What did we do right?

Again, an easy read. I actually read it all in one sitting in about an hour last night on my phone. Never would attempt that before. The stuff with BRAZEN is getting more and more interesting. It's smart to weave their appearances in and out of the goings on of the regular roster like this. It keeps me engaged while reading it when people I don't know are interacting with people I do.

What did we do wrong?

Were the matches a little powder puff this week? I'm not sure, but that's how it felt. I'm not really complaining. I just need something to go in this section. I was actually fine with it.

Match of the Night?

Penn vs. Walker. Much better. I enjoyed the announcer dialogue and the story. A couple minor typos, but I'm not the resident grammar nazi.

Segment of the Night?

"Pick on someone your own size"

I liked seeing Lindsay Troy interact with the ladies like this. World building is important.

Top Face of the Night?

Lindsay Troy. She was everywhere.

Top Heel of the Night?

Gotta be Eugene. He's the man running things on the heel side right now.

On the Bubble / Who is about to break out?

Harmony getting some face time with the Queen can only bode well.

Favorite Quotes?

Angus:
Better start arranging her funeral now. Mushi is going to crush her like a bug when he gets his hands on her. I’ll miss those legs.

Mark-Out Moments?

I didn't really have a mark out moment.

How was the overall reading experience?

Easy reading. Like I said, I read it in under an hour in one setting, thus the quick feedback. I'm so much more able to get into reading the shows now. Best idea ever.

What did we do right?

The show flowed really well, the rundown was a good way to kick the show off. I am also enjoying the BRAZEN interactions with the roster and I love that they already feel like more like actual characters than just regular NPCs.

What did we do wrong?

I hate to seem like the guy with nothing negative to really say about the show and seem like a copout to this question, but I don't have something bad to sayh.

Match of the Night?

Penn vs. Walker. I can dig the Penn/Booya combination, that works for me. Also... TYRANNOSAURUS WALKER and THE COOL? Yep. that's my jam, too.

Segment of the Night?

Watch Your Mouth... and Your Balls? Hilarious shit right here and a great way to set up the main event.

Top Face of the Night?

Lindsay Troy. All over the show this week (in a good way) and of course, not dealing with any of Troy's bullshit.

Top Heel of the Night?

The Euge. I've kind of skimmed the last couple of shows and read this one and holy shit, Eugene Dewey is such a shithead in the best way possible. Dude has a point. Three on one. Some faces we have here. =P

On the Bubble / Who is about to break out?

Reading this show, Harmony got a good rub from Troy and seems to be moving on up a little bit. It's a simple story beat with Mushigihara finding himself annoyed with the underdog wrestler, but it's been a good one. This is turning out well for both characters, I think, with Harmony showing a never-say-die defiant (har har) attitude and Mushi wanting to kill every bitch in sight.

And what that certain someone is going to say yes to...

[Lord COOL laughs to himself. His confidence.... rising. His morale, boosting.]

CCJ:
....is an ass kicking, of Mongoloidian proportion. Curtis Pencildick. Jonny Boobstrap. WE, challenge you.

[POPPITY POP!]

[Mic drop.]

Angus:
ZOH-MAI-GAW-YAAASSS! TEH MAGGLE-POWARS HAVE MERGED TO DESTROY CURTIS PENN AND JONNY BOOYA! IS THIS MY BIRTHDAY?! BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE ALL OF MY BIRTHDAYS ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

(as an aside, it would be SO fucking hilarious if DDK has to call next week's show solo just because Angus needs to recover from marking out in his pants.)

Mark-Out Moments?

The final of the Corozzo/FDJ segments ended pretty awesomely. I don't know why, but I'd love to see a Texan-influenced Japanese dude name MASSIVE Cowboy come in and murder shit.

How was the overall reading experience?

I second Brunk - holy shit, an easy read once I actually had time to do so (work was horrid dog shit for me this week). A lot of good stories have been advanced this week. Looking forward to Acts of DEFIANCE.

Also, thanks to James for the Kelly Evans mention of the mystery guy. My first time handling this character in a couple years and trying to dust him off a bit, so hopefully he will be somebody you enjoy in the weeks to come.

But that's not all from me, bwahahahaha.

