(Hornet's at home in his media room. On the large screen TV in front of him is footage of Lawrence Stanley wrestling. Other tapes sit on top of the VCR, ready to be played.)

ANNIVERSARY time, again... or so Merritt says. Personally, I think his calendar's a little off. But it's Merritt's company, so he can do what he wants, right?

That means he can throw Randalls and Love in against each other with two big unknowns between them. That means he can lock Eli and Troy in a steel cage and let them kill each other all over again for a buyrate. It means he can put four tag teams in a dangerous match where somebody's sure to get hurt pretty bad.

And it means he gets to play with my life once again. Hey, what can I say? I was the one that signed the contract, and did it to set up what was supposed to be the biggest overthrow in this company's history... well, short of the laughable thought that Doc Silver would actually own this place a few years ago.

The overthrow has been overthrown. Eli says it was over my 'indiscretion' with Teri. Randalls says it's just because we're better suited to hate each other. Obviously, I say a little different than either of those two. But the ClaimStakers are history... and that means that I get to go it alone again.

Two potential title matches... one for the first title I ever held here in the CSWA, the storied United States Title. And the other, for the title that I took with me to the world stage, the CSWA World Heavyweight Championship.

It's been a long time since I cared about Chad Merritt's gold. There have always been other things I thought were more important: Ivy, the debacle with Teri, the ClaimStakers, Vizzack, whoever. But you see, here's the thing. Merritt put me in this position, which means he's got a reason for doing it. And I think Chaddyboy's bought into the propaganda that Hornet can't cut in the ring anymore. He doesn't expect me to get by Stanley... and if I do, he certainly doesn't expect me to outwrestle Evan Aho or outflash Kevin Powers. (laughs)

Stanley, Powers, Aho, you're all great wrestlers with your own goals and desires. But you've just been put dead in the middle of a bigger, uglier fight. If I learned anything from my time as Mike Randalls' partner, it's that there's nothing that lights the fire quite like someone like Chad Merritt telling me I can't do something.

Stanley, you and I have some pre-existing business to settle... although I think you're a bit misguided in your lust for my blood... or maybe it's just the fact I made you eat dog food, who knows.

But for you Kevin, and most certainly you Evan, well, it's nothing personal. (smiles)

Nothing Personal?

(FADE IN)

Evan Aho stands in front of the camera with gym shorts, boots and not shirt on. He busies himself wrapping his wrists and knuckles in athletic tape. He talks almost to himself, not bothering to look at the camera.

AHO - Of course it's nothing personal, Hornet. At least between you and I, it's not. If anything, this is a formality...something that's been on the "to-do" list for a long time and we may be finally getting around to it. But what about yourself? Is it all that impersonal to you?

What's on your mind Hornet? Is it Chad Merritt? That guy has some nerve, eh? Thinks you're washed up so he punishes you with one, potentitially two, title shots. The audacity of that man!

Well, I hope you weather those tribulations Hornet. I hope you fight the good fight and refuse to let "the man" get you down. I hope you're pissed. But most of all Hornet, I hope you carry all that fire into Anniversary 2001...because I don't want you at anything less than your most angry.

Hornet, you've said yourself that nothing lights a fire quite like Chad Merritt telling you that you can't do something. If that works for you, fine...but I don't need that spark, Hornet. I wrestle because I love it...and at Anniversary 2K1 I'm going to enjoy the biggest night of my life. Not because of the World Championship, not because I'm proving anyone wrong and not because of you. This is important to me because it's my next match.

No, it's not personal Hornet. Not for me it isn't.

RE: Nothing Personal?

(Hornet's caught outside his Greensboro, NC home by reporters as he tries to get to his car. One of the reporters asks about Aho's recent comments.)

I'm glad Aho's had this on his 'to-do' list. Unfortunately, I can't say the same. Like I said before, there's no doubt Aho's a great wrestler... there's no doubt that Aho takes this sport with ultimate seriousness...

But I know something Aho doesn't know. I know that Merritt's coming for me. I know that the 'master plan' is already in effect. Look at what he's tried to do to Randalls with a disguised handicap match, and now this 'mystery tag' match. Mikey may find himself in over his head if he underestimates Love... OR Merritt. And then there's Eli Flair.... Merritt's thrown him into another match that could end his career... or allow him to end Troy Windham's, which could be just as devastating to Flair in the long run.

And then there was one. Seems innocuous enough, doesn't it? Merritt announces that he's putting Hornet against Stanley for the US Title...and not only that, but the winner of that match gets a World Title shot. If you're as naive as Evan Aho, then you probably believe that Merritt's given up his grudges and is simply trying to set up some good PPV matches.

One of two things is true, folks. Either you have to believe that I'm cahoots with Merritt and my way has been paved to the World Title. Or you've got to believe the truth... that somehow, someway, Merritt's setting me up.

Sounds paranoid, doesn't it? But not if you know recent history. If you know that Merritt would do anything to avenge himself against even the idea of the ClaimStakers... have you figured out, all of you, you too, Aho, how personally Merritt takes all this?

So while it's 'nothing personal' against you, Aho... mark my words, something's rotten in Denmark. And I know where the smell's coming from.

(Hornet gets in his car, slams the door, and begins to back up as reporters scatter to get out of the way.)
