahahahaha “Masturbated all over my luggage” I’m losing it. I hate reading entrances and will be the first to admit i typically skim them, so anytime they are cut short I am a big fan. (Go figure, says the guy with the longest entrance in the fed). MV2 can’t wait for revenge any longer. Beautifully written match, very fun to read, very easy to read. Noticed no formatting errors this week. Two thumbs up.

Lordly Revelations.
Woah big intrigue! Liked the continuity of doing this right after the match. We find out it was the manager of the Storm all along. Now we get to see this rivalry between these two tag teams. YUS! DEF Tag division is suddenly hot! PCP, Bruvs, Violators, and The Storm….lots of potential there, IJS.

Don’t Fight Doors

Cayle Murray:
… none of that happened, did it?
Impulse:
It did not.
Cally shrugs.
Cally:
It might’ve… we just didn’t see it.

Hahahahahahahaha, She’s so fucking weird! Good face promo here from the two, Cayle is going box hunting, because he has a deathwish.

Michaels vs Collins
A nice Hoss match on the card tonight this one was pretty good. Still trying to get a feel for Corbin Michaels, and this helps a bit. I like the idea of someone playing a 2nd/3rd gen guy in efeds. The only question i have is did the same handler handle the father, or is it just a character trait? EITHER WAY. this was good stuff and helped elevate Michaels as legitimate.

Suckered
Great Natas/JFK bit. Love the ongoing issues between these two even as JFK is helping Mikey deal with PCP. Like the security bit, and Fatas getting a little strike in at the end. Wyatt Bronson aint takin no shit tho!

Scott Douglas vs Impulse. SOHER
I had a bit of a Nirvanacanrana this week myself so i totally feel it. Tap Sabbath! These puns are amazing, and I’m totally marking for them all. Hilarious intros and very good sportsmanship, thats continuity from last week's seg. Great chain wrestling and constant shows of respect. Nothing dirty whatsoever. I don’t….wait….what happened!? I don’t remember the last time i saw a perfectly clean matchup in DEF….ever…. Mind blown! Reaper comes in and gets him some Subpop Scott. Very goot

Consequences
WOAH. Natas suspended! For real tho? Or for like a week? Unclear!? Jokes aside, this is good schtuff. Kelly has had her hands full tonight and now loses another good guy.

PCP vs The Bruvs: Tag Titles
Wrote this with Billy, enjoy!

The Line
Box is testing Cayles mental toughness. Great seg, this one gave me all the suspense in the world. Loved the way the end was written. Box is the most authentic “character” on the roster, and one of my all time fav promos. Murrr is the biggest workhorse I know, their first battle was fucking nuts…. So excite to see what comes from round 2.

Top Secret Main Event
Holy Sheeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiitttttttt
Penn takes the Fist from troy, Dan Ryan returns and destroys Troy and gives the assist, only for Eric Dane to show up as the light die down and make use all be like “WOAH”. Good schtuff. The match itself was really good, and it continued to build throughout. Great main event and great way to end an awesome episode of TV.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

CAYLE MURRAY v. CRISTIANO CABALLERO

All biz from Captain Cayle … nice touch w/ using Boxer’s submission. Sometimes you must poke the bear. Excellent way to build heat. Now, we await the bear’s response.

THE SITDOWN

Very, very interesting.

I was surprised that Kelly admitted that she may have stepped over the line. This Jane Katze is a Smooth Operator, mang. Great main event for the evening - cannot wait.

RECKONIZE.

Anal fissures and revenge - the core of any worthwhile segment, my friends.

Sports Entertainment Awards Ceremony, BAY BAY!!!!

Classic heel.

This started building at 77 (maybe earlier than that) and it’s great to see it unfold. Hollywood Bruvs are a riot. The D snapping off was a well-deserved moment. Klein not being sure who to stay with and finally scurrying backstage makes it.

EARN IT

Time to Cayle to roll up his sleeves and get what he wants. Like Pete said, “Classic Babyfacin’”.

