Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

DEF tv 61 Feed BAX:

SEAT OF POWER
:
I enjoy reading Justin playing Eric Dane. I did not like seeing Kelly ready to give in so easily when seeing the BAWS though. However Dane allowing her to remain in charge was a good way to go other than just ousting her from the throne.

CAKE DAY CANCELLATION:
I love the idea of the ruined celebration. Euge being all whiney is nice. Ryan being smarmy is nice too, it does a good job of foreshadowing which is what the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] show after the PPV is known for.

BOSS BITCH AND QUEEN BITCH:
Nice little segment betwixt the girls talking about the Bloody Ascension and carving up of Box. I’m sure Box isn’t finished with the Troy.

THE MURRAY BROTHERS vs ANGEL CITY EXXXPRESS:
Nice match for the MB’s against ACX. Anyone who wrestles those two needs to head to the clinic and get their shots.

DAME UNA OPORTUNIDAD:
This should be exactly how MYBOYTIA should be portrayed. Mexican Leprechaun line was awesome. This segment is full of win from Ty, Kels, and ETJ. I still want to see more from ETJ since I know nothing of him. Mexican Leprechaun. HA!

WHERE'S THE BEEF?:
Andy is so full of face it makes me gag! Kissing the hand of Christy, YUCK! Thanking fans… where is kissing the babies. Faces make me gag. However Mikey is very much my speed of heel. I do want, for some reason, for Andy to kick the guy in the nuts and walk away like a boss! However, I see a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] interruption and Mikey having the psychological advantage here.

ANGEL TRINIDAD vs JASON NATAS:
TEAM HOSS has been great since they first arrived in DEF. Natas is finding his footing in the ring, but how much longer is Natas going to travel on the long losing road?

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME:
We learn a little bit more about the MB’s, we see some Dane and hear a bit of history, and the funny with the greasy comment. I might like these guys in a few weeks.

YOU DO NOT MESS WITH CURTIS PENN:
Mine, with a title change. It was supposed to work in cVc and have some shenanigans, but we know the story and thus the world has moved on.

EL TREBOL JR vs TYRONE WALKER:
Nice match between the two. I’m not for flippity matches, as most people know I like the beat the hell out of each other matches, but even in summary form I wanted to read this one.

ASTERISKS:
CHARACTER BUILDING! Dusty being all goody too shoes and playing coach to Natas, FDJ saying he just here to hert folks, and NATAS showing that nothing is going to get him down… Lay off the cupcakes FATASS!

A WARRIOR'S CALL:
It’s not that I didn’t enjoy this segment I just feel like there should have been more. Something to bite into other than a call out to another wrestler. Ya know?

CHANCE VON CRANK vs HENRY KEYES:
Squash match.

STREET FIGHTED:
Mai brain… it hurts. Badly. Almost as bad as the M.O.P Nazi Bob.

A KEY INTERACTION:
NOW FOR THE SEGMENT OF THE NIGHT! : I heart Keyes. I truly heart this character with all that I can heart things. I WANNA KNOW THE DRUGS HE IS ON! I’m so interested in his mental state that I want to pay the handler real cash to know the outcome.

DUSTY GRIFFITH & FRANK DYLAN JAMES vs SUPER MUSCLE BROS:
1[SUP]st[/SUP] off good match for the four guys. 2nd SMB’s did not have Curtis Penn with them, boo. 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Booya does not skip leg day!

CLAUSES AND CLAWS...ES:
Shadowed fore. Kel’s has all the balls in the DEFIANCE.

I WANT MY SHOT:
I want… I need to see Tracey and Blue do well in this arc. Both are wonderful story tellers and it’s awesome to see the two of them working, collaborating together.

SOUTHERN HERITAGE TITLE MATCH:
This was all Tracey. I had a small bit of misgivings about the submitting end of the match, but it places Harm in a very small category of people who have cleanly beating Penn and only a couple of people have ever made him tap.

HONORING YOUR AGREEMENT:
Omega is a big and creepy. I need to know about this agreement. And what does Omega want?

MAIN EVENT: LINDSAY TROY vs ANDY SHARP:
The match was solid, got Troy over without killing any hype on Sharp, but the Revenge of the Box was mo’ betta’. Without a doubt that’s exactly how Box would have handled it, unless he decided to kill her at the start of the show. Seeing one of my old characters out there brings a tear to my eye.

Over all, good show.
A lot of shit happened on my end. I will adapt. If anyone needs an opponent this arc, just holla. Curtis Penn is wide open.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

Seat of Power
Loved this seg, Started with what felt like a little hostility, but turned into a warm welcome home for Eric Dane. I’m very excited to see what happens with Dane now that he’s back and we have the question answered about who will be in charge. Kelly is still the man...er…..woman! Dane is on the roster and active. Uh oh.

Cake Day Cancellation
Eugene Dewey shows up to the Wrestle-Plex and for the first time in a long time he is FIST-less. A celebration was planned for his successful title defence, only that didn't happen. The first embarrassment tonight for Eugene in what is sure to be an active night for the former champ!

The Rundown

I <3 SIGNS! Loved how they used a continuation here and just kept the show going. Dewey in the ring now destroying the party. Here comes Dan Ryan to spoil the destructive fun. His goading of the former champ is fun! The cream cheese line was pretty epic, I can imagine Dewey SEETHING from that. Very fine writing here, Enjoyed throughout and can feel the heat between Ryan and Dewey.

Boss Bitch/Queen Bitch
Really enjoyed this seg with Lindsey Troy and Kelly Evans, a very buddy buddy relationship here but also professional as possible. Troy is being praised for going above and beyond and taking it to Box without holding back. Everyone is impressed, management and fans alike. Tonight she will have to take on Andy Sharp in the main event. (Note: I feel like this match was referenced before it was made? in the Walker seg?) Either way good stuff, and Im down to see what happens between the two facies!

The Murrrrlurks vs Angel City Exxxpresss
Very good match, leave it to Murrr to write a long match in short form! Hahahaha. Good stuff and a good story told. Cayle takes a beating in the beginning going back and forth with Mahogany only for the Hot tag to come in and clean house. Both the Murrays come off as big faces, and very talented. great match and debut for the pair. Nice finisher too. That Murrrapean Uppercut tho!

Dama Una Oportunidad
YES YES YES! I love El Trebol Jr. The little green bastard. This seg is absolutely hilarious! Perfect intro for the former After Hours Gm (with strippers in his office). Walker stands up for El Trebol and givs him credit for beating Sean Jaxon in UTAH! LOL Trebol with the negro line. Amazing, loved this. so much love! Tears in my eyes. TREBOL IS HERE!

Where’s the Beef
Hope you liked this, Having so much fun with Seth on these. Knock Knock, who’s there? Interrupting Cow…..Jacked for my debut next week.

Trinidad vs Jason Satan
Great match here, preferred this to the first one! (I only say that cause Murrrr was in both, not trying to knock anyone personally). This match was wild. A real fight it felt like. Love the “Hoss fight” dynamic to DEFIANCE. its fun to read, and it's clearly a style here! Big fan of both these characters, Trinidad especially lately. His Ascension PPV win coupled with this, goes a long way for him.

There’s No Place Like Home:
Didn't take long for Eric Dane to find Cayle and his older brother Andy. A continuation of the UTAH angle, i'm very excited about this. BOBBY DEAN even makes an appearance at the end. This feud is going to be big!

You Do Not Mess With Curtis Penn
A whole new side to Penn that we haven't seen prior! Loved this angle, calling out the new guys, calling out Harmony, and staking his claim to his title, the Southern Heritage. Even with Dan gone, Penn is poised for big stuffs.

El Trebol vs Ty Walker
FANTASTIC match. Fun read and very fluid. Trebol shows great resolve and resilience. Walker shows he’s not only still got it, but should be right back where he was before Ascension… in the title picture. Glad to see Trebol in the thick of things so to speak.

Asterisks
This segment was between FDJ, Natas, and Griffith. Ive been following the Natas angle since I filled out my app with DEF. I am enjoying it myself, hopefully he turns it around soon. This played the struggle up more, but kind of made Natas seem down and out. (the intention). I want to see how a win boosts his confidence, or is it just a “I got lucky” moment? Emo Bastard :p

A Warriors Call
I am enjoying everyone pointing to the new guys and all the signings as a big deal. Im also in “The Walking Bored” fed, and when everyone joined up there, it was the exact opposite reaction: “Why would I care, who are these people, no big deal” etc. I like that here, you play up the building of DEF and the competition as a good thing. Very very good writing here, not familiar with the character, but I can tell its an interesting one already, looking forward to seeing more from the pair. Enjoyed!

CVC vs Keyes
Keyes wins a very quick Squash match against CVC. Sad to see Dan go despite the drama. I liked the guy, and hope he ends up ok. Moving forward, this does a lot for Keyes beating someone who has a violent rep.

Jack Huntress
HAHAHAHAHAAH Loved the inclusion of the Walking Cactus! Trebol vs Jack Hunter is obviously this set up and I cannot wait to see it. So glad to see Jack Hunter live to tell his tale! Somehow he made it out of UTAH.

A Key Interaction
Im so lost. LoL. This was hilarious and confusing. Henry Keyes is so much fun, and Van Carver is NOT in the mood for it. Interested to see where this goes. LOL agian.

