Hey, rules are rules, if I cheapshot somebody and his team mates so much as flinch, they should be BANNED FOR LIFE!

I was watching this series...

...now I want to boycott it.

What a great Game 4. Robert Horry hits the biggest shot of his season!

The Spurs "dynasty" will always be remembered as dirty, cheap and full of whiners...not the most respected way to be classified.

Heard Stern on the Dan Patrick show today. Wow. About a 9 on the tension scale. I don't know. I understand the rule, though it seems silly that A) there's no appeal process B) it's not on a case by case basis and C) suspension is the only answer. Why can't you fine both players? Yes, they can afford a 6 figure fine. A suspension hurts more, but for Stern to essentially mock the "you're ruining the marquee series" rhetoric is absurd. It's tough water to navigate on both sides of the issue, but for as lame as the aftermath of the incident was the Suns being punished most puts egg on the NBA's face usually reserved for MLB.

I would love Phoenix to win tonight, but I don't see it happening. It's a shame. The one series I was really into is gone.

My favorite part of the news as it broke was reading that Stern canceled his scheduled Game 5 appearance. Nice.

Be interesting to see the crowd's reaction when/if the Suns lose. We all know makeup calls don't exist, (cough) I"m guessing Bowen is whistled for a few quick ones. But seriously what kind of info does Duncan have on David Stern?

I'd rather be in a dirty, cheap winning team, than be the team that makes the people go "oooo" and "ahh" with their offense in the season and never delivers in the postseason (Suns).

It's a shame, because Tim Duncan's a nice guy and a class player. Only one on the team though. Horry's a cheapshot artist, Bowen throws elbows like Roger Clemens throws fastballs, and Ginobili flops more than a fish out of water.

Duncan is a nice guy, but I wouldn't call him a "class" player.

He argues any and every call that goes against him, and thinks he gets fouled EVERY shot. I'd say he's one of the biggest whiners in the league.

They give Duncan the "class" label to try and make him look like the Admiral, when he has nowhere near that level of character.

Sport should be about having 'fun'. At least I always thought it was - heck, that's one reason why I stopped playing rugby for my club - it stopped being fun, it was becoming a chore. I NEVER cared about winning or losing so long as it was a good match. Even watching sport I'd be OK if my side lost (except to a couple of teams) if it was a great match to watch. All the money in sports has a huge amount to answer for, it's no longer right to call things like football, the N(A)FL (I'm British, I refuse to call it anything other than American Football), NBA, MLB, rugby, tennis, etc., sports. They're businesses first and foremost these days, screw the sporting contest so long as they make money. That's why you get people trying to get any advantage they can, legally or illegally (and the illegal is normally only legal because the referee doesn't call it illegal. I referee football matches and get people diving all the time, the wimps. They don't like it when I call them on it).

Put sport back into sport, I say.

Agree with Katz.

It's hard to root against Duncan. He doesn't fight, he's so smooth down low. But, I can do without his shock and dismay over EVERY call. It's bad enough he got a ref fired this year.

Is this the year David Stern lost his touch? The fiasco with the new balls, jobbing a longtime ref, and now the hardline, nonsensical ruling in the Suns series. Not to mention coming across as an complete ass in interviews explaining his decision, essentially referring to the players as kids. "I guess we'll just have to put up a wall..."

Bad news for the Suns fans the rule will no doubt be tweaked in the offseason. Anyway, I may watch some of a Pistons/Spurs series, but blah.

All I know is all my interest went to hell when the Warriors and Suns were eliminated, so...

If LeBron doesn't make the Finals, then I could care less.

Gimmie the All-Star Game in San Francisco already, :)
