(FADE-IN: A topographical map of the Great Lakes region of the United States is shown. then appearing slowly in front of the map are large golden letters that spell out GLCW. The letters twinkle as if reflecting light and then the logo fades. CUE-UP: "Are You Ready?" by AC/DC. CUT-TO: The skyline of Detroit from street level. It is sunset as the sun glistens off the steel towers in the background as the camera pans over to the Cobo Hall marquee, next to the larger Joe Louis Arena. The marquee is scrolling "....TONIGHT....GREAT LAKES CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING ....7PM....MAIN EVENT....GOLEM VS. TROY MARTINEZ..." The camera pans down a bit to see a line of people waiting to get into Cobo Hall, some of them notice the camera and begin yelling and screaming. One guy pulls his Red Wings jersey off and begins flexing his muscles, or lack thereof. As the intro of "Are You Ready?" ends and the loud guitars kick in, CUT-TO: The inside of Cobo Hall. The ringside seats are filled with people as about 2500 tickets were sold for tonight's event. The ring itself is shown, with a blue canvas, black apron and black ropes with blue turnbuckles. The GLCW logo is on all four sides of the ring and in the middle of the canvas. Standing in the ring is veteran NFWA and FWF announcer Tony Ross along with his broadcast partner and color commentator, another former NFWA announcer, Rick Wiseman. Both are wearing black polo shirts with the GLCW logo. The crowd has been hyped up by various promos of GLCW's wrestlers and the announcers themselves, and as the broadcast begins, they go bananas. Tony Ross struggles to be heard above the din.)

TONY ROSS: "Hello wrestling fans, and welcome to GLCW First Wave syndicated across the Midwest!! I'm Tony Ross along with Rick Wiseman and we are here in Detroit, Michigan at Cobo Hall for the First Round of the Great Lakes Heavyweight Title tournament! And what an event this should be Rick!"

RICK WISEMAN: "Yes indeed Tony, we have quite a bit of talent lined up here tonight to vie for a chance at the GLCW Title! You got veterans like Michael Manson, Golem, Troy Martinez, and Jobber competing with newcomers like Chris Macmillan, "Showtime" Steven James, "God's Gift" Dean McQueen, and "Lost Cause" Chris O'Neill! Everybody has their minds on one thing, and that is to win that title and take home the gold! I'm looking forward to it!"

T.R.: "All of tonight's winners will move on to the quarterfinals which will be held at the Kohl Arena in Madison, Wisconsin next week on GLCW Riptide! But tonight, in our main event, we have two veterans going at it in Golem vs. "Eradicator" Troy Martinez! Fans, it's now time for me to introduce you to the President of GLCW, Scott Malec!!"

(The fans roar in approval for the most part, but some boos are heard as Malec comes out in a blue dress shirt with a black tie with the GLCW logo on it and black slacks. He stands on the ramp entrance to the locker room and nods as the crowd quiets down)

SCOTT MALEC: "Hello Detroit! (cheap pop) You may remember me as the Co-Owner of the Frontier Wrestling Federation. (crowd pops again) Well, I got tired of sitting around watching other wrestling leagues stink up the place so I decided to come back onto the scene and start over! The FWF was something great, something special. I'm not going to talk about or speculate on why it ended, because by now its old Internet dirt sheet news. We're here tonight to start a new beginning, where we put good old-fashioned wrestling back on the map! It's called Great Lakes Championship Wrestling! You're not gonna see constant stupid and unfunny skits in the locker room. You're not gonna see guys walking around the locker room pointlessly. You're not gonna see any pointless T and A. (crowd boos loudly) All right, all right, you're gonna see SOME T and A....(crowd cheers happily) You're also not going to see constant non-finishes to matches, because ANYBODY who runs in on a match before it ends will be fined HEAVILY! You're not gonna see referees constantly knocked unconscious and thrown around because GLCW referees are as big or as tough as some of our wrestlers! You're just going to see the best possible in-ring wrestling action that we can bring! (crowd roars) Anything less is unacceptable! And best of all, you're not gonna see me on TV every five minutes! (crowd roars again) I know, isn't that great!? But I do have somebody who will handle the problems and complaints here in the GLCW. Somebody who is more than capable of keeping things in line and acting as sort of a lawman. You all probably know him real well."

(CUE-UP: "N.W.O" by Ministry. The crowd goes wild)

S.M.: "Ladies and gentlemen, he's YOUR GLCW Commissioner, KING KRUSHER!!"

(The crowd continues to roar as King Krusher emerges from behind the curtain and stands next to Malec, wearing black jeans and a blue GLCW polo shirt. He raises his arms and soaks up the cheers)

KING KRUSHER: "You know something, I may be retired, but that doesn't mean I can't kick a little ass when necessary! (crowd pops) That's right GLCW, I'm the new sheriff in town, and the law WILL be upheld! And if I need to be a HANDS-ON commissioner, then so be it! So all you clowns in the back that think you're gonna be able to get away with murder here, think again! I have no patience or tolerance for any B.S., and Scott Malec here has saw to it that I am well compensated for taking care of business while he runs the corporate side of things! And as my first order of business, I say let's cut to the chase and get to the action! Take it away Matt!"