Griffith and FDJ vs SMB
HOLY HELL! I just read this match straight through with no interruption and it was a banger. I love the SMB, ever since I got here, the gimmick has just spoken to me! Great to see them pull out a big time win against two huge names. Woah. Didnt see that coming. Keeling is quite the heel managerial man.

Clauses and Claws...es

First off, awesome name! Secondly the explanation of the differences between Monkeys and Apes had me laughing out loud and everyone in my office staring at me like a weirdo. Eugene Dewey will get his rematch for the FIST, but it wont be tonight, it will be at the next PPV DEFIANCE ROAD. AWESOME SEG!

I Want My Shot
Jake Donovan wants to invoke some old expired rematch clause from his title reign. Harmony tells him to earn it! Noice!

SOHER TITLE MATCH
Harmony gets a pretty quick win here over Curtis Penn. Wasn’t as contested as I thought it would be but not a bad match at all. Sets up the next feud perfectly as Jake Donovan is checking things out at ringside.

Honoring Your Agreement
This was a weird seg, but very good. I am way into the Omega character now, after at first thinking it was a little off. Interested to see where this goes, love that its always “we” in everything he says. SUPER MYSTERY THEATER3000

Main Event
AMAZING MATCH! Muy Fantistico! Loves this from start to finish, elevates Sharp, while elevating Troy as well. Looking forward to using this for our angle ;)

Fracas:
After the match some serious ISH goes down! Box shows up and is ready to pay Lindsey back for her viciousness at Ascension! This whole deal just FEELS like a main event storyline. I am absolutely jacked up for this arc after this show.

GREAT WORK EVERYBODY!

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

Seat of Power
I think this was an awesome intro to the show and add its on mini storyline to the Evan's character. Yes she was in charge when Dane left for UTA, but this scene adds a new layer to the role and I think, in a way, intensifies the position, especially with what happens throughout the show. The role definitely hasn't gotten easier with Dane's approval, not one bit

Cake Day Cancellation
The "official" intro to the show, so to speak. Eugene has got that look that in a way helps me connect with him, being a nerd at heart, but in the same way despise him for his sliminess. His attack on the party decor is both humorous and different than what'd you expect from the heel champion who had reigned for two solid years, which I appreciate; this character isn't cookie cutter by any means. Dan Ryan, meanwhile, is the Face of DEFIANCE and embodies composure where Eugene embodies chaotic-ness. Great segment.

Boss Bitch and Queen Bitch
Interesting conversation; I was getting the slight feeling that Troy and Dewey were/are an item like Walker and Evans, but wasn't entirely sure from this segment alone so clarification would be useful. What this segment does well is set up the reaction Troy will receive later in the night after the beatdown from Box.

Murray Brothers vs The Angel City EXXXPress
Very technical, textbook match from Murr. With something like this where there is no backing storyline, I appreciate the simplicity in the story. Little long, in my opinion, for the opening match, but I can tell from it that Murr was eager and it showed. Enjoyable read, through and through.

Dame Una Oportunidad
James (mostly) and I wrote this one so I hoped you enjoyed. James was killing me with some of the stuff he had Walker say (the n-word being the best example), but I'm glad for it because it gave me a chance to show just how El Trebol talks and behaves.

Where's the Beef?
Big fan of the Andy Sharp character, who is an uberface which I can appreciate amongst the other faces on the roster with that certain edge to them. Meanwhile, you get his antithesis in Mikey Unlikely who is what I think was an under appreciated heel in Utah until the end of its time. The character gets at you with its smugness when we (and I'm sure the fans have a certain expectation) that this guy is going to be boring in the ring yet still think himself golden. Enjoyed this segment, feel bad for Sharp that he can never finish his thought, and look forward to when he finally speaks over Unlikely.

Angel Trinidad vs Jason Nata
A nice, different match to follow the opener. Hard hitting with a good storyline to it. With the beast Trinidad is being booked to be, from my understanding, I would've had this match mostly in his favor, but hey, this isn't TEW 2013; these two gents told the road agent they wanted an open match with a decisive victory and they delivered.

There's No Place Like Home
Isn't Andy Murray bald? That's beside the point, of course. I enjoyed the interaction between the brothers and especially enjoyed when Eric Dane stepped into the discussion. Glad to see their spat transition smoothly from UTA to DEF and I know these two are going to do it justice. Really enjoyed the Bobby Dean appearance at the end. I think our two characters were captured especially well in their first lines of dialogue (me about strippers, Bobby about Dairy Queen). Compare that to the Murray's opening remarks and you see just how diverse the state of Utah had become at the end

You Do Not Mess With Curtis Penn
Bummed that Penn lost his angle partner, but it happens. Enjoyable little interview from the character though. Not too much to say on this one.

El Trebol vs Tyrone Walker
I wrote this one, hoped you enjoy. Basic premise was to give Trebol a chance to showcase himself against an established name, in the hopes that he would be at least somewhat accepted in DEF.

Asterisks
Shades of gray in Nata's demeanor as he ponders his recent string of losses in DEF. Enjoyed the interaction between Dusty and FDJ with the New Yorker, nice easy segment compared to some of the heavy stuff in other parts of the show. My only hope is I don't see Jason is this depressed state for too long, else it would bring back memories of segments from the Sabrina van Harrison days that I hope had been behind me. Not that I think that Nata's handler will ever stoop to that quality of writing, but I'm just not a fan of prolonged disheartenment. Thus, in a long winded way, I'm rooting for a Natas victory.

A Warrior’s Call
I liked this segment because it introduced to me the Mushigihara character, which out of all the DEF stars, I knew the least about. It had been mentioned above about Horry coming out and responding, but I felt that would've been similar to the Ryan/Dewey scene and probably would've felt a little repetitive to the fans. I, for one, am willing to wait for Sam's response on the next show

Henry Keyes vs Chance von Crank
Keyes gets the revenge win over a departing cVc. Short, but enjoyable match that served its purpose.

Street Fighted
A great introduction to the character that is Jack Hunter. Murr gets into this character almost more than he does Cayle at times which means my work with him is going to be spectacular. Move over Eric Dane, I'm stealing all of Murr's motivation to make this oddball feud into something to remember.

A Key Interaction
Unlike other segments up to this point, we're left with an air of mystery about the developing storyline; there are layers to this not quite known, but should be fun once they come to light. Interested to see what Jason does with this new character.

Griffin & James vs Super Muscle Bros
I'll be the first to say I'm not a big fan of hot tags in team matches, especially in they occur multiple times in a night. With that said, that was the only detracting thing from the overall match. Hard hitting bout from the four characters that furthers the Team HOSS dynamic, which I love and reminds me of a certain stable who relies on numbers to win matches *cough* Social Outcasts...er...Bullet Club *cough* Rather enjoyable match

Clauses and Claws...es
Really adore the versatility of the Dewey character, that know it all, literal nerd. Plot wise, he gets the match he wants but at a later date

I Want My Shot
Maybe Donovan should learn some facts about mammals, woo Harmony with his knowledge. I honestly don't have much to say about this one other than I'm curious as to what comes out of it.

Southern Heritage Match
Hmmm. . . I don't know, this match just didn't fit the bill of what I had expected from a title match. Don't get me wrong, I think the story behind the match was sound--Harmony needed a clean win over the champ--but the delivery just wasn't as strong as I think it could've been.

Honoring Your Agreement
I was a little thrown off by Evans coming back to her office after having staying it in it for the entirety of the night up to this point; maybe she went to the bathroom and is paranoid of sneaking in to her office, not that it stopped Omega. Mysterious, vague segment that leaves me thinking this building feud between Omega and Evans/Walker isn't a simple one

Main Event
Really did enjoy this match. Troy looks strong and Sharp looks even stronger; I especially like that Sharp countered a move that Troy had used to beat Box and Ryan in the past, real subtle rub to the man. Real back and forth match that does not hurt either character.

Post-Match
Box is sadistic, even more then he had been in UTA from what I saw. Dude's an emotional beast and Troy isn't taking his shit. This is a bloody feud that I can get behind. No titles. Just two people who legitimately hate each other. Great ending to the show.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

Seat of Power: Mark out moment when Dane is revealed to be in the chair. Liked the “Hello Darkness” line almost too much. And honestly this felt like real life and was a good way to cut right into the show. Eric Dane is BACK baby. Good job all involved here as I could see this one play out in my head.

Cake Day: I assume this will be involved in a later segment as well. So maybe leave my comments for when that arrives.

Signs: Yo, brackets made it into this week’s show. Hashtag throwback. Good sign work.

Open: This Eugene segment could’ve used a little editing love, things as simple as capitalizing brand name chips gets missed. And for our little slice of heaven, stuff like that really takes me out of the segment at hand. Also the action of Dan Ryan appearing in the middle of the dialogue, this is something I had a problem with in that other place as well. Just very easy to provide it it’s own little line break. No one would mind. Okay, so reading over. Thoughts: Dan Ryan came off pretty heelish to me here. Like really heelish, which I didn’t like. Eugene was a whiny little nerd, and he gets his title match later tonight. Works to set that all up just wanted Ryan to be less heelish in this promo.

