"Asshole." Seth said as he rubbed his head. "Yeah, yeah." Cody said with an even bigger smile. "She sounds good eh?" Seth looked at Cody and then at the old Corvette. "A couple of coats of paint and a brand new interior should do it." Seth looked at the car one more time then wiped the sweat from his brow. "Yeah, duct tape isn‘t that attractive." Cody chuckled. Seth cracked a smile and went back under the hood to check one last time. The corvette’s paint was chipped bad and pealing, but looked to be red at one time. A large dent in the side door would have to be popped out and the headlights replaced. The side mirrors were both broken and the rear view mirror was held on by only a little bit of glue. The front seat was tapped together with duct tape and the dash board was missing. The interior was gray and the seats used to be leather. The carpet was brown and matted together. Cody slid out the window and hopped out of the car. "Why do you want this thing anyway?" Seth asked as the two got onto the ground and slid under the car. "You got a brand new truck last year." "Carmen asked me if I still had this old thing." Cody smiled "I told her I didn‘t and she looked down because of it. She loved it. Really loved it. Even after the chips, dents and who knows what else." "How much did it sink you to get it down here?" Cody got a grim look on his face. "You don‘t want to know." Seth only smiled and shook his head. "So how‘s the engagement going?" "Good." Cody looked at him the best he could as he was loosening the oil bolt. "You tell Jalie yet?" "Nope." Seth cranked on a bolt with the wrench and it finally gave way and he slowly unscrewed it. "I figured you could dig your own grave." "Thanks" Cody said sarcastically. The oil bolt finally came out and oil poured from it. "Well, almost done. Just got to drain this and take her to get all the paint and interior shit done." "Your really going to give her this car?" Seth asked as her put the bolt back into the hole and tightened it up. "Yeah." "Your crazy man." "You wouldn‘t give it to Jalie?" "In a heart beat." Seth said with a smile. Later in the day Cody Carson was seen sitting in the waiting room of an auto body shop. He had a book in his hand and was reading it intensely. The book is from the forgotten realms saga and titled the Crystal Shard. He looked up from his book as a man dressed in white but covered in paint splatter walked out to see him. "Well, the car is set. The interior is done and the paint is perfect." The man had a husky voice and a red goatee that circled his mouth and clumped on his chin. He was younger, mid twenties, and seemed a little cocky. "And the…" Cody started but the man already knew what he was going to ask and he nodded. "So I can take it?" "Yep." "Good." Cody paused. "You got the time?" Cody asked, remembering his watch was in the corvette. "Seven fifty one." The man said as he looked at his watch. "Shit… I‘m two hours late." Cody walked with the man to the Corvette, and boy did it look like a different car. It was a waxy pink with different shades coming up the sides and blending together over the doors. They added a body kit to it and a spoiler on the back. The headlights where fixed and it had a pink glow under it. They rigged the top to make go back. The windows where tinted a dark blue and it had a brand new tan interior and sound system. A lap top computer was installed in the dashboard and a printer in the trunk. Also in the trunk a boy and girl holding rack for their things. The floor was pink shag carpet and the gear shifter was fuzzy as well. Pink dice hung from the rear view mirror and the tires had cross chrome spinners on it. Carson was shocked by the car and the man loved the reaction. "You like it?" "Not my best color man." Cody said with a smile. "But she will love it." Cody opened the door and grabbed the keys. He reached into his back pocket and tossed out a roll of bills to the guy. "Keep the change." Cody said as he shifted it into reverse. "And tell Tommy to phone me." "Will do." The man yelled to Cody as he counted the bills out. Cody lit the tires up and pink flames shot from the exhaust pipes. The car flew down the street into the slowly setting sun. At the Thomas’ home Carmen Dumas and her sister Jalie sat at the kitchen table eating pieces of Carmen’s birthday cake. A couple of Carmen and Cody’s friends sat in the living room talking. Seth Thomas walked down the stairs in nothing but a towel. His hair was slicked back from the water and a few drops where racing down his chest. He slowly made his way to the kitchen where he was met with a warm smile from his wife. "Hey hun." Jalie said as he approached. "Hey babe." Seth said grinning. He leaned down and kissed Jalie on the lips as Carmen stared off into space. Jalie stood up and Seth stole her seat before she had a chance to even move. Seth then pulled his wife down onto his lap and wrapped his arms around her kissing her neck. He looked at Carmen who kept looking at the clock, then the door then back to her food. She had her head at rest on her hand and a look like ‘who the fuck cares anymore’ on her face. She started to stab her cake, but never ate any of it. Jalie looked at her sister in dismay and shook her head. "Figures, its your birthday and your boyfriend doesn‘t show up." "Fiancée." Carmen said to low for Jalie to catch. Seth saw her mumble it and shook his head. Jalie looked at her sister again. "Look, I know Cody cares for you. But the fact is, I don't think he's the most mature guy around. I get that you love him, alright? And I'm not trying to hurt you but... Dude... I know Carson. Back in RWA he hit me in the head with a chair for no fucking reason. Granted he paid for it and I doubt he'd ever hit you. Partially because he knows I'd gut him like a fucking fish. Plus, he’s just an idiot. What if you two got married or something? Then the idiot would reproduce, or at least try to. And that is exactly the kind of thing I've spent my life trying to prevent. Stupid