EDIT: Spoilers. Read the f'king show first.

The spotlight of the evening definitely belonged to Eddie Mayfield. I think JK does a great job of portraying him as a despicable bastard with honorable intentions - he's vengeful and he's petty and he's prone to poking his antagonists when they're down, but it's all done in the name of the survival and honor of New Frontier Wrestling.

This is also probably the closest to a 'reboot' we're ever likely to see, and it's organically done. Three titles either stripped or on 'probation' all at once has probably never been done as part of the ongoing storyline before in any promotion anywhere. At least, not this well. You can hate on Eddie for the way he treated Joe as his champion but you can't disagree with his logic in stripping him of the belt. Likewise with the Pure Championship, and his attitude toward the National Title.

In the Main Event, Dan Ryan standing with the Windham Clan was an interesting twist. I'm going to be looking forward to seeing Dan Ryan's rationale behind it considering he and Troy have never even remotely liked each other. It also gives some added muscle to the Windhams since Mark is now out for good.

That said... there were some flaws. Like I said above, three titles either stripped or on probation means that the only Champion left in good standing is Castor V Strife and his TV Title, and I thought Castor was poorly represented. Additionally, while there were a bunch of angles simmering in the main event, there has been a blood feud going on between Impulse and Castor for about a year now and I didn't see any of that coming across. Castor has been crazy paranoid towards Troy for the past few weeks and I didn't see any of that coming across.

Ryan taking Impulse out makes sense in the context of the story, turning on the tag team partner, etc. But at that point, the match is effectively over, and I didn't really think Ryan's sudden taking out of Castor with one clothesline was necessary: as the most active Champion in NFW right now I think Castor needs to stay particularly strong, and I think Ryan's turn did not need Castor to be fed to him to make it, the turn was already made.

All in all a good match, but I think it could've been a GREAT match with a few tweaks.

Spoilers ahead people!

Firstly the segment showing Castor's paranoia came off well as he tries to create a timeline ,albeit in his own unhinged mind, of the whole situation with Troy and using the man obsessed with the Kennedy assassination in Bloodhunt was a good start. Hopefully this leads to Castor asking others in the future whether Troy was 'involved' regardless of truth.

Eddie's big speech I felt came across as giving his reasoning behind certain actions. As said in the previous feedback Eddie's actions are about NFW's survival ever since he got given the reins by Miles and his reasoning for his actions are simple yet effective: Rook lost the belt and is treating the National title in a fashion Eddie sees unbecoming so an ultimatum needed to be given, Stevens didn't show actions fitting of a PURE champion and Joe deserted the company.

The JJ match also showed some tension it seems with Deville not being all best pleased about Bandit's help as he tries to prove himself in NFW regardless of who he associates with.

Main Event had a good twist with Dan Ryan deciding to stand with the clan and it does give the vibe of if Troy can turn a well known rival to his side and they seem to be united in one common cause in their hatred for Eddie's running of the ship as they feel legends like them are being set aside. At least that's how I see the reasoning for the turn.

Supercrash should be interesting with many questions such as the plans for the world title, Legion's revelation, the explanation for Dan Ryan's turn and will Troy recruit any more to his cause all looking to be answered.

Interesting takes on Eddie!

I was the only one that knew about his speech, it came in my head well after the bookings were decided on...so no matchwriter would know how to include it...and it came about moreso because certain people weren't answering IM's, PM's, emails. :)

While Castor's belt isn't on probation...I tried to get across that Eddie's not impressed over the fact he wants money for taking out his former lackey. I definitely wouldn't say he's in "good standing," I think the only complimented wrestler was Impulse. (IRONY!)

What I will work on moving forward is putting in a little more attention to detail. We don't have many people here contributing matches, so I'm just happy they're getting written. Yet, we don't have anyone other than myself knowing the full gamut of historical feuds/references. So I will chip in on that front. I can't ask that of every matchwriter and it's something that's just going to fall on my shoulders.

Liked the card a lot. I had my fingers on a lot of stuff but the World Title announcement -- huge.

Anyways, here's my psychology for the final match:

One of my pet peeves in "real" wrestling is when there is some sort of turn on partners in a tag match after a lengthy tag match. I remember I was at ECW once a while back when Candido and Storm were tag partners/rivals at once taking on Sabu and RVD. It was a great match but then at the end of a 45 minute match Candido turned on Storm.

It just bugged me: Why on earth are you turning on each other after wrestling this classic match? It happens a lot in wrestling so I wanted to change it up a bit from that.

Another psychology aspect -- this is obstensibly showed on TV. So there has to be a little bit of a "We don't have time for almost an hour long matched followed by a 15 minute punking/brawl angle."

The other part: I obviously have a hang on Troy's character, and since I knew the angle ahead of time, I wanted to make him the focus of the match. I also know Dorchester obviously. And I also know Dan Ryan and have written him in matches about 10 times probably. I haven't written Impulse/Castor yet so I wanted to keep the match as short as possible so I didn't screw that match up.

