Sara Calaway had done it. She had entered the ring at Heatwave with three different women aiming to take her title. She had entered the ring when all eyes were on the prize and anyone could have taken it. Dawn Marie, Sable, Trish Stratus all had the opportunity; it was all within a finger tip’s away. But Sara had snatched up the opportunity, she had fought to keep her title and maintain her dominance, and she had succeeded. Sara Calaway, despite what anyone had predicted or thought had overcome the odds and had walked out of Heatwave as still the current Diva’s Champion.
But things have changed rather quickly. Fighting your enemies requires desire, patience and determination…but what happens when you have to fight your friends? How will Sara react to the fact that she has to go one on one with one of the very few women, or people, in the business that she trusts? At Meltdown Sara and Kelly Kelly will not enter the ring has a force but instead as individuals…and against one another.
The scene opens to a loud and obnoxious lounge. The large television screens on the walls play the latest aired football games and the people in the dark room hoot and holler accordingly. We zoom into a particular corner to see our familiar group of regulars, one particular woman beaming in particular.
Sara is sitting on her husband, The Undertaker’s, lap with her arm wrapped around his head. She sits facing her best friend Tracy, who is holding hands with her boyfriend Santino Marella. It seems that Santino and Tracy have solved their issues that they had been having over the past few weeks.
Sara looks to be particularly happy, and as we weave in through the crowd a bit closer we see that her Diva’s Championship is on the table in front of her.
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: Imma tellin’ you Sara, those women, never hada chance.
Sara smiles and crosses her legs.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: I’d like to agree with you Santino and say that they didn’t…but I would be lying.
Santino frowns a little bit and nods his head forward, as if asking for her to continue in a sort of explanation.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: All three of those women were in the match for a reason Santino…any one of them could be holding this title right now. They wall wanted it, they all had one of the biggest opportunities of their careers.
Sara raises it up a bit and lets the belt fall to her lap.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: But they didn’t!!! I’m holding this championship, my name is on the nameplate, and it will still be around my waist when I walk to the ring!
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: Where it belongs baby.
Sara smiles and kisses her husband strongly before looking up and seeing another woman making her way to the table, also glowing and seemingly happy.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: Sara! Congrats!
Sara puts the title on the table and gets up to greet Kelly with a hug.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: Thanks girl, I’m glad you could make it out to celebrate with us.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: Well I didn’t have the match at the pay per view so I’m glad to get out and see you guys.
Sara gets seated again on Taker and Kelly pulls up a chair.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: You know I’ve never really held the title…can I hold it?
Sara smirks and hands over the title belt to Kelly who at first smiles and just holds it in her hands for a few seconds before putting it on her shoulder.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: Well!? How’s it look?
The group is silent for again and Sara smirks.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: It looks good Kell….really good. And you know what?
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: Hm?
Sara[The Center of This Story]: I’m excited to see it happen….one day. But you know you still have a lot more to learn.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: Well I think yanno Sara, I’ve learned a lot.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: No doubt hun, but let’s face it we brought you from the bottom up.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: I’m looking forward to having it as soon as possible Sara…I mean heck I might be challenging you in a few months!
Santino laughs in an exaggerated fashion.
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: UM….Misaaa Kelly Kelly…..Kelly…this is Sara we are atalking about here.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: I’m quite aware…she’s taught me a lot Santino, I know who she is, what she’s capable of and that she’s a great role model for me.
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: Buta, you thinka you could beat her?
Santino continues to laugh as Kelly pouts and scrunches a fist.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: Santino cut it out.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: You don’t think I can either…do you Sara?
Sara smiles and meet eyes with Kelly.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: Kell…I have brought you a long way and you have worked damn hard to get where you want to be. I don’t doubt that you could beat me, but you have to remember the level I’m at, the fact that I’m The WIW Diva’s Champion and a former WIW Woman’s Champion and the fact that previously this evening I took on three other divas who were all equally as thirsty as me for this title. You have to remember that I was trained by the best in the business, that I think like the best in the business and I am the best in the business. You have to remember that I train harder than half the locker room and that I’ve taught you everything I know and that I still haven’t taught you things.
But Kell….I’m more than ready for a challenge. Hell, challenges keep me going; challenges are what make me tick. I’m not sure if it’ll be for the title, but I have a feeling we’ll be meeting up in a one on one match pretty soon.
Kelly looks irritated but doesn’t seem to know what to say.
Kelly Kelly[So Nice, Just Say It Twice]: I think coming out tonight was a mistake…I’m leaving.
She stands up, the title still in hand. She stares at it for a moment and places it down on the table before turning to leave. Sara doesn’t get up to follow her.