MASKED VIOLATORS v. THUGS 4 HIRE

LOL @ The Luggage Bit.

Enjoyed the match style - good summary with fleshed out high spots. Sound like a broken record, but the total opposites bit just works. Like that the attack has brought them closer together - excellent device to build/transform.

LORDLY REVELATIONS

Nigel Motherfunken Tricklebush.

Need I say more? I'm looking forward to this Storm.

DON'T FIGHT DOORS

Good babyface segment. I continue to enjoy reading Cally. Totally strange, but totally awesome.

Cayle showing some of that persistence.

CORBIN MICHAELS v. ROB COLLINS

Wrote this.

SUCKERED

Kendrix continues to heel Natas and Natas shows he could never be a doctor … he has no patience (classic joke from Biron). Natas is in deep trouble, but imagine when he finally gets his mitts on JFK.

SOUTHERN HERITAGE TITLE MATCH

Well-written match. Get over both as respectful faces with legit skills, of course. Scotty gets to brush shoulders with a belt holder and Impulse picks up a title defense. Good deal.

All that good guy business is quickly forgotten as Reaper slithers in and puts a good ol’ passionate asswhippin’ on Douglas. Nice job pushing it along fellas.

CONSEQUENCES

Wyatt Bronson is a tattler. Just sayin’.

Natas gets suspended … feud was really heating up and now it shall simmer. Natas is so going to wreck JFK’s face at some point.

PCP v. HOLLYWOOD BRUVS

Good turn here and this could be a tremendous feud. Looking forward to seeing more of PCP aside from being SEG lackeys (this being my second show).

THE LINE

Cayle’s persistence continues. I don't know the character well, but he seems to be temporarily stepping above Babyfaceness (“cussing”, hitting Boxer). Solid progression here. I think Bronson Box is my fav DEF character over this brief period. Can't wait to read this as it plays out.

SECRET MAIN EVENT

Solid start before it headed for chaos. Maybe a bit too much focus on the fan in the buildup to the actual attack. Would have been a bit more surprising without mentioning him prior to attacking Troy, but a cool twist regardless.

Dan Ryan is back! And Eric Dane! Penn is FIST! LT is gonna be pissed! Should be tremendous as it unfolds further!

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

SPOILERS ABOUND!

The hype has been STRONG with this show. I will sometimes scan through feedback PRIOR to reading the event but Pete said "NO! SPOILERS, damnit!" and that told me this one likely lived up to the hype. And, "obvs", the chat has been lit AF, as the kids say, about this so... I am fairly boned up going into it! Reviewing as I read...

RUNDOWN
Nice, quick opening - felt very "real"! And led right into the action, which I dig.

CAYLE MURRAY VS CRISTIANO CABALLERO
"as close to chickenshit as you can get without passing through a rooster’s rectal tract, Keebs!"
Sorry, but BRAZEN characters have the best names. Ever. Anywhere else.
Daaaaaamn. That choice of finisher. Love the mind games going on between Cayle and Bronson. Next level stuff.

The Sitdown
Excellent, well written, set up. This would be the mystery main event, yes? I had this weird notion that it would be some kind of odd multi-man tag thing encompassing a bunch of the stuffs. But i am down! Oh. Am I down.

RECKNONIZE
This was obviously all me. One of those things where you sit down to write, SORT OF knowing where you want to end up and just sort of finding your way there as you go... and in the end, one of you has hemmorhoids. And, man, I love mucking around with the BRAZEN guys. Was BRAZEN a satellite "TV show" in DEF in the past? Bc I would be down to somehow help try to kickstart something quick, consistent, and fun w/ the "brand", once my "personal life" quiets down. T4H are straightforward and fun - and also have GREAT names.

SEG AWARDS
LOL @ "it's my wallpaper". That Natas-win swerve was also so great. And OH SHIT. LOVE the implosion! Match is set!