Boss Bitch/Queen Bitch: We are “four” segments in and Kelly Evans has been involved in two of them. Busy night. Why is there a link in this segment? I mean I know why, but why is there a link in this segment. Shouldn’t a segment on a show be able to stand alone on the power of the writers and not need to directly link to the reference work the segment features? It’s early, I’m only on coffee cup number two, so chalk it up to that if I’m “reading too much into it.” Or anything like that. I also didn’t really dig the “He hates me because I have a vagina” line. This whole thing felt entirely too #GirlCharacter for me at points. Which is a shame because it had moments where I was really into this, a few but overall just wasn’t feeling this one. SOOOOO wait, Andy vs. Troy is the ME, not the FIST match that was hyped in the open? #Confused

Angel City vs. Bros Murr: First, while the Roots went to a HS located in South Philly, I don’t know if any of them are really South Philly’s finest or not. I take this as a slight nod from my bae to me, so it made me smile. Nice short first match of the night. Cayle Murray can really take a beating, sold the tag philosophy nicely to me. Andy Murray with a lot of shine off the hot tag, and that finisher is sick.

DUO: Kelly Evans in another segment, as her busy night continues. She’s almost on the Jamie Swayers schedule. So Evans doesn’t wanna sign ETJ but does it because...TY reasons? Okay, fair enough I suppose. Sets up the forthcoming match, which I’m interested to read because ya know it’s a four foot fucking seven midget taking on Ty Walker.

Beef: Another segment, more dialogue breaking brackets that could’ve been a line break all on their own. Sorry to be harping over points and shit, and if it’s done this way in DEF ignore me, but it’s that kind of thing that breaks my read of a segment. Mikey interrupts Sharp, and this HAS to keep happening because it’s a riot. I can see Sharp’s frustrations boiling in my head as Mikey panders to his “fans.” Making Mikey a movie star was the best thing UTAH did. I’m convinced.

Natas vs. Angel: Good match, know the idea Murr has for Natas. Angel looks tough in this one. Well done match.

No Place Like Home: Kind of liked the Wizard of Oz references here. Good work using Bobby Dean. Good stuff continuing this bad blood from the land of the UTAHs.

Penn: Didn’t like the skullfuck line at all. I know Penn is a heel but I don’t like how that plays here. Although this puts over the rematch for MY SoHer title later on tonight it does nothing to further that cause the attention is immediately cast on the new signings, which is where Penn’s newest feud will come from. I understand the need to pivot, it’s just very evident that Penn will lose his rematch and feud with some new blood from this promo. If that’s the point fine, but maybe hold back a bit so the “viewer” doesn’t know the outcome of the match JUST yet?

ETJ vs. Ty: Good match, but I still just can’t buy that this little Lima Bean would be hanging tough with guys much larger than him. This match was a good showcase of spots he can do, and I think it benefits having Ty, who I always thought was a good worker IC wise, putting the match on with him but logistically I get frustrated with El Trebol due to his size and that alone.

Asterisk: Was a bit confused as to Dusty and FDJ being involved here but Dusty is a good vehicle to use for Natas to get frustrations out so I really liked these interactions.

Warrior’s Call: Setting up a feud with Horry, I think I can get behind this. Don’t know much about the character but this small interaction has me looking forward for more.

CVC vs. Keyes: FUCK OFF DAN.

Jack Hunter: Absurdity at it’s finest. Welcome to the world of Jack Hunter.

Key Interaction: This is gonna be fun. Who can figure it out?

Super Muscle Bros vs. FDJ/Dusty: This match makes me excited for the forthcoming DEF Tag Team Title stuff. Good well done match.

Clauses and Claws: Okay so the FIST match ISN’T tonight, okay. But that doesn’t change any previous gripes because no one knew that AT THE TIME of which they occurred. ME set for the forthcoming PPV. Wastes no time. Also - So Kelly Evans is thinking of firing Eugene for going HAM in the ring and punting an inflatable monkey into the crowd but Lindsay Troy gets congratulated on spiking Box in the head? I know this seems like a non issue for pretty much everyone but it doesn’t seem like we are building a cohesive world when something like this happens.

Shot: So Harmony is a heel/face too. CUT TO THE SHIT JAKE she barks like right away. No thanks. There’s way to be forceful for both Ryan and Harmony that don’t come off so God damn bad guy. Like Jake Donovan came off more faceish in this interaction than Harmony did. Like the Penn line about his balls on the bedside table, no thanks.

SoHer: Good match. Pacing was fine. Some of the writing was a bit run on sentence for my like. But I’m not holding that against anyone.

Agreement: MOAR Kelly Evans. Next week, she clearly needs to be in EVERY segment. Cause she had some off this week. I get she’s the boss but she’s clearly overworked RN. At least Evans acknowledges it in this segment, hats off to whomever wrote that. Angus said retract, should be REDACT! This angle has some intrigue and I like it. Ty vs. Omega with some kind of stakes on the line. Good for biz. Strong segment.

ME: Good match write up. Andy Sharp getting some shine. Cool stuff. Nice ending liked it.

Box: Big Baddie being a Big Baddie while the place goes nuts for Troy. Can’t hate on it. This should be a blood feud of somewhat biblical proprtions.

DEFIANCE ROAD is the PPV event at the end of this arc. Euge vs. Ryan is for that show.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

Seat of Power
Didn't like the prose of the intro segment. Felt a bit rambley, too much crammed into one sentence. The first two paragraphs were just extremely long sentences. I'm not gonna call em run ons but they felt as such. Negatives out the way, I dug the content and the dynamic between Dane and Kelly, and Ty just being there was icing on an otherwise delicious cake. Nice and fun playful dialogue that establishes Dane’s future story and solidifies Kelly as in charge. I like how she was worried she was out of power just cause Dane came back, but Dane is all “Nah, you’re doing good.” Creates an interesting dynamic. I like GMs who aren’t dicks. Or twats. Or whatever the gender neutral equivalent of that word is.
Cake Day Cancellation
Nit picks: The show didn't open with this segment, so it's not the first shot of the evening.
Typo: There’s a giant pinata, a I’ve got this huge cake in the shape
Remnant typo: They are jam packed inside the Wrestle-Plex for the post Ascension Fallout!]
& [After a long pass over the darkened ring the shot focuses on the announce booth where the two mainstays of DEFIANCE sit ready to run this mother down.]

Dug Eugene destroying his own pre-planned celebration that has now eluded him. Like Dan Ryan coming out and trying to calm Dewey down. Didn’t like Ryan’s crack about Minecraft and pedophilia, felt a bit out of place / left field, even though I get Eugene’s a gamer -- I like the comment about his guild but the Minecraft thing felt a bit cheap/off. It’s not bad and others may have a differing opinion, but it felt a bit lazy to me. Granted, Ryan’s already won, he’s already thrown his verbal barbs at Dewey for months, so it doesn’t BOTHER me in the slightest, but just feels like a wasted opportunity to me. MAYBE, it’s because Ryan just no sells Eugene’s megalomaniacal rant moments before - but that’s something he would do. I’m not saying it doesn’t fit, but it bothered me for some reason I can’t exactly point my finger to.

Dan Ryan says they can wrestle tonight for the FIST, but… is this one of those inmates run the asylum and Dolph Ziggler can somehow book himself into an IC title match with Kevin Owens situation? - Also, would have liked to seen Dewey accepting the match, even if it required him to be held back by security kicking and screaming. Keebs and Angus get excited at the match possibility without it being truly confirmed.

Overall, very solid segment where I had two minor gripes (minecraft & the challenge made for TONIGHT not paying off until DEFRoad) and a few nit pick typos. A+ storytelling here folks in a new and unique way. You don’t normally see someone destroy their own celebration party because they failed. I dug it. I really dug 90% of it, from the flow to the transition to the story to the dialogue.

Boss Bitch and Queen Bitch
Lindz channeling Renner’s old man from IWD while also making fun of Dewey’s gaming nerdom = yay.
Also love the almost BTS vibe of Lindz watching the crowd play keep it up with the inflatable monkey. It’s the little details.
Thank you for linking me to that conversation with Tyler Rayne. Wade Elliot’s “I don’t want to live in this conversation anymore” was perfect.
Not sure what Kiki and Boy talk is. /Ford lost
Kelly Evans books main event of Troy vs. Sharp. That’s a money match. But, no mention of Ryan challenging Dewey tonight for the FIST? I figure that would be brought up after Ryan’s challenge just moments ago. I’m sure it’s just one of those multiple storytellers / not all information known among the roster things.
It seemed like it just kinda ended once everything got set up. It felt like an SNL segment. Great premise, good middle / lead, and then it just kinda ends.

THE MURRAY BROTHERS vs ANGEL CITY EXXXPRESS
When Rich Mahogany “explodes” through the curtain, he should be surrounded by something that explodes with him. The childish nature in me suggests cream of some kind spewing onto the ramp, causing his future opponents to slip. The realistic person in me wants pyro to explode when he arrives. Either way, it should totally be something that symbolizes the crowd ejaculating at his mere presence.
How big is his banana hammock? Or is his cock actually small which means more room for hotel key cards.
Don Hollywood gets no characterization in his entrance, unless his lack of characterization is his characterization.
Like the Murray boys entrance, they feel like cookie cutter faces, which is good way to introduce complicated faces to a new environment.

Weird Phrasing: d. The ACX stomp away on Cayle Murray for a few moments for Rich is finally ordered to leave the ring, but Don keeps him in the home corner.

Something I’ve been trying to watch out is reusing the same preposition in either the same sentence or very close to one another.

