Bio

When it comes to wrestling dynasties, names such as McMahon, Hart, Jarrett, and Orton are often tossed around. The Purr Clan is a cesspool of talented men and women, one person in particular who stands out is Amber LeBeau, the older half-sister of ESW Chairman, Tommy Purr. With a past mostly shrouded in mystery, Amber made her professional debut alongside then-boyfriend Mace in the WWA in 2000. There, the dynamic and volatile couple joined forces with friends RuCCu$ and Diablo to form the dominant and feared stable Killer Instinct. In their quest for supremacy and dominance over the entire promotion, it was only natural that the duo who considered themselves to be the reigning couple in all of Professional Wrestling would cross paths with America’s Sweethearts … Bombshell and Tommy Purr, who had just graduated high school months earlier.

The feud between the busty babes and the up-and-coming male Superstars would prove to be the work of the fates as Amber set her sights on Bombshell’s Women’s Championship and Mace and Purr contended for the World Championship against champion Lightning. Lightning and his girlfriend, Thunder, also considered themselves to be the most prolific couple in the company, leading then-Commissioner Purr to sanction the first-ever Triple Threat Mixed Tag Team “Couples Therapy” Ladder Match with Lightning’s title on the line as well as Bombshell’s. Thunder snatched the Women’s Title and Mace won the World Title that night … further fueling Purr and Amber’s desire to be at the top of the company.

Amber eventually succeeded, creating the Trashy Ho Match and defeating Thunder and Bombshell to become the third woman to hold the title. Unsatisfied with the competition presented to her by the other plethora of women (including ESW Femme Fatales Kelly Matthews, Mrs. Robinson, and Precious Fairchild), Amber began training religiously in order to compete against the men and be taken seriously. At this stage, Purr was running the promotion as the owner – Daniel Carney – continuously dropped the ball and would vanish for weeks at a time. Seemingly content after humiliating Bombshell in the Trashy Ho Match, the vicious Amber set her sights on Commissioner Purr in order to make sure her stable would remain dominant without any outside forces interfering.

When Tommy’s father – Jonathan Starsmore – debuted in the company as a manager, that’s when the escalating feud between brother and sister became interesting. One evening, Amber’s mother came to watch her perform and it was revealed that Jonathan was Amber’s father, a truth that had been hidden from her due to Amber’s mother’s promise to Jonathan that news of their affair during his relationship with Tommy’s mother would never get out. Instead of hating her father or mother, or using this as leverage against Tommy in battle, the Dominatrix did an about-face and reached out in order to build a relationship with the family she didn’t know about. The two were virtually inseparable, forming the team of T&A and competing alongside one another regularly.

Two people who didn’t jump on “the happy family” bandwagon included Leda-Sophia Watanabe, Tommy’s older twin sister, and RuCCu$ of Killer Instinct. Leda competed under the ring name of Cheyenne and was successful in capturing the Women’s Title after Amber had relinquished the belt to focus on integrating herself with the men. Leda enjoyed moderate success, yet was constantly overshadowed by her siblings despite being a competent and beautiful ring competitor. Leda has always been jealous of Tommy’s popularity and of the close relationship Amber has always had with their father Jonathan. After Mace abruptly left the WWA, RuCCu$ saw himself as the leader of the flailing Killer Instinct, despite the fact that Amber was more talented and more popular than he could dream of. With Mace gone, the relationship between Amber and Mace ended as well … and RuCCu$ latched on, even becoming engaged to Amber briefly. RuCCu$ attempted to sponge off of Amber’s growing fanbase and use her family ties with Purr to get on the fast track to the top in the WWA … but when the results were not what he expected, he engaged in a vicious battle with the Commissioner. Not only did RuCCu$ lose against Purr, but he lost Amber in the process, who called off their engagement, dumped him, and threw him out of Killer Instinct on national television.