EARN IT
Show could be a little segment heavy in the early goings. Unfortunately, I think that's just hard to avoid when errbody is trying to "get their shit in". That being said: I could probably ingest an entire show of the Murray/Bronson dance. Well written segment with some purpose! As always, interested to see what Cayle is going to have to do, and is willing to do, to earn it.

MV VS T4H/LORDLY REVELATIONS
Also me! I've had a very clear vision of that actual moment floating around in my head for months and months. Hope it showed!

DON'T FIGHT DOORS
#slipperybits
Friendship is Magic

CORBIN MICHAELS VS ROB COLLINS
"This kid is proof they should cropdust Oklahoma with an aerosol-form birth control."
Lord! I need to up my Angus-Analogy game! That is a laugh out loud line, right there. Bobby Heenan blushes at that line. Wowza. Great match! Solid win for the Cyclone! Great, simple segue-way to the next segment!

SUCKERED
Man! Natas can't catch a break. And now he's being summoned to the principal's office? Oh boy.

SCOTT DOUGLAS VS IMPULSE
"I really won’t know until the goodwill drains off."
Such a fantastic match. I don't see that Douglas loses ANY momentum with that competitive loss. Just a great, easy to read/visualize contest. Fav so far of the show. Also, I want more Reaper in my life. Thank you.

CONSEQUENCES
Jason Natas:
Hold up… this fuckin’ guy BURNS MY GOD DAMN BEL--
Kelly Evans:
It wasn’t your belt! You LOST the DOC, remember?!
DAAAAAAAAAMN. Kelly is working STIFF!
So, Natas is suspended... And JFK isn't punished for destroying the DOC belt? Don't know the Kelly Evans character or history or not to wonder if she might be somehow aligned/inclined-towards JFK.
But, yeah, "consequences" indeed. Big time. This is far from over and I fucking love it. DEFIANCE is awesome.

PCP vs BRUVS, bruv.

Mikey Unlikely:
No, I don’t want you! I want THE D!

Love the F'poke of DOOOOOOOOOOM reference and swerve. Love this face turn. Exciting stuff! Also love that Mikey needs to live with eating that pin and look forward to his revisionist history and/or Alternative Facts. Great stuff.

THE LINE
Holy, it's more Cayle/Box, yo! It's like you knew my body was ready for more...
"Striking first for the first time since he joined DEFIANCE" - I don't know much but know enough to know that this matters. Awesome, awesome stuff. And WOW that cinematic and PERFECT fucking ending. LOVE it!

DOUBLE SECRET MAIN EVENT

Okay. This match is good. You know it's good. So good that I didn't record my thoughts as I read as I had done the entirety of above. The Dan Ryan return is interesting for a number of reasons, not least of which is him sitting in the front row. Penn threw Troy into his LAP! I read this feeling that CAN'T have been a coincidence! And then the title change happens - which i did NOT AT ALL see coming even AFTER the rematch was announced earlier in the show. And then the Dane reveal. I've been aware of Dane for over a decade it feels like, but I don't know if I've ever REALLY been exposed much. This adds a real interesting wrinkle, obviously. A huge series of moments.

This show was STELLAR! PPV-level fallout coming. If ANY show in this arc sets the stage for Acts of DEFIANCE, it is clearly this one. Seeds planted months ago are sprouting all around us - and spring is right around the corner. This is going to be fun.

[EDIT TIME]
Just read other feedbackage:
- Brian and I read Cally/Cayle EXACTLY the same. But I find I benefit from the forced careful reading!
- Can't argue with Evan's point re: Early Card-Swell Syndrome. I can absolutely think about how I could spread stuff out a bit, vs over-saturate, in the future. Last handful of shows have been early-seg heavy.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

The Rundown
It randown! Good job Peta! Nice little intro! MMMinion!

Corbin Michaels vs Nigel King
First off, Perfect length. I never got bored in this one. Also a very nice finish, Was just watching a Indy show with a friend last night and said to myself “I love when Heels get a cheap win with classic tactics” and here we have a tights held roll up! Glorious! Corbin goes down to nigel, but loses nothing really here due to distraction. Good storytelling.