At the end of the match, I read it that Don tagged in Rich and then Andy and Rich fought, but then Andy was dragging Don around the ring after that tag happened, and then Andy/Cayle attacked Don with their finisher. So, Andy and Rich are the legal men, but Cayle pins Don to win the match? Color me confused.

Otherwise, solidly written match, good debut that wasn’t a squash but we all knew where this was going when it started.

DAME UNA OPORTUNIDAD
Word Choice: Jumping backstage, the shot returns to the office of the ever popular Head Bitch In Charge of DEFIANCE,

If we jump backstage, we don’t have to say the shot returns.
This is a nitpicking thing I have about most results. How to do fades & transitions. It is 20% of the reason I enjoyed NFW shows as much as I did.
I feel like there needs to be a take a number system outside of Kelly’s office, considering how many people she’s seen there so far tonight.

I’m envisioning a buddy cop movie starring Ty & ETJr.
Nice fun playful banter between the three. Kelly playing the straight woman like woah. But Ty offering to wrestle ETJr. tonight doesn’t really solve the issue that Kelly brought up, which is that she doesn’t have a little person’s division, because if Defiance did, they’d call it the midgets division and would probably be sued for discrimination.

But I also like how Kelly’s not like, evil, and says TREBOL, you better pin Ty tonight or get the f’ outta here for good. She gives them a match, and I assume Trebol continues to impress her week after week.

“Black History Month is Black Folks Christmas.” is great.

WHERE'S THE BEEF?

GRAMMAR QUESTION: Is it “The crowd respond in kind to the man” or “The crowd responds in kind to the man” - Is respond one of those Toward / Towards grammar things that should die in a river?

I hope Andy pays off the Andy “Just look up” thing, where he shouts it at his opponent who doesn’t believe it, and then something like Molasses or chocolate milk or NICKELODEON SLIME falls from the rafters on the guy. Andy Sharp should be the Marc Summers of Defiance.

Andy Sharp has a solid pure face promo and gets interrupted by recent signee, Mikey Unlikely. MU puts himself over, and then they start using 80s slang from commercials to describe their coming nuptials, I mean feud. Beef? Seems like such a dated concept. It’s something a dad would say.

I wish there was a moment to linger on Andy’s frustration instead of him just heading backstage, but having the match after immediately happen kind of negates that possibility. As a filmmaker, I’d have stayed on Andy and had him fade out, frustrated, but that’s me.

When Andy asks if Mikey wants to interrupt him a third time and Mikey proceeds to do it IMMEDIATELY, that’s a mark out moment.

Mikey, you gotta put up, like, six news posts about MU’s debut at DefTV62, where millions of late night talk show hosts are talking about his choice to sign with Defiance. That’d be fun and sell the story further.

Also, I would have liked Mikey to go “ANDY SHARP! I didn’t see you there.” disingenuously of course.

I dug it. Easy conflict and solid verbal jousting, 80s references not withstanding. I mean, I can’t complain too much. Byron Saxton references Alf and then JBL chastises him with a reference from the 60s… So we’re at least better than that by utilizing noob.

ANGEL TRINIDAD vs JASON NATAS
Nice resilience from Jason, sets Trinidad up as a beast. Dug the limited use of dialogue from the participants. Angel gets the win and moves on, sells Natas’ story of trying to get back to where he once was, and keeps Angel in BEASTMODE for the upcoming DOC tourney.

Also, TYPO: the gritty New York stomps his way down the ramp
Should be New Yorker I imagine.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
As someone who followed UTAH by listening to their radio shows (half listening), this segment caught me up on the Cayle/Dane/Bobby Dean dynamic, played with a bit of tension, and set up Andy to play a significant role in this feud of theirs. But I gotta know, did BOBBY DEAN GET HIS DOUBLE DIPPER!?! /me NEEDS TO KNOW

Easy antagonizing seg where the personalities played off each other and didn’t outshine one another. I assume this was what a good UTAH seg woulda looked like.

(Guys, around here I realized I should probably speed up my feedback a bit if I have any hope of doing this ever again.)

YOU DO NOT MESS WITH CURTIS PENN
I like Penn forcing to be reintroduced. Simple arrogant heel move. I hope he follows through with his words and shows that he is truly the definition of Defiance. That all these others are just that, more people getting in his way.

It’s weird, this is the first “Kelly Evans is a bitch” or “Kelly Evans is the reason everything sucks” I see on this show. So, it seems like Curtis Penn’s character is throwing a bitch fit that wouldn’t be well received. The fact the crowd doesn’t boo when Curtis says “This place became less Defiant the day Eric Dane handed the reigns over to Kelly” makes me think the crowd is on Curtis’ side. Judging by Ascension and their reactions tonight, I don’t see that as the case.

Minor quibble in a solid heel segment that does what it sets out to, re-establishes Heel title-less Curtis Penn as a man on a mission.

EL TREBOL JR vs TYRONE WALKER
Here's how you write ETJr. Simple, elegant match I want to see ETJr have his Dean Ambrose/Brock Lesnar moment, where the little fucker keeps getting to his feet and showcases inhuman resilience. Solid logical debut for the pint sized luchador.

I gotta wonder how long our shows would be if we wrote matches in the old school style. 120 pgs? 140? Glad we get the shortened results here.

ASTERISKS
Dusty & FDJ throw Jason a pity party. Natas wants none of it . Not sure what Dusty and FDJ are looking for here (besides a fight and beer), but they’re oddly sympathetic to Natas in a way the rest of the Defiance locker room(And Angus in particular) wouldn’t be.

Seems setup for Natas to take a step in the right direction soon. Can only loose so many times to set up the angle that you’re a loser. I’d like to see him lose three more times and then shockingly beat Eric Dane or someone like that.

A WARRIOR'S CALL
Using Lance Warner twice in a night makes this segment feel little off. “My guest for tonight…” would usually suggest only one guest, not two. But that’s FORD NITPICK.

Good return segment. Set up feuds and history from the past for a somewhat newish reader, making motivations and characterization fit. Nothing I would have particularly changed. Like the small segment of fans Mushi has cultivated. Should remain a thing, but remain contained, until Mushi proves himself back on DEF tv and goes all DOC champ in like, nine months or something.
CHANCE VON CRANK vs HENRY KEYES
Airship pirate. Brusch lets his video game nerd out even with a bell clappah like Keyes.

Solid rematch from Ascension. Falls into the WWE PPV rematch from the previous night thing but I like it. Esp with what’s going on, Keyes getting the duke kinda sorta seems to end this shindig.

BELL CLAPPPAAAAAAAHHHHH…
STREET FIGHTED
Oh God. SKIP. #streetfighted

Another Lance Warner seg. He’s all over tonight.

I can’t imagine Keebs thinking Angus would love Jack Hunter :). I bet he’d be fucking with him.

Ford Note:
DDK: Fasten your seatbelt, Angus… this is only going to get weirder.
Angus: WHY WOULD YOU THINK I’D LIKE THIS!?

I like that Jack Hunter is not human.
I don’t like Moooooo. Seems too stupid crazy rather than just violent crazy.
Like ETJr. involvement, leading to an angle?

I didn’t know how Jack Hunter would go with Defiance, but Murr pulled it off. STILL, I imagine the Faithful will probably hate him.

This seemed like an inside joke that’s maybe gone on too long. But it’s still hilarious.

A KEY INTERACTION
Is Keyes the new Doctor Curiosity and he's gonna perfect human cloning? Maybe give Jack Hunter a human body?

Strange segment that left me puzzled. Liked the interaction but unsure of payoff. Perhaps I'm missing something from past or future. I look forward to decrypting this mystery.

DUSTY GRIFFITH & FRANK DYLAN JAMES vs SUPER MUSCLE BROS
Weird Read: Turning on a dime, the Faithful begin roaring as The Nuge begins burns that dubstep garbage off the airwaves

Solid paint by numbers rock n roll express style tag team match. Dusty is in peril, makes hot tag, then Angel with the distraction setting up an epic hoss battle and giving a new tag team a win over two singles allies.

I'd consistently give most matches on this show 2 ½ to 3 ½ star ratings. Nothing exceptional, but solid and good story telling and great for us readers to digest quickly.

Father keeling is still the man. I like dusty’s new role as legacy character.

One thing I felt a bit off, and I mentioned it earlier during cvc/Keyes, it's wwe booking where one guy wins a match at the ppv and the loser gets his win back on the next show. I liked this match better, changing the dynamic to a tag affair makes this feel like a different beast, even thou it accomplished the same thing.

CLAUSES AND CLAWS… ES
This should have been placed earlier in the show in my opinion, maybe after the first match of the night. Then, I'd have moved lindz’s seg (even though I loved the moment of the def crowd playing keep it up that wouldn't work if you moved it) to here or a little earlier.

That said, I dig Dewey, and Evans comes across as a good natured face commish, not caving in to the demands of a raving lunatic but upholding her deal of the defiance contracts.

I like Dewey’s nerdish insistence of the difference between monkeys and apes. Fleshes him out further than just a freaking video game nerd.

Kelly Evans should want to take the rest of the arc off, from how many people entered her office today. She should have a guard with an automatic machine gun and landmines posted outside.

I WANT MY SHOT
Wish we heard loud cheers when Harmony is revealed with her SoH belt.
Harmony’s reaction should have cut off Jake Donovan’s long diatribe about sin. Woulda been more believable. I could imagine Jake trying to be all serious about Pride and Harmony being “JEEBUS you startled me!”

