Obviously, Southern vs. Manson was the ideal way to end the first season's ULTRATITLE - not taking into account their writing since it was top notch, strictly as a fan of character/storyline, was Nova vs. Yori your ideal choice for the 2.0 finals, or was there another match that you would've liked to have seen?
Regardless, what other matchups do you think would've been interesting to end 2.0?
I don't know if I had an ideal matchup for the end of Season 2, once we got past the first couple of weeks. On one side of the coin, there was no way to predict McNichols' storylines/bookings. On the other side, I didn't know which West guy was going to disappear next. So once we got past Week 1...it was duct-tape and patching week to week and all 'ideal' things didn't even cross my mind. I just wanted to make sure we had enough pieces in place to do something fun. I think the booking style in the East turned off anyone trying to write a serious character over there...and the delays in the West got caught up in the 2006 fWo/tSC crash and burn.
I did want to write a Southern/Manson II World Title match with their face/heel roles reversed.
If Felix Red had won the East, he probably would've faced Eli Flair as Nova's whole storyline and RP's were based upon Yori's storylines. So, Nova/Yori was going to happen one way or the other...it just might not have involved the Ultratitle. Since the Eli/Nova RP was so close, the storylines became part of that decision making process.
Jeff Garvin probably would've been pushed pretty damn hard if Devin poured into him, what he was able to later pour into JTP.
KVC vs. Dan Ryan would've been a great monster final match too.
