In 1989 the masked sensation made his professional debut when he began wrestling for the AAA promotion in Mexico. Now nineteen years later being currently signed with IWE, he has also wrestled for several other companies, some of which include WWE , WCW and ECW. In the past nineteen years he's held a total of eight Cruiserweight Championships and four Tag Team Championships. And at only 175 pounds, he was also the smallest World Heavyweight Champion to ever hold the gold around his waist. This week he looks to take another step further in becoming a household name in the industry when he competes in and World Championship Tournament for the vacant IWE World Heavyweight Championship, His first opponent, His partner last week, once good friend and former tag team partner in IWE, Matt Hardy. Does Mysterio have what it takes to beat Matt Hardy and go on to win the tournament and add the World Championship to his already impressive list of IWE accomplishments. Only time can tell But one thing’s for sure Mat better be ready because Rey will give it his all just like he does night in and night out.

Scene Title: What’s Up ?
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Where: The Joe Louis Arena
When: Friday 8th Feb 2008
The scene is set at ringside inside the Joe Louis Arena. Rey Mysterio’s music “Booyaka” by P.O.D. is playing over the PA System after picking up the win in his first match back in IWE. In the ring are the winning team of Matt Hardy and Mysterio. Having their hands raised by the referee. The fans are still pump after the fast paced action the saw in the ring so a re still giving the two men a hell of a ovation. Stepping towards Hardy, Rey looks up at him and extends his hand to shake Matt’s. Matt however turns his back to Rey and stepping through the ring ropes he takes his leave from the ring and begins to head back up the ramp way and into the back but not before looking back at the ring with a confused looking Rey Mysterio in it. With Matt now backstage and out of sight Rey shrugs off what just happen and gets back to celebrating his victory. Climbing all four of the turnbuckles, then getting out of the ring he begins high-fiving his way round the front row and he walks around the ring. Finally stopping at his family, he gives his kids a hug and a kiss on the head and then kisses his wife and another group hug for the Mysterio family before he heads back up the ramp and into the backstage area.
The scene opens up in the backstage area of the building, Smackdown has been off the air for just over twenty minutes and some of the superstars have already left the building. Rey Mysterio now dressed in his street clothing appears to be the next superstars leaving the arena. Holding his sleeping daughter in his arms, his gym back hanging over his right shoulder and his son and wife by his side. The husband and wife are talking amongst themselves when IWE broadcast team Todd Grisham walks up to the just as they get to the exit door of the arena the leads out to the parking lot.
:: Todd Grisham :: Rey…before you leave can I get an moment of your time ?
:: The MexiKing :: Sure thing Todd but can we make it quick we’ve got to get this little one’s head down for the night.
:: Todd Grisham :: Thank you, this won‘t take long. First off welcome back to IWE and congratulations on your first of what I’m sure is going to be plenty of victories now that you are back. How does it feel one match in and one win to go with it ?
:: The MexiKing :: As I’m sure you can imagine Todd I feel pretty good right now. I pick up the win for my team tonight in front thousands of screaming excited IWE fans and with my familia in the front row watching and cheering me on.
:: Todd Grisham :: Speaking of teams what‘s your thoughts on MVP no-showing in the match and leaving Gregory Helms to go it alone out there ?
:: MexiKing :: I wish I could say I was surprised but you come to expect something like that from a guy the Porter who thinks he’s more important than the rest of the guys in the back. I got one word for a guy like MVP….PUNK. Plain and simple he’s a punk ofr what he did, or in this case what he didn‘t do.
:: Todd Grisham :: And finally, Matt Hardy. Is it just me or was there some animosity between the two of you after the match ?
:: MexiKing ::All I know is that I wanted to shake my friends hand after having a great match out there as far as animosity…on my part absolutely not as far as Matt I don’t know you’d have to ask him. I think, no I hope that it’s just a case of Matt having his own things going on inside his head at the moment and not some sort of animosity towards me.