Here’s my suggestion:

Jake Donovan: You know what they say about pride...
Harmony almost leaps out of her skin at the sound of Donovan’s voice, her hand immediately heading over her heart.
Harmony: Jesus Christ! Don’t creep up on me like that.
Jake Donovan: It’s a sin you know, and sin leads you to burn.
Harmony cocks her hip to the side and raises an eyebrow, clearly not impressed with Donovan’s ramblings.
Harmony: Get to the point, Jake. Some of us have better things to do than stand here all night to try and decipher your cryptic shit.
Jake Donovan: I want my opportunity at the SOHER.

Dug Jake digging into the past to say he deserves a shot, and Harmony saying “What have you done lately?” Easy conflict of interest and Harmony doesn’t dodge, she just says she wants to face people who’ve earned the shot, giving more value to the title.

That seems like a waste of a pyrokinetic fireball at the end there. I dig the concept, but it should be used sparingly. It seems like this was just thrown in there for some characterization / repetition. I dunno how well established Jake Donovan’s fireball is, and if this is establishing it for the future, I’m game. But if it’s well established, it seems egregious and extraneous. Takes away from the lethality of it.

SOUTHERN HERITAGE TITLE MATCH Harmony vs. Curtis Penn
Penn arriving like it’s Wrestlemania V is a nice touch. Harmony reminds me of Bret Hart meets Bailey - with her hugging the fan in the crowd with the sign as she enters.
Very back and forth match, quick but descriptive. I think Harmony got a bit too much offense in there during the beginning and middle sections. Her finisher can be put over as a “Lock out of nowhere and you’re done” beast, but she showcased other feats of strength / agility / smarts in this match with Curtis. Dug the interaction with Jake on the outside, playing with a lot of moving pieces made this short match a stand out in my eyes.
Curtis losing because of his pride echoes Jake Donovan’s conversation with Harmony earlier in the evening. Solid storytelling.

HONORING YOUR AGREEMENT
I love Angus, but I hope Omega destroys him for what he says during this segment. It would be such a way to put Omega over as an UBER-Heel. Cause while Angus is kind of a dick and cheers bad guys, he’s kind of the heart and soul of Defiance in a way.

I wish the camera lingered / showed what picture was on the wall. If this means Omega vs. Ty or Omega vs. Dane I’m on board. I love Ed, and he has created the perfect monster in Omega for Defiance. He’s 911 + Psycho Sid + Tazz, with a debt to settle.

This is one of the more intriguing where are they going segs on the show. /me gives Ed some rum.

MAIN EVENT: LINDSAY TROY vs ANDY SHARP
Great match. Remember this for when Sharp turns heel, if it EVER happens. It could be the fuel that ignites the fire one day... Here’s where it starts, if it ever happens :). Fighting through bruised ribs in his first main event, Sharp looks crisp and loses nothing from eating the tap from Troy. It only puts him over as a fighter, which is exactly what Defiance loves. I liked how Defiance got into Troy when she got a bit more unforgiven / blood thirsty. I’m curious if that’ll continue through the next arc and solidify Troy as the next FIST in question.

Good main event. A face vs. face dynamic is hard to pull off but you got me to buy into it and enjoy every moment. Kudos.

The show of sportsmanship from Andy is a great character trait. I tell you, in six months, the best two faces in Defiance will be Andy Sharp and one of the Murray’s. Troy would be there, but I wonder if she’s over indulge in the violence of Defiance and succumb to it’s power.

For the post match attack, if I were Bronson Box, I’d totally gouge out one of Troy’s eyes and turn her into Nick Fury :).

Troy playing the ravaged face after a Bronson attack and asking for more. It’s Ambrose/Lesnar. It’s what I always do with Harmen. You stole it and it’s awesome and you’re welcome and fuck yeah. It’s perfect to make Troy a Defiant Icon.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
This is almost a post Wrestlemania show, in terms of content. Dewey throwing a fit during his celebration. Troy's defiant stand against Bronson Box after she carved him up like Turkey. Andy Sharp solidifying himself as a main player. Harmony stepping up to another level as the recent SoH champ. Even if we didn't have the influx of new talent, this is a changing of the guard.

I would have liked more Dan Ryan on this show. He just accomplished his goal of becoming the Fist of Defiance, and all he does is rub it into Eugene's face in the opening in ring segment. I figure Ryan would enjoy his first night of being a champion a bit more.

This is an 85-90% perfect show, with 100% good ideas, and I'm interested where things evolve moving forward. If we aren't considered the next member of the big four after UTAH closed, I'm turning in my geek / nerd e-fed ID card and firebombing picbase feds to death.

Also, wtf Keyes? I'm confused, but BELLCLAP SON.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

Seat Of Power
I liked this segment. When I had another character in Defiance back in 2014, Eric Dane was in charge and Kelly Evans had a big voice in how things went. But when Eric Dane left to try out UTA, Kelly slid into the role of running the company. Now that he's back, you would think Dane would slide right back into that seat of power...not so fast, to keep continuity, he allows Kelly to stay in that position. Nicely done.
Cake Day Cancellation
Aaaand Eugene Dewey is not a happy camper. Something tells me this isn't going to be a good night. But hey, there's nothing like a bunch of signs to make ya feel better. Nope, cheetos goes flyin and its obvious that Eugene isn't amused. Then business really picks up when the new FIST champion comes out and a back and forth ensues with a match announced between the two. Definitely can't wait to see this one.
Boss Bitch and Queen Bitch
Kelly Evans and Lindsay Troy in the office, discussing Bronson Box. I don't know if it is stupidity on Lindsay's part or that she really thinks she can compete with Box, but there are guys who want no part of that man. Or maybe she is the baddest bitch on the roster. Yeah, this is going to be interesting.
The Murray Brothers vs Angel City Exxxpress
I liked this match, Andy and Cayle Murray made a strong showing and took it to Rich Mahogany and Don Hollywood in their debut match. It was back and forth for the better part of the match which was expected, but then the Murray's take over and Cayle gets the win. Again, a good match.
Dame Una Oportunidad
El Trebol Jr is now in Defiance. That in itself is a win / win. Sign him Kell, damn.
Where's The Beef?
Whoa, Andy Sharp cutting a segment and once again it is Mikey Money sayin "not so fast". I like the slow pacing on this and the tease for next week. Definitely something that grabs my attention.
Angel Trinidad vs Jason Natas
Nice match between the two.
There's No Place Like Home
The Murray Brothers are backstage when Eric Dane makes his presence felt. Being the typical bad guy, Dane almost goes to blows with Andy, while talking trash to Cayle. Yep, the Eric Dane we've all grown to love. Even an appearance by Bobby Dean, you can't get better than that.
You Do Not Mess With Curtis Penn
Damn, tell us how you really feel. I liked this heel promo from Penn, basically throwing it down that to go anywhere in Defiance, you must go thru him.
El Trebol Jr vs Ty Walker
Once again ETJ proves to be one tough son of a gun by giving Walker everything he could handle, and more. A well written match that didn't need a suspension of belief. Although, it is difficult watching Walker wrestle as a face. But only because I've spent a better part of almost 18 years watching him as a heel.
Asterisks
Now this is a segment I can really enjoy. Natas is down on himself, upset at yet another loss and FDJ and Dusty Griffith come in. Dusty tries to show the silver lining and it just pisses Natas off more. Right at the end, Natas composes himself and shows a brief bit of confidence. Will he be able to turn around the misfortunes?
A Warrior's Call
Um, not familiar with Mushigihara, but that's my fault. I liked the segment, it was nicely done but I see the challenge to Sam Horry who is a mainstay in Defiance. Will be interesting to see how Horry responds.
Chance Von Crank vs Henry Keyes
A good match between the two with CvC actually looking the part of a heel with bailing out of the ring and Pixie adding the distraction. Keyes is able to get revenge for the previous loss.
Street Fighted
Welp, there goes the brain train. Jack Hunter is in Defiance. God help us. Starting with El Trebol Jr.
A Key Interaction
Umm...yeah. Okay, I think I missed something here and need to go back and re-read.
Dusty Griffith and Frank Dylan James vs Super Muscle Bros
So far, match of the night. A lot was taking place in this match, including Angel Trinidad getting involved. A big time win for the Super Muscle Bros in taking down Dusty and FDJ.
Clauses and Claws...es
Kelly Evans being, well...Kelly Evans. She isn't amused at Eugene Dewey's temper tantrum earlier in the night and makes that perfectly clear. She also tells the former FIST of Defiance that the rematch which had been agreed upon earlier, won't happen until the PPV.
I Want My Shot
Jake Donovon catches Harmony backstage and wants a shot at the SOHER. I like this one, with Harmony showing she isn't afraid to tangle with the big boys. Personally, I think Jake is sitting pretty here. With Harmony wrestling Curtis Penn, what kind of shape will she be in when Jake finally does get his match?
Southern Heritage Title Match
Harmony shows herself to be legit with a successful title defense against Penn, even with Jake Donovon coming down to ringside.
Honoring Your Agreement
Kelly Evans playing with fire, but since when does she not play with it? In just coming back to Defiance, I'm not familiar with the agreement in question...but definitely watching this one going forward.
Main Event: Lindsay Troy vs Andy Sharp
Lindsay Troy, what a match in taking down Andy Sharp but it is what happens afterwards when Bronson Box get a measured sense of revenge by unloading on her. However, Troy shows her mettle by spitting it back in his face which seems to enrage the War God even further. Definitely Main Event worthy.
Overall:
Some of the material I'm familiar with, but it shouldn't take too long to get back into the groove with things. With that said, a good read.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

Seat of Power

"Hello Darkness, my old friend" - line of the night right away. All downhill from here. Seriously, some of my favorite things to read (and write) are conversations between longtime and longtime-established friends, where they don't have to say what's up for you to know what's up, but you get the gist.

