Ivy looked over toward the bed in the darkened hotel room, at the sleeping form of her boyfriend, 'Triple X' Sean Stevens. A rueful smile crosses her face as she realized that his exhausted state had nothing to do with her tonight. Quite the contrary, he's been training like a madman for this Fatal Four-Way at Fish Fund Thirteen, and after the two shared a five mile run in this insanely hot weather and a few hours in the gym - Trip on the weights and Ivy on the bike - followed by a casual dinner in the hotel's restaurant.

By 8 PM, Trip was out for the night. But Poison Ivy has a hard time falling asleep if she's not in her own bed in Queens. Hence, she's busily typing on her laptop. Her debut column for the redesigned CS Tribune is already in the books... but she's been the model citizen in the CSWA since Anniversary 2001.

Maybe it's time she broke her silence.

I guess I only have myself to blame for Dan Ryan's incessant attacks on mine and Sean's relationship - I'm the one that 'outed' us on fWo television several months ago, and then again at Anniversary 2001 in Greensboro. But I really don't care - what can Dan really say that can hurt me, or hurt Sean?

I'm a weakness? Yeah, I'm a weakness, Ryan. That's why I've earned the nickname 'Manager of Champions' all around the world. That's why I'm able to negotiate for my own contract in the wrestling world instead of leeching off whatever my current professional situation might be. For that matter, Sean and I have always separated one from the other. When he's wrestling a match, I'm his manager, nothing more. Of course, when you grabbed me by the throat the match was all but over, as you were running away.

Well, walking away at least... but you're a bit hefty in the tum', and I don't want to assume how fast you actually move.

I'm promiscuous, too? It's common knowledge? How is that, Ryan? Because I don't subscribe to the belief that a woman must be subserviant to a man? Because I don't believe that a woman should be seen and not heard? Because I dare to have a brain that I use? Hell, if the last seven years of my life, wherein I've had relationships with two men and almost got together with two others is promiscuous, then guilty as charged.

If that's your definition, Ryan... then all you could possibly be is a twenty nine year old, six foot six, three hundred and forty five pound virgin. But c'mon, you're the CHAMP, remember? Dozens of ringrats to choose from, EVERY NIGHT.

Pot, Kettle, Black... as my best friend would say. Unless Commissioner Dupree really did make you earn that pseudo- credible Unified Championship.

But I think you've gotta take a step back and look at your opponents without covering your eyes with that title belt.

Triple X is a multiple time World Champion in wrestling promotions just as established and more established than Global. But he hasn't brought that up. Shane Southern mentioned - ONCE - that he's the reigning NFW World Heavyweight Champion, and you jump all over it. Shane understands that his NFW reign carries no weight in the CSWA.

Don't even bring up Hornet. In this business you don't have the right to your own opinion until you earn it... and nobody's earned it more than Hornet. In fact... you could learn from Hornet. He had a Unified Title, too... and it was a championship recognized all over the world, not just in the remnants of a pair of wrestling organizations that had to merge in order to survive.

Scouting the CSWA for a while, Ryan? Why didn't you just concentrate on your own promotion... if you'd throw yourself full blast into GXW you might increase your business, thus eliminating your need for a second paycheck. Or just admit the fact that you want to be known as a CSWA superstar and drop the BS posturing.

No matter how much professional respect I have for Hornet, however... I wonder what his agenda is. Hornet, you told Dan Ryan that you'd make him 'sorry' if he laid a hand on me. That he wouldn't make it out of the arena under his own power.

What I want to know... is what's your angle?

I can see that hurt look on your face already. But everything you've done since the last Fish Fund has been due to some kind of ulterior motive, some kind of subliminal mission on your part.

Don't blame me for knowing you so well.

I'd forget I was even outside the ring if I were you, Hornet... looks to me you'll have enough on your mind inside. You're right, I can take care of myself... and it pays to be prepared. Always have a backup plan - that's something else I learned from you. Well you keep your mind on your opponents or you're walking out with the loser's share of the purse. And I don't need to tell you how easy it is to get cut off at the knees if you don't take your opponents seriously enough, do I?

Ask Randalls about Timmy if you don't believe me. Hell, ask Tsunami and Wildstar about Brigsby and Paige if you really don't believe me.

You challenged Sean to be the wrestler that you are, Hornet... that's hard enough for anyone to measure up to. I can't deny your talent - nor the fact that you've earned everything you have, and I wouldn't compromise my integrity by trying. But I say that the odds are stacked against you, Hornet. You've got two men and a jellyfish who all want the notch on their belt that would come from being able to say they pinned you at FISH FUND.

You challenged Sean to be the champion that you are. Dangerous ground, Hornet.... of the last two men who tried to be the champion that you are, one was branded and humiliated, and deported to Montana to rot in the snow, and the other was 'dealt with' by you, Randalls, Flair, and yes - myself, when he - dare I say it - SURPASSED you, comparatively speaking. Time will tell, Hornet... time will tell.

I'll tell you the same thing I told Sean... keep your head in your match and away from who might want to take me out. I didn't earn the nicknames 'Manager of Champions' and 'Psycho Bitch' by being a pushover, Hornet. Know your environment. Know your risks. Always have a backup plan... and carry a big stick.

Four for four.

You also told Sean he would never be the man that you are, Hornet...

...but trust me when I tell you, he is a better man than you.

This is Ivy.

Ivy quickly reread her words, and hit 'SEND' on her E-Mail software. She closed out of the program and hit 'SHUT DOWN', easing her way back to bed.

"Ivy?"

"Damn, Sean... I didn't want to wake you."

"S'okay," replied Trip, "You alright?"

Trip moved to one side of the bed so Ivy could get in and slink under the covers. They lay there, facing each other, their foreheads practically touching.

"I'm fine," replied Ivy, "just having trouble falling asleep."

Trip kissed her forehead and pulled her close. She buried her face in his collarbone, closing her eyes in relaxation. "I'm sorry, you need your sleep... I shouldn't have gotten up."

"Eh, don't worry about it," said Trip, "So I'll catch a nap tomorrow if I'm tired... it happens."

They lay in silence for a few moments. Ivy gently stroked his cheek, while he ran his hands through her hair.

"G'nite Sean, I love you."

"Love you, too."

Ivy slept peacefully.