Nothing Stands…
Very good breif but important promo from our new FIST. Penn shocked the world by winning the belt on DEFtv, and now he wants the world to know he’s staying around. Loved this whole bit, thought it ended rather abruptly but otherwise stellar heelery.

Curbside Service:
Oh Fuck! Eric Dane is in the building, Love the suspense and the aura to this one. Dane is the boss, and he won’t let Kelly forget it. SHE can come to HIM!

A Warning
Reaper has a message for the entirety of DEF, well except for Terry Anderson! Nice little prom, very ominous. Interested to see what this leads to, cause it def has to lead somewhere.

Scott Douglas vs Solomon Grendal
Woahhhhhhhhhhhhh Loved the finish! Very original! Big story coming now! Not to skip over the match, it was a good match, but that ending caught me off guard. Now im very invested in this. Interesting to see what happens to Scott Douglas and Reaper and where this is going…

To The Firing Squad:
Wrote this with Da Boiz. Hope you enjoyed. I’m very happy with the way it came out.

Deal With The Devil

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCk. So unexpected! Love that Dane is here to see Cayle, but the manager bit caught me off guard. Good stuff, clearly this is headed a certain direction, and I love it. Dane coming in neutral af and looking good doing it. Color me intrigued.

Reaper vs Impulse.
WTF!? Totally confused by this, Reaper is a weird cat, and only getting weirder, but oddly enough it feels consistent. Good stuff here, i'm confused by it, but It’s good. More to come from this? I don’t know!

Green Eyed Monster
Follow up to the match ending earlier really good segment and definitely tells us more but Reaper going from match to seg is a bit farfetched but otherwise i'm good with all this. The mind games are a lot of fun to watch. Good feud thus far.

Kill Em All
Brawl between Cayle and Box is broken up by all of DEFsec. Big problems for Kelly Evans! I dont like the using “smear this jobber” by the “defacto boss” otherwise this seg is great. To be honest it makes me not want to read the next match at all, cause you already gave me the ending.

Box vs JobberGuy
I read it anyway! Squashtastic! Boxer sends a message to Cayle through the use of murder. Good stuff.

Face The Music
The Storm and The Masked Violators feud is hot af just two shows in. (really more, but indirectly). This was great, I always like when the facies get beat up, even though the face team is my favorite! Nice debut for the Storm, and Nigel McTrickleberries! This is setting up to be a very hot angle!

Mikey vs Elise
Wrote this with ma boiz.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

The Rundown
Very quick and to the point but also “SOMEONE VIOLATED MY MASK.”

Corbin Michaels vs Nigel King

“I doubt this kid learns too much that’s not written in Crayola …”
“The Brixton Butcher (that’s Harry Rose)” it’s like FW for Dummies, i.e. ME.

Good match. Good length. Perfect ref for the heel to go over with the handful of tights. I wish I had thought of such a great way to come in, the BRAZEN feud is honestly genius. (Think I said that before) Lindz actually told me to get with Evan about some BRAZEN talent to work with and when I hit him up he graciously included Scott in a BRAZEN show; and I assumed that is what she meant. In hindsight maybe this is what she meant. A few arcs later Scott still has a sort of ongoing thing with a BRAZEN tag anyway (hinging from bitterness) but nothing as well put together as a full arc like this. So again, awesome way to introduce the character.

Nothing Stands…

Pretty cut and dry. Seemed top heavy though. Classic I got the belt now promo.

Curbside Service
Full blown limo-less appearance from Eric Dane and he’s making the power move on Kelly. This surely will have some follow up as the night unfolds.

A Warning
Terry blabbing on camera, luckily he is still vague enough not to completely spill the beans. Reaper has an equally vague yet much more creepy message for DEF. Some shit is going down. I’ve mentioned before even working with Justin this and a part of last arc I don’t even know everything going on with Reaper. I.e. I hadn’t seen this segment at all prior to the card. It was a nice little surprise.

Scott Douglas vs Solomon Grendal
Wrote it.

