Huntington, West Virginia
Marriot Hotel

Here I am once again, in a different city, but here for the same thing, and in the same hotel. This time, I’m not in the bar lounge. I’m in the lobby, just relaxing, getting ready to go out for a nice afternoon walk. I do that in every city I go to. I did when I was in Japan, and I just so happened to bump into Marty Friedman. It was great meeting him, and I hope that I can meet other great people as I begin to walk around the city. If it was ten years ago, I would be walking around looking for trouble, apparently I’m not this time around. I just want mingle with the people of the city, maybe flirt with a few chicks, since I’m in the south, and southern chicks love Yankees. Then maybe later I’ll sit back and have a drink or two, then relax, wake up tomorrow morning and go to the arena, and get ready to kick Sam Hain’s ass.

The scene opens to a very quiet, yet very elegant hotel lobby. There aren’t that many people in the lobby, but there are a few people who are there walking in and out, heading to the elevators and most likely heading outside side to travel around the city. Maximus is the only in the lobby who is actually sitting down, and relaxing. Sitting back in a small comfy chair, with his legs up on the coffee table, and has his head and his entire body leaned back. Even with the very little noise that’s going on the back of him, he’s still not letting it disturb him. People are walking by him, watching him, as they walk by going about their own business. Maximus just continues to sit back and relax.

???: Excuse me sir, but may I please ask as to why you are sitting in the lobby.

Maximus get’s out of his relaxation mode, and looks up at the person who just addressed him. Then when he looks he see’s that the hotel manager is standing over him, looking down at him. Maximus looks at the manager for a while, then Maximus turns back around and begins to relax again.

Maximus: What the fuck is it to you? Can’t you see that I’m relaxing?

The manager get’s taken aback by Maximus’s response.

Manager: Well, sir, I was just wondering why you are sitting here when you could be up in your room, or in the bar lounge? The lobby isn’t a place for our visitors to relax.

Maximus: Listen jerk-off. I paid to stay in this fucking hotel, I can go and relax wherever I want. Now please, fuck off.

Manager: Well, Mr...?

Maximus: None of your fucking business.

Manager: Please stop being rude sir, I’m only asking for your name.

Maximus: Okay, then since you put it that way. My name is the guy who paid to stay in this hotel, who will most likely end up kicking your face in because you continue bother me while I’m relaxing.

Manager: That’s a pretty long name.

Maximus: Indeed it is.

Manager: And I don’t respond to threats, sir.

Maximus: That’s not a threat, that’s a promise.

Manager: Well then, I guess I’m going to have to call the authorities then. Now good day, sir.

Maximus suddenly get’s up to his feet quickly, and manages to get in the face of the hotel Manager. He keeps his distance so he doesn’t make the Manager feel even more threatened than what he is right now. Now that Maximus is finally up, he’s looking down at the Manager, and notices how short he is. He’s very short, and looks very young.

Manager: Oh no, don’t get up now. You threatened me, and that alone will get you arrested.

Maximus: Wait a minute, there’s no need for you to go and call the police. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, I’m reserved here under the name Terry Mortale. I’m in room 915, and I’ll be checking out of here Tuesday morning. That’s what you needed to know right?

Manager: Yes, somewhat. But it still doesn’t change the fact that you threatened to hurt me.

Maximus: Yea, yea, whatever. Forget that, I apologize. I’ll leave now, and let’s forget that incident never happened.

Manager: If you say so.

The Manager begins to walk off. Maximus just stands there watching him in disgust. Maximus begins to whisper to himself.

Maximus: Great, just fucking great. That asshole is lucky that I just got out of prison. I don’t want to have to end up dealing with any law enforcement again.

Maximus then begins to walk out of the lobby, and outside of the hotel. It’s a hot day, and there are very few people walking in outside of the hotel, as well as the inside. Maximus begins walking away from the resort, and begins to walk towards a busy street. As he begins walking, he hears a very familiar voice call out his name.

???: Well, well, look at who we have here. What a coincidence, two XWF superstars staying at the same hotel.

Maximus turns around and sees that it’s none other than XWF superstar James Raven. To his surprise, James looks pleased to actually see him. Which then puts Maximus at ease, as he thought there would be some hostility between the two.

Maximus: Yea....what coincidence.....it is. What the hell are you doing here?

James: I was about to ask you the same thing. I just decided to come into town early. You?

Maximus: I always come into town a day early. I like to get a feel of the city that I’m going to be performing in. It kind of let’s me know what kind of crowd I’m going to be performing in front of.

James: Hm...good point. So....

Maximus: So....

Both men just stand there and stare at each other for a while. Then Maximus suddenly breaks their awkward silence.

Maximus: Okay, this is kind of awkward.

James: Kind of? Dude we just faced each other last week. This is very awkward.

Maximus: Basically we both weren’t expecting to see each other huh?

James: No not at all. I don’t usually meet up with other wrestlers at hotels.

Maximus: I make sure that I never meet other wrestlers at hotels.

James: That’s good to know...

Maximus: Yes, very....

Maximus and James go into another awkward silence moment, and then they both begin to laugh.

Maximus: You wanna go and grab a drink or something?

James: Sure, why not.

Maximus and James begin to walk back into the hotel, and they begin to walk through the lobby. Maximus looks over to his left and see that the hotel Manager is still in the lobby. This time he’s harassing a bunch of teenage girls. The Manager looks over and sees Maximus walking with James, and then the Manager waves to him. Maximus flips him off in return. James Raven begins laughing.

James: I see that you two know each other.

Maximus: Apparently so. Fucking asshole.

James continues to laugh, and continues walking with Maximus. They both make their way to the bar lounge in the hotel. They begin to make their way over to the bar, and they sit down right next to each other. The bartender walks over and approaches them.

