TEAM Fantasy Draft '07 OFFICIAL INFO AND SIGN-IN THREAD

Have you ever wanted to assemble your own fed of all the all-star characters you wanted but never had the chance? Well, I have the opportunity for you. TEAM is officially announcing its 2007 Fantasy Draft, where you assemble your dream roster in draft mode. You can select any character in the history of eW as long as that character hasn't been taken by another drafter.

How do you sign-up?

Sign up in this thread by giving your name, your fed's name and your fed's commissioner. Example:

Name: Joe Blow
Fed: Average Joe's Wrestling (AJW)
Commissioner: Mr. Smith

Right now, eight people are signed up from the initial thread. Those people are guaranteed a spot, and all they need to do is put their info in this thread. Here's the list:

Tom Siegel
Lindsay Branca
Shane Gerlach
Dan West
Jarret Aubry
Jon Katz
Adam Shinder
Ryan Aston

The following signed up in this thread:

Jason Swift
Shane Carnes

And the following signed up in the other thread after this was posted.

Andrew Medina

One spot left! Deadline's Monday at 11:59:59 PM!

How will the order work?

The first round will be randomly selected. The order from the first round will be inverted, so that the last pick in the first round picks first in the second, and so on and so forth. The third round will be randomly selected and the order from that round will be inverted for the fourth, etc. etc.

How many rounds?

Sixteen rounds, unless things start moving too slowly or they start moving pretty quickly. Two will be set aside for tag team rounds where you can pick two wrestlers with one pick.

Any two wrestlers?

No, they have to have tagged together at least once. These rounds will not be early in the draft, although their designation so far will be decided at a later date.

Will there be any parameters on time?

Yes, you will have 24 hours to get your pick in once you're up. If not, your pick will be skipped, and you can make it up at any time after.

What, no penalty?

No, no penalty other than the fact that you probably won't get the guy you want if you're late on a pick. There won't be any strike system like in the past, but if I see someone missing picks for several rounds, then I'll make the call on whether they'll be allowed to continue.

What happens if someone does drop out of the draft?

Then their picks will be skipped and their draft will be dispersed in a special supplemental draft after all rounds are over with new random picks.

What happens after the draft's over?

There will be a free agency period for you to fill out your rosters, trades will be allowed and then after that, there will be an optional booking competition, where you will be able to book from your first show to your first PPV.

Do you have to participate in the booking competition to "win" the draft?

No. The draft and the booking competition are separate entities. The draft "winner" will be decided after the free agency/trading period is over, and the booking competition winner will be decided at a date to be set after the dust settles from the draft.

Who decides the winners?

I do. I alone do, which is why I won't be participating in the draft as anyone but an administrator.

Can you make trades during the draft?

No. You may not make official trades during the draft because I'd like to keep everything in order. If you'd like to make trades in principle and draft guys for the express purpose of trading them, that's fine by me. Just make sure you keep track of that so you can trade once the proceedings begin.

Any other questions may be posed in reply here. Have at it :)

Richard Simmons in a turban firing machine guns into the sky, while in the midst of a Afghani war yodel...

PRIZE INFORMATION!

Now that the draft's begun, I can tell you that there will be prizes for winning the draft and the booking competition (instead of saying so beforehand and getting a bunch of idiots who sign up when the word "prize" is thrown around and then end up flaking out).

If you win the DRAFT portion, you get a one-time only "You Play Booker" card for the TEAM Challenge Championship. This "card" gives you the right to give out a banked shot for the TEAM Challenge Championship to the eW character of your choosing, provided that character is a) active and b) not handled by the recipient of the "card." In order to win the DRAFT portion, you must:

a) complete the draft
b) participate in free agency or ACTIVELY INDICATE that you are not signing any free agents
c) justify your draft

The last part may sound like a lot, but I'd only be expecting a few short sentences about what kind of fed you were drafting for, what kind of atmosphere your fed was going to have and why the folks you drafted fit into your plans.

Also, although I posted the Big Board (Draft Aid #4), you don't have to follow it religiously to do well in the draft. Pick whomever you want. I posted it just to help out people who may be stuck at some point. If you want to pick Joe Schlomo and he's not on the Big Board, don't think I'm going to penalize you for the pick. That's where the draft justification comes in. Everything's relative.

If you win the optional BOOKING portion, you get a one-time only "You Play Booker" card for the TEAM Championship of Champions. This "card" will allow you to select any World Champion (or equivalent, like the LoC Legacy Championship) to receive a CoC shot, provided that a) the fed the character represents is not closed and b) that the character is not handled by the recipient of the "card." In order to win the BOOKING portion, you must:

a) complete all eligibility requirements as laid out for the DRAFT Portion
b) book at least four but no more than five weeks for the fed you just drafted
c) name a top Champion for your fed (World or equivalent)

And of course, both the DRAFT and BOOKING winners will have an infinite amount of pride and bragging rights for beating 10 other people in a fantasy wrestling fantasy booking competition :)