people should not be allowed to have children, let alone consort with women of our IQ.” Carmen rolled her eyes. "Jalie, everyone does stupid things. You remember graduation with the power lines and bungee cords?" "Hey, power was back on in a couple days. And Jay's hair also grew back. And I'm not the topic we're discussing here. We're talking about your fool of a man and why he has yet to even fucking show up to your BIRTHDAY PARTY!" Jalie growled. "Why do you always have to put him down? Cody is there for me. He loves me. We will and has done anything for me. Did you forget when Melory came back? Did you forget what he put himself through for me?" Carmen was starting to get red in the face. "He did what ever I asked when ever I asked. And I don‘t care what you say about him. I love him and nothing is going to change that. If doing whatever I asked him to do just to get back into my life isn’t love then I don‘t know what is." Jalie was about to say something when the rev of an engine grabbed their attention. Seth smiled and stood Jalie up. Carmen also stood as the revs continued. The three walked to the door and Seth opened it. Outside Cody Carson stood with his arms crossed, leaning against the pink corvette. Carmen’s eyes widened and filled with tears as she ran down the steps into Cody’s arms as Jalie stood shocked. Carmen jumped into her fiancée’s arms and kissed him. Cody put her back to the corvette and smiled. "Happy birthday, beautiful." he said and the two kissed again. "I was wondering what was taking you so long." Carmen said as she looked into his eyes. "Don‘t let your sister look into the back seat." Immediately Carmen looked into the back seat of the car but nothing was there. "Why?" Cody smiled and then opened the back door. He pulled the handle on the side of the seat and the bottom of it folded up. Underneath was Carmen’s wedding dress.
Match talk So many people in this world today think its easy to be a wrestler. People think wrestling is fake. Huh, I would love for them to step through the ropes and stand face to face with me. Nothing in wrestling is fake. The WWE isn’t wrestling, the WWE is a carbon copy. They fake shit all the time and it give the federations like AWA a bad name. But trust me when I tell you folks, if you see me, or any superstar from the back for that matter walking out of the arena or a match bleeding or with stitches in his or her face, you can bet it was real. Now, I’m facing a brawler. This guy is going to come out like a fucking barbarian, but all I got to do is survive the first 5 minutes of the match and I have him where I want him. He will try to end me quick and easy, but try as he may, I’m not one for quick and easy. Sloppy second aren’t my style.
Troy, you have one major flaw, you think to much. You think about the match you think that your going to win, you think, you think, you think… Well, I don’t think. I don’t know what I’m going to do one move to the next. It just happens. And I KNOW that’s I can hit the move. I don’t think anymore. If I see my chance at a move, I do it. If I see a little chance of hitting… hell I still do it for that chance. But unlike most of the people in the back, I walk into a match knowing what I want to do and doing what I want to do. I don’t think I’m going to do something… I just do it. That’s what makes me a veteran. That’s what makes me better then you and most of the people in the back. I learned the hard way what happens when you think to much about something. I lost my win streak and my National title for thinking to much about how this guy Jeff king was going to fucking eat me. I learned that in order to win, you have to through caution to the win and live with the consequences.
So many people in the fed think they know it all. Think that just because people are rookies in this fed doesn’t mean they haven’t went through hell to get where they are in their career. Its like a solider in the army. He gets shot and seventeen years later he joins again. They treat him like a rookie. But he has seen more blood then them all put together. I have been broken, bleeding, bruised and hospitalized more then any human should ever be. But its for the love of what I do. Pain don’t hurt anymore. I know that I can walk away from it, yet another thing from experience. Troy, tell me do you know what it feels like to have another man in a submission and then all of a sudden they go limp and a loud crack is heard? Have you ever been on the receiving end? I have been on both and let me tell you kid, to be the one pulling on their neck is worse then to receive it.
But it is my understanding that you like to brawl. Hell, I don’t mind that. I can fight with the best of them. I can win and I can lose, but you see you fucking idiot, where you just brawl, I can brawl, fly and then make your ass cry in pain when I have in in a submission. You just brawl. Brawling is good, if your facing another brawler. But when you facing a quick flyer your fucked. You know it and that’s why you have been silent. Your fate is in my hands, I could sit back and toy with you, make myself look better, but I don’t play with my prey. I would sooner hit the killing blow and let you flop around like a blinded bear until you hurt yourself. Troy, there is nothing wrong with you and you have a promising career here in the AWA, but face it kid, fighting a veteran on the field of battle is a chance to make or break your career… Are you ready for something like that? You have one win and you think that you are ready to face someone like me? A veteran? When you had a some what challenge with the Jobber? You got guts, I’ll give you that, and I won’t beat your ass to bad, unless you piss me off. But back to my original question, the time has Come to make or break your career, be ready boy, because The Sensation Cody Carson is on his way. You only got one day. So get on your knees and start to pray. Cause this Sunday when all is said and done… sorry to tell you but there can only be ONE!