HUNTING MASTODON PART 1
And so the game begins…

RUNDOWN + ABOUT THAT CLEAN AND FAIR THING

Only I edited the rundown at the end, Dames, because the main event wasn’t scheduled publicly, just in case you read it and see the change… ANYWAY… Hah, nice little shot at Ty there, “the best in the business… and Tyrone Walker.” I always like those kind of jabs. Like the Angus line acknowledging MAHBOITAI yet also siding with the heel… KEYBOARD WARRIOR, hah, I would have written Euge selling, yelling at the fans to shutup, etc, then when LT is selling the amusement, have Euge go with the cheapshot… Good stuff start to finish.

WATCH YOUR BALLS… AND YOUR MOUTH

Wrote this with Jon.

MUSHIGIHARA vs BUTCHER VICTORIOUS

Okay I want to point something out, we need to get some real bios up for these BRAZEN guys if they’re going to be used… or at least some kind of basic moveset, even if that’s just a link to a wikipedia page that the character’s style might be based off of.
As for the match itself. I’m not sure if I would have had Butcher get as much offense as he did, or at least not a big finish move to win it. Dunno, I think another flukey win would have been better, but it does keep up with this snakebit run that Mushi is on, so it still works. Dug everything with the post match, look forward to what you intend to do with this.

A DIFFERENT SAM

Short and simple, begins to really intro Sam to DEFIANCE. Just keep it going, Sam, and don’t stall out and ruin any moment you build up.

HUNTING MASTODON PART 2

Evan digging deep on the layout images for locations to use, nice. Also kept it short and to the point, no need for three plus pages of meaningless banter… One issue, FDJ couldn’t have been banned three years ago, since the Wrestle-plex didn’t exist yet, just saying. Minor details, no big whoop (and can easily be corrected if necessary).

A LOOK AT A NEW ALL STAR / BOUT TO BE A DEAD ONE

SETHROW RETURNS! And he’s gonna get it started with one of the BRAZEN kids, food for thought for everyone else who might not have something to do (at any given time). LT dropping knowledge and going #MOMmode on Bigsby and challenges Hoffman. This is basically Lindz with us degenerates haha, dug it.

BRONSON BOX vs MASCARA DE MUERTE IV

Evan wrote the match, I wrote the back end.

ITS OFFICIAL

Liked that Dave put Kelly on equal footing with Ryan (boss, performer). I also SUPER appreciate that you played up her being annoyed (or acknowledging) the lack of respect she’s been afforded given her position. Something that is going to continue to build as Evan and I have ideas. Also the hat tip from Ryan to Evans works well.

YOU BOYS ARE WORKING ON MY LAST NERVE

Wrote this with Evan, it was his call to take part of it out and I saw how we could use that part for material to play with between now and 56 and AOD (twitter, news, one ppv segment, etc). Hope the flow between this and Brunk’s segment works (and the Boxer/MDM4 post match).

PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE

This whole segment was really nicely done, and best of all, it put a newer character (Harmony) in the same orbit as an established character (Lindz). Liked that it added some personality to Carla Ferrari, further played up Iris Davine’s stubborn insistence when it comes to her job, and it set up the PPV match for Harm vs Mushi. Good stuff all around.

LINDSAY TROY vs REINHARDT HOFFMAN

HAAAH you named Euge’s senton splash a Bob-omb! That’s super, truly super. The actual write up of the match was solid, making Hoffman look credible, but not damaging the obviously superior LT. Like that you played up the Euge Senton with the chair as being a thing he’s trying to do, little details like that matter.

HUNTING MASTODON PART 3

MOAR BRAZEN! Also, Nicky being hogtied sounds really, really painful for a man of his size. I anticipate the follow up to this on 56, w00t.

CURTIS PENN vs TYRONE WALKER

Jon had this written weeks ago and just reworked it for new booking, still done well and keeps things moving to where they need them to go.

What did we do right?
The show was on time and easy to read, let’s continue this trend.

What did we do wrong?

Little nitpicky typos, nothing else.

Match of the Night?

Main Event.

Segment of the Night?

Pick On Someone Your Own Size with LT, Harm, Iris, and Carla.

Top Face of the Night?

Lindsay Troy.

Top Heel of the Night?

Eugene Dewey.

Favorite Quotes?

Eugene Dewey:
No games, no funny business, just a clean and fair fight between the very best in this company… and Tyrone Walker.

How was the overall reading experience?

Quick and painless, let's keep this up.