"Not Part of the Plan" segment- Very well written, as usual. Impulse is a solid, down to earth guy with sarcastic wit, who always seems to have the world against him no matter what he does. Now he's targeted by the Windhams, and I'm intrigued to see how this plays out.

Jack Bryant vs. JJ Deville- Entertaining match; love that Problem Child gets called "Peter Windham" now, lol. I also really like the Jack Bryant character and hope to see Biron stick with him.

State of the Union- Wow. NFW is really at a crossroads right now, both in character and out. Eddie doesn't hold back his contempt for the league's champions, which is kinda funny actually. Wasn't much room left for JTP to come back short of a Jesuit miracle, should Devin ever stumble out of the tall grass. St. Luke's basically said Troy, Dorch, and Dan Ryan turned JTP into a half a crippled retard, so if the man who rape-choked Hornet with barbwire didn't roll back into NF-Dub in a wheelchair, I'd have to question whether or not it was actually the Ultimate Warrior's purported twin. That or Doink 2.

Main Event- I've never minced words about the fact that Gregg is my favorite writer of all-time in this hobby. I don't think I've ever read a match or promo of his that wasn't at least an 8 out of 10. So I hope my good buddy doesn't take offense when I say I absolutely hated this match. Yes, my complaints have to do with the use of my own character, and yes, that does make me a douche. But I accept this. As for the match...

-Castor's entire experience in this match amounted to starting the match off against Dan Ryan, getting raped by Dan Ryan in what would have been record time if not for the slow count of Troy Windham, and crawling to tag in his 5'8 partner for the save, who proceeds to give Dan Ryan enough trouble that he rushes to tag in 5'11 Impulse. Question: why are 6'3 245 and 6'7 335 lb men running to their cruiserweight partners for the power tag? And given that Castor gets Humility Bombed after the match like everybody else, does it make sense that his only other experience in the match was an assbeating that actually made the Humility Bomb look tame by comparison?

-Dorchester hits his finisher on Impulse, only to pass up the victory to nail Windham to a pop. Kinda heroic for the sleaziest, most underhanded heel in NFW, no? Wouldn't that be something that Castor or Impulse do, given one's violent obsession with Troy and the other's experience with him earlier in the night?

-I understand not wanting to get too heavy into Castor/Impulse, but does it make sense for the two biggest rivals in NFW to not even cross each other once in the match?

-Castor's abject paranoia toward Troy Windham played absolutely no part in this match. In light of Castor/Impulse not getting spotlighted at all, shouldn't this have gotten just a little play?

- "H'WOOD: While both Castor and Dorchester have been victimized by Windham Clan attacks… they do not seem to bare personal grudges against Troy." Huh? I spent the last month writing exactly the opposite, in Castor's case. He's blamed Troy for every unfortunate event that's ever occurred in his life. I'd call that a grudge.

-Saving grace: Dan Ryan joining the Windham Clan was definitely cool. Not sure why a 6'7 48-time champion needs to murder everyone within the Vancouver city limits to get heat off the turn, but it certainly makes things interesting going forward.

Final thoughts: Again, this was a mostly self-interested analysis of the match, but I just feel like we had four of the top guys in a tag match, and everybody got something spotlighted except Castor. Considering his beef with Impulse and Troy, it wouldn't have been difficult to write a paragraph or something to get one or the other across. Castor couldn't have been more of a non-factor. In essence, that typo about the match being Impulse/Dan Ryan vs. Dorchester/Dan Ryan wasn't too far from the truth. :) He's mostly looked strong before this, and I'll continue to do my best to get him over afterwards, but there was honestly no point in having Castor in this match other than to put over Dan Ryan and Dorchester.

Like I said, I've never disliked anything GG ever wrote before. No big deal, it's just a hobby. But this one time I'm gonna be honest and say I wasn't thrilled with the match.

Overall, the card was decent, but we've put out better. Maybe it's just a reflection of the lull in activity around here lately, I dunno.

Keep in mind, this was a two page match. The amount of details to length of match ratio was going to get someone lost no matter what. Unfortunately, it was Castor this time. I think we hit a patch where people were busy and couldn't devote the full 100% to the show. So, we ended up with a short-form/recap styled piece that normally is written out more fully. I'm sure there were alot of ideas for a full match, but then we're running late and something needs to get written.

I think moving forward, like I said...I'll need to be a better editor and the more the characters are interacting, the more comfortable everyone should be writing one another.

I actually disagree on having Castor/Impulse cross each other. My opinion is that Impulse's nature would definitely be to wrestle the match straight up, so it would've been on Castor to do that if anyone...and I'm not sure that would've pushed us in the direction we wanted to go. Touching on their history, I understand that...Castor blindsiding Impulse mid-match would've gone against the backdrop of the match, and there's no way Castor can be trusted in a Windham Clan fight moving forward.

And when did anything accurate come out of Lamont's mouth on these shows? :p