Cake Day Cancellation

Oooh, freudian slide at the "former" Fist of Defiance. That's gotta hurt. :) The revelation in Dewey's face, along with the slow dissolve of perkyblonde's perkiness was priceless.

Andy Murray certainly has a place in this business!

Starting the show proper with Dewey, thusly being interrupted by Dan Ryan was the right way to go. And my goodness, I'd forgotten what an arrogant bastard Ryan can be when he wants. But this was an efficient, effective setup, gives us our main event, and provides appropriate levels of hype. Aces all around.

Boss Bitch and Queen Bitch

It's already been stated, but there should've been better communication about the main event of the night through the show. That aside, there was some good interplay between the women, with inside comments that someone new to the show might not understand - it's the blessing and curse of the episodic storytelling.

I will say that starting backstage, then going to the ring, then going back to a backstage segment was a little dragging on the show at this point. I understand the need to have a buffer between the in-ring mic spot and the first match, but with that in mind I don't know that we needed to meet Eugene Dewey outside and essentially follow him all the way in. Cold showing his reaction to the celebration, maybe with a facepalm and an annoyed lampshade would've been just as effective.

The Murrrrrrrrrrray Bros vs. Angel City Exxxxxxxxpress

Rich Mahogany! I missed that perverted bastard.

I know some people can't wrap their minds around summary style but I think it works best for a weekly or bi-weekly show: it can showcase the details of a match while highlighting what matters and ignoring what didn't, all without having to worry about interspersing witty commentary throughout. And yeah, this was a definite long form summary but I think it succeeded admirably. Enjoyable read.

Dame una Oportunidad

Fourth segment of the night, and third involving Kelly Evans. I know she's The Boss but there should be a few lieutenants about just to keep overexposure to a minimum. In the FWO, there were four senior road agents put in charge, each with equal power and personalities, and when you added the junior member Poison Ivy to the mix, there were plenty of authority figure types to use without any one getting used too much. Not saying anything negative about this one at all - the interplay between Ty and ETJ and Evans, and signing the match for later in the night were effective at moving the story along. Trebol remains an awesome find. Glad he moved in from Utah.

Where's the Beef?

"Fatas..." "NATAS."

That's how to write an effective color commentator. Little digs that made Heenan so glorious to listen to are easily seen between Angus and DDK. One thing, though - "Sharp shrugged in the moment while Christie moved onto his next question" - so far the match(es) have been written in past tense while the segments are written in present, except for this line.

Structure aside, Mikey absolutely stole this one out from under Andy Sharp. Perhaps if this was the reaction Lance Mikes had gotten in Utah, Utah would still be around. Yes, I blame Lance Mikes. Still, Mikey goes over huge as an egotistical dick heel, and Sharp goes over as an insulted babyface, one that the fans want to see kick Mikey in the dick. That's "feud - selling 101."

Angel Trinidad vs. Jason Fatas...NATAS

"Just like they did out here with Sharp and Unlikely" - no punctuation. Little things can kill, people... little things can kill. Also:

Darren Quimbey:
Your winner of the match, but pinfall… ANGEL TRINIDAD!

Again, nitpicks aside I think it was a good match, it gave both wrestlers a nice bump in their respective levels of heat.

There's No Place Like Home

"Debutants" - Isn't that what they call celebrity whores like Paris Hilton? Is Murrr partying with the big boys? :)

Good in-the-head conversation between the Murray boys, and of course it was broken up by Eric Dane so I guess we're continuing that story. No complaints here.

"Don't get cute with me, Dorothy" - I kind of want to see the Dane/Cayle relationship mirror the one on Scrubs between Dr. Cox and JD where Dane will always refer to Cayle by a different girl's name.

Also: Anything ever that contains a Bobby Dean cameo is the best thing on the show.

You Do Not Mess With Curtis Penn

Being introduced as 'The Most Amazing Wrestler Alive' reminds me of 2 Cold Scorpio in the ECW days always correcting the ring announcer, that he doesn't weight 238, he weighs 235 and I hope that Penn does that every time he shows up. If not, he should start. That said, when Penn says he's going to 'skullfuck' Harmony into submission - are we broadcast on TV? Is this internet only? Censorship of vulgarity should be something either consistent or nonexistent. If Curtis Penn is the loosest of the loose cannons, that's one thing - but shouldn't the company put him on a three second delay in that case?

El Trebol Jr vs. Tyrone Walker

This was a nice little match, with no pun intended toward ETJ. Tyrone was written perfectly, as an athlete who wants to win, but who also is pulling for Trebol to look good and to show Evans what he's got. The little touches like that make this one for me - the curt nod, the pulling by the mask (but not to pull it off), etc. Aces.

*

I can feel the motivation resonating off my computer screen, and I can hear the Rocky theme somewhere behind me.

A Warrior's Call

We don't see this enough - a manager who is the actual mouthpiece for a wrestler. Usually a wrestler in the real world has a manager if they can wrestle well but not cut a promo - in the game, if you can write you can write, so a manager can be largely superfluous.

Chance von Crank vs. Henry Keyes

Short and bell clapped to the point.

Street Fighted

I sprained my mouth trying to pronounce 'Undefeatifiable.'

A Key Interaction

Nothing really happened here. Laying groundwork for the next thing I suppose. Nothing bad to say about it, just no frame of reference at the moment.

Dusty Griffith and FDJ vs. Super Muscle Bros

Impressive debut, and a continued story for Dusty and Trinidad. Not much to say about it.

Clauses and Claws...es

More Kelly. At least she had a mid-show break to rub one out if she wanted. Anyways, I enjoyed the banter with Dewey, and - calling back to the show open, I've been enjoying the contained arc that Kelly has had on this show, from up to down and everywhere in between. We have to wait for the Dewey/Ryan rematch, which is cool - it just makes us want it more.

I Want My Shot

Planting seeds for what will clearly be a Harmony defense against Donovan. Textbook, but effective.

Harmony vs. Curtis Penn

I feel like this match was less about the title and more about getting the personalities of the wrestlers over. Not sure why, but just reading the prior segment and the match itself, I never felt like the belt was in danger. Not a criticism; like Ford said, this show felt like a post-Wrestlemania RAW which means that we really needed to see the kind of Champion Harmony is going to be, and Curtis Penn was the right kind of shitty bastard to display against. Aces on both ends.

Honoring Your Agreement

Hopefully this is the end of the night for Kelly. She needs a drink. Nice consistency with her office 'mockingly' named the Pleasure Domes. More F-bombs... where do we broadcast? Glad to see Tyrone Walker stepped inbetween, but I feel like this is gonna spell trouble for Ty in the near future.

Main Event

This was a main event. The banter at the start was glorious, and the commentary was used effectively sparingly. Leading the finish into the Bronson Box interruption was a great transitional spot that once again answers the eternal wrestling question - What's next?

Overall

It was a rebuilding show. Things were blown off or escalated at the PPV, so this needed to be a new chapter, and I felt like it was. All of the segments and matches either started new stories or added heat to existing ones. That's probably one of the best things that can be said about a show, no matter what: there wasn't a stitch of filler.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

SEAT OF POWER
Me and Justin.

CAKE DAY CANCELLATION
Dan Ryan is a dick with that line about waiting for this precise moment to take back the FIST for himself. LOL at Euge going full gamer with the "I'm going to teabag you for good measure" bit. What I like about this most of all is that it sets the stage for Euge vs Ryan now, rather than wait weeks for it to happen and be "made officially." Not much to say to be honest, it's quality yet again and I look forward to how this continues to play out from now to DEFROAD.

THE BOSS BITCH & QUEEN BITCH
Lindz did like 99 percent of this with my assistance near the back end. Again, what I like the most is that is quickly establishes Troy vs Boxer for this arc and the ASCENSION wasn't some one time deal. And again, at this point, with the quality never in doubt, I relly can only look at the finer details like, does this get things rolling in the direction they need to be headed? Yep, it surely does. So, good.

MURRAY BROTHERS vs ACX
MURRRRRRIATOOOO! You can never have Angus call it anything else from here on out, Murrr, it's just the way it is now. Good match, solid tag team theory with Cayle playing Ricky Morton so Big Murr can play the hot tag. Like the finish for the Murr's too, pop up into a European Uppercut, that's solid stuff. Good debut for the Brothers.

DAME UNA OPORTUNIDAD
Me and Greg, we had fun.

WHERE'S THE BEEF?
Details, details, good face work, good little bit of hype for the main event of the show, just good details that weren't ignored. Mikey acting like he's better than everything in DEFIANCE, taking shots a few people along the way, being very Anti-DEFIANT while making it clear that the only reason he's here is because of the paycheck being cut is perfect... And knowing this is just the beginning, not even just for Sharp/Mikey, but Mikey in general, good stuff ahead.

