[ Not everyone believes in doing good deeds or even really wants to do them. Me however...I love no, I live to do them! Just to see the smile on the person's face after you. The feeling of knowing that you made a differnce is their life is reward enough for me. Today in beautiful Melbourne, Australia, I had the honor to visit some children in a local hospital. Actually a little girl there requested to meet me. That does my heart more good than you can ever know. As I got off the elevator I walked down the hall just peering into each room feeling sorry for these poor people's pain that they must go through. I arrived at the room and the little girl and her mom were in there. I lightly knocked and then entered. The little girl's face lit up right away as her mom stood to greet me extending me her hand.] Skylar Black:"Hello, hope i'm not interrupting anything..am I?" [ The little girl immediate sat up.] little girl: "Mommmy...it's...it's.." Skylar Black: "It's who? Who?..." [ I smiled at her, I love children so much. I extended my hand in friend to her mom.] Skylar Black: "Skylar Black and you are?" The Mom: "Patty...pleased to me you." Skylar Black: "Same here." [ I sat next to the adorable child and place my hand on hers.] Skylar Black: "So what is your name?" little girl: "Tersea." Skylar Black: "Really? I have a friend named tersea." Tersea: "You do?" Skylar Black: "Sure do..You actually may have heard of her.." Tersea: "I have?" Skylar Black: "Yes...does Tiffany Phoenix ring a bell?" Tersea: "That's her name?" Skylar Black: "It sure is...and I'm sure she would be thrilled to know that she shares the same name with such an adorable little girl." Tersea: "Gee, I..." Skylar Black: "Trust me, she would be." [ I said as I smiled and winked at the child.] Skylar Black: "So what would you like to do?" Tersea: "Do you think you can read me a story?" Skylar Black:"Well my dear you're in luck...reading stories is one thing I'm the best at." Tersea: "You don't mind." Skylar Black: "Only if you do me a favor.." Tersea: "Me do you a favor." Skylar Black: "Absolutely...Think you can?" [ Her eyes lit up as if I just made her day by asking her to do me a favor.] Tersea: "Sure, what is it?" [ I reached for her little digtial camera on her table by her bed and handed it to her mom.] Skylar Black: "Well it's simple all you have to do is try not to look too adorable in the picture that I'm taking with you." [ She giggled as I put my arm around her and got ready to take the picture.] The Mom: "Ready girls?" Tersea: "Ready..." The Mom: "Smile...And say...cheese..." Skylar and Tersea: "Cheeeeeessssseeee." [ Her mom just looked so happy that her little girl was laughing and smiling.] Skylar Black: "Thanks..." The Mom: "No..Thank you Skylar..." [ I just nodded. The focused my attention back on Tersea.] Skylar Black: "Ok Now...which book would you like me to read to you?" Tersea: "Cinderella..." Skylar Black: "One of my personal favorites....bring it here...chickie..." [ She handed me the book and I began to read to her. Her mom walked up to me and whispered in my ear that she was going to get some coffee. I told her to take her time that her daughter was in safe hands. Before I knew it..I was at the happily ever after of the book and my new little friend Tersea was fast asleep. Her mom had be standing in the door way for some time watch us as I read the book to her and joked along with her child. I gentlely closed the book and got up. Softly I kissed the sweet child on the top of her head. Before I left I placed a big package on the table in her room filled with AWA merchandise which included my necklace and T-shirt along with a teddy bear mike had put in there as well and some other cool things that little girls love. I made my way towards the door and her mom.] Skylar Black: "Patty...I'm sorry but I have to go..." The Mom: "Oh I understand, infact I'm surprised you stayed this long.." Skylar Black: "I wish I could have stayed longer..." The Mom: "You're so sweet thank you..." Skylar Black: "I left that box for her on the table. I was going to give it to her after the story but she fell asleep..." The Mom: "The chemo...really has taken alot out of her." Skylar Black: "I'm sure it has..." The Mom: "The doctors are hopefully but it's just so hard to watch her go through this." Skylar Black: "I'm sure it's not easy for you...but you can't give up on your faith and hope." The Mom: "That's about all we have left..." [ It really just made me want to cry. I gave patty a hug and whispered.] Skylar Black: "Tersea will be in my prayers every night, and if I can do anything else please call." The Mom: "Thank you..." Skylar Black: "No, thank you for letting me meet your daughter." [ I left the room more humbled than ever. It really makes you think about how we take the everyday things in our lives for granted. That's something I will make sure never to do again. I can't wait to get home to mike and patience put my arms them and hug them both.] The Match Talk: Tiffany what else is there to say that hasn't been already? The simple fact is that we both stand in the others way of the Fem-X title, it's just a matter of who wants it more. Do you? Or do I? Well if I am to believe the rumors floating about that you plan on screwing me out to this title shot then the answer would be you. But I was never one to believe and put much stock into rumors. I like to base my decisions on facts and the fact is you never have done a dis-honest thing in your life. The only bad thing you did in your life is trust Rick Young which is a mistake you will never make again. You're a good person Tiffany with a good heart. I know that Monday when we go one on one that it will be fair, good and honest just the way the both of us are. It's the only way that we know how to be. It's the reason I didn't want to fight you last week while you were ill. I know the amazing fighter that you can be and that you are. That's the woman I wanted to face... Yes, I easily could have taken the low road and made you fight but I know that you would have extended the same curtiousy to me. That you wouldn't want a cheap win that way, that you'd want me at me strongest. That's why I did what I did...I know you're like me Tiffany and you believe that to be the best you must beat that best.. In my eyes you are one to the top women wrestlers today...and now that you are healthy I know when I beat you monday I will have beaten a strong healthy Tiffany Phoenix at her best...and that's just the way I like... Good luck girl...Should be fun |