With that said Todd shakes Rey’s hand and heads off down the hallway leaving Rey and his family to exit the arena for the night. With Dominik safely buckled up in the back seat of the rental car Rey gently puts his daughter in next to his son and puts buckles her up nice and safe. Quietly closing the door ge puts his gym bacg in the boot of the rental car before getting into the driver’s seat, leaning over to his wife the share in a kiss, then looking back at his kids one sleeping and the other not far from falling a sleep Rey starts the engine and drives off into the night and back to the hotel for the night.

Scene Title: Partner’s One Week Opponents The Next
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Where: Hara Arena
When: Friday 15th Feb 2008
It’s late Friday afternoon in Dayton Ohio the place is the Hara Arena. Where tonight IWE Smackdown will be going out live across the nation, the scene is inside the main hall area of the arena where the fans enter the building . With there’s begin still a good four hours until show time there isn’t much really going some fans have already started gathering in order to beat the mass of the crowds still to come. A buzz begins amongst the fans there as from the main entrance of the arena in walks Smackdown Superstar and fan favourite Rey Mysterio comes walking into the building. The fans begin flocking towards him and being the good guy that he’s known for being he simple smiles and welcomes them with hand shake after hand shake and taking time to talk to and take pictures with them.
:: Young Fan :: So Rey who’s butt you gonna be kickin; tonight ?
:: MexiKing :: [Laughing] You know little man I don’t have a single idea to who I’m facing tonight. But if it’s anything like last week there ain’t no reason to sweat it right.
:: Young Fan :: Right, I just know your gonna beat whoever it is just like you did last week when you hit the west coast pop on Gregory Helms.
Shaking hands the boy and his family he moves on to the next family who want to take pictures with him. After talking to all the fans for a little while he says his good byes and head off town the hall trailing his roller case behind him. On his way to finding his dressing room bumps into Smackdown general manager Stone Cold Steve Austin.
:: Stone Cold :: There he is, great showing last week Mysterio. Couldn‘t have gone no better. Impressed me to no end, impresses me so much that I’ve got you booked in a special match tonight. I know you know about the World Championship tournament, well boy you’ve done gone and got yourself entered into it. Starting tonight when by special request by the boy himself you go one on one with your tag partner from last week, Matt Hardy, Good luck kid.
Before beign able to even utter a word of appreciation to Stone Cold Austin takes a sip form the beer can he’s holding and heads off down the hallway leaving Rey standing alone with a look of confusion as to why Matt Hardy requested the match between them tonight.

Scene Title: Friend Or Foe No Matter
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Where: Hara Arena
When: Friday 15th Feb 2008
The scene opens up inside the Hara Arena at the ringside area of the building where the IWE fans are waiting patiently for more of exciting Smackdown action. And their not kept waiting long before the sound of P.O.D.’s “Booyaka” hits over the pa system and moments later with a burst of pyros Rey gets lifted into the air appearing on the staging at the top of the ramp way. On his way down the ramp way heading towards the ring Mysterio high-fives some of the fans and goes nose to nose with some of the younger kids in the crowd who are wearing replica masks of his. When finally in the ring Rey climbs two of the four turnbuckles, climbing down from the last turnbuckle Mysterio collects the microphone from Smackdown ring announcer Justin Roberts and waits for his music to cut out before talking.
:: MexiKing :: What’s up OHIO…Now last week I’m sure most all of you know was the return of Friday Night Smackdown for IWE but not only that, it was also my return to International Wrestling Entertainment and what a night it was for me. To have my familia sat right there in the front row, my wife Angelica, my baby girl Aaliyah, and last but no means least my boy Domink cheering me on and encouraging me to do what I do best and that’s give it my all inside this ring. And I’ll be the first to admit the fact that I was cagado del miedo, and I say that in Spanish for all the little ears out there in the audience tonight. The fear of getting back in the ring after more than a year of absence, not the fear of losing because in this business your going to lose sooner or later and I‘ve experienced my fair share of losses, not the fear of seeing the look of disappointment on my kinds faces if I didn’t win, because I know either way win or lose those kids love and support their papa like no one else on this planet does. No the fear I had the fear that was gnawing away at me was the fear that I wouldn’t be as good as I was before I got taken out a little over a year ago with the injury to both my knees.