Bartender: What can I get for you boys?

Maximus: I’ll have a Heineken.

Bartender than looks over at James Raven.

Bartender: And you?

James: Eh...I’ll have the same.

Bartender: Alright, you got it boys.

The Bartender walks off to get their drinks. Maximus then turns over and looks at James.

Maximus: So um, why are you here alone. Don’t you have like two girlfriends that work with for the company too.

James: Two? No, I have one girlfriend.

Maximus: Wait, you aren’t banging that Roxy chick too?

James: No, she’s my friend. Plus, she’s a lesbian.

Maximus: Damn dude that sucks.

James: I told you, she’s my friend. Besides, I love Mia too much to cheat on her. So how does that suck for me?

Maximus: No, I’m not talking about you, it sucks for all of the other dudes in who would want to sleep with her. Such a waste of pussy man.

James: Watch it, that’s my friend you’re talking about.

Maximus: Yea, I got that part.

The Bartender then comes back over and hands both, James and Maximus, their drinks. Maximus starts chugging away at his beer, making him finish half a bottle already. James just starts sipping his beer slowly.

Maximus: It’s pretty good that we met up with each other.

James: Why is that?

Maximus: There are some things that I would like to talk to you about.

James: Like what?

Maximus: Well, first of all, I would like to know what in the hell was up with our match last week? I was expecting more from that match, and it ended quickly. It was something that I totally wasn’t expecting.

James: Well, I don’t want to sit here and makes excuses, but I haven’t been too healthy lately. So when our match came, I wasn’t totally fit to face you. I knew if I was then our match would’ve been more competitive. But that didn’t happen, and I’m sorry about that. I know you were expecting more, but my body wasn’t able to dish it out.

Maximus: That’s understandable. It happens to the best of us. With what you just said, now I really want a rematch.

James: As do I Max, as do I. I’m pretty sure we will. Hopefully sooner than later.

Maximus: Whenever it happens, you better prepare yourself .

James: Trust me, I will.

Maximus: That’s good to know. Now I also want to commend you on a job well done on leading that crusade last Thursday against the Black Order.

James: I couldn’t have done it without the help of Shawn Warstein. Then the rest of the XWF superstars who came out and took out the rest of the Order members too.

Maximus: Eh...well, at least you’re really taking a stand to the Black Order. Those guys really think that they can just go around, and do whatever they want. Thinking that strength in numbers is really beneficial. Those guys are worthless cunts, plain and simple as that.

James: Wow, sounds like you have a lot of hostility towards them.

Maximus: Not really hostility, just more like resentment. There organization is pointless.

James: Well at least the Prophecy isn’t pointless. We actually have an agenda.

Maximus: That I see, and I can’t say anything negative about you guys. You pretty much have you’re head on your shoulders, and you guys know what you’re after.

James: You pretty much have are the same way also. You know what you want, and you know what you’re after. You having as much hype as you do in the company, and great performer, will make you a great ally. What if I was to ask you right now to join the Prophecy.

Maximus: Are you asking now?

James: Somewhat. I would like to have join up with us, but if you don’t then that’s fine with me.

Maximus: Well James, as good as you guys are, I just have to say no to this.

James: What afraid of the Black Order?

Maximus: No, not all. I can handle the Black Order by myself. But being in a stable, just isn’t something I would like to do. I would rather just focus on myself right now. Being wit the Vigilantes was good enough for me. Unfortunately, I don’t really want to work with anyone, putting a group effort to make an impression people. No offense to you, because you’re a great talent.

James: None taken. So I’m taking this as a....?

Maximus: No, I don’t want to join the Prophecy. And I never had any plans on joining the Prophecy.

James: Are you telling me this, and then you’re going to turn around and join the Black Order?

Maximus: James, I think I said this quite often....fuck the Black Order. I wouldn’t join them if my life depended on it.

James: Those are some pretty strong words.

Maximus: And I mean them. I don’t really see anyone, except for you, who I wouldn’t mind having as a partner. You and I both have bigger and better things on our minds right now, to just be stuck trying to get a stable in order.

James: You’re right about that. I have the biggest match of my career coming up in just a week, and you ‘re getting a match that you have been beckoning for, for a long time.

Maximus: We might as well just keep the mutual respect that we have for each other the way it is. If you need back up, I’ll be more than happy to help. I hope you can return the favor as well.

James: I can’t give you a definite answer on that right now. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds. Our rematch, remember?

Maximus: What about it? Just because we’re going to be facing each other doesn’t mean that we can’t maintain our mutual respect. I know our match is going to come, and when it does we’ll face off against each other just like we would face any other person. Until that happens, we’ll just be there for each, if needed. Understood?

James: I guess so.

Maximus: ‘I guess so’ is good enough for me.

Maximus then picks up his beer and chugs down the rest of it, finishing the entire bottle. Raven continues to sip his. Then all of a sudden James phone starts ringing. James begins talking on his own, but Maximus isn’t paying attention as to what he’s saying or who he’s even talking to. Maximus is busy watching the TV in the bar at the moment.

James: Hey Max.

Maximus: Yea what’s up?

James: Listen that was Mia, she got on an early flight and just came to the airport. So I’m going to go pick her up from the airport.

Maximus: Okay, cool. I guess we’ll be seeing each other around.

James: I’m pretty sure that we will.

James then extends his hand towards Maximus. Maximus responds and shakes James Ravens hand. The both begin grinning at each other. James then get’s up and walks out of the bar. The bartender then walks over to Maximus, and Max orders another drink. James is finally out of the bar, and most likely out of the hotel. Maximus continues to sit at the bar and begins to order more drinks. Now Maximus is finally relaxing the way how he wants to, staying there for the rest of the day.
