Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

The Rundown:
Well written, seemed a little different than normal, but in a good way! The play on the suit was comical and then they go right into the worst news for Angus possible….SEG WINS! :) Great recap of the two days of PPV. I thought this was long, but it did not read long at all, great job. Loved the bit with Perfection too. Excited to seee Babyface Jay get started, He’s been a good fit so far OOC IMO. (which I know some people were worried about).

The Itch, Part III
Nice touch using the DEF lingo (House that the faithful built). Scott Douglas is getting involved heavily early on, making an appearance on 3 straight shows. I like it. This was well written, and an easy read. Interesting story for Scott, who seems to always be talking to randoms out and about :) Not sure of all the mystery or how its going to pan out, but my interest has been peaked by this. Keep rolling brotha.

The Hollywood Bruvs vs Impulse and Cole:

I wrote this match, Stevie and Pete did the entrances. Was fun, starting to tell a bit of a new story with Mikey, its going to get muddy, but stick with me. There was a small gaff in the entrance, sorry about that.

No Place in this
Hobby...er….Business.
Enjoyed this bit immensely. Reaper getting a bit more personality here, and now we see Terry and know EXACTLY what he looks like, or the image he is supposed to give off. Great way to take the beef and run! Description was spot on! Very impactful ending I thought. This should be a great feud.

Scottish Civil War:
UHMAYZING. So jacked for this angle two heavy hitters, and two scottish accents. I had to warm up some Haggis for this one! Great segment, where the emotion seems legitimate. That happens with every Murray seg tho (DickSuckingClub) Love the accents going against one another. Cayle has been in the spotlight feud as of late, so I am happy to see Andy take one as Cayle is tied up in the tourney.

Pop Culture Phenoms vs the Louisiana Bulldogs.
HAHAHAHAHAHAH THE PCP ENTRANCE IS FUCKING GOLD! I loved this bit. Like when he points to the bikers and he meant the girls next to them. Fantastic heel work.

The D:

Hi. I’m the D. I could show you why later.

^Cried. The new entrance music for the bulldogs with the constant “I stole this song” reminder. Ive dealt with this for many years in my pirating the seven seas of the interwebs. SWERVE! Klein is the ref!!!!! AND NOW THE REAL REF COMES OUT AND THESE TWO BEGIN THE BICKERING! This is amazing. The Klein/Carla dynamic has me in tears. Shooting star from The D! Loved this match, start to finish, I love comedy writing and this was a great blend of both.

Cayle and Christie have a nice chat.
Love the Obvs (OBVS!). The SUPAFACE seg of the night! Cayle hits all the feel goods, he mentions the historic feud he just capped off, wishes well to the Fork Master. And then sets his sights on the next task DEFCON. Great stuff bruv.

VIGS-NETS

I wrote this, I hope you enjoyed. And for those of you familiar with Dem Dirty Dibbins….I’m sorry!

Jack Hunter vs Jason Natas:
LOLOLOL JACK IS BACK! “Also four, five, six!” Hahahaha. DDK always plays up the hijinks and i fucking love it. Nice fun squash match. Natas gets over big for dominating. Jack gets over big, because thats what Jack does! Hilarious and effective. Fun read.

SEG-Regated:
Wrote this with Stevie :) Hope you enjoyed!

Viking War Cult vs Southern Bastards
What a “Gorrram” match! Brutal, Flying big men, DOC style wrestling, and a hell of a bout. I always wonder about elimination 6/8 man tags. How come the guys can be pinned in 5 minutes in those matches but in a one on one they take 20!? Anyway that doesnt apply here, just a random thought. This was a great way to get the hype train rolling for the Trios Tourney. And I see the first tourny show has dropped now, so im stoked to read. Viking War Cult are awesome but the Southern Bastards now have a ton of momentum going forward in the tourny.

Whats A Punch In the Face?

The Drunks are Bruvs…. Well not Bruvs, but buds…. Not Butt Buds. just friends….This was a nice short seg with a good follow up from Uncut. Is this an angle moving forward, or is this the last time we see the drama?

Bragging Rights:
Dan Ryan comes out super confident and takling about how he shut the shit down at DEFCON. Then suddenly Lindsey Troy SuPaFaCe shows up and surprises the faithful. Great segment, not a lot of pizzazz in this one, but it didnt need it. Good way to keep they Hype train rolling.

Triple Threat Main Event.
Loved the way this was written. I was told it was a joint effort, but it didnt feel like it. Smooth as hell. Good back and forth wrestling, enjoyed the fuckboi teaming of Box and Penn at points. Box stands alone as a single entity in Efedding to me. His gimmick, his image, the magnitude of his character just feels big! Its awesome. Love the suplexing. Definitely bought the false finish on the bombastic bomb. Big debut for Frank Pastore as he beats two huge names in DEF. Terrific sign off from the commentary team as well.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

The Rundown

Good rundown, plus a Perfection tease and Reaper sighting! I love segments and matches that do multiple things.

The Itch, part III

The only issue I have with the itch (Besides the embarrassing trip to the doctor) is that it was partly on - show and partly in RP, and someone who wouldn't necessarily check RPs regularly would get lost. That's more their problem than a problem with the writing, I'm just intent on everyone reading as much things as they can.

The Bruvs vs. ColePulse

Mikey did a great job with this, I think - and Angus' reaction to Mikey getting pinned was priceless. He made a good point, though - this is the first time Mikey has taken an unadulterated loss, and I think the challenge here will be how he comes out of it.

No Place in this Business

More from Reaper. The slow - burn is effective, but there can be a thing as too much hype (Fandango). Really want to see Reaper get in the ring sooner than later.

Scottish Civil War vol 1

"Pet Squid."

Where's the elbow, Andy? Man of your word, indeed. There's a lot of history here that I'm aware of none of, but both men - both legends - are dealing with it in drastically different ways. Box realy does seem to have an inferiority complex towards the Murray boys, at least towards Andy - while Andy believes himself better, even if for no other reason than he's not obsessing on it.

PCP vs. Louisiana Bulldogs

At least Angus *was* having a good night. :) The S.E.G. are terrific obnoxious heels, and with all of them winning at DEFCON there needs to be a shift in portrayal to keep them from stagnating. It looks like that's going to happen with the PCP and I'm aware of things cooking with Mikey, so that's taken care of. A successful defense to kick off the arc hammers home this team as being more than just Mikey's UnLackeys.

Cayle and Christie have a chat

Cayle Murray doing what I just said the SEG needs to do - my entire experience with Cayle has been his feud with Eric Dane, and now that that's over, what's next?

VIGS-NETS

Maximum Defiance match that has to happen - JACK HUNTER and the Dibbinseses vs. The Viking War Cult.

Speak of the devil...

Natas destroys JACK HUNTER in a squash. Is this the end for the Superbest?

SEGregated

Let the scheming begin... Impulse vs. Mikey in the DEFMAX happens at 70 and while Impulse is the better wrestler, Mikey is the schemer. They almost cancel each other out.

The Viking War Cult vs. The Southern Bastards

While it's a surprise to see Vikings lose to Bastards, it's not surprising to see FDJ get the pin. The arc with Harmony was okay but with the DOC not on the line and especially with Harmony on hiatus there didn't feel like there were any real physical stakes to it...

Punches and Drunkbros

...which makes the FDJ/Natas rivalry my favorite of the new arc (existing feuds like Mom and Grandpa, and my own feuds excluded) - Natas could hossfite, Natas could be the DOC, and the foundation of a shaky friendship could easily make this an explosive situation.

You know... more than James already makes things.

Bragging Rights

Asian Daniel Ryan SURE is a dick.