:: MexiKing :: Also the fear that I might not be able to deliver the fast paced, high-flying action that I’ve been known for throughout my nineteen year carer in the wrestling industry ever since I first dawned a lucha libre mascara at the age of fourteen and was known as “Colibri” which means Hummingbird. The type of action that caught the eye of the world and made me the superstar I am today. But there was one thing I was forgetting the whole time I was doubting myself. Despite the fact that everyone always said wrestling is a big man’s sport but for me it has never been about size, it’s always been about passion, and it always been about determination and having the will to make it to the top. And I’ve always been full of all three of those, there’s no one with more passion for this industry than I, No one more determined when inside this ring to show that I am a main event star and not just some whipping by for the bigger guys to throw around inside a squared circle. My size has never been a factor after all it’s the size of the fight in the dog not the size of the dog in the fright. I may be a Chihuahua in a Great Dane’s world but this Chihuahua’s got a fierce bite, which sooner or later everyone finds out.
:: MexiKing :: But I needn’t have worried because after about five minuets inside the ring last week I soon found out that it never leaves your, fear or no fear you’ve just got to go with that your gut tells you to do even if later on thinking it over it might not been the best decision at the time your just got to go with it and go with I did and like I said it never leaves you and it never did. I was back and I was my old self a mix of speed and the love of flying without wings and with a six one nine and a west cost pop later I gained the victory in my return match getting the win for Hardy and myself. After that I knew it was only a matter of time before I once again started heading towards bigger and better things here in IWE. And it would appear that bigger and better things are on the horizon sooner rather than later which brings me to tonight. Tonight when in my second match since my return I go one on one with the man who was my partner last week, Matt Hardy.
:: MexiKing :: Just earlier tonight I learnt that this match between Matt and myself is no consequence. It was Matt Hardy himself who requested it from Smackdown general manager Stone Cold Steve Austin. But not only is tonight simply just a one on one match it’s also a chance to qualify in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament for the currently vacant World Championship. Being crowned World Heavyweight Champion is an honour I know very well and an honour I want to have bestowed upon me one more time more than anything in this world. There’s nothing greater than wearing the gold around your waist and being known as the very best in the business or in this case on our Smackdown brand. Matt Hardy on the other hand has never felt the feeling of begin recognised the world over as the best of the best. That fact and that fact alone doesn’t mean I’m underestimating him in the least, the very opposite in fact I know that not having had that honour before it makes him all the more hungry to obtain it for his very first time.
:: MexiKing ::But don‘t for once second think that just because I’ve held it once that I’m just as hungry as you Matt, to steal a quote from Frank Lopez in Scarface, “Lesson number one: Don't underestimate the other guy's greed!” Yes I’ve held the prestigious World Championship underestimate my greed to once again have the opportunity to be known as the best there is. If there‘s once thing that comes from holding it most sought after championship in all of wrestling it’s the greed to once again have it strapped around your waist. Deep down inside of me that greed began to rise up more and more since I’ve learnt that tonight is my chance to get one step closer to it again. If this were Lord Of The Rings, I’d be Gollum and I am once again on the hunt for precious. Friends are friends but at the end of this day this is a business and a business is all about being successful, no matter what field of business your in you dream to became a success in it and tonight I am looking to continue my success no matter who I have to get through. Friend, foe it doesn’t matter either way because when we step into this ring friendship goes out the window and all there is left is a foe who stands in the way of what I want.
With those final words spoken from the mouth of Mysterio, he hands the microphone back over to Justin Roberts as his music plays over the pa system. Taking his leave from the ring Rey heads back up the ramp way high-fiving some more of the fans’ hands and then disappears into the back.
