Wrestling fans anticipate the InterAction Wrestling Federation’s triumphant return, following the announcement this morning by Matthews Wrestling Medias President Lindsay Matthews. Joined by her brother, professional wrestling’s resident rule-breaker Johnny Vivacious, in the Lila Cockrell Theatre of the Alamodome, the Matthews siblings announced that they would be bringing their late father’s once dominant promotion back to the mainstream.
“It is with great pride and honor,” Lindsay Matthews began, “within the arena that started it all, that I announce the return of the InterAction Wrestling Federation in just a little more than ten weeks.”
While business is already underway, the official date of the return is slated on August 1.
The first event, Adrenaline, will be broadcast by The Versus Network on Thursday, August 4; however, it will not be from the Alamodome. The first Adrenaline will take place 275 miles north, in Dallas at the American Airlines Center. The IAWF will make its way back to the Alamodome five weeks later, on Sunday, September 4, for WrestleFest. WrestleFest, a huge event marking the end of the summer and celebrating the IAWF Hall of Fame, will be the first IAWF pay-per-view event in nearly a decade.
While Johnny was arm in arm with his near full-term wife, Stace; the younger Matthews was not joined by her fiancé, former IAWF Champion, Justin “Stormm” Michaels. Neither Lindsay nor Johnny would comment on any confirmed talent, returning or otherwise, but they did state that WrestleFest would see the induction of eight former superstars into their rightful place in the IAWF Hall of Fame.
“Two inductions will be announced each week on Adrenaline,” Johnny stated. “Then, at WrestlFest, these inductees will be properly celebrated as cornerstones of this great promotion.”
“The IAWF has a history in this business,” Lindsay added. “As we open this door to the future, we can’t forget that.”
As IAWFe.com counts down the seconds to the return, fans were invited to keep up with the developments online at both the IAWFe Community and the Matthews Wrestling Medias corporate blog.