Pastrami vs. Boxer vs. Penn

I didn't see THAT finish coming, but I think Pastore may pay for it in the DEFMAX itself. Enjoyable read.

Conclusion:
Segments. RPs. Matches. UNCUT. Tell your stories, people! Also feedback, before Justin cuts a bitch.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Hello all. Not going to do a whole run down of feedback but just my random thoughts on the show.

First off, really liking the Scott Douglas character already. He's been really active in the short space of time in the fed which is great. I liked the character and the writing style from the application in the forum and i like the way he's started off in Defiance. He's telling a story and it's going somewhere. my intrigue has been captured.

Reaper/Perfection: Looks like Perfection is the target to me then! Nice seg by Reaper after the rundown appearance from Perfection. Can't wait to hear what Perfection has to say. I've said it before but I like the relationship between Reaper and Terry. I feel sorry for Terry already, patience of a saint to deal with this man!

Scottish People: Box and Big Murr both giving it the big I am equals scuffles! Cayle having a lovely chat with Christie (about time she had a nice interview away from the Bruvs and PCP. Went over the Dane feud, he did what he had to do and now he's focusing on DEFMAX Tournament. Great segs from both (Also nice use of obvs outside of the dialogue, avoided potential copyright infringement issues :p)

Dan Ryan v Troy: As always, top top stuff. Ryan comes out and does his thing, gloating and feeding off of the boos. I was actually in total shock when Troy appeared. I like that Ryan was caught off guard for a moment before begging for Troy to get in the ring. This was great, big likes!

Hope everyone liked what they saw from the Bruvs this week.

All in all, I thought this was a good set up show for the DEFMAX Tournament. Some intriguing match ups coming up. The likes of Frank Pastore and Levi Cole going into the tournament with huge wins opens the whole thing up. Can't wait to see how the next few weeks pan out. Great work guys!

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

THE RUNDOWN
Good rundown and recap of DEFCON. Jumping right into the Perfection deal was a nice touch and made it the feel and flow/feel more like TV. The Faithful's reaction to Jimmy was perfect. And Reaper's attack was enjoyable. The double down on the amount of blood that was shed felt odd, but not a big gripe. Great on TV introduction to Perfection in DEF and gave off the feeling that the "target" had been revealed.

THE ITCH, PART III
Wrote this with John and some assistance from Stalker/Justin.

THE HOLLYWOOD BRUVS VS. IMPULSE AND LEVI COLE
The title of this match has the Outkast line, "Who else want to fuck with Hollywood Cole" running through my head. Between Perfection/Reaper, Scott/Gamble and now the SEG interrupting the ring announcements, this card is having a tough time getting going. #rasslin. No complaints. The SEG seg is once again just classic top notch heel tactics front to back. Loved the focusing on the arm deal. Enjoyable match. After DEFCON its good to see the heels get their come-upin's as it were. Would like to have seen more of the fall out/aftermath post bell. But beyond that this was great.

NO PLACE IN THIS BUSINESS
Reaper is keeping Terry on his toes and clearly at his wits end. This starts like just normal debriefing kind of deal
but the inclusion of "can't GO for THE target" line seems important. The mystery seemingly having been solved at the open still has some mileage on it. Perfection call out, and now the fun should begin. With the common threads between Paz and Terry, and now seemingly Reaper. This should be a very interesting story.

SCOTTISH CIVIL WAR, VOL. 1

Nice one on one to answer questions DEFCON asked. I really dug the setting, tiny elevator, one
on one, tranquil music playing as the conversation heats up until it reaches its boiling point, conveniently at the
lobby floor. The writing was incredible and the dialogue at the end was perfect. The tension and hatred really shows through the word choice and syntax. "I'll blood take from you" and "ten pounds of flesh." were particularly great.

POP CULTURE PHENOMS © VS. THE LOUISIANA BULLDOGS
More great heel work from the SEG. The open challenge bit and the line "The less training the better!" Perfect. And "So Who wants to take PCP." The audio tag was great. Only thing I would have found funnier would have been, with no explanation, "audiojungle." But that doesn't catch as wide of an audience. Klien mimicking Carla was great. "WE DON’T. NO ONE DOES. LIFE IS PAIN." Would have liked to see the SEG come-upin's continue here but then again I wonder if they had would I have thought it to be too trite or predictable. So with that said, I enjoyed it none the less and I'm interested to see what the "invitational" brings.

CAYLE AND CHRISTIE HAVE A NICE CHAT
Having only stepped in at the blow off of such a big feud with Dane, I'm sure this reads way more historic than I'm
taking it as. That aside it plays perfect as a babyface moving on from a huge moment and at least maintaining the idea that no hard feelings are kept. DEFCON being my intro to the brothers Murray, I'm intrigued as to what's next for the Starbreaker.

VIGS-NETS
I really dug the produced promo feel this had. I'm not familar with the Dibbins, but this read like a perfect treatment for a video production, I mean to say; I could see this in the minds eye perfectly. Can't wait to see more.

JASON NATAS VS. JACK HUNTER
I have been ... "fucking the police" haha of all the nonsensical talk that was amazing. Cool match. Seems nothing much going here. Other than to show Natas is at at least half power and ready to go.

"SEG"REGATED
I take back my comments about PCP not getting their just due as Mikey did. Because this actually sets up so much more awesome. "Don’t just stand there! Help Mikey break things, dammit!" Loved the segment. Quick but played like a fast TV segment and really sold what feels like could be big changes on the horizon. Or worst case just some ire in the faction that will mcguffin things along until they can make good again and blindly ignore their previous chances to be human and make them even more hate-able. Really gives this collection a long rope to keep this greatness up for a long while.

THE VIKING WAR CULT VS. THE SOUTHERN BASTARDS
Honestly, good match. Enjoyable read but I'm a little low on context for this to have really reinstated with me one way or another. "...brutal basket of fun." If this was actual TV I'd be tired of segments preceding matches at this point. An overall view, not a criticism of the writer(s) who wouldn't have much knowledge of this, but within the hobby ... I dig it. More the better. I enjoyed the match and the interest in should instill in the Trio's tourney.

WHATS A PUNCH IN THE FACE BETWEEN FRIENDS
Dug the writing. Great follow up from the Uncut Segment(s) and either a great button on that whole deal or a nice set up to move forward. The bait and switch was nice. Right as it seems it is settled and put to bed, a few stray comments can mean everything. Good stuff, can't wait to see what comes next.

BRAGGING RIGHTS
The Booze Brothers, break out the Wayfarers and Skinny Ties ... I smell a new tag team ala Austin/Michaels'
championship-cup-of-coffee run in the late 90's. Good Ryan promo and the interruption by the still wounded Troy was pretty easy to see coming via Ryan's verbiage but knowing a little about the tenancies of the "sport" and the hobby, I thought this might actually wind up in some actual physicality before DEFsec hit. I dig the realism and liked the way this panned out.

FRANK PASTORE VS BRONSON BOX VS CURTIS PENN

Very surprised by the finish. Great look for Pastore but I get the feeling all in all this debut win is only to soften what will follow in DEF MAX. One writing note, goddamn is used by Angus, only a few lines before returning back to GORRAM. Which I may be incorrect or misguided but a previous Googling led me to think GORRAM was Firefly influenced twist on goddamn. And being Angus has no issue letting fuck fly ... It would stand to reason GORRAM would be his preferred sub. Great match, and interested to see what will happen moving forward.

OVERALL
Good card. A lot of stories/arcs being started or continued since DEFCON/UNCUT 11. My first DEFtv since coming on board and I don't regret said coming... hmmm I probably could have worded that differently. Fantastic card. Good job everyone.

