Bio
Hoshi Yakamoto was born on the 7th of December 1985 in Kissimmee, Florida. The daughter of Hiro Yakamoto, a very wealthy Japanese businessman, and Veronica DiAtella, an Italian-American and former waitress. The eldest of three children (with two elder half-siblings from Japan), Hoshi showed a phenomenal aptitude for athletics at a young age and excelled in many sports including gymnastics, tennis, figure skating and soccer as well as several martial art forms.
Hoshi attended Osceola High School, but spent a semester at Ishikibara Prep School in Japan. A fan of Professional Wrestling, Hoshi’s half-siblings Takashi and Miki Yakamoto were prominent Professional Wrestlers in Japan (Takashi was also a champion sumo) and she trained under them and served as a manager.
Hoshi soon traveled to Okinawa to learn from Sumiko Watanabe, a legendary Japanese female wrestler. Hoshi endured a vicious training regime but soon persevered as Sumiko’s most prized student.
Returning to the States, Hoshi made her in-ring debut in an independent fed in Tampa, Florida. Hoshi subsequently traveled to Puerto Rico, Mexico (where she learned the style of Lucha Libre) and Europe. On return to Japan, Hoshi fought in a vicious series of hardcore shoot matches. One such match left a very visible scar on the back of her neck from a steel-chair wrapped in barbed wire.
Eventually, Hoshi made her way to Canada and enrolled in the GWO in Vancouver. Hoshi has spent the last few years in Canada, becoming one of the CWA’s best loved female competitors. Hoshi now competes in the ESW in her mother’s native New York City.