To The Firing Squad
I thought I missed something for a second, with Elise in cuffs, like a segment had gone on before and I skipped it somehow. Based on DDK and Angus though I can tell I haven’t. I realized halfway through Mikey’s spiel, ‘wait … isn’t this kidnapping? Or atleast unlawful detainment or someshit’ and it kind of took me out of it. THEN I remembered ‘ah yes, wrestling.’ Back in. Ok, I was super sucked in. In the back of my head I KNEW The D wouldn’t actually hit Elise after last week… but as I read along and the suspense built I was thinking he might. Or at least worse case Klein snatches the chair and starts hitting himself or something. Great stuff. And to wrap it all up Klein the box headed turncoat, so sad. This was incredibly well written! Loved it.

Deal With The Devil
“I’m in my locker-room. You just get dressed here.”

Great dialogue. Certainly didn’t expect Dane to be here for Cayle or to make an offer. The offer is self though is odd. I see the logic (sort of) that Dane is presenting and never expected Cayle to accept. But there must be more to this than face value. Eager to find out what.

Reaper vs Impulse.
Much like the segment before I didn’t have any look at this until the card posted. I knew the finish but no clue of the circumstance. Reaper may be the most complex character I’ve ever seen in FW, although my memory is Sam Beckett. No clue, really, how this fits into the storyline but I know the story is bananas and the whole Reaper story is nothing short of epic.

Green Eyed Monster
Wrote it.

Kill Em All
That escalated quickly. Bronson really sells the pandemonium. Kelly comes off strong but agitated with Dane’s return. I don’t hate it but a segment I once did with a working term was mentioned. Jobber is a pretty strong one. I don’t keep up with the actual ‘rasslin’ that much anymore and maybe that one is used more now, JOB Squad after all, not sure. I don’t hate it but I can’t say I love it either. Given that it is sold as a set up murder to elevate the frustration, I will say it works here. I was expecting the “thing that changed” is Cayle gets his Box match if he lets Dane manage and Box takes the match he hasn’t wanted with a guaranteed match with Dane. Maybe that is what it is, since it wasn’t spelled out. Great segment though. Hand a sense of urgency reading through and felt real.

Box vs Floyd
Well … as fookin’ promised. ‘Nuff said.

Face The Music
Hide your restrooms, hide your masks… the Violators are here. “McFuckass McComeuppance.” I know it was mentioned last card being a bit segment heavy but I think it would have been fun to have one or maybe two super short MV segments traipsing the halls in search. “Fannyshire.” 12 inch ladder?? I kid, typos are hell. Crazy segment, a lot going on. Clearly there will be one hell of a knock drag out between the Storm and MVs.

Mikey vs Elise
Perfect. The only thing I wanted to see happen was Mikey un-rightfully claim Elise’s tag strap as his own so the final square off between these pairs could reunite the titles. But even without that this was great. I knew the unraveling of the SEG was going to be a huge deal but this before the go home show, sets a high bar for the next few weeks. Also I dug seeing some different faces in the main event slot.

Overall
Surprised not to see anymore from Dane, good move though, leaves you wanting more. Surprised the MV seg was slotted so late in the card, albeit worthy. I think small “Searching” segments would have worked great with that placement as mentioned before. Reaper is crazy. I’m not sure Impulse knows what he has got himself into. Box wants to put people in a pine version of his namesake. Cayle seemingly longs for said treatment. Kelly has high blood pressure; has too. Cally seems incapable of such an affliction. PCP have been shined brighter than something super shiney. Bruv’s got all the heats. And overall BRAZEN talent are on the uptick! Well aside from Box’s co-worker.

Also, since it falls in the timeline with this card/feedback cycle or whatever. Dug the PCP Propaganda post, that was mentioned on the card and flipping back through last times feedback I noticed a link that I hadn't seen and neglected to notice on the site ... The Box piece that was to be simultaneous with the end of the last show was GREAT. Good stuff.

I enjoyed the Eric Dane follow up.