And on a format note, I realized I used () rather than [] in the segment John and I submitted. Apologizes. It is certainly seen and noted and I will correct this moving forward.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

B-Roll 3

Perfection is such a prima donna. I really do wonder how the Faithful will ultimately accept him (hatred now does not necessarily mean hatred later), but for the moment his contempt for the fans bleeds through to their hatred.

Vig-Netts Also

Fuckin' Dibbinses... though I will enjoy seeing them take on the PCP in a match that will annoy everyone. :)

Scottish Civil War

This is totally obvs the best way to get a story over without taking up too much time on the main show with history. Evan and Damien did this with Bronson Dewey, and it was effective as heck. More people should do things like this.

Thirty Seconds with Impulse

I wrote

Homeland Security

Glad to see the Bruvs are taking Reaper seriously. Very excited for this arc.

The Itch 4

I keep saying it, but I love Kelly Evans as the authority figure. Babyface and heel bosses are ridiculously overplayed; the owner character who just cares about the future of his or her company is the simplest idea and the least used. I love how Kelly is giving Douglas a chance while apparently not believing a word he says. Earn the trust, boy.

Training Daze

Ten Seconds with Calico Rose

I wrote

Meeting Me Halfway

See above with The Itch. But I think we've hit ground zero; LT needs to beat Dan Ryan at Maximum Defiance or lose her spot for the forseeable future.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

BROLL #3
Perfection at his best. "Food stamp beverages" was awesome. Great button to the cliffhanger that was the opening segment of DEFtv. Can't wait to see what this Paz/Perfection dynamic is going to be like.

VIG NETTS TOO
I preferred the original as a standalone rather than having this be a continuation. I was hoping these would play out like old school Coming Soon vignettes. Completely unconnected snippets. Just personal preference. That being said, this serves as a good introduction for someone who doesn't know the characters.

SCOTTISH CIVIL WAR
I liked this format. Honestly what I thought UNCUT was intended to be before I started reading on a regular basis. Having Cayle sit in along with DDK and Angus was a nice touch. This match is building nicely already treading on history and recent events at the same time.

30 SECONDS WITH IMPULSE
I popped back in on FW a few years ago and read something at random that Pete had wrote and was really taken with the style. I messaged him and to compliment, only to realize I had read the entire thing as if it were Eli, rather than Impulse. smh Didn't know of Impulse until that moment. I say all that to say this, the first person perspective is so unique and grabs my attention every time. More importantly, Impulse has some lofty secondary goals. The Wrestler v. The Entertainer. Good stuff.

HOMELAND SECURITY
"Bruv, give JFK a sec, yeah?!" Favorite sentence in a SEG segment thus far. Bruv, yeah, and an innit not to far away. Not to mention the abbreviated third person. Great comedy, "preferably ninjas..." enough said. Reaper appears to have been a bigger scare than previously thought, or for the mean time at least good fotter for more BRUV antics. Great read.

THE ITCH IV
Wrote 'em.

TRAINING DAZE
This segment raises ALOT of questions. For starters, does Starbucks actually have Oreo Frappes? And if so, why am I just now hearing of this? And if these don't exist ... Why if life so unfair?

Also, what is a Frappe?

TEN SECONDS WITH CALICO ROSE
"Inception - level promos, for the win." Indeed.

MEETING ME HALFWAY
Kelly is hard nosed but fair and the green light to see Troy/Ryan again, with clearance defensible means big things down the line. I don't know all the history between to the two but between DEFCON and now but it certainly seems that tensions are as high as ever with no chance of winding down. Good read.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Opening Seg: Haha, Angus is fucked!

B-Roll #3: I liked this a lot. Something a bit different, real time action from Perfection's exit from the arena at DefTV 69. Great work Jay!

Vig Netts Too: THE DIBBENSES! Yes! Those guys are so helpfull. How soon will they be in DEFIANCE though? Not soon enough!

Scottish Civil War: Nice little history read on Box and the Murray's humble beginnings in Aberdeenshire (I may have pop'd a little as I went to uni there!) and good to see Cayle's take on the rivalry between the two. Loved Angus' little dig at the end.

Thirty Seconds with Impulse: really good promo from Impulse. Liked the counter culture reference for SEG and how Impulse is gonna be the counter counter culture. He's not a sports entertainer or a superstar, he's a wrestler. This is what Defiance is all about! Liking where Pete and Mikey are taking this.

Homeland Security: I wrote this

The Itch, Part IV (Conditional Love) OK, so my interest is already invested in Scott Douglas. So good to see someone new put this amount of effort in right from the off. something big has happened in his past that he clearly is uncomfortable with and I want to know what that is. Great teasing!

Training Daze: Mikey is training like a boss! But not before a tasty oreo frappe (a frappe is short for frappechino. I don't think the oreo flavour exists...yet) Mikey wrote this one, amazing and good continuity using a prop and with the line about Will/Bill/Phil at the end!

Ten Seconds With Calico Rose: And what a ten seconds. Really strong message from her which I think we can all agree with.

Meeting Me Halfway: Again, similar style to Jay with the real time fall out from DefTV 69. Really like this instant reaction/exclusive type of work that we get to see. Great Seg from Linz, as always! The re-match is on bae bae!!!

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Rundown
Enjoyed working with Evan, Lindz, Creepy Justin to get this up and going. Thanks to them for making everything a smooth fluid transition between the run down and the interruption.

The Itch, Part III
Well written piece between Gamble and Douglas. Really excited to see Brian in DEF with us and have enjoyed his work with Douglas in the past so seen him take charge again is great. Very nice set-up piece, interaction, and forming a connection with two wrestlers. Excited to see what happens down the line.

Bruvs vs Impulse / Cole
Had a very good read, I feel like I need to add a little more added umph to my match coming up, I like this match. Normally I don’t dig tag matches too much but this one was good. Especially like PCP pulling Mikey out to give him a breather. The ending was good as well, want to see if this builds into a feud with Hollywood McDouchenozzle after his first clean loss.

No Place in this Business
Have really been enjoying what Justin has been dishing out writing wise and it’s been a fund few weeks writing with him while getting to read the Reaper character’s development. Really been digging his slow burn and giving a target even if not THE target.

Scottish Civil War, Vol. 1
I love back storied history that’s being freshly presented, especially one that I haven’t known before. The interaction between Bronson and Andy was very well done and I am excited to see what transpires further. Box playing the “you left card” was beautiful, kinda reminded me a bit like Miz’s blow up this week on Bryant, yet softer, if that makes any sense? It doesn’t, so moving on.

PCP vs Louisiana Bulldogs
Enjoyed the open challenge to the tag titles, PCP really are a great foundation and heel generator for SEG and this match showed that. I loved the referee shirt reveal only to be thrown out of the ring, well written match, starting to really enjoy the mouth snippets by D during the matches.

Cayle and Christie Have A Nice Chat.
Nice guy Cayle, being nice guy Cayle. Although, I do like the foreshadowing that may have been hinted at that Cayle has been to the dark side and it’s seemingly a touchy subject for him. Shows Cayle may have a weakness deeper down and isn’t all sunshine, rainbows, and haggis. Good build of Dane, wishing him well and previewing the tournament.

Little Bruises vs Jason Natas

Nice little squash of Jack Haunter. All that was missing was light tubes. No, but this was a good way to keep Natas on a little streak post PPV.

What’s a Punch Between Drunk Bros.
Can’t tell if FDJ and Natas are cool or if they are going to end up having another bar brawl. Either way the seggy had me at least wondering that.

Bragging Rights
Nice continuation and keeping a feud working post the PPV. Worked well, was to the point and keeps the stove cooking. Nice work.

