[updated:LAST EDITED ON Aug-29-02 AT 01:18 AM (EDT)](FADE-IN: The camera pans around the crowd at the Kohl arena. CUE-UP: "N.W.O" by Ministry. The fans pop hard. King Krusher comes out in a dark blue dress shirt with the GLCW logo on it and black slacks. He stands on the rampway and speaks)

KING KRUSHER: "Good evening, Madison, Wisconsin! <cheap pop> I just have a couple announcements to make and I will be out of your hair. You're probably all wondering what the Great Lakes Gauntlet actually is. Well, It's going to be a six man elimination gauntlet match, which means two competitors face off to start, and as one wrestler is pinned, disqualified or counted out, the next wrestler in line will take his place! This will continue until everyone is eliminated and one wrestler remains! And that wrestler will get the GLCW Television Title! This will be decided along with the GLCW Heavyweight Title and the GLCW Tag Team Titles at GLCW's first big supercard, Chi-Town Showdown 1 from my hometown, Chicago, Illinois, in two weeks at the UIC Pavillion! Of course, we are in the midst of a tournament to decide the Great Lakes Heavyweight Champion, and the Finals will be decided at Chi-Town Showdown as well! My other announcement has to do with Michael Manson! <crowd boos> Yeah, Yeah I know, he's an idiot. Well, he's a broke idiot because I just fined him a month's worth of paychecks to pay for Mr. Impossible's doctor bills! <crowd roars> So Manson, keep it up, I'm watching you REAL close! And with that, I'm outta here, enjoy the rest of the show folks!" <crowd roars as K.K. leaves>

(CUT-TO: Matt Faley in the ring, ready to announce the next bout. CUE-UP: “Whiskey in the Jar” by Metallica. Out comes Hawk McDaniel, he wears black shorts with the words “Big Texan” on them, as well as cowboy-style wrestling boots.)

M.F.: “From Sweetwater, Texas, weighing 309 pounds. He is “The Big Texan,” Hawk McDaniel!

(Crowd cheers pretty for the Texan. CUE-UP: “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen. “Showtime” Steven James comes down to a relatively nice pop as well, waving to the fans as he makes his way down the aisle. He wears blue and yellow pants as he runs into the ring, sliding below the bottom rope.)

M.F.: “His opponent, weighing 240 pounds, he is from Warwick, Rhode Island, and he is 'Showtime' STEVEN JAMES!

T.R.: “And this match is on, McDaniel calling for the test of strength, and James waving him off. James may be fearless, but he’s not stupid taking on the man 70 pounds heavier in such a futile test. McDaniel comes back with brawling punches, getting Showtime in the corner. He goes for a chop, and nails it. Another... and another! James whips McDaniel into the same turnbuckle. 1, 2, 3 chops!"

R.W.:”This match is shaping up to be relatively old school, a style that fits Hawk a bit better than Showtime.”

T.R.: “And now James tosses Hawk to the rope, drop toe hold, floatover and a leg drop to the back of the head. James picks up McDaniel, and hits a snap suplex. He lays to hard elbows down, lifts up McDaniel again with a suplex, but Hawk counters and picks up James... stalling suplex, and James is down. McDaniel lifts James up into a abdominal stretch of sorts, and James fights his way out of it before it’s locked. This crowd is really into this match as both men are favorable and doing well so far in this match. James now taking control, whipping McDaniel into the ropes hard, using Hawk’s own momentum to propel him with a belly-to-belly. James on the top, and he hits a drop kick as McDaniel gets to his feet. Showtime lifts Hawk up in a sleeper, and Hawk counters into a sleeper of his own, and Showtime counters with a sleeper again! Showtime with a running bulldog on Hawk, and his motioning to the top! He climbs the ropes, mounts the turnbuckle, and leaps off with a diving headbutt. Direct hit! 1...2...3! “Showtime” Steven James comes away with a win on the bigger man!"

R.W.: "A great match, with James really taking control there at the end. Coming up fans, we’ve got Troy Martinez and “God’s Gift” Dean McQueen!"

T.R: ”In fact, right now we’ve got Troy Martinez in the back with GLCW’s very own, Lady Veronica!"

(CUT TO: Lady Veronica backstage)

LADY VERONICA: "Fans, I am joined at this time by "The Eradicator" Troy Martinez and his manager, Karen Jewello. Troy, do you have any last minute thoughts as you head into your match with 'God's Gift' Dean McQueen?"

TROY MARTINEZ: "Well, I am a bit surprised that this so-called 'God's Gift' to the GLCW has been so quiet leading up to our match. I've always heard that it is the quiet ones that you have to worry about, but I really don't think that will be the case tonight. You see, I am focussed. I am ready to step into the ring and show the fans and Mr. McQueen that 'The Eradicator' isn't down and out after losing to Golem. I can bounce back and soon I will square off with Golem and I will pin his furry shoulders to the mat....ONE...TWO....THREE!!!! McQueen is just a little road bump in my path to success and I am simply going to flatten him!!"

LADY V: "Karen, do you have anything that you'd like to add?"

KAREN JEWELLO: "Troy is in the best shape of his career and he will hold gold in the GLCW. It is all just a matter of time. Golem is high on Troy's priority list, but he has his eyes on everyone. Whoever wishes to be the best in the GLCW, sooner or later will have to go through this man....'The Eradicator!!'"

LADY V: "There you have it, fans. Stay tuned, Troy Martinez and Dean McQueen will square off next!!"
