We have a six days before the end of the extended role play period and I'm extremely happy with the turn out so far. We lost two, possibly four handlers as a result of the hiatus but we retained to bulk of the roster and actually gained two handlers during said hiatus.

So all in all ... I'd say we are in good shape.

I really want to keep this moving and get a good pace going so we can all get back on track. That being the case anyone willing to act as a match writer for the card please check in below and don't be surprised if you get you match (sans the finish) and day or two early to get a jump start on things.

Speaking of match writing... (see what I did there?)

I'm going to need just as much help and participation from everyone that Justin was receiving. Under his tenure I wrote at least one match a card and sometimes two. So two or three won't kill me but... If the lower I can keep in the better we'll all be so that I can focus on the continuity of the card as a whole and making sure we churn out the best product as possible in a swift fashion.

All that being said, one of the biggest time killers for me is editing format and protecting the character of our IWF commentary team. So to help (note: NOT insult anyone's intelligence.) I put together a few guides based on how I've written for IWF, things Justn an I discussed over my time as a handler, and just some things that always seemed to have fell between the cracks. All open for discussion, notes, corrections and the like ... of course.

Please, if your going to help write please take a second to at least skim these and/or use them as reference in your writing. As always you can reach me easily via PM, or AIM (KaeGiaconaIND)

These guides can be found here: League Info

I would also like to raise a question and see how everyone feels about it...

With the help of Strawsma I recently started to use Google Doc's a little more then I even have. One awesome thing I found was the live multi-user editing it featured.

So, my thought is ... if match writers as well as segment writers were to write (or at least copy and paste) their progress into Google docs as they write, and PM me the link I could:

  • Track progress of the show more efficiently.
  • Solve/Alleviate issues and/or conflicts well ahead of time.
  • Be able to leave notes, and such during the writing instead of after, hence improving the overall continuity of the show.
  • (Notes would of course pertain to intro/outro of segments and matches and how they fit into a show. If Paz is being used a segment before you pen her in your peice that would be nice to know with a little advanced notice.)

Can matchwrite, but I don't want to write my own match or handlers writing their own matches. And as you did with Surge, prepare to edit my shit as much as you did before, despite the guides (I'm not mean, just telling you we don't have a mind for the broadcast characters as much as you do). Not used to google.docs, just gonna PM you the match as soon as it's finished.

I would be completely new to matchwriting, but if you're willing to give me a shot I'd be happy to help.

Thanks for the reply. I understand everyone doesn't have the mind for the broadcast characters, hence the guide. I don't have a problem editing what so ever, but I posted the guide to help everyone move in the right direction in hopes of limiting the amount of editing needed to be able to bring everyone timely and quality product.

I appreciate your participation and most certainly won't be sending you - your own match. We came to that understanding during the rushed completion of Surge. I understand your preference and will oblige.

As far as handlers writing their own matches, I can't do much to help you there. For those who, win/loose/or draw, prefer to pen their own match I have no issue with that, especially when an angle is involved. (I think I've written every Douglas match, except vs. Waltz since this started... maybe not.)

Thanks for checking in, as soon as I have a handle of the line up, I'll PM you a match assignment.

And for those counting, that's one vote NO for Google Docs, lol.