Curtis Penn vs Pastore vs Box
I love me some triple threats, one of my favorite match types. So many things can happen and it’s beautiful. This match was great, I enjoyed every second of it and the ending was stellar. This match definately made me buy in for the rest of the DEF-MAX tourny.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Epically busy guys, but as promised, here is ye olde feedback for DEFtv 69.

THE RUNDOWN

Enjoyable as always. The rundown is as important to the show as any segment or match, and is part of what makes DEFIANCE feel more like a real-life wrestling show.

THE ITCH, PART III

Big fans of both handlers, except for Rivera.

But seriously....Great stuff, guys. I'm glad both guys are here now and they know each other so well from years of fedding together that I expect really interesting stuff from this. Great way to kick this off.

THE HOLLYWOOD BRUVS VS. IMPULSE AND LEVI COLE

Good heel work, good psychology. Good solid match overall. Buy Pete's book.

NO PLACE IN THIS BUSINESS

Interesting, not much to say on this yet. Just digesting this.

SCOTTISH CIVIL WAR, VOL. 1

So intense. :) Enthralling.

POP CULTURE PHENOMS © VS. THE LOUISIANA BULLDOGS

LIFE IS PAIN.

Love that. It was nearly a Princess Bride quote.

CAYLE AND CHRISTIE HAVE A NICE CHAT

Excellent follow up to an excellent match. I could read segments like this all day long.

VIGS-NETS

Interesting. Not too familiar with the subject of said segment, but interesting.

JASON NATAS VS. JACK HUNTER

A filler showcase match. It did what it needed to do.

"SEG"REGATED

Segments like this are the backbone of this fed, honestly. Sometimes what makes a fed is what's going on in the middle of the show and not necessarily the top. A hot main event feud is easier to do than an amazing middle, that's what this is to me. Just amazing stuff to read on every single show. This fed is so strong top to bottom right now.

THE VIKING WAR CULT VS. THE SOUTHERN BASTARDS

Heh, fun solid match.

WHATS A PUNCH IN THE FACE BETWEEN FRIENDS

Ooooh, I liked dis one. Good segment technique on display. I'm not gonna bore anyone with what I mean by that. But really good writing here.

BRAGGING RIGHTS

I writed dis.

FRANK PASTORE VS BRONSON BOX VS CURTIS PENN

Box doing what Box does best. And a good surprise finish. No complaints from me.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

DEFtv 70 Beef!!!

The Rundown

"Did you see the jugs..." Never change, Angus. Not a huge fan of this one, though. I know Angus Skaaland has Very Important Opinions but it did sort of feel like he undersold the importance of the DEF*MAX completely because of his feelings on most of the participants. I think he should've had more to say about Impulse hoping he'd beat McFuckass, and more to say about Bronson Box, at the very least. But that's just me.

Shame On Me!

I wrote with McFuckass. I wrote the second half, and I think Mikey is doing a great job as the cheap heat master in the first.

Cayle vs. Levi

Angus' refusal to acknowledge Cayle beating Dane is a thing of beauty, but is he really that down on hold-counterhold wrestling? I know his thing is HOSSFITES but as long as Cole and Cayle aren't flippy-dooing all over the place, I'd think he'd be okay with it. Nice showcase for Cole, though - he'll be ready for the big time in no time.

Parking Lot Interlude

Poor Shirley Dan Ryan. I think Mom and Dad did a good job explaining who these people are attacking Daniel Ryan without overexplaining it. They just need to make sure that Rayne or Elliot scoop her heat.

Ask and you shall receive

Perfection gets a tryout match - against Codename: Reaper. Interesting choice since it's a double debut match with two guys who have had a lot of buildup - Perfection has to win or he doesn't get a contract, but Reaper needs to get off on the right foot... it's gonna be tricky.

Bronson Box vs. Frank Pastrami

Poor lunchmeat - he's in there against a man with an angry mustache and something to prove. I don't think the newcomer lost anything in this one - he still has a pinfall over Bronson, and with this mugging he's got something now to prove as well. Good match.

Cheap Heat

The anger will either propel Box to the top, or cost him dearly.

Perfection vs. Creepy Reaper

Not a fan of cutting back to Reaper being in the ring, it looks too much to me like enhancement talent. I think it would work better if we came back, the commentators were talking, and all of a sudden Reaper was in the ring - that would have the stealth type aspect that I think Justin is going for. Just my opinion, however. Angus' reactions to them both were spot - on; and the controversial finish gives this conflict some legs.

Quit living in the past

The obvious subtext, that if the Bruvs had beaten Pulse and Cole at 69, JFK would be talking about it incessantly - is glorious. Of course, JFK then talks at length about LAR and Andy Sharp, which completely ruins his point. This is why the SEG are such effective heels.

Pre-match Fuckery/ PCP vs. Drunkbros

The "Let's beat on the Brazen guys" slant the PCP have been taking goes a bit off the rails because they never actually specified that they only wanted to beat up on Brazen guys, and it bites 'em in the ass. This is the kind of match that I've been waiting for; the SEG and the Drunkbros have never really had a lot of interaction until DEFtv 69, but it always felt like there was something brewing. Slow - burns for the win!

The Itch, part 6

Looking forward to Scott Douglas' eventual debut, it's gonna need to happen sooner than later, though with the DEFMAX happening it could clearly be delayed as long as we get segments.

Penn vs. JFK

A draw was the only way to play this - both men need to look strong coming out of indirect losses at 69. And since they're both hated men in the company there's nothing to be gained by a win by one or the other; let them beat up on the other two in the bracket. :)

Scottish Civil War II

I do love the fact that they're fighting over who had the right to beat Eric Dane's ass.

The Turnaround

Penn is such an ass, he's awesome. Interesting interruption by Jane Katze... I wonder where that's headed.

Impulse vs. Mikey Unlikely

Mikey and I co-wrote this; he plotted out the majority of the match and I think he did an outstanding job with it. I think he balanced out both guys' strengths and weaknesses and made everything both enjoyable and BELIEVABLE. Angus' interference was totally Mikey's idea and it was awesome.

Sorry & shit

Natas and FDJ are going to tear the Drunkbros apart.

Daniel Ryan vs. Wade Elliot

This was just a brawl, short and painful. It served its purpose, and it was appropriately placed, but with the rest of the show taken into account it seemed to me to be a bit jarring to have a non-finish fistfight cap off the show. Would've been interesting, maybe, to have had Pulse vs. Mikey as the main event and Dan Ryan interrupt the post-match to demand a fight with Wade, and that he'll be waiting at DEFtv 71 for him - and then have the entire DEFtv 71 show intercut with scenes of the two men trying to fight each other, getting pulled apart, etc. Again, just my 2 cents.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Rundown
Loved this. I always do. Angus is amazing and is always written as such. Good hype for the Tourney matches here. I liked the signs being displayed a bit differently and of course I’m a juggs man myself. Good Schtuff

Shame on me:
Wrote this. Pete capped it off. Was enjoyable and im looking forward to revealing the show! Peta is an easy custard man to write with. He’s a good face. Im a good heel. The good stuff happens.

Levi Cole vs Cayley Murphy
Nice touch with the Starbreaker name. Enjoying Angus’ no sell of the Eric Dane classic. Also love the hype for Levi Cole. who feels like a legitimate contender in this thing. Loved the suplex’s and strategy from Cole. Nice match, good pacing, had a beginning, middle and end. OBVS Cayle was going to win, but read as if it could have gone either way.

Parking Lot Interlude.
Two (apparently) Big names making their return to DEFIANCE for part in this feud. Nice work around on the Lindsey Troy rule. Enjoyed this and the banter. Worked well for a nice set up match tonight. Interested to say the least.

