So many days have come and gone. Many times I couldn’t feel anything at all. They said I was ended. My career was over. They where wrong. So many people know me, cheer my name, yet when I break my neck, they slowly start to forget about me. In the beginning they came in to see me, wrote me letters, sent my drawing, get well soon cards. Then I was soon just a memory. Everyone thought I was done for. I hadn’t been able to move in almost a month. Then something happened. I surge of determination. I fire that I thought had been put out. The pain was extraordinary, but it was pain that I loved. Feeling the pain in my back, they pain running down my legs and into my toes, the pain in my hands, the pain that told me I was alive. I was there I could move again. Carmen stood by my side, she watched me walk when they said I couldn’t. I brought myself to stand but the pain was to much. I sat back down and fought to move. It was four months before I could even walk normally, another two before I could really start to move like the old me. In the nine months I was out, I thought about returning every day. Every time I looked at Carmen I stopped myself in my tracks. I couldn’t bare the site of her when I was crippled. When I couldn’t move ever again. She was pregnant with my child, and would be due any day now. I am still feeling the affects of breaking my neck, both physically and emotionally. I got the letter for the RWA that the man I fought and broke my neck, had reopened my home. I signed the contract and sent it back. I will return to the RWA, when is not for sure. I am coming back, but I don’t know if I will be with my fiancé. If she says I come back she leave, I will not return. My training is going to start in a few days. So be warned that Cody Carson will be back. Lest we forget about the man who’s got it, the man that has it in his blood, that man that will be number one.

Hi-Desert.Medical.Center
He looked at his watch, one twenty eight am. She had been in labor for almost three hours and he had started to worry about three hours ago. He had been pacing up and down the halls of the hospital. Jalie and Seth Thomas where there, to calm him down. Nothing worked. He was sweaty and his stomach twisted. Nine months had passed since he himself sat in this hospital, paralyzed from the neck down. Then a miracle happened. He rubbed his hands over his rough face, as he thought about Carmen. ‘please god, help my though this one too.’ he whispered to himself. ‘Please, I know I have asked a lot in these few months, but please, we both deserve this. Give me a sign that she’s ok. Watch over her please.’ He closed his eyes and bowed his head. A gentle hand on his shoulder made him jump. He turned and looked Jalie Thomas in her beautiful hazel eyes.
“Cody, calm down.” She said to him in a soft soothing voice. “She‘s gonna be okay.”
He nodded and walked toward where Seth Thomas was sitting reading the January edition of Cosmopolitan and looking rather amused. Jalie walked behind him and sighed deep, trying to make herself believe that her sister was going to be ok. They Had kicked Cody out of the room as soon as the contractions started. All the doctor had said was ‘I’m sorry sir but there are complications you have to leave the room.’ That was the last thing Cody had heard and his mind was a blur. “Please.” he whispered under his breath.
“Do you think Jalie and I could get into this position?” Seth asked, as he pushed the book in front of Cody. “I looked kinky but these stick men just don‘t do it for me.”
“Sure.” Cody said with a dry, crack of his throat. “She‘s flexible enough.”
“Let me see that.” Jalie requested, she grabbed the book out of Seth’s hand and looked at it with a confused look. “That looks like it would hurt.”
“That’s why it‘s called the piledriver.” Seth sad sarcastically. Suddenly the book smacked him in the face. Cody dropped his head and his elbows on his knees. He breathed deep, his body shook. Jalie looked at Seth who looked helpless. ‘Talk to him.’ She mouthed to Seth. ‘How?’ He mouthed back. ‘Just do it.’
“Come on bro, we gotta talk.” Seth finally said as he pushed himself up and tapped Cody.
“I don‘t want too.” Cody replied with is face still pointed at the ground.
“Come on.” Seth pressured. “You need some fresh air.”
“No!” Cody replied as he glared a hole into Seth.
“Cody, you need to relax a little.” said Jalie, concerned. “Look hun, she‘s gonna be fine. Hell, she‘s the sister of the toughest bitch you know, Right?”
