Great start to BRAWLSTRALIA. Once people have more time to read, I'll post my Chapter-by-Chapter feedback!

Ask and you shall receive.

Welcome to BRAWLSTRALIA! - They’re always good, but I call this the BEST since the Flyer/IFE Intro way back when. Great job, Katz. The BRAWLSTRALIA Map done up in Mario Kart fashion took it over the top. Really helps get a person pumped to read the show. Great job, Katz.

ORANGE DRAGON II v. P. ‘KING’ DUK - I wrote this … it did what it needed. Always interesting and a bit more challenging to write a unfamiliar character. ODII is a good character - reminds me of a much cockier version of “The Black Rose” Kazou Shizaki.

KID CHAMELEON v. LA ESTRELLA 100% - See above. Kid Chameleon has a wicked gimmick.

Chasing Thatch - Written by Billy and I … Billy wrote all of Peter’s dialogue (hilarious). Props to NFW’s Evil Wizard for the Snogging Thatchers name and the entire KEEFER REEF BAND … that group really added more character/fun to the happenings. Still working on getting my head wrapped around Lane, but, hopefully, he came across as “Rockstar Aloof”. Where will Lane and Peter go from here? Prison, probably.

JESSE RAMEY v. PLAIN BROWN RAPPER - This has Colin’s humor written all over it … rather than a hot Aussie broad showing her saddlebags off, some guy starts to strip behind Rice! LOL! Good match, Colin. This puts Ramey over as a talented mat wrestler, which will help set him apart in the Grand Prix.

FAPPITY ‘Master’ BAYTOR v. BRET KELLY - It’s not easy to book a character like this, but I think this match went well. Some funny spots tied in (sponsored by Lubriderm). Bret Kelly actually has a shot to win, but falls short. Fappity is possibly the grossest character I’ve ever seen. Congrats, Kevin.

The next draw … - Well-written Hype Vid. Look forward to what Phillip Kennedy does in the Frontier. Happy to have Sean on board, too! Top writer … good w/ all his characters.

ATKEN/ALEXANDER v. POWERGODZ - Despite losing to Superfly Express (EMT Champions), Atken and Alexander keep building up their tag team cred. Phil Atken being teamed up with Teddy Alexander is probably the best thing I’ve seen from him. It’s such a great dynamic. Teddy uses Phil as a battering ram? Pure awesome. Looking forward to many more battles between A/A and Superfly Express. Oh, I hope Atken gets the proper time to show off his robe at some point, too.

MALIK ANDERSON v. SAAFIR MUHAMMED - To me, this one is a killer match no matter what the stipulation is. You’ve got to appreciate/understand the long, long, looong rivalry between these guys (and stablemates, at one point). I haven’t seen Julius Scissors since before Crash 50 so seeing an old face is good stuff. JN, jealous at how you write Natrone Rice. The match was great. Barbershop violence? Yes, please. If I know what you wanted from this one (and I think I do), it worked out well. Malik is a legit singles competitor … Saafir, despite not being around much, keeps that Hardcore Legend image. Curious to see what happens to DRS … sorta lost in the shuffle, but one of my favorite teams.

ROOK BLACK © v. AKITA - Tremendous Main. Akita has sort of been floating along and he needed a back-and-forth battle with somebody worthwhile (Rook definitely falls under that category). Great action throughout. DeVille still recruiting Rook even after BRAWLFERENDUM was surprising. Glad to see Eddie/Cojones run him off. Rook retains, again. The post-match is obviously the most interesting part of this one (it was great as a whole, however). Akita attacks Rayne … didn’t see that coming. Looks as if Akita may be going full Dangerman here … total Loose Cannon. I think Eddie is a lot more fun now that he’s become more active. Cojones is a great henchman, too.

Question … what happened to Raul?

Anyhow, overall, this was a good show. The new guys/JTTS matches didn’t blow the Superdome’s roof off for me, but it’s a great way to introduce them. As Rice said in his closing remarks, expect a lot more from them on Night Two! Well done to everybody who RP’d and/or pitched in for Night One!

Thanks Biron - I wanted to get over that Malik is charging out on his own and can easily wind up in a title hunt and it not be a shocker. Malik's been around forever.

Also, thanks for the Natrone love! He's pretty easy to write for me - there's a balance of making him hip, but not overdoing it - he's not Busta Rhymes, just a normal guy. Kinda like Winston from the show Happy Endings.