Ask and You Shall Receive.
The fallout from the previous seg gives way right into Perfection handing over his contract and demanding a match with the man who sucker punched him last on the last DEFtv. Loved this, glad to finally hear from Perfection and not just Paz. good stuff. Hype fo the match but hope its not a blowoff already.

Bronson Box vs Frank Pastore
Enjoyed the fast start and the somewhat arrogant Pastore here. This was very good description in this match, I feel like I got more feel for the character than I did last week in the 6 man. With the focus shifted on just Box and Pastore it was very good. Bronson Box to me is indestructible, but I love seeing him face big dudes. Good match, Brutal, loved the Bombasto Bomb as per ussssss into the turnbuckle.

Cheap Heat
Nice quick promo by Bronson. Hes winning DEFMAX dammit! Listen up people! I loved it. The Crowd play was great. Short. Simple. Sweet.

Reaper vs Perfection
Holy Shit! What a match! Hats off guys, for both of your first match in DEF it was pretty fookin good! Nailed Angus 100% and loved his play on hating everything Perfection does. Very competitive match that should be in MOTN contention. Great win for Perfection.

Quit Living In the Past!
Stevie wrote this one alone. He asked me if I wanted in on it, and I declined so that JFK could get his own platform, and he knocked it out of the park. Loved this. Great promo. JFK is my pick for DEFMAX CHAMPIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Pre Match Fuckery
This was soooooooooo smoooooth! I am sucking everyones dick tonight! Terrific heel work by Ford and Billy. “FOR TAX REASONS!” (I lost it) Serious LOLs the funniest thing Ive read in weeks. Then come Natas and Big Murk. Great banter back and forth, hilarious stuff, So psyched for the match.

PCP vs DrunkBruvs.
I popped for Carla Ferrari coming down to the ring, does that make me a creep? Prolly. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA best match ever! PCP is better at this shit than I am. Instant DQ. perfect way to “beat” these guys! Well done to all involved. Sports Entertained the shit out of me.

The Itch Part VI (Lake Placid VI?)
WOOOOOW damn good. Best one of these yet, not that the others were bad, I am just finally getting a grip on the characters, who they are, and what they are about and everything is coming together well. Really liked this seg, keep going. Deeper than most but felt like it fit on DEFtv.

Penn vs Kendrix:
Sorry Jay and Justin, Your match just got beat. Holy fucking shit. I went into this match thinking, how are these two shit bag heels going to pull of a good match and still both be...heels! They did it. Both guys wrestled spectacularly but litte interjections of cuntiness were spot on! All through the match I hated (loved) both guys. Angus Commentary was hilarious. Couple spacing issues but this was pretty amazing. Had me hooked throughout. Very dramatic finish.

Scottish Civil War II The Rise of the South.
Wooooooooo, I always mark for the accent. Great seg, lighting a fire under the fued between Andy and Box, promoting the shit out of the tournament. And promising victory. He’s pissed off about not getting to get to Dane, and now Murphongo SR has to pay. Ate it up.

The Turn Around
Very real and enjoyable segment. Curtis Penn was stopped from talking? Woah. I need to dig up some research on this, it’s got me curious. The appearance of Jane Katze at the end was a surprise… does that have more implications than it seems? Good shit.

Impulse vs Michelob Light.
Wrote this together with Pete. was a pleasure and a piece of cake. The two characters play well off one another, and I hope it reads that way as well.

Sorry and Shit
Holly fuck what a brawl. This friendly fuck up turned sour. Its on now! This was awesome. Way to escalate quickly.

Ryan vs Wade
Hahahahahahaahahahahaahahahahahaha tractor jokes. Other than that beautiful brawl that means something in the grand scheme of things, were going to see Troy retaliate….HARD! YUS! Great fight, always love when a guy gets hit with an action figure, really looking forward to next week.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

RUNDOWN
Some well placed humor and a good setup for the tournament. Puts over who needs to be put over.

SHAME ON ME!

Glue Fist. Bracing. Premature Streamers. Awesome shenanigans and great heel work as per usual, the near nothing of announcements to just to rile up the Faithful, one of which has an addendum that really pisses of the people. Dug Impulse popping up to save the day. Hitting SEG with the bait and switch dialogue. I like the dynamic of wrestling verse sports entertainment. Seems like the obvious choice, sure, but given Impulse’s character and SEGs lack thereof, how could you not take this route; it’s bound to go good places. Can’t wait to see more.

MURRAY/COLE

Cole looking good coming into the match, commentary has him super over. Especially with Angus no selling Cayle’s DEFCON win. “Word to your moms?” Went about the way I assumed it would but a good read none the less. Even with the loss Cole looks great. Cayle looks even stronger moving forward in the tournament although injured. It’ll be interested to see if that comes into play or if over the duration of the tournament he’ll be able to mend.

PARKING LOT INTERLUDE

Really dug the slow set up and reveal turned brawl. I’m not familiar with the returning characters but the history is explained well and I’m interested to see the fall out of this.

ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE

Always love when segments can flow with continuity. Tough to do 100 percent in this hobby but when it’s done it’s always a good look. Perfection heeling it up, Evans not backing down. Good stuff. I always read and wrote Paz as a similar architype to Evans back when. She seems to be a bit more subdued now. Jimmy must have some nekkid pictures of her or some such. Builds the match and certainly makes its potential finish interesting.

BOX/PASTORE

Good match. I like the use of the manager distraction and the bump. Frank’s H2O audition was a nice touch as well. “... perched precariously in powerbomb position … “ was an awesomely written line. Frank came off strong even in taking the three. The near finish/last minute hope spot turned finish was nice as well. Rather than it just be a reversal and a vice versa finish.

CHEAP HEAT

Box lambasting the Faithful and slipping in some history via last years tournament. Nice post match segment to show his intensity and motivation in the tournament.

PERFECTION/CODENAME: (C)REAPER

After the earlier segment and applied stipulations I was wondering how they were going to handle this. As I read along I really thought Perfection would pull some slick shit and slide back in the ring just before and leave Reaper out to dry. But the ref bump, and Reaper’s would be win fit pretty perfectly. Pun intended? Great debut for both. I agree with Pete though about the entrance. Even with the commentary attempt to sell it, it still comes off like the opening of a squash match. Even a simple lights out, lights on deal would feel a little more appropo. That is if you could clear that entrance with Undertaker’s nephew …

Also wouldn’t have minded a little more of the fallout/Reapers reaction.

QUIT LIVING IN THE PAST

Innit. Great heel hypocritical speak. And damn if I don’t just love the cadence (or at least how I’m reading it) with the sentence punctuating yeahs, and innits. No sell on the SoHer title is a great little piece of business. (yeah wrestle speak!) Mid-reading this it just dawned on me I sorta read JFK (and Mikey in other segments) like Wacko and Yakko from the Animaniacs. Less goofy of course, but the timing. A “helllllo, nurse.” wouldn’t feel foreign in one of their joint pieces. Back to the segment. I’m a fan. Read well and kept my attention.

PRE-MATCH FUCKERY

A plus on the title for starters. More classic heelin’ from SEG. The line that stuck out to inparticular was “...as successful and powerful as Mikey Unlikely, JFK, and the rest of us in S.E.G” I don’t know if was meant to be a comment to the hierarchy but it felt like it. A guy with the name The D doesn’t seem like he’d shy away from the third person. “Brazilian donkey show” fantastic. Grant-A-Wish. And a open challenge to its participants. I think what makes the SEG such great heels is their handler(s) know they are the shits and writes it as such, that all the big talk and yapping will end up in chicken shit heel ways and dropping dialogue like “Wha-- what do you guys want?!” The action line, “The D’s voice is half-skittish, half-overconfident” is the path of least resistance to great heel work, IMO. This is common stance in “real” Wrestling, I just don't’ remember seeing so much of it in FW until now. Heels who aren’t afraid to get egg on their face. Salute. “Wait. No. More nonsense please.”