Amber proved her toughness against all male competitors and when the WWA World Championship went vacant, it was she and her brother, as well as arch-enemies Jayson Keller and The Demon, who competed in a mini-tourament to determine who would wear the crown of World Champion. Amber soundly defeated The Demon, who had always mocked her for being a woman in a man’s ring and Tommy finally garnered a win against Keller in his own specialty match, The Wolves Den. Keller had beaten Tommy soundly six times prior to this meeting, which was bittersweet for Tommy as he realized he’d have to fight his sister in the finals. The two siblings held nothing back in the finals at the WWA’s last Pay-Per-View: Revolution in the first-ever Stairway to Heaven Match. Amber won the match after forty grueling minutes of high-flying, brawling action, becoming the last person and the first woman to hold the WWA World Championship and being the only person, to this day, who has defeated Tommy in his own specialty match.

After the WWA folded, the siblings and their friends meandered to various different promotions. One of the highlights of Amber’s XHWF career was being named the first-ever XHWF Tough Enough Champion, and later successfully defending the belt in a Glass Skyscraper Match against the massive Crush. This match solidified that Amber was not above sacrificing her bangin’ body to get the job done in the ring as she left the ring bruised and bloody, but still a champion. After the XHWF folded, Amber took some well-deserved time off and later joined the hWo in 2001.

Amber enjoyed moderate success, but things got messy when The Board of Directors mandated that Amber would receive a shot at the International Championship … held by her brother! This was all part of Neil Berkeley’s plan to torture Tommy Purr, who had been a thorn in his side since arriving to the hWo. What few people remember is that it was Bombshell who had offered up the stipulation of the match as the assistant to Neil while working under her real name of Yvonne Peterson; she had returned from a long sabbatical after the closing of the WWA and was irate at being replaced by Mrs. Robinson as Tommy’s manager. Purr trusted that he could have a match on the up-and-up with his sister … and that is exactly what they had until Jayson Keller returned and interfered, costing Tommy the title. It was then revealed on the next show that Amber had allied herself with Keller … and she was tired of playing nice with her brother. With Bombshell and Amber both against him, Tommy went into a self-exile, allowing his arch-enemy and his corrupted sister to run roughshod all over the hWo until its inevitable close.

After the close of the hWo, Amber and Keller stayed together for awhile, but lack of competition (and the fact that Amber was still hugely successful and getting movie and TV offers) eventually split the two apart. She attempted to mend fences with her father after a half a year. It was difficult, but Jonathan found he couldn't really stay angry at his headstrong daughter for very long. He sternly told her that she should try to fix things with Tommy, but the normally confident Amber found she didn't have the nerve or the words to do so. Her father accepted it, but he warned her that it would continue to haunt her if she didn't at least try.

Jonathan asked her why she'd allied herself with Keller. Contemplating the question, she simply told him that at the time, it was good business. Jonathan, somewhat of a ruthless businessman himself, couldn't really argue with her answer. She then went on to say that it wasn't personal, but it was time to change how the public viewed her, and Jayson Keller had given her that opportunity. She was simply tired of being the goody-two-shoes older sister of Tommy Purr. She loved her brother dearly, but that just was not the person that she truly was. Keller saw that and offered her the chance to show the world what she was made of, so she took it. Shrugging, she admitted that she could have probably handled it better, but at the time it seemed the most prudent solution.

Feeling restless, she decided to do some traveling on her schedule, not the schedule of the company that she worked for. Being away from wrestling was freeing, but she also sorely missed the competition. Deep down, she missed her brother and her friends, as well. Splitting with Keller hadn't been easy or amicable; and she was simply lonesome for some human contact. It was while she was vacationing in Tuscany that she saw the most delicious man she'd ever laid eyes on. Tall, blonde, Nordic, blue eyes... he was simply to die for. Bold as usual, she walked over and introduced herself. He said his name was Erik; he recognized her from television, and then excitedly introduced her to his girlfriend. Undaunted, she "happened" to run into him later at one of the nightclubs. He was thrilled to see her again and eagerly offered to buy her a drink. One turned into many, and by the time his girlfriend came to see where he'd gone, Erik was missing. The bartender, smirking all the while, told her that he'd been downing screwdrivers with 'some hot brunette' and that they'd left together.

Amber and Erik were inseparable from then out. The girlfriend saw them the next day, and broke up with Erik in a spectacular fashion, screaming and throwing drinks at him, but he was off in his own world. Eventually the two of them made their way back to Amber's home in New Orleans, Erik her dedicated manager/boyfriend/gopher. Her father kept complaining, and finally, Amber made the call to Tommy.
