Recently I notched the censor on the site was turned off.

It's never bothered me, but I can understand how some people might think otherwise. We're, outside of Siegel, grown men and should be about to within reason write what we want to write.

However.

The ULTRATITLE some time earlier kicked off a debate, at least for me, over the idea of what's seen by an 'audience' and what's. Some of you, maybe a majority feel as if there's a fake audience watching our promos and cards.

My question is, if that's the case, wouldn't the censor exist?

Good question. I (sometimes) handle that by writing [BLEEP] in place of the word, but I dunno...it's plausible that all this shit is being seen at night on cable. That's really for the league to decide. As far as the forums go, count me as one of the many who think it's ridiculous that a group of adults on the internet need their language auto-censored. I've never met anyone on here who thought that made any sense at all, nor have I been on any forum where language was ever censored. I do respect that it's Chad wish, maybe swearing is just a pet-peeve of his, so no use telling him what he should do with his own place. But if my opinion is being asked, yeah, I hate it. Plus the fact that it can be bypassed through using italics and bold lettering means the whole thing is unenforceable anyway, so what's the point?

I will say this: despite the language censor, this forum is actually a lot more tolerable of friendly/unfriendly debate, and way less banhappy than many forums I've been on that did not have an auto-censor. One forum used to ban people for openly disagreeing with the owner over the dangers of low-carb diets, I kid you not. So, props to all the mods for that.

If I remember correctly the main purpose of the censoring was in case minors ever happened by here, so that it would be friendly to their parents. Obviously the minors want to see the coarse language but, traditionally speaking, their parents don't want them to do so.

Also there used to be a lot of teenagers around here back in the days. Things weren't always so serene.

Yeah, I remember this one 14 year old kid on Prodigy who did an RP where his character's mom got banged out after a heroin fix by Michael Clarke Duncan from the Green Mile. Whatever happened to that kid?

...oh wait.

That was me. Hey, it launched a pretty good career for Problem Child (Peter Windham). Now he's in the undercard fighting Eddie Mayfield! See, there's always a bright side.

You know there is one person and one place you can blame for the censor being removed...