PCP/MURRAY & NATAS

With such a great lead in segment I don’t see how this can be anything but spectacular. Oh. Then that happened. Still a great heel move for PCP, ducking real competition and denying the fans of what they really want. It really just shows how great the heel work and the segment was because even as a reader I was all amped up to see them get the come upins.

THE ITCH, PART 500 or so
Wrote this with John. Noticed some typos, mainly punctuation. My bad.

PENN/KENDRIX

Really dug the opening promo. The pacing, the hard turn. Baited me in, then hit. Very well done. Pairs nicely with Box’s post match statements and adds an extra layer to the tournament. Histories and stuffs … DDK’s opening remarks had a real prize fight feel to them, which I really dig especially within the tournament precedings. The match writing had some great subtleties I really appreciated. The match content was great as well and this; “(praying to a higher power, probably Eric Dane)“ was great. The whole ending has me hooked in and just when I think it’s going to be a Time Limit Draw, oh shit a pin … false finish, and it is a TLD. Great match. As mentioned before Angus was incredible in this one.

SCOTTISH CIVIL WAR II
Great continuation from Uncut. The start (and maybe it’s the thumbed nose) reminds me slightly of a Dr. Cox/JD from Scrubs trade off. Albeit way more tense and Cayle no where near as feeble as JD.

Incredible segment. Box’s twisted reverse revenge on the Brothers Murray, the tease for DEF MAX potential, the language in general. Very free flowing, very natural. Nothing felt expositional but I still picked up on some things I hadn’t prior. Overall good shit. This storyline is getting more complexed and more interesting at every turn.

THE TURN AROUND

Quick spot, but I dig the retired wrestler Agent roll. Especially in the sense of helping put over Penn’s misguided determination. Sloan seems like he is trying to help Penn from shooting himself in the foot but at the same time and maybe taking priority; he’s protecting the show and by in large the company. This was a good piece of backstage business.

IMPULSE/MIKEY
Normally I write all of these as a stream of consciousness as I read along, but this had me locked in and I didn’t got back to the doc until it was all over. That was a hell of a match, layed out super well and had alot of great turns. Angus’ involvement was a “and his heart grew two sizes that day” kinda moment. And the finish … the LAST thing Mikey, or SEG needed was the claim to a submission victory over Impulse. Wow. This will certainly reverberate through the rest of the arc to say the least. Subtle and well placed humor throughout the match as well. Definitely dug it.

SORRY & SHIT
“because colours, and they’re also painted using paint, not something else.” That ratcheted up quickly from past segments. I mean clearly you could see it coming but this submission wasted NO time getting right to it. Can’t wait to read what utter destruction these two will dowel out to one another when it comes time for an actual match.

RYAN/WADE

The “already in the ring” sells a little bit better here, being that the recently returned are not contracted with the company. So I’ll go with it. But being that a fight is a fight and a match is a match, I’ve got to give the Reaper/Perfection deal a little more credit for the same intro being that their booking was very similar, although it not being a family matter and the jumping took place on a separate show from the match. Still think Reaper needs a cooler entrance to go along with his character.

Post tractor joke, Angus displays the attention span of cocker spaniel. HOSSFITE!!??? Haha. Hell of a fight overall and a great read. I think if this had been the last TV before PPV, this would be a great way to go out. But with more TV ahead, I feel like if I was watching this I’d be pissed. But I say that in the same breath interest and anger alike will usually make me tune in again… at least in the late 90’s when I actively watched ‘Rasslin.

OVERALL

Good card. A lot of feuds and storylines progressing or seemingly starting. Some that were obvious from the beginning of the arc and others that have been, until now, slow to develop. I think in the “pot” that all boils down to a very entertaining show and thus far I can’t pick one or any particular story line that I don’t care about… even Natas and FDJ, that at a point I thought might be a mcguffin to something else, as it progresses I’m interested.

Both in storylines and in match trajectory, there is alot of misdirection. And I could see that in the future that may get to be a tired but I’m really digging it right now. Not just misdirection wrestling wise but FW wise (or at least what I was once used to) as well.

Summation, definitely thankful Stalker Justin badgered me into coming back to the hobby and specifically to DEF. Also, alcohol. Typed, not read.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Rundown: Ran things down very well! It's DEFMAX! I always wanted JFK's name on a huge poasterboard...no matter what it says.

Shame On Me!: Great show opener. Mikey and Pete wrote this (Pete also wrote a book, if you didn't know). Mikey wrote Kendrix's introduction down to a tea. I might as well stop writing since Mikey can pretty much take my character from here! But seriously, SEG do what they do best, the pacing of Mikey's reveal was great. Impulse comes in with the much needed interruption and tells it how it is. Top stuff!

Cayle Murray v Levi Cole: So I had Cayle down to win this but the way it was written had me thinking, hang on a minute, this could be a shock here. This is great to have this feeling when reading matches. Job well done.

A Parking Lot Interlude: Well, I have no idea who these guys were but clearly they are a bunch of bad asses! Evans had to get involved to try and restore order, she's not up for any shit today! Dan Ryan is awesome, challenges both men and gets his match later in the night. Nice to see an impromptu match on the card...but I'm guessing it won't be much of a wrestling match!

Ask and you shall receive: Boy, things just get more annoying for Evans! Perfection gets what he wants obvs! Again Evans doesn't back down. Nice use of the contract stipulation, must win here for Perfection. Build up to the match here was spot on.

Bronson Box v Frank Pastore: This match became super interesting after the last show where we saw Pastore win the triple threat match. Wasn't sure who would win this but I was leaning toward Box at the start. A little bit of shenanigans involved but as expected, pretty brutal match up. Box is off the mark with a win.

Cheap Heat: Bronson Box is a heel, yo! This man has one hell of a chip on his shoulder. Man's a beast, love the character.

Perfection v Codename: Reaper: Two in ring debuts. A lot of good build up from both characters here so I was really interested to see how the match would hold up and if it would do it justice. It did indeed, flowed really well and the finish was good for both men. Looking forward to seeing how this one develops moving forward.

Quit Living in the Past: I wrote this, hope you enjoyed.

Pre-Match Fuckery: I love PCP. Just so good. They literally try anything to avoid actually wrestling. Good angle with the Brazen bashing. Read well, I wasn't expecting anyone of the caliber of Big Murr and Natas to come out at all. Was thinking they were going to lose the titles here, until of course the super quick DQ!

The Itch Part VI: Another top seg. Written well, especially for someone like me who hadn't heard of these two characters before. Liked what I've seen before from Douglas and starting to get a really good feel for the rivalry here. Will be interesting to see if Scott can indeed keep whatever happened in the past in the past and not let it explode all over DEFIANCE!

Curtis Penn v Kendrix: I wrote with Jon. Was a pleasure!

Scottish Civil War II: The heat between these two just keeps on going. Follows seamlessly from the uncut Murrays interview. A lot of bad blood brewing here. Two of the favs for DEFMAX no doubt. Will it indeed be the final?

The Turn Around: This was interesting to say the least. Is there a relationship forming between Penn and Katze?

Impulse v Mikey Unlikely: Great match, shock result, Mikey actually winning via submission with a legitimate wrestling maneuver! Angus can't believe it. In Impulse's defense he was hurt but how cocky is Mikey gonna be on the next show? Is it possible for him to be more cocky?!

Sorry and Shit: It was coming. These two are dangerous men and they are gonna beat the living hell out of each other!