ANGEL TRINIDAD vs JASON NATAS
Hahaha at the Angus bit calling Mikey "Hollywood McFuckass." I'm easily amused, sorry. This is a good tale of two stories, you got Angel who is laser focused and it's seemingly, and easily, falling right into the place. Then you've got Natas who is ascending slowly, the improvement is being seen, but it's a struggle with every step. Natas gets the rub by actually slowing Angel down, actually doing some damage, but Angel is just younger, stronger, and much closer to his peak than Natas. A good veteran test for Angel, another almost coulda been for Natas. When these guys meet again in the future after Natas finally turns the corner, this is gonna be even more fun.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Loved everything about this segment. The Murray's don't back down, Dane is feeling even more cocky and dickish now that he's on his home turf, and the Bobby Dean interrupt was perfect, all it needed was an Eric Dane Facepalm. It gives you a quickie spot of detail on what's up between Dane and Cayle, which is what's needed for everyone not familiar so this can pick up from where they left off.

YOU DO NOT MESS WITH CURTIS PENN
Short, simple, pure Curtis Penn, basically calling everyone out and putting his dick on the table for the new guys to try and measure up to, good stuff all around. Just sucks you got effed in the aye again by a lameduck partner. I like that you're taking it in stride and already have something lined up for the rest of this arc and next arc. Good on you, Jon.

EL TREBOL JR vs TYRONE WALKER
This was exactly what it needed to be, it allows ETJ to look competent against a veteran player whose done or seen it all at one point or another. Only thing I would/should have added was having Ty help the kid up, dust him off and present ETJ to the Faithful with one last vote of confidence. Otherwise, really fun read, no complaints whatsoever. I am thinking that one of ETJ's bigger moves should be getting his opponent down and then throwing some nasty ass shotgun dropkicks to the skull. Say what you want, but a hundred and whatever pounds flying at your skull should do the trick. Just gotta be able to present it the right way and it works.

ASTERISKS
Me, Murrr and Justin. It was kind of rambly, I admit, probably one of those things that should be an UNCUT seg (hah, see what I'm doing here?)... That said, it's meant to continue building upon Dusty and Jason's first meeting last arc and the match they had. Still, had fun knocking this one out with Murrr in a matter of minutes, with Justin on the last sweep for general stuff and FDJisms.

A WARRIOR'S CALL
A nice return spot for Mushigihara, DO NOT FUCK IT UP, RAWB!... Also, I still say this should have had Sam involved, but my job is to give my opinions/suggestions, it's on the handlers to decide how they want to proceed. Still, it's good, just keep it focused, Rob.

CHANCE VON CRANK vs HENRY KEYES
Fucking SIGH. No offense to Ben, I'm just done with this situation, so I mostly skipped right over this since I have no doubt in your ability to do a short match that does what it needs to do... and I'm a-okay with that. I officially wash my hands of this situation from here on out, some of yall can take your shots for a little bit, but after that bit is up it's time to move on.

STREET FIGHTED
I don't even give a fuck that this makes no sense whatsoever being on DEFtv for any reason whatsoever. This segment makes me want to create a fed solely for Jack Hunter type characters. This segment alone has made my day, thanks Murrr.

A KEY INTERACTION
I know a little bit of what Jae and Ben have going on here... INTRIGUE!

DUSTY & FRANK vs SUPER MUSCLE BROS
Me.

CLAUSES AND CLAWS... ES
Short, sweet, to the point, and finalizes when Euge vs Ryan the rematch for the belt happens.

I WANT MY SHOT
Okay, I read this segment AFTER I had read some of the feedback and thought you guys completely forgot to mention my direction about Jake putting over the fact that he owns a pinfall over Harmony. I was ready to complain about that, but you got it covered, so I'm good. Kinda sorta facey on Harm's part, but again, this is why I do not pre-read and make edits or suggestions, so feedback from the populace actually matters. Still, it gets the ball rolling and I'm happy with that.

SOUTHERN HERITAGE TITLE MATCH
I will agree with some of the feedback that this needed a bit more in terms of heel dominance in the middle, instead of seemingly keeping this even throughout. Not bad, just needed a little more is all.

HONORING YOUR AGREEMENT
Ed and I haven't decided (or I'm just not remembering at the moment) what the mysterious agreement was, but this is going to be something that goes on for a bit... So stay tuned.

MAIN EVENT
Like the little babyface trading of "cheapshots" that starts this with the "can't blame me for trying, right?" Shows they're both ready to go for it in this match. Didn't stop for more notes, because this was just a really fun match, easily the best of the show, and what a way for Sharp and Troy to have their first ever match against each other. Really, really good stuff... And of course, when it comes to just writing straight up craziness? No one does it better than Evan. I can't tell you how giddy I am to watch the BIG TWO programs of this arc develop and play out. I also LOVE that the story has turned Lindsay Troy into a COMPLETE DEFIANT, she's not some outsider from EPW/PRIME's past glory or splitting time with LoC, Troy is a DEFIANT through and through.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I love that after all the fuckey (most of it on my part), this show came off without a hitch. I love that there were no glaring errors in terms of things I had to fix because someone didn't check their formatting. I know there's nitpicky things to point out, like Kelly being used a lot, but that usually happens on the first show of an arc as people try to set things up... But now that we finally have a full goddamned roster, I look forward to people being active and critically fair. Bravo, folks, bravo and thanks.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

If we aren't considered the next member of the big four after UTAH closed, I'm turning in my geek / nerd e-fed ID card and firebombing picbase feds to death.

The "Big Four" are not recognized by DEFIANCE.

DEFIANCE only recognizes talented and somewhat well-operated competition, such as LoC, and UTA before it ended.

The "Big Four" can call themselves "Two thru Five" for all I give a fuck.

I didn't say we would join the merry band of board fed heroes, but c'mon. They should want us to.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

are we broadcast on TV? Is this internet only? Censorship of vulgarity should be something either consistent or nonexistent. If Curtis Penn is the loosest of the loose cannons, that's one thing - but shouldn't the company put him on a three second delay in that case?

We air live on Hulu.

Because we're special.

And we like the f-word.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

I am interested in this.

I agree Kelly is sometimes overused.

I think there should be a pow-wow session on this. It could easily be spun IC that with Dane fully giving Kelly the reigns of DEF she's exhausting herself dealing with every little thing. This could be an easy world-building side angle if somebody wants to help me pull it off.

I keep using Sloan as "head producer / road agent", we've always given Angus lots of weird backstage power... either of those two would be great potential go betweens for Kelly.

EDIT

Or Jane for that matter.

I think if we're going to add these extra authorities, they should be fazed in near the ned of this arc to be used in the next one. Really stretch the Evans character out and then one of the storylines (probably the Omega one, or even the LT/Box one) pushes her to the breaking point and requires the spreading out of power going into the next arc. That way we don't just suddenly have these extra authoritative figures running around on Def #62 or #63 with little build-up to them.

In other words, take this criticism and make it into the plot of Kelly Evans for this arc to bring about the change

This.

I sent an idea to James on how to do it, will leave it to him to share if he wants.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv #61 IS LIVE!

SEAT OF POWER
I’ve grown so used to reading Eric Dane as a subhuman piece of shit over in Utah that it took a second read-through for me to register his positivity in this seg. Great banter from all three characters. “Hello Darkness, my old friend” made me snortlaugh. Pretty glad this itch was scratched early in the show and that Testicle Man has already made his attentions very clear, because it means he can get rolling with the forkings ASAP. Good seg, did everything it needed to.

CAKE DAY CANCELLATION
My word, this was awesome. I thought we were about to roll into a second full-on cold open when it started, but I didn’t mind, because Abigail/Euge interactions were on-point. Signs were funny: thanks for the shout-outs. Eugene’s nerdrage bitch-fit was just absolutely incredible, especially when he punted the goddamn monkey. The whole thing’s just so wonderfully pathetic that it’s absolutely perfect for Eugene’s high-nerd overlord personality, and Dan Ryan’s bulletproof barbs make him the perfect foil. Great segment.

BOSS BITCH AND QUEEN BITCH
When it came to the spiking incident, I think I was probably the loudest critical voice. Been looking forward to this revelatory segment for weeks, so it was cool to see it pop-up so early. “This isn’t the first time I’ve done something like this” is good. “Box and Jane have been shits to me for a whole year” is good. Something’s just stopping me from fully getting behind Troy in this situation, though. I obviously really like the character and I’m not saying she should come-out overly rueful, but I’m still not getting much that makes me think “okay, fair enough.” Maybe I’m just being a shitty reader.

THE MURRAY BROTHERS VS. ANGEL CITY EXXXPRESS
I wrote this.

SPANISH WORDS
Hayzoose, Kelly Evans is having a busy night. Not necessarily anything wrong with that at this stage in the show. Good context on who ETJ is with the shout-outs to his Wildfire Title run/Sean Jackson victory/After Hours GM stint, before giving him the platform to get over on his own merit with the Ty match. Pretty much exactly what we spoke about on radio, really. ETJ is an entertaining little dude and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does in DEFIANCE.

WHERE’S THE BEEF?
Knew this was gonna be good as soon as Mikey told me about it. Petty gripe: “RAAAHHHHHHHHHH!”. I used to moan about it all the time in PRIME, so it’s only right to do it here as well :p. Sharp is very likeable and “I’ve been knocked down, but I’ll get right back up again” is babyface 101. His speech pattern is a little jarring at times (“”Okay, then. Yep. Sucks. Big, fat, floppy donkey balls. Bruised ribs.”) but other than that, no real complaints. Love the idea of the ridiculous, OTT pyrotechnic display for Mikey coming-out and he’s playing the “I am above DEFIANCE” thing very well indeed. These guys have a nice dynamic already and I’m excited for the rest of the feud.

