(Screen comes in on Rabesque, with the belt, you know the drill)
“Very nice, Chaos, very nice indeed. I will have to admit that it is a bit refreshing to see someone come out and say the things you did. It is nice to know someone who is as sickened as I am by the circus that much of NEW has become. I also admire someone who wants to get down to what all of us at least should have been after when we signed here..... and that is the opportunity..... to wrestle.
“But I guess I only have one question in response to that Chaos.....
Why?
“Chaos, that’s honestly not a very good decision. You see, as admirable as your stance might be, it’s not one that’s going to lead to your long term survival here in NEW, at least as long as you plan on stepping into the ring with me. You see, I’ve lost track of how many ‘up and coming superstars’ said the exact same thing that you did, except you left off the part about how washed up I am that they so LOVE to include. But the truth is Chaos, I hear this all the time, and do you want to know when the last time was that someone was able to take me down on the mat and beat me straight up in a technical wrestling match? Take me down, no chicanery, no nothing? Do you Chaos?
“I would presume the answer to that question would be no because I don’t even remember the last time that it happened Chaos. Sure, it’s easy to come out and talk about how you long for this match, and how you want someone to actually wrestle you, and for whatever reason, that’s going to put some kind of smile on your face. It’s easy after you dispense of that no-talent chump Hart, to stand on a soapbox and boast that you’re ready for any and all comers. It’s a whole hell of a lot harder to actually stand up inside of that ring, and get the job done, all by yourself. And 18 months of whatever the hell you’ve been doing is not going to be enough to take out the 30 years of experience I’ve been gaining.
“Plus, in the 18 months that you were away training yourself to be some kind of master of the mat, who the hell was training you anyway? (Chuckles) You know where I stand on that issue son. How do you expect to learn from a 1 hit wonder who after he got the luckiest break in the history of the business went on to accomplish NOTHING for the rest of his career? But you think that this training is going to be enough for you to overcome me? Stop kidding yourself Chaos.
“So.... if you want to win, find a chair, a table, some brass knuckles, hell, maybe even a few closed fists could do it, but start planning another strategy right now, because if you want to WRESTLE, at least my definition of the word, you either better reevaluate, quit, or prepare for the humiliation of a lifetime.
“But I know you’re going to be stubborn about this Chaos, it’s a foregone conclusion. Hell, you already think you have my strategy figured out. Yes, I do enjoy making people tap out, but I’ll just as well piledriver you into the mat until you’re unconscious, or roll you up for the quickest small package you’ve ever seen, with the three count happening before you even know you’re rolled, or I could just wear you out until your hand drops to the mat three times. Either way, I’m getting the job done. I don’t need to make you tap, and many times it’s a whole lot faster if I don’t, since some brave souls like to put up a fight. But trust me Chaos, if I wanted, and I had the time allotted, I would make your ass tap. But I’m not really sure that’s what the suits want on the initial episode of Rapture.
“You won round 1 and you’ve admitted that wasn’t the way it was supposed to be. But now, to steal a phrase, this is your chance Chaos, to go out into that ring, and to make yourself famous. You can do something that no one has been able to do in years, and outwrestle me. And like we’ve established.... that’s a WHOLE hell of a lot easier said..... than done.
“And as for this title over my shoulder, I don’t determine who I defend it against, I honestly don’t care. They tell me who to fight, when to fight them, and I go out and beat them. It sounds silly, but it really is that easy. Whenever they decide you get a title shot, you get a title shot, if they wanted this one to be, I wouldn’t care. I guess if you feel this match is your ‘proving ground,’ then knock your ass out, but let me warn you, it’ll make the disappointment that much greater.
“Now I know you’re going to have some kind of parting shot Chaos, you always do, but save your breath, you and I both know it’s not going to make a damn bit of difference. You need to spending as much time with your ‘legendary trainer’ as you possibly can. (Chuckles) No false gimmicks, no false hype, I am the New ERA Heavyweight Champion, I am Jean Rabesque.”