(The camera cuts back to the ring where ring announcer Matt Faley stands, wearing a tuxedo, fake tan, and full coiffured hair similar to Michael Buffer, except that Matt is about 20 years younger)

MATT FALEY: "Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for the first-ever GLCW match! This is the First Round of the Great Lakes Championship Heavyweight Title tournament! First, (CUE-UP: "Mechanical Animals" by Marilyn Manson) "From Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 230lbs., MICHAEL MANSON!!"

(The crowd lets loose with the familiar boos for Manson, but Manson does not emerge from the curtain. A few moments pass as Faley looks on in confusion as Manson still has not come out. CUT-TO: The locker room area. A cameraman is following Michael Manson down a hallway, and it seems like Manson is waving him to follow along, as if he wants to document his next move. Manson knocks on a wooden door and a few seconds pass before it is answered. Manson leans up against the wall beside the door as it is answered and Mr. Impossible peeks his head out. Manson quickly spins, grabs Mr. Impossible's hand, and slams it in the door! Mr. Impossible lets out a surprised cry of agony as Manson quickly rushes away and Mr. Impossible goes to his knees in pain. CUT-TO: The ringside area. Manson then sprints through the curtain making a motion at an imaginary watch as if he is sorry he is late. The crowd boos loudly as they saw the attack on the big screen above the locker room entrance. Manson rolls into the ring and leans on the turnbuckle as he mockingly waits for his opponent)

TONY ROSS: "Fans, were not even five minutes into the opening show and Michael Manson has ALREADY performed a sneak attack on one of the wrestlers here in GLCW, in this case its his opponent, Mr. Impossible! Unbelievable!"

RICK WISEMAN: "It's as if he just did it to spite King Krusher who seconds before had vowed not to let any funny stuff go on here in GLCW! Manson and Krusher do have a history so it will be interesting to see how things play out!"

M.F.: "And his opponent," (CUE-UP: "All Fall Down" by Against All Authority) "From Regions Uncharted, weighing in at 215lbs., he is MR. IMPOSSIBLE!!"

(The crowd cheers as Mr. Impossible walks slowly to the ring, agonizing over his hand, which could possibly be broken. He waves off a ringside physician as he climbs into the ring, wearing a black, yellow and green mask that covers everything but his mouth area with black parachute pants and green boots. Even with the mask you can tell that he is really hurting)

T.R.: "Well this is the first match ever in GLCW and its already tainted by a Michael Manson attack! Mr. Impossible is certainly at a disadvantage here with his hand being slammed in a locker room door!"

R.W.: "We don't know for sure if it's broken or not, but I think it's pretty safe to say it is. I've always respected Manson's abilities in the ring but I can do without his attitude and his sneak attacks."

T.R.: "Mr. Impossible suddenly charges at Manson and hits a crisp dropkick! Manson gets right up and Impossible springboards off the bottom rope and hits a spinning head scissors takedown! Impossible quickly mounts the top rope and hits a spinning heel kick!! Wow!! The crowd is loving it as Manson rolls out of the ring favoring his jaw! He needs a breather!"

R.W.: "This will also give Impossible time to shake off the pain in his hand, if that is possible!"

T.R.: "I gotta sympathize with him here but he seems to be doing just fine! Whoah!!! Suicide plancha out to Manson out on the floor and they both go down in a heap! Impossible may have bumped his head on the ring barrier! Both men are slow to get up! Impossible is up first and he pulls Manson up by his hair and throws him into the apron viciously! Impossible slams Manson down and then hits a legdrop on the concrete!! Ouch!!"

R.W.: "It's pretty apparent that Impossible is not happy with Manson here and he had better take it back into the ring before they get counted out here by the ref!"

T.R.: "Impossible rolls into the ring and breaks the 10 count administered by referee Al Marinaro, a former defensive tackle out of the University of Wisconsin, one of the big dudes GLCW President Scott Malec hired as a referee! Impossible pulls Manson up but Manson hits a low blow and falls back on the concrete to collect himself! Impossible doubles over in pain and rolls himself into the ring! Manson slowly gets up and climbs up on the apron! Impossible tries a dropkick but Manson ducks out of the way and Impossible's legs come down on the top rope and he bounces and lands awkwardly!"

R.W.: "It looks like Manson had the presence of mind to duck away from that dropkick. Manson is such a crafty veteran and has been around for a long time in many diffeent leagues. Wherever he goes, a trail of destruction usually follows, and Tony, you remember full well all the trouble he caused in the FWF!"

T.R.: "Yes, I'm quite aware of Manson's tactics, and I'm really hoping we don't get a repeat of that debacle here in GLCW! Manson is back in the ring and he grabs Impossible by his mask and drags him to his feet for a snap suplex! Manson is sporting leather pants this evening which is a good example of his unorthodox wrestling attire! Manson pulls Impossible up and rakes his eyes and then grabs a hold of that injured hand and slaps on a wristlock! Impossible screams out in agony as Manson wrenches on that injured hand!"