ANGEL TRINIDAD VS. JASON NATAS
Seth carried the water here, I just came-in and tightened a few Natas-related nuts and bolts. Seth really gets the story I’m trying to tell here. Natas just isn’t going to beat an athletic beast like Angel at this stage, but the fighting spirit was sold incredibly well, especially when Natas starts getting back into it mid-match. Really great stuff. Angel continues to look like a freak and Natas keeps making that slow progress. Couldn’t have asked for much more from this.

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
I wrote this with Juicy J. Love that we’re able to keep working together after spending the last 3-4 months of UTA writing segments together every week.

YOU DO NOT MESS WITH CURTIS PENN
LOL, fuck this guy. Good promo. Great heelish excuse for losing his belt, and the paranoid bullheaded reaction to the influx of new guys was well played. Guy wants to dig his heels in and fight for his spot: maybe he’s a little worried about it, but a big-time heel’s never going to admit that. Glad he got some face-time after the ladder war.

EL TREBOL JR. VS. TYRONE WALKER
Good stuff. I don’t think “midget vs. normal person” matches are as hard to write as people suggest: just watch a couple Lucha Underground shows and you’re good to go. It’s kinda hard to go into too much detail on these shorter matches, right? This was well-paced and complimentary to both wrestlers’ styles. ETJ looked like he belongs in DEFIANCE, and that’s the main thing.

ASTERISKS
I wrote this with James.

A WARRIOR’S CALL
Love that the interview stage is getting used on this show. I semi-remember Mushi from the cup of coffee I had here in 2014, and “The God-Beast” is still a fantastic nickname. I also love that all you dudes are putting the new signings over in segments, even in-passing. I thought this was a really good segment. Dante seems like a smart cat, so of course he’s been keeping an eye on DEFIANCE’s proceedings while he’s been away. The Sam Horry call-out makes perfect sense, and Jesus Christ, that’s gonna be one hell of a violent slog. Nice re-introduction for Mushi here.

CHANCE VON CRANK VS. HENRY KEYES
I liked this match at Ascension and fell in-love with cVc in the process, but I’m never too hot for immediate rematches. Does make sense given recent OOC proceedings, but I dunno. I prefer to let things marinate for a little while longer. Gotta make lemonade when life gives you lemons though. Decent, short match that puts Keyes over. Love me a BELL CLAP or two.

STREET FIGHTED
I wrote this. Hope Jack isn’t too stupid for DEFIANCE.

A KEY INTERACTION
LOLOLOL. Jesus Christ, I love me some Henri Key-es. Sure, Van Carver’s intro is a little inauspicious here, but I pretty much know what’s coming with these two and I think it’s gonna be absolutely glorious. Keyes is such a little weirdo, and it’s kinda hard for me to put a finger on what exactly I love about the way he Sherlocks the shit out of Carver, but it’s super entertaining. The next step in this relationship will be more significant than this one, but the groundwork’s laid now. Fun stuff.

FDJ & DUSTY VS. SMB
Love the contrast between these guys. They’re four big hosses, but one side’s all about the flash and flair while the other just wants to punch you in the head… even though SMB are totally capable of doing that too. I think we’ve pretty much nailed the “expanded summary” format at this point and this is another good match. Angel gets involved and boom, there’s your story progression.

CLAUSES AND CLAWS...ES
Eugene is golden on this show… that differentiation between gorillas and monkeys, wow. That initial interaction kinda made the seg, because it’s relatively routine without it. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, though. It’s all about getting the FIST match off of this show and onto the PPV and it does it perfectly.

I WANT MY SHOT
Pretty decent little set-up segment. I like Jake as the creepy weirdo dickhead man. Harmony maybe felt a little over-aggressive though: I like the fire, but there were a few things said throughout this that definitely put me off her a little bit. The message is spot-on, but the tone of the delivery is maybe a little heavy. Still, I’m excited for whatever comes next, and I liked the line about Penn keeping his balls in the bedside table a lot.

SOHER TITLE MATCH
Fine match. Nothing wrong with it, really. Not a fan of immediate rematches, but whatever whatever. Harmony now looks like a very strong champion indeed.

HONORING YOUR AGREEMENT
Liked the opening Kelly line which felt like a little nod to the number of segs she’d appeared in. Another good ‘un. Like the way Ed writes Omega’s dialogue, and the “we/us” thing is really starting to creep me the fuck out. Omega’s really got Kelly by the metaphorical balls. Should be fun to see him enact whatever ideas he’s got in his head. Poor Ty.

ANDY SHARP VS. #MOMCHARACTER
This was comfortably the best match of the night, which is should be, given it’s the main event and gets a little more time than the others. Mom looks great in victory, Sharp looks great despite taking the L. Can’t really ask for much more than that, and Sharp feels like a very important player in DEFIANCE now. All about the post-match, though. Well-written, savage assault. Thought Box pulling-out the Humility Bomb on Troy was a great little storytelling touch. Troy with the ultimate show of “FUCK YOU” at the end to top it all off though. Good job.

Re: DEFIANCE ROAD ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - UNCUT #1 IS LIVE!

Uncut 1 Feedback

Deja Vu - Punctuation is your friend. Tons of Abigail lines just ending without any sort of punctuation at all. It’s pretty glaring as is the second show in a row with an external link. Just draws my eye out of the results and into the editing of said link which isn’t a good or bad thing, it’s just a thing. I liked the reference to Eugene’s monkey vs. ape debate last show, and I’ll be keeping my eye on the Green Bean’s rule over UnCut.

Welcome to the Show - take a shot everytime Angus says MOAR.

The Cool Kids Club - I’m a bit confused upon the initial read as to WHEN this takes place. There’s references to not competing “tonight” but since this show aired on the 28th that timeline confuses me. I imagine this takes place on DEFTV though, at some point - just after? More selling of Keyes keen knowledge of handshakes. I’m confused as to what this box is, confused as to Sharp’s role in this segment in general. I understand that Lindsay Troy’s personal relationships and family bonds are all headline news in Defiance, but I don’t think I need a Tyler Rayne reference in every show. I enjoyed the Keyes line that connected this segment to the one I wrote for our feud.

Really Awesome - Loved the Burt Reynolds line, followed by the D dropping SMOKEY. That’s continuity in the segment, mixed in with humor. Makes me a happy little nerd avoiding work right now. Could’ve used another gloss over as I see that an action line ended up stuck to some dialogue. These two could get out of hand with how vapid they are, but I enjoy it. A touch of Zoolander to these two.

Charity Work - Look at that, a little message at the bottom of the screen telling me when this segment happened. Take notes people, if we’re going to use this show to air “Previously Recorded” stuff make sure we’re mentioning that, as to not confuse people. FUCK YOU MURR, I TOTALLY CALLED IT WAS GOING TO BE JOHNNY DRAMA YOU LYING BASTARD! I really liked the Andy interaction with Mikey. Cayle is all rolling his eyes and Andy has had enough. Can’t wait for Andy to get his hands on Michael Q. Unlikeable.

Scotsmen - One Murray has used the Air Ship and traveled through space and time. THIS is why someone should get their peepers on the show before it goes live. I know no one likes to do this, but this is the exact thing it prevents. Or ya know, we just actually get better at using the backstage script. But hey, took me the whole segment to realize it was LAR. Good segment, liked it a lot. Shame it was bundled with the back to back Murrays. #BackToBack #Drake

Second Verse - So Sam is getting his own spotlight series? Would be nice if the Fight Team maybe expanded the scope of this? Pretty nice segment, liked it from a technical stand point.

Research - Wrote this. Continuing the angle Ben and I have.

A Look Back - I liked this segment, sold the HOSS members and their reactions to the SMB. I liked it.

Old Habits - Eric Dane doesn’t have an Android, does he? Like really? He just seems like an iPhone guy to me! Penn and Dane getting together. Penn going to find dirt on Kelly. Hope we get a Kelly answer to this.

Meanwhile - The lack of editing in this segment makes it quite difficult to read. So does the fourth wall breaking. I had to re-read it twice. It’s a shame cause it’s a good segment, just could’ve used a little love to make it an easier read. Especially with these two.

Job Interview - Greer is back?

Earn My Spot - This was good. Felt a little fake, with LAR recognizing Christie from TV. Defiance is that big in Scotland? But that’s nitpicking. Liked this segment. Set up the Highland Games quite nice.

Harm-O-Knee - FDJ and Harmony, sitting in a tree?

Bodybags - Loved writing this with Evan, can’t wait to write our match.

Prohibition - Didn’t dig this one, maybe I need more time to adjust to Dan Ryan but he was a straight BULLY here. I know he doesn’t fit into the heel or the face tropes because he’s Dan Ryan and all but I had a hard time understanding him here. Is it all from the fact that a seemingly harmless joke of a man offered him a drink of booze that he’s acting like King Shit? Is it the title? Is it both? Lots of things to think about but there’s no revelation. The show ends with nothing - to “the fan.” To us this sets up their already booked match, but the “fan” watching has no idea. I guess that’s good though?

Overall good first Uncut, everyone. I enjoy this style of show and I’m sure as we continue along we’ll get better at it.
