I've been a member of several Federations and have helped some along the way. I always wanted to start my own Fed, how do I go about doing it. I want the best way possible. What do you reccomend doing when you are just starting out?

Thanks

Honestly, I would go look for someone else who wants to run an efed or will help you run yours. That way you have someone with experience on the side and your not stuck with doing it all by yourself. From experience, owning an efed is not as easy as roleplaying for I will tell you that.

Here's the answer... or at least part of it...

Hey,

Well, for quick newbies you can go to What is FW part of the site and check out all the different Q&A that they have about running a successful e-fed.

Second, from personal experience, I would stick with one owner. Running a fed on your own may be hard, but at least there won't be any fighting and arguing over who does what and how things should be done. Another important rule is to make sure that you have enough time to actually keep the fed up for quite some time... and no, I am not talking about 1 month being quite some time... You have to make sure you will be dedicated to what you do and even though it's suppose to be all fun, sometimes, it gets really... Lets just say... everything south of fun.

Also, make sure that you stay friendly yet indifferent to memebers when grading roleplays. Don't show favorism, otherwise you may go donw in flames. Try to get your roleplayers to chip in here and there by writing a match or two when you do need some help. It'll make them feel like they belong to the place. Try to create a family like surrounding.

Oh... and don't ever sim your cards. That just shows how undedicated and lazy you really are. Plus, writing from scratch gives you more flexibility as to what you can do. Try to come up with a nice looking layout as well for your website. Don't copy others. Be original!

I hope this helps a little bit...

Do what I did, and - quite bluntly - pimp yourself!

Tell people via every group and forum that you are part of, and there are bound to be people willing to volunteer too.

E-Feds are so much easier to handle when there are two or three owners.

Good luck in your quest dude!