Dan Ryan v Wade Elliot: This was just a brawl as I thought. No wrestling match here folks. Dan Ryan grabbing the camera and warning Tyler that he's in line for the same treatment and more at the end was an awesome way to close the show.

Great stuff all round guys!

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

UNCUT 13

PETTINESS PERFECTED

Perfection still wears suits with shoulder pads. I knew it! Being set prior to match, it doesn't tell us much we didn’t already know except ol' Jimbo rocks the Gordon Gecko shoulder pads and is a massive tool. Aptly titled.

CAN WE BE FRANK WITH YOU?
Quick Pastore riff before Gamble steps in, but a quick segment giving Frank some time to speak and further showing Gamble's agitated character. Gamble doesn’t seem like the type to forget quickly.

DOWNTIME
I was confused as to what DOWNTIME was, other then just actual downtime.

DRAKEBRUVS
Best heel heat ever... co-sign Drake! Fun piece that doesn’t seem to mean much other than it’s hilarious. Unless there could be fall out from PCP’s egregious betrayal

HALF BAKED, STARRING CALICO ROSE
Similar to DRAKEBRUVS, although we do get a hint and some insight on Impulse's loss to Mikey. Still very interested in the Mikey/Impulse angle and can’t wait to see where it’ll go.

SCOTTISH CIVIL WAR: PT. 2
A little history and little bravado. This is still heating up getting ready to boil over. As all the pieces fall into place I’m sure this is going to have one hell of a blow off.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Great show everyone. Very enjoyable read this week!

Intro: Intro'd, innit!

Reap What You Sow: Show opener was a fun read. Reaper and Perfection get in each other's face some more, Evans trying to maintain order. Someone needs to fix the lights in the building and how on earth does Reaper move from one place to the next so damn quickly?!

Scott Douglas v Jack Hunter: Great to finally see the debut of Scott Douglas. I imagined this was going to be a pretty simple/standard victory for him over the SuperBest...but I was very mistaken. Pastore gets involved, causes Scott to be distracted and Hunter with the shock win! Written well, good story telling and pacing. Looking forward to seeing what develops between Douglas and Hunter. More importantly though, is this the start of a new #streak for Hunter?!

Dan Ryan/Tyler Rayne Destruction Segs: Awesome, good continuation from the destruction from the last show. Great written descriptions of locations and surroundings in these. Great build up to the unsanctioned match later.

Impulse v Levi Cole: I laughed so hard all the way through this due to the Mikey Unlikely commentary. So so good! Match went the way I thought it would, much needed win for Impulse to get him back on track in the DefMAX tournament. Enjoyed the stare down between the Impulse and Unlikely at the end of the match. Great work guys.

History is Two Sided: Mike Sloan kind of begrudgingly trying to reach out to Penn but Curtis is such an asshole. I found reading the History between these two interesting as i'm still relatively new to Defiance, but Penn is having none of it. I Like where this is going.

Whatever The Smelliest City In America Is, We Aren't There: So jealous that the PCP got to go to the Drake Concert! Top douchebaggery heeling as per from the SEG members!

Curtis Penn v Frank Pastore: Good match, big win for Penn over the newcomer Pastore via submission which puts him at the top of Group B as things stand.

Don't Bring a Sports Entertainer to a Rasslefite: Nice backstage seg where we have Natas and Big Murr discussing squid murr's chances against the slippery Mickey Unlikely. Good build up for the match ahead as well as getting an insight to Big Murr's thoughts on his current motivations in Defiance.

Cayle Murray v Mike Unlikely: Solidly written match, great read. Cayle in complete control from the start as you'd expect with Mikey's limited wrestling ability. But, Mikey knows a few tricks and makes a fight of it in the end. However, Cayle digs deep for the win via submission. However, there was no need to break Mikey's hollywood nose prior to this. That's the man's livelihood!

Bronson Box v Kendrix: I wrote this with Evan, hope you all liked.

Gorilla Positions: Bronson is not a happy bunny backstage post defeat to Kendrix. Man is obsessed with the Murray's which clearly showed in the prior match. The tension between these scots is going to explode and I for one cannot wait to see what happens!

FDJ v Natas: Brutal Brutal Brutal. What else would you expect. New Champ on the scene!

Innit Though?!: I wrote this with Mikey. Hope everyone enjoyed.

Dan Ryan v Tyler Rayne (Unsanctioned): Dan Ryan is on a f'ing mission! These two have been scrapping with each other all night and all over the place and it comes to a sickening finish at the end of the night. Broken leg for Rayne with absolutely no remorse from the FIST. What's gonna happen next week?!

Great show everyone, well done all!

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

RUNDOWN
Down things of a certain nature were ran. That's what everyone normally says here right?
Good tourney recap stuff though. And the shows begins as it previously ended! HOSSFIGHTS, I believe is the patwa. I like the almost direct continuity from one show to the next. I’m sure we’ll see more of this before the night is over.

REAP WHAT YOU SEW
Great segway from the opening, brawl for all in the family and this segment. At the opening it felt like this was going nowhere fast but with the arrival of Evans it picked up quickly. Perfection gets to poke his chest out enough to present the character in the light he views himself, and also gets taken down peg by the end. Lends to an interesting dynamic walking into the PPV.

DEBUT MATCH: SCOTT DOUGLAS VS. JACK HUNTER
Wrote this with Murr and John.

QUICK WORKOUT
Really dig what seems like it’ll be a thruline for the entire show.

DEF*MAX ROUND TWO: IMPULSE VS. LEVI COLE [BLOCK A]
Angus forced to cohabitate with who he just recently referred to as a anal polyp… perfect. Oreo Frappes! Hossitude. Great match and the commentary was certainly made the whole thing extra enjoyable!

HISTORY IS TWO-SIDED
Very interesting segments between this weeks and last. Lot of history between these two and given this weeks I would imagine its not last we’ll see between the two. I was suprised (honestly not know the charecters that will) Penn let Sloan carry on for so long but when finally had enough and lit into him he certainly didn’t pull any punchs!

WHATEVER THE SMELLIEST CITY IN AMERICA IS, WE AREN'T THERE
PCP, what else needs to be said. Great heel segment. Completely oblivious to their own ignorance. It’s overall pretty perfect. At times it would start to feel mirandering until the very next line would bring it right back. DRAKE NEEDS US. I wonder if this is just stand alone comedy or they’ll be any dissension in the ranks of SEG, because PCP got to see Drizzle.

DEF*MAX ROUND TWO: CURTIS PENN VS. FRANK PASTORE [BLOCK B]
Good showing for the giant Pastore. Penn’s rant toward Sloan earlier proves he can back it up. The chair spot following the ref bump was funny and interesting. Penn trying to get Pastore DQ’d, Doyle is still out and Penn takes the chair shot anyway. Good heel vs heel spot, shows neither have a problem cheating and also makes Pastore look strong that Penn would try to find a out in that fashion. And the pass out rather than the tap let’s the newer of the two look strong in defeat.

ON STANDBY
Great writing. Quick but keeps the bit going without feeling tired.

DON'T BRING A SPORTS ENTERTAINER TO A RASSLEFITE
Good read. Sets some stakes for Natas and Frank, which I imagine won’t actually end here so boosts up interest for the seemingly inevitable PPV rematch. Gives Murray’s take on the current box situation as well as puts over Cayle. Question is whether Murray is kidding himself about titles and such and if his intent on staying out of Cayle’s way is just foreshadowing to the two eventually having to square up.

DEF*MAX ROUND TWO: CAYLE MURRAY VS. MIKEY UNLIKELY [BLOCK A]
Hollywood McShitshovel. Angus stuck between a rock and a Mikey place was an awesome touch. And the nose break! That will certainly lend to something fantastic from Mikey. Maybe he can spin it into a Plastic Surgeons of Hollywood episode appearance or some such. Mikey taps, Impulse ought to have enjoyed watching that.