Mikey vs. Elise was super entertaining for me. It was fun to read for sure. Glad I chose this for the main.

Enjoyed Corbin Michaels and of course, Bronson is a monster.

Good stuff everyone.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

Hey all. I am guilty of recent lack of feedbacking. I really don't have much of an excuse for it.

What I would like to say is overall I have highly enjoyed my experience being in DEF. Have really liked all the positive feedback I have gotten on my ARCs
Everyone I have worked with has been great and I want nothing more than to see my story progress to the next arc.

I want to see who MV go up against next Arc, I want to see Scott Douglas compete for the SoHer. I wanna see Mikey go for the world title strap and I want to see Box/Cayle conclude. You all are amazing writers. Thank you for letting me partake and sorry for not doing show exclusive feedback more often... again I have no excuse.

This is perfectly acceptable feedback, sir.

Not everyone will do long segment by segment feedback, and that's okay.

Thanks.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

I'm still relatively new... so wtf do I know.
But maybe the doc info on feedback should be revisited/revised to outline what is required or suggested, etc. That being said ...

Personally, I dig it and try to give it my best recount of what I've read or at the very least; the shit I liked and sometimes the things that I didn't understand or thought were going another way. End all, be all ... I dig it because I like to see what others think of what I'm doing and feel like giving the same well get me the same.

That being said ... and again reminding that I have no issue feed-backing; myself, it can begin to be a problem when almost no one from the main event scene follows suit. Those coming up from the ranks, esp new DEF handlers who may not have seen the large feedback response like I did debuting Douglas post DEFCON ... might assume spotty responses are fine or that (as pointed out by Brunk) think they need to type a big segment by segment thing.

So I'd hope everyone would want to post the feedback to receive... said feedback, but nonetheless ... if it is going to remain a mandatory inclusion than the guidelines should probably be laid out in a more succinct manor.

But, unless told other wise ... I'd like to still keep submitting mine as long or a short as needed, segment by segment. Although if we can make it past this and keep it moving, and the same problem persists ... I definitely will begin omitting feedback for those who haven't feedbacked the card before. Because I assume if you don't, then you are not interested in what people think of what you are doing. And I'll have less reason to read what you are pushing.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

The Rundown

Mine

Corbin Michaels vs. Nigel King

Surprising loss by Corbin Michaels. Still, a loss can lead to bigger things if done well and Corbin has shown his mettle so far. Of course, with Mark Shields as the referee, all bets are off. This should lead to something significant for Michaels.

Nothing Stands in our Way

And it's the coming out party for CURTIS PENN. Angus hates the world right now. But I hope that Curtis continues with the "PENNDEMONIUM" line, it's genius. And I'm sure in the thousands of fans in the building at least 10-15 will run with it.

Curbside Service

Oh my goodness, Eric Dane and a peon. Who do we follow, who do we listen to? Dane is clearly the only star.

A Warning

Nicely built. I feel bad for whoever Reaper is facing tonight. WAIT

Scott Douglas vs Solomon Grendel

Wonderful intro. In fact, Angus' shit - slinging towards Scott Douglas and his gimmick is one of the brightest spots of DEF. Love his committment to the cause. But another surprising win by Grendel; these BRAZEN kids are getting such the rub.

To The Firing Squad

This is the point. The Bruvs treating the PCP like this, it's the catalyst for what is going to be the best program of the next arc, and I know nothing about it. Simply, it was perfectly built.

Deal with the Devil

Loved this. Dane is totally on point and totally selfish; he wants Cayle to be on top to justify the fact that Cayle beat him. My favorite part of this is how they're both completely consistent with their characters but interact organically.

Reaper vs. Impulse

Justin and I wrote.

Green Eyed Monster

Health is important, Scott. And under normal circumstances, Angus' "Hole" joke would be dumb, but obviously it fits.

Kill 'Em All

Scottish, motherfucker, do you speak it?

Bronson Box vs. Matt Floyd

Box wins via smear.

