Winter Warfare Progress

Desolation VII was the start of the Winter Warfare Tournament. Its purpose: to win the opportunity to fight Fang in a Universal Championship match. It’s the quest for gold that pits the fan favorites against each other, the “not so favorites” against each other and the unknown who are trying to find their place in the TWN against each other.

The contestants for this tournament include: Rob Rison, Maddog, Kage, Hunter McKay, Indra, Brooke Stevenson, Kyle Stevenson, and Andy Dalton.

Rob Rison and Maddog grappled against each other in a double debut match for a chance to advance to the semi-finals.  Maddog took clear advantage in this match when he slammed a massive clothesline on Rison. Rison’s street smarts paid off when he played dead to resummon his strength.  After that Rison came back with a torrent of attacks that were definitely not by the books. His street fighting prowess gains him control of the match and advances him into the semi-finals.

Kage and Hunter McKay were matched up to fight for that spot in the semifinals. This match up showed Kage as the initial aggressor.  However it wasn’t long before McKay gains back his momentum and offers a great come back.  The entire match the two fighters took the advantage back and forth until Kage went for McKay’s injured shoulder.  Perhaps McKay didn’t like that very much as he turned on Kage with a kick below the belt. Not long after that McKay got the pin fall and the advancement.

Brooke Summer Stevenson and Indra were the next bought to take place.  It started badly for Brooke with an insulting slap across the face. Indra dominated Brooke with a stream of beautifully executed moves coupled with brute force.  Brooke did have a few moments of advantage in the match but she was finally defeated.  Indra advances to the semis.

Kyle Stevenson and Andy Dalton were the final match up and the main event for Desolation VII.  Stevenson starts out with the advantage from the moment the bell rang. Stevenson hit Dalton with a barrage of non-classical near street fighting moves.  Before Dalton gets the opportunity to recollect himself, Indra spears Stevenson in the back. The referee calls for a DQ and Stevenson gains the win and the privilege of advancing to the semifinals.

Desolation VIII put all the winter warfare matches on hold while a triple threat match up took place between three of the contenders for the semi final.  Desolation IX has a match up scheduled for Rob Rison versus Hunter McKay.  With Kyle Stevenson out of the picture due to the injuries incurred at Desolation VIII Indra has no choice but to wait for the outcome of the Rison/McKay match to see who ultimately wins the Winter Warfare and a shot at the gold.
