I can't really comment on the Castor stuff because we discussed a good portion of it and I don't want to give anything away, but this is a great setup to his next chapter. NFW has followed something of a pattern - the World Champion loses the belt and leaves the fed, or in JTP's case, leaves the fed which causes the belt to vacate. Castor is technically following that pattern with his disappearance, but because of the Guild, his presence is still there which is a nice detail. Thematically, it juxtaposes nicely with Impulse as the new World Champion because Pulse is mainly a positive guy whose only agenda is to entertain the fans. He spent a year battling the Windham Clan because they said they wanted to destroy the NFW, and one of his criticisms of Castor was that the World Champion should be the one to defend his promotion. N

Now, with the Guild acting on Castor's orders to "Kill them all," Pulse is faced with the prospect of doing it all over again. In a sense of card hierarchy and appropriate 'spots' he should be able to successfully beat Alex Austin and Steel Viper, but the shadow of Castor is looming over everything.

For the rest of the card, Peter Windham remains the undisputed star.

Throw up a few notes here ...

- Good stuff from Peter ... liked the opener and his involvement with Bobby Jack/Lane. Solid match with Sagawa. Personally, I wanted to see the post-match Sagawa attack go differently from a Cash/Beautiful Blondes standpoint, but that's me being picky.

- Nice intro match for Lucky Seven. Dig the character.

- No surprise with Impulse being a fighting champion ... think that's something everybody expected. Good piece, anyhow.

- I read snippets from the Main as Katz was doing it up, but it was still highly entertaining to read again. Thought he did a nice job w/ the VENICE COAST-TO-COAST involvement.

- Liked Hollywood's On Fire ... have a few things to respond to on the Jack Bryant front, which is always good. I think everybody wanted to know what direction Castor was headed in after losing the strap and this answered that.

Any other thoughts on this card? Some major things happened in between all the Nazi screaming and beer drinking. We actually cut Nova's dick off at one point. LEMME KNOW!

FEEDBACK HOLLLLLLLA!

Favorite...

Match: Austin vs. Chameleon -- I thought that was a great way to set up a feud, and I can't believe I hadn't thought of the awkward post-match interview. I love Millwood doing those, I can't wait for a 'JUST' MARK one.

Segment: HOF. My only bone to pick is Lamont taking that kind of blade job, but whatever... it's not a broken hip, I guess. If Eddie Mayfield doesn't cut a scathing promo back at this, I'm going to be a sad, sad panda. Same for certain guys in the HFC!

Moment: KILL THEM ALL.
One-Liner: KILL THEM ALL.

What'd you hate?

The Peter Windham opening, while obviously hilarious on so many levels... just was a jarring intro into things. Am I going to take this show seriously? Are we putting this in the 'BEST OF NFW CGI MOMENTS' DVD set? I think if this didn't start the show, more people might have gotten lured into the show versus questioning where is this all gonna go?

What are you hyped for after reading this, if anything?

I loved the development of angles on this show, which I think everyone should hopefully pay attention to. Obviously with the more official debut of 7, the debut of the VCC and the re-emergence of Alex Austin -- it heavily impacted the OSS, Kid Chameleon (WHERE ARE YOU, KEEEEEEEEGUHHHHHHN?) and obviously Lamont's scalp. 'DIRTY MONEY' forming in the face of Bobby Jack was also awesome... and way less jarring to Peter Windham singing his heart out.

Other thoughts?

The Impulse seg is great to help kick off what obviously will be a 'fighting champion' story from the start, which will mix well with the potential list of upcoming challengers we'll be seeing come out of the GPX and various forming factions post-Windham War. I think we're also seeing that the HFC aren't the same type of 'force' as the Windhams with their current numbers. There's no real reason to not go after them if you're the Guild, the Black Market or a strong tag-team.
