Bio
Buck Lassek was the ultimate example of bad luck in the industry...to an extent.
Born in Eldon, Missouri, Buck's family owned a local gas station. The area was a hotspot for wrestlers travelling through Eldon toward the wrestling hotbed of St. Louis. As a result, Buck learnt about the wrestling industry at a young age. Despite their conections, Lassek was the only wrestling fan n the family, although his father often spent money on his son to attend various wrestling events.
A star college football player, weightlifter and amateur wrestler, Lassek eventually started in professional wrestling. Starting in various mid-west promotions, Lassek travelled outwards. During a stop-over in the north-east he laid eyes on a younger wrestler, Romeo Delight. The two instantly became close friends and when Lassek's contract was up he joined the same company as Delight where they formed the Young Warriors. With their combination of skill, charisma and photogenic good-looks the tag-team attained stardom.
Unfortunately, this is where Lassek's career went awry. During a tour in Japan Lassek tore a muscle in his left leg. The treatment resulted in an addiction to painkillers that drove him to the brink of destruction. Whilst in hospital, curing an addiction with a leg that still hadn't healed, Romeo Delight had gone to Canada as a singles wrestler to join the CWA.
Now battling depression and alcoholism, Lassek became a recluse and a joke within the wrestling industry. When he eventually laid those demons to rest, Lassek laced up his boots, donned a mask and travelled to Mexico under the name of El Dios Del Trueno. His career didn't last and he was unmasked. But a talent scout recruited Lassek to the CWA, where his career continues to live on.