RE: DRS - Time will tell - I always wrote DRS as they resurfaced in NFW because of Saafir's relationship with Shaniqua - they're pretty highly decorated as tag champs, and 'Garbage' Hardcore Wrestling is kinda dying out, so we'll see if Saafir and 187 stick around or head back to UWA to train more guys like Teddy Alexander. ;)

Question … what happened to Raul?

I... seriously can't remember who came up with Raul, he's probably way more Schmid's than mine, but I'm pretty sure it was Schmid, who gave him a legit Razor Ramon gimmick -I just made him greasier. I gifted Schmid with Cajones, who's a pretty obvious BALLZ MAHONEY spoof - and I always loved him as a henchman. I feel more comfortable using Cojones to Kabong people for Eddie than dragging out Raul to be slimy with no purpose. 'Just' MARK fills the slimy NFW NPC slot.

I have to admit, I love the flow the NFW results delivers. I am still catching up on familiarizing with a lot of the backstory here, but I do aim to complete that self-assigned homework sometime in 2013 if it kills me.

I brought Orange Dragon II in and I'm excited of the character's potential. Biron did a great job in introducing him in-ring wise. I wish I supplied a bit more info on him in the mini-bio, but my slight didn't hurt too much.

Good mix of fun and introduction throughout the 1st night. I like the Windham/Cash seg, nicely done. The Barbershop Window bout was a great read as well. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything I did not enjoy. I even dug the 'Intro' where everyone was racing around the track.

Definitely looking forward to Night 2, and seeing what goes down in 2013. If I think of anything else, I'll just edit this up. But yeah, I'm anxious to read more.

I think between truly carrying the HWC toward the very end there, grabbing the straps with Bandit, blowing up at BRAWLAPALOOZA, and the singles match with Nova that there was a foundation laid. It's been built on and Malik is a legit contender, IMO. You throw Shaniqua into the mix and that's a dangerous duo.

I could see them not being around and then doing "special appearances" for tag team clusterfucks. Just for an "OH SHIT" factor. DRS arrives, beats the hell out of people, and leaves.

I'm going to end up turning this into an Ask JN thread, but since you mentioned UWA. This is more of me wanting to know things that aren't really pertinent to the Frontier. We've seen Avery Prosser (JB, Teddy) as a trainer in UWA ... Billy has Lucky Seven trained by Teresa Quaranta there ... now you mentioned DRS. Anybody else that you figured would be working there?

Oh yeah, gotta use Cojones. He's got way more significant history in the NFW and he's the perfect "Ask No Questions" henchman for Eddie. The Raul question was just of the random Biron variety ... not the you should have picked him kind!

At some point during the Fall 2012 BYOB run, I was going to have a Pee Wee Troutman/RAUL situation. That got lost in the haze somewhere. :)

I'm a mark for backstory, as I have a ton of them for the NFW players but try not to bore Katz with them :) I even have rankings for the current UWA titleholders and contenders - Some fruit I'd like to pick off the tree that may show up here. I also think props are due for anyone who comes up with the idea that their guy was trained in the NFW farm league.

I think the OSS are probably back and forth there, as well as Dougie Mayfield and the Shadowrunners, who are still waiting for that big phone call to come through. Dougie 'isn't Prime-Time Material' yet so Eddie and Sully keeps sending them back down to Philly to get better.

I have notes that say Anne Mystic/Avery Prosser co-own UWA, but Prosser is the on-air owner, and they still have the 'Black is Back' pirate-esque theme going on, like the LA Raiders own the whole silver and black thing. The UWA's current Youtube/ESEN and UNIVISION cable deal has two shows:

UWA PIRATE TV (Recap/angle/backstage 'reality' show)
UWA BLACK FRIDAY (Main show - Fridays on TVONE :)

UWA's vibe is REAL indy, probably like 95-99 ECW. As NFW shot up, UWA basically switched places with them and you can imaging UWA being shot in places like Paul Tsongas arena now. They shoot in mainly philly/NJ/NY venues, like PA National Guard Armory and the Palestra. They had a deal with the Philadelphia Spectrum, but that ended when they tore the place down.

More in the Ask NFW thread if you want it!

Fappity could start using that jerksock of his like Stevie Ray used his Slapjack. Very nice, and the results were fun as hell. Good job, duders!