R.W.: "It's amazing how a simple move like this can be amplified by an injury! Manson is going to attack that hand like a rabid wolf and Impossible can only hope he can hold out!"

T.R.: "Manson chops Impossible in the chest and he goes down hard, and Manson is standing on Impossible's injured right hand! This is downright vicious! Impossible reaches over and grabs the ropes and referee Marinaro forces the break and Manson takes his time about it! The crowd boos as Manson stares out at them! Impossible pulls himself to his feet only to get his legs kicked out from under him by Manson! Manson goes down and applies an armbar, but he's got a ton of pressure on that hand as he twists the wrist as well! Marinaro is in there checking to see if Impossible wants to give!"

R.W.: "We don't know a lot about Impossible, seeing that he wears a mask and claims to be from some alternate dimension, which could be his way of aggravating oppponents and it probably worked since Manson slammed the door on his hand! I can speculate that Impossible could possibly be a luchador from Mexico judging by his ring garb."

T.R.: "That is a definite possibility but right now Mexico is the last thing on Impossible's mind as Manson is turning that wrist like a screw! Impossible refuses to give in! Impossible gets a few shots in with his lefts, and that one breaks the hold! Impossible slides out of the ring gripping his hand in agony as Manson is quickly up and over to the ropes! Impossible grabs his legs and pulls him down and the back of Manson's head hits the mat hard!! Impossible pulls Manson out and begins chopping away with his left hand! Oh man!! They're feeling those chops back by the concession stands!"

R.W.:"The thing about Manson is, he can take as much as he dishes out! I've seen him take some horrendous beatings in his time and be able to walk the next day and tell about it."

T.R.: "He's absorbing some tremendous blows here as Impossible rolls him back into the ring! Impossible jumps on the apron and waits for Manson to get up! Slingshot body press!! 1.....2.....Kicked out!! Oh he almost had him there with a great move! He had him hooked but Manson was able to kick out of there! Manson is up and Impossible hits a deep armdrag! Another one! The crowd responds in force! They're really taking to the unorthodox high flyer!"

R.W.: "Not only is he exciting to watch, but he's one tough son of a gun to be able to take all that punishment on his hand!"

T.R.: "Impossible charges and hits Manson with a flying face-plant! He flips Manson over and goes up to the top rope!! Swanton Bomb!! Misses!! Mr. Impossible calls that Flying Space Junk but Manson was just barely able to get out of the way! Manson gets up and pulls Impossible up and hits a release dragon suplex!! What impact! I'm surprised that didn't knock Mr.Impossible unconscious! Manson pulls him up and hooks him for a sit out powerbomb!! 1.....2.....NO!! Impossible manages to kick out! Manson goes right back to the arm and hooks another wristlock on, and he's slapping Impossible in the back of the head for insult to injury!"

R.W.: "Well, that is completely unnecessary but what do you expect from Manson!"

T.R.: "Now Manson is going for the mask! He lets go of Impossible's arm and that may have been a mistake as Impossible wriggles free and avoids a Manson elbow drop! Impossible with a body splash! Manson is up and furious and Impossible with a big hip toss! Impossible with a dropkick to the back of Manson's head as he was sitting up! Manson gets up and gets hit with a jumping sidekick right in the jaw! Manson falls into the corner and ohhh!! Impossible just speared him in the corner!! What impact!!"

R.W.: "That knocked the wind right out of Manson! This could be Impossible's chance!"

T.R.: "Manson stumbles around trying to catch his breath as Impossible mounts the turnbuckle! Impossible goes for a flying clothesline!! No!! Manson grabs the arm on the way down and pulls him down into the Tourniquet Crossface!! Wow!! That was out of nowhere!!"

R.W.: "Look at that, Tony! Manson has Impossible's injured hand chicken-winged behind his back!! That has got to be adding incredible pain to a move that is already a devastating submission hold!!"

T.R.: "Impossible is in serious trouble here!! There's no way he can escape this hold, especially since Manson has him chicken-winged as well!! The ref keeps asking him and he keeps shaking his head no!! How long can he hold out!!?? Wait!! Impossible shakes his head yes!! He has to give in here!! That's it!! Marinaro calls for the bell!"

R.W.: "It was either give in or risk permananent injury, Tony! I don't blame him at all! What a valiant effort by Impossible after that vicious attack by Manson in the back! Even with a handicap he fought well!"

T.R.: "The crowd rains down the boos upon Manson as he has his hand raised, and he will advance here in the first match ever in GLCW! Manson will go to the quarterfinals but he did so using a nefarious scheme! We'll see how King Krusher handles this one folks! The fans applaud Mr. Impossible as he gets to his feet and rolls out of the ring, gripping his right hand! The physician is checking on him and we can only speculate how much damage was done!"

R.W.: "Hopefully nothing too serious that would prevent him from competing again, he is quite an exciting wrestler in that ring!"

T.R.: "OK fans, we will be back with more First Round action here on GLCW First Wave!"

(The camera shows Manson getting heckled by fans as he makes his way to the back. Some garbage is being thrown. CUT-TO: The physician checking Impossible's hand as he slowly walks toward the rampway. Fade to commercial)