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: I don’t give it much time before you two are in a match. Why aren’t you running after her?
Sara[The Center of This Story]: She’s upset, I don’t want to talk to her when she’s like this. She’s got it in her head right now that she wants the opportunities and that she’s where she needs to be. She couldn’t be more wrong, she’s not ready yet and if anyone is going to show her that, I damn hope it’s me…I don’t want her crushed because if she’s crushed right now when she’s so confident, it could lead to bad things.
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: I’m not sure when you turned into the one who has all the answers.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: I guess I’ve learned a lot when you weren’t paying attention and dealing with your Fusion shit.
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: Shit?
The scene slowly fades as we zoom out and leave the bar and lounge, still just as loud as it was when we entered.
S C E N E T W O – Football Season Has Started
Our scene opens to the M & T Bank Stadium, otherwise known as Raven’s Stadium in Baltimore Maryland. The fans are milling outside, enjoying their tailgating parties and waiting anxiously for the opening game of the season to start.
We zoom in to the crowd of people to see two members of our familiar group again, looking a bit out of place. The Undertaker and Sara walk among the people.
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: I’m not a fan of The Ravens…I’m not a fan of the Chiefs. Explain to me why I’m here.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: This is Tracy’s hometown and she thought it’d be a continuation of the celebration that I kept my title.
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: Guess I can’t complain, football season is finally here.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: You’re telling me, this should be interesting, I’m sure Santino will be asking plenty of questions.
Taker rolls his eyes as they proceed into the building, having passes that Tracy had given them ahead of time. They make it to the sky box that Tracy’s family company owns and they walk inside. Santino is inside, sitting on a laptop, laughing hysterically and then stuffing his face with the catered carbcakes sitting on the table beside him. Tracy is outside of the box in the seats.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: Santino what are you doing?
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: Oh haiii Sara! Mr. Deadguyz, I was just typing a little email.
He laughs again before shutting the laptop and taking another bite out of a crabcake.
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: These things you call cakes with the crab….SO…good.
Sara rolls her eyes and goes out on the porch step with Tracy.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: This is really nice Trace!
Tracy [The Bestie]: Isn’t it? I’m so glad you could come this time. Most people around here would kill for these seats.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: Definitely.
Tracy [The Bestie]: So, what are you thinking about with the whole Kelly thing?
Sara sighs.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: I’m trying not to think about it much really. I mean, that’s how my friendship between me and Trish ended you remember…
Tracy nods.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: Over the title…getting into the ring and going one on one can do a lot to a friendship. Especially when one wins and one loses. The loser usually doesn’t like it too much.
Tracy [The Bestie]: Little cocky huh?
Sara smirks and pushes back her hair slightly as a slight wind blows.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: No not cocky because she might surprise me yanno? Hell, I know she’s good because I’ve rubbed off on her. Like I said, she’s definitely a future Diva’s Champion…she’ll get that title around her waist but I mean...I’m not going easy. I want to take her to school…show her what it takes; show her what it means to be a true Diva’s Champion. Say Kelly won the title; she wouldn’t be ready for the rest of it; knowing that they’re all coming for you, knowing that you’re the one with the target. Falling is sometimes the best lesson and best thing for you.
Tracy [The Bestie]: You’re going to make her fall?
Sara[The Center of This Story]: Damn straight, but of course, for her best interest.
Tracy and Sara chuckle slightly as the sliding door opens again and Taker and Santino come out.
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: Oh look at the big field this is wherez we going to be play the football!?
Taker rolls his eyes and takes another sip of his beer he had the liberty of getting from inside.
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: Imma telling you, I’m so full I had at least ten of those crabbycakes. SO GOOD. So how do we play this games of football?
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: Are you really serious right now? Are you really?
Santino Marella[Unlikely Italian Ally]: Why yes I want to learn all I can about this football so we can has a greata time celebrating Sara’s wins at Heatwave and against Kelly Kelly…Kelly.
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: Imma fuckin’ break your nose if you keep going on all day.
Sara smiles and shakes her head as the stadium continues to fill.
Sara[The Center of This Story]: I don’t think a win is going to be as easy as you think Santino. We taught her well and Meltdown will be a test for Kelly, a test that I’m ready to give and I think she’s ready to receive. It’ll be a bit of an evaluation to see how far she’s come and how far she still needs to go. But I wish her luck, I do, I’m proud of her for being so strong about this and so up for the challenge. I just hope, I really…really…hope, that our friendship won’t be lost.
The Undertaker[A Badass American]: What happens…happens. Now, let’s not worry about it and get ready for the game.
The scene slowly fades out to the consistent sound of Santino’s chatter going on and on over different questions and concerns before the game begins.