“I guess.” He replied in a soft voice. “I‘m just…” As if all his prayers had been answered the doctor walked into the large darkened waiting room. Cody jumped to his feet and was to the doctor before the man had taken two steps. “How is she? Is she okay?”
“Mr. Carson, relax please,” The doctor said, intimidated by how close Cody was. “You wife is fine, and you are a father of a baby girl.”
“A Girl?” Cody said “I‘m a dad.”
“Yes you are.” The doctor chuckled at the shock on Cody’s face. Cody all of a sudden wrapped his arms around the doctor and then rushed past him. The nurse on the other side of the door was waiting for him.
“Right this way Mr. Carson.” She guided him down the hall to where his fiancé was laying in her bed. Her long brunette hair was wet from sweat and her face was flush. She still looked beautiful. He moved to her side and smiled. She returned the smile weakly. Cody kissed her hot cheek and looked passionately into her eyes.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” She replied very weakly. “What was it?”
“It’s a girl.” Cody said with a lump in his throat. The nurse had left and now had returned with a little pink bundle. Cody stood and the nurse handed the pink blanket to Carmen. Carmen pulled back the blankets and peaked inside at her little bundle of joy. “She‘s beautiful.”
“Alexandria.” Carmen stated.
Cody looked around and then at the window where Seth had his hands on Jalies shoulders. Both where smiling and it stuck him. “Jalie.” Cody said as he nodded.
“Carson.” Both said together.
“What was that again?” The nurse asked as she wrote on a clipboard.
“Alexandria Jalie Carson” Cody repeated.
“Thank you.” She replied and left the two.
Cody turned to his child and looked into her large emerald green eyes. “Hey little Alexandria. Hi.” He said waving like all new fathers do.
“She has her daddies eyes.” Carmen said looking at Cody.
“Lets just hope she has Her mothers good looks.” said Cody with a smirk. “Should I let the cavalry in or do I bring her out to them?”
“Take her out to them.” Carmen said very weak. “I need to rest.”
“Okay baby.” Cody replied as he took his little girl. “Get some sleep, I‘ll take care of her.”
“Cody.” Carmen said as he walked for the door.
“Yeah hun.” He looked at her with so much relief on his face and the brightness of a new man.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” He said as he smiled and walk out. He held the baby in his arms and couldn’t pry his eyes from her. Her eyes where locked on him and the two shared there moment. Seth and Jalie walked toward him to look at her. Jalie stood back a little but Cody moved right past Seth, to Jalie. “Jalie, I would like you to meet your niece.”
“You didn‘t name her something dumb did you?” Jalie said coldly.
“No.” Cody replied looking into the warm eyes of his daughter. “We named her after you.”
“What?” Jalie said shocked.
“Alexandria Jalie Carson, I would like you to meet your Aunt Jalie.” Cody said as he handed her to Jalie.
Jalie and Seth both looked down on her and both of their faces brightened. “Hi sweetie.” Jalie said in a very soft and loving voice. “I‘m your aunt Jalie and this is uncle Seth.”
“She has your eyes.” Seth observed. “Who would have thought an ugly baboon like you could make something so beautiful.” Seth smiled at Cody who chuckled.
“Well, she has her mothers good looks and her aunts lips.” Jalie said with a smile. She handed her back to Cody and a tear was in Jalie’s eye. Seth to, had a lump in his throat.
“Thanks for staying with me guys.” They both nodded and didn’t say a word. The nurse Came around the corner and smiled at Cody.
“We have to take her back to incubation. She needs rest. A few hours and her mommy is gonna learn now to breast feed.”
“Oh, ok.” Cody said, he gave his daughter a kiss and handed her to the nurse. HE looked back to Seth and Jalie and smiled. HE walked over and wrapped his arms around Jalie and Seth and tears feel from his face. “I… have …. A daughter.” Cody couldn’t help but let the tears go. Two miracles in less then a year. God must love him.