DEF*MAX ROUND TWO: BRONSON BOX VS. KENDRIX [BLOCK B]
Innit! JFK on the mic is incredibly entertaining. Going off on Box seems like a death wish but the impression was great. Although fu ckin instead of fookin, in there. Still great. Good match. Angus asking about the beer guy was a great line of dialogue. Entertaining match. Very surprised to see JFK put up such a great showing against Box. Although Box’s preoccupation with Murray certainly cost him the match. Good read, innit!

GORILLA POSITIONS
This segment puts a fine point on the brilliant booking that just took place, in that Cayle beats a SEG member, while Box takes a L. Brilliant both in the execution of the booking and then using this segment to point it out and show how that really ratchets up Box’s anger.

DEFIANCE ONSLAUGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: FRANK DYLAN JAMES (C) VS. JASON NATAS

HOSSSSSSFIIIIIIITTTTEEEEEEEE! The slow build to this has been great and thought I can’t by into this being the blow off just yet, it is dope to see this finally coming to blows in ring on the weekly show rather than holding till PPV. Or worse putting them in some weird tag match that makes nearly no sense. I digress. Great match and a new champ on tv! That’s ‘rasslin’ I want to watch.

INNIT THOUGH?!
INNIT! Slutty investigative journalism. I thought for a second when Mikey showed up that possible the Bruv honeymoon was over. But of course not. Great segment. Odd duality being that its the vindicated heel with the scorned heel. All though still funny at moments… a much more serious tone from these two. Great call back to the PCP/Drake bit of business as well.

THE ROAR OF THE FAITHFUL/DAN RYAN VS. TYLER RAYNE [UNSANCTIONED]
Hell of a build for this throughout the entire show. I think the length of the finality is perfect. After all the tidbits throughout the night if this had read longer it may have gotten tired but this was dead on. Great writing top to bottom and epicly violent. WALK IT OFF, TYLER!!! WALK IT OFF!!! Gangster. Who can stop Dan Ryan?

Overall, great show. Very entertaining read!

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

BEEF

The Rundown:

A fun piece this week, have to cover the FIST feud and the DEFMAX tourney stuff. Nice intro, Im very hype for this one! Dany Ryan and Tyler Rayne are brawling already, and they are supposed to be last. Could be a long night between these two.

Reap what you Sow:

Nice segment hear from Reaper and perfection. Reaper appears in the ring, with mic in hand and calls out Perfection for his cheap ways. Evans comes out to restore order. Then Perfection interrupts as well. Nice back and forth here from Evans and Perfection, felt pretty authentic. Loved this bit. Excited for the rematch!

Douglas vs Hunter:
Finally Scott Douglas makes his debut…. Finally JACK HUNTER IS BACK BAY BAY!!! Interesting match. Started very job esque then improved greatly. Love the loss for Douglas. Does so much more for him than a win here, because there is a much bigger story to tell! YUS! Super psyched after this one. Tony Gamble, Frank Pastore/ vs Scott Douglas feud could be a definite banger.

Quick Workout-
This starts as something… and then turns into something else. Love when you can set a seg up that way. Great way to continue the fighting from the first seg. Im sure its still JUST getting started lol. Medicine Ball = Devastating Weapon (that's a first for me, and I loved it.)

Impulse vs Levi Cole.
There was supposed to be a Mikey seg before this, but we worked it into one big match/seg. Sorry for the deviation from the run sheet. Great quick match from Pete. The Veteran should absolutely dominate the “BRAZEN” guy here but it was a pretty even match up. Both men got their spots in. I enjoyed doing commentary on this piece and hope it didnt overshadow that match, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

History is Two Sided -
Very nice follow up to Mike Sloan and Penn from last DEFtv. This is shedding a lot more light on the history and perking my interest quickly. Penn is confident as Fuck, and I love it.

Whatever the smelliest…
Top Heel Work from the tag team champions who are missing from the show. They went to represent the SEG at the Drake show! No Klein tho… Mikeys got him locked down! Very fun and very entertaining segment.

Penn vs Pastore
Very good match up. Formatting was a bit off, but reading wise it didn't take anything away from it. Very good match, good length, and a nice story. The only criticism I have of this one, is you have people recovering from high impact/big moves fairly quickly. Running knee to the corner to Penns face and a comment like “his neck isnt supposed to bend that way” then three seconds later he’s powerbombing someone. Little things like that, but otherwise Pastore is solidifying himself as a real competitor and Curtis Penn picks up a big win in the DEFMAX.

On Standby
Iris Devine catches a glimpse of the huge brawl between Tyler Rayne and Dan Ryan. Good continuity. I am more into this brawl then last weeks. These guys have got to be gassed by now!

Don’t Bring A Sports Entertainer to a Resslefight.
Natas and Andy Murray discussing Cayles match with Mikey upcoming as well as covering the Frank vs Natas angle. Good work incorporating multiple topics into this one segment. Enjoyed very much.

Cayle vs Mikey
Wrote this with Murrr. He wrote most. Murrr is easy to work with. Enjoy.

JFK vs Bronson Box:
AWESOME MATCH HERE! My favorite of the night thus far! WOW! Had all the feels. That ending was fantastic and so was all the talking in between. Loved the bit where JFK does a terrible impression of Box, and the five superkicks, my gawd. Terrific! Thought Box had it in the bag at the end for sure. Good match, and HUGE win for JFK! Beating Bronson Box for the second time in his young career.

Gorilla Positions:
Cayle runs into Bronson, who runs into Andy! Great way to keep the heat here. Loved this little face to face altercation. Wasn’t needed but the feud definitely benefits from it. Box is going down a dangerous path, going against the numbers game.

FDJ vs Natas: Onslaught

Holy fookin shit! WOW! Now I remember why we created this division! LOL. What an awesome read. Love the violent back and forth, Love the brutal shots. I could FEEL this one. Natas wins the Onslaught in what feels like a very appropriate passing of the title. Natas is someone the division could be built around. Oh how far Natas has come since DEFCON!

Innit Though:
Wrote with Stevie. The entire beginning was all him and was fantastic. “Make sure you get JFK’s good side… LOL” “The Original Bruv”. This is too good! “.and the Sports Entertainment Guild are the New Defiants...The Future!” so many quotables from JFK. Christie Zane and her Slutty Investigative Journalism. Owen Wilson reference. (The bruvs can never ever breakup, its too much fun writing these segs)

The Roar-Ryan vs Rayne
Awesome! Totally awesome! Dan Ryan DESTROYS his opponent. After an all night brawl that went back and forth. Last show the Dan Ryan Brawl fell a little flat to me. This show I was ALL ABOARD this one. Great writing, Great continuity, and an interesting read. Looking forward to the return of Lynsanity.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

I can't go line by line at the moment, but I wanted to get some feedback down.

First off, thanks to everyone for the comments on my stuff. Lindsay wrote the backstage brawl segments and I wrote the final bit when they came through the curtain in front of the crowd. I thought she captured what we wanted from those segments really well, and I tried to hit the specific feel that I wanted from this in the end. I'm glad people seemed to enjoy it.

I really love Curtis Penn, I have to say. He's on the verge, I think.

The matches on the show were well written. I didn't really see anything stand out as sub-par, and that's becoming the norm. The writing has gotten much tighter lately. People are listening to feedback and applying things rather than entrenching in their opinions, and it's making for a better show overall.

Segments were strong. I really liked the FDJ segment.

I think I'll leave it there. I liked the show and it was good enough that nothing bad stood out to me, and most everything was expectedly good.

Good job everyone.