Face the Music

YES! YES! I've been waiting for the Violators all night. Best team in wrestling history. The whole segment - the self-contained story - this is how you get over before you have an angle.

Elise Ares vs. Mikey Unlikely

There needs to be a "Who wants The D" joke in every show from now on. Good little match with controversy in the finish; and the PCP are actually earning some respect.

This sounds kinda cunty... but tbh I like it. If people aren't giving beef, then maybe they don't GET beef. Maybe some people pick up the keyboard after they don't see their name on anything.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 78 is live! Feed the backs!

- I like that Andy’s Guns faction is being used. Top notch characters. Wish the incredible micros Chris made were used on shows. Damn shame he goes to all that work and they just sit in that doc.

- Jane’s like the community bicycle, everybody’s had a ride (great promo)

- Simple seg, but for those of us that know the history between Sloan / Dane. Good shit.

- More solid work from Reaper.

- More stellar use of “active NPC’s” with the utilization of Grendel and Garrett. Kudos.

- The Bruvs are such cuntbags. Fantastic work. Don’t get much more solid face turns than the one the PCP’s have gone through. WWE could take notes.

- *kissy sounds*

- Spooky Reaper gunna spooky. (again, great content my man. You’re all over this card and all of it is creative, engaging, fresh. Good stuff.)

- Sorry about dropping the “J” word.

- MV/Storm segment was good, little long, but very good. This here is the reason we should never think about nixing our tag titles ever again. You never know when top notch characters like this are right around the corner.

- Bruvs vs. PCP killed it all night. Hot hot angle. Like I said above, the tension/the turn of PCP. WWE wishes their heel/face turns were half this effective.

NOT FOR YOU
Nice cold open to shake up the format of things. Dane’s presence continues to annoy the shit out of Kelly. Rather than undercut her authority I think this makes her look strong under pressure but reminds everyone this is Dane’s house. Dane’s assessment of Kelly’s office decour was interesting. Either I’ve been missing that or it just hasn’t been hit upon as often since I’ve been around. “... faint odeur of lubrication ...” Interest to see how Dane will play into Cayle/Box.

RUNDOWN
Not sure who wrote this (I’m guessing Pete) I got a kick out of DDK’s delayed Douglas omission much to Angus’ distaste. Nice and short, hit the two bigger matches and kept it moving. Good stuff.

CALLING MR. KLEIN
Damn, Klein … out of the frying pan into the fryer. Entertaining schtick from the Bruvs as per usual. Oreo Frappe Flavored Popcorn? The Bruv’s are THE SNACK CHAMPS! They always have that new-new shit, ain’t even come out yet. “Thats right! And make sure they’re girls this time!” I wonder if this is hinting at the inevitable Klein turn … but if not I assume it has something to do with the match later. Can’t wait.

CORBIN MICHAELS VS. ELIJAH CROSS
Michaels comes back with a vengeance this week with the super squash! Interested to see how this plays into the PPV. Short match, by design, but I dug it. This match seemed like paint by numbers, heel dominates, face hope spot, heel cheats, heel gets heat going into the PPV. But this took some TURNS! Klien’s loyalty being called into question earlier tied in perfectly with this. If I had to guess I’d say we’ll see something definitive from him at the PPV. Even after the D get rolled up and the bell rang, which was a twist from what I expected … shit GETS DEEPER. And The D loses via count out … it’s the little personal victories though. A lot of subtle shit in this match I dug. As great as SEG was (in the time I’ve been here) the destruction of SEG is equally entertaining. A FEW less laughs lol but still great wrestling schick.

THE GUNS GET THEIR SHOT
Don’t know if it is still a requirement or not but don’t forget all caps for the titles of segments to match the matches. Not a critique, just a tip/reminder based on a rule that I don’t know if ever was a rule or either way is currently enforced. Lol
The segment though, I like the stakes being raised especially on the go home show. No complaint there but the “if Evans … “ deal and then her just popping up on screen (which is SO wrestling and works perfectly in that regard) just fell a little flat for me. I think a segment prior to the match or well after may have suited it better and gave a little more gravitas to the match. That being said though I still dig the idea and making the match mean something. You’ve done a bang up job over this arc with these BRAZENers, I can’t wait to see how this concludes and what you can do with an active feud partner!

