Bio

Don’t let her good-natured personality fool you, Tanja Michaels is a fighter. Raised in an Italian-American district of The Bronx, Tanja was the youngest of three girls (her elder sisters, Jennifer and Jessica are twins) and daughter to Antonio (Tony) DiAtella and Maria Michaels. Whilst the DiAtella family was mostly a close-knit, warm, family, Tony was the black sheep. A neglectful alcoholic who often assaulted his wife and daughters (Tanja’s choice of clothing partly comes from the numerous scars on her arms and legs from her father) Eventually, he left the family and Tanja adopted her mother’s maiden name.

Despite this, Tanja and her family were on good terms with the other DiAtella family members. Tanja saw her cousin Hoshi Yakamoto as an elder sister. However, her relationship with Kira was more strained. Tanja, a thoroughly working-class tomboy had an often bitter antipathy towards her more feminine and affluent cousin, Kira.

Tanja also showed a talent towards wrestling. A fan since the very earliest parts of her childhood, Tanja was initially trained by her father (who often wrestled matches in the New York/New Jersey area) but quickly outmatched his abilities. Still at an incredibly young age, Tanja left The Bronx for Vancouver, Canada to train under Hoshi. This has been going on ever since, with Tanja filling in time with the occasional match and work outside the ring.

Now she’s ready for some spotlight…