THE ACE ARRIVES
Good setup for the 3 on 3 later. Especially for introducing, to most, the otherwise unknown Hoffman. Plus establishing the doubt of whether or not Reaper will play ball. Honestly would have liked to seen that segment where Reaper and Hoffman speak.

KENDRIX vs THE D
Recently heard Scroobius Pip on DLM and my mental image of him was way more Steven Regal than what he turned out to be lol.
BEHIND THE DEFSEC WALL
I wrote three or four words, Murrr and Pete wrote this. They killed it.

INVITATIONAL, IN THE STYLE OF CURTIS PENN
Reading through it was obvious where this was going but I was super clueless as to who it might be, other than maybe Ryan. The Walker reveal was a surprise but at the same time I don’t really know the significance. I’m only vaguely familiar with the name from a brief stint in EPW, I think … no disrespect for the handler, I’m just not familiar with the history and pedigree that is being inferred here. I hope its spelled out a little more on this weeks uncut or in a package on the PPV itself.

MAIN EVENT/ALL IN
Helped write some of this.

OVERALLSSS
Decent card, a little light match and drama wise … for a go home show… But I think overall there has been some much going on during the ARC that this show is almost one to many before the PPV. Enjoyed the read though.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 77 is live! Feed the backs!

Was legit confused for a day or two. 80 doesn't show for me on main page. Found it in the archive! I swear I only MOSTLY need to be held by the fucking hand through life. ONWARD TO FOODING THE BOOKS!

MATCH OF THE NIGHT
Main event was BOMB. I don't care about the non-finish. So much sizzle.

BABYFIZZLE OF THE EVENING
Fucking KLEIN!!!!

HEELJERK OF THE AFOREMENTIONED EVENT
Bronson completes me. Scratches that itch I have for brutish brutes. Scratches it goooood.

GAAAAAH!! OF THE EVENING
Dug the Michaels angle! So much I was working towards it myself: MV vs Storm at ASCENSION, Ladder Match for their Contracts (see: feud doc)
In retrospect, glad I scratched my segment this show bc that would have played across really shitty. I'll come up w/ an alternative "hook" to it in the next day or so, I suppose? Maybe? What are the odds?
Sorta deflating lol. For me, anyway.

Re: ASCENSION Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 77 is live! Feed the backs!

Late Feedback.

Shorter show than usual, but thought it ran very smoothly. Not going to do seg by seg but just what I thought stood out for me/particularly enjoyed.

Really liked how the show opens up with a pre recorded seg. Different from the usual show opener. Nice to see from time to time. The Boss is back in town. Great to have Eric Dane back in the fold. Swings his weight around. Loved his take on how Kelly's been running the place. Interesting comment about the drop in tv viewings! Come on guys, we're losing viewers! But looking forward to seeing what he wants with Cayle Murray and where this goes from here.

Corbin Michaels v The Guns looks a wee bit tasty with a contract on the line. Looking forward to seeing how this develops. For a new character, Corbin has looked good in his matches so far. Looking forward to seeing more in the way of segs from this guy.

Dissapointed to not see Box and Murray get in each others faces in the back what with all that security around them this eve. I guess I'll just have to wait until the match later tonight. Geez guys!

The Curtis Penn invitational was obnoxiously good. Case of careful what you wish for as Kelly Evans sets up Tyron Walker as the Fist's opponent at the PPV.

The 3 on 3 was match of the night for me. Had a bit of everything and wasn't totally surprised that this ended in a no contest. Reaper continues to mess with my head week by week and I can't wait to find out who this woman is and why she's so significant to messing with Scott Douglas' head.

Hope you all liked the bruvs and PCP stuff this week. Looking forward to writing the main event at the PPV!

Good work guys!
