[ Some of you may have gotten the wrong impression of me. And at the risk of using too many clichés you can't judge a book by it's cover. I know that most of you might be a bit shocked that I'm allowing myself to open up this way, and although my narrator has done a wonderful job so far. I felt that this is something that I needed to do. I'm sure most of you have come to the conclusion because I'm happy all the time that I don't let things bother me. Which is absolutely wrong! No one is perfect in any way shape or form..again way to state the obvious right? I know but the point is while I may be a simple sort of woman I'm sure none of you ever would have thought I'd ever feel anger. I mean I'm the happy girl..I'm the girl that has the upbeat attitude that makes everyone sick that I'm so happy all the time...Am I wrong? I didn't think so.. Sure I'm not beautiful and tough like Jalie.... Nor am I as bitter as Auroa seems to be... I'm not as experienced in the ring as Angela Jameson... And I'm not lusted after by men the way Brandi James is... What I offer is something differnt than all of these divas. I offer something pure, a sweet nature. Foolish me, I'm the one that always wants to believe that all people have some good inside of them. It's really just a matter of finding it and then helping them let it shine through. I sat in my hotel room pondering exactly what my fit in this company was. Did I have the drive to compete on a weekly basis? Am I offering anything differnt. I did my usual match prepartion and watched Auroa's promotion. Oh dear Lord help this poor lost soul. You know sometimes I am aware that God can be cruel but... I do have faith in God having a plan. So many doubts are among us when it comes to the Lord. I guess that's why Alex Wilkins is such a breath of fresh air. Hmmmm maybe I should have him speak to Auroa. I bet he could shed some light about God to her...With that thought I reached for my cell phone on my night stand and dialed up my church going buddy.] Skylar Black: "Come on Alex please be there..I can't do this on my own. First Mike needs my help finding his faith and now Auroa.." [ Unfortunately there was no answer. It's very possible Alex was in church worshiping getting straight with the lord. I was forced to do the next best thing and leave him a message.] Skylar Black: "Hi Alex..it's Skylar. I was wondering when you get this message if you can give me a call back. I have a slight problem I could use your advice on. Alright well have a wonderful day and God Bless you." [ Now what? The one person that I thought I could turn to for help isn't avaible. I suppose Auroa and her anger will just have to wait for now. After all I'm only one person I can only do so much. Mike needs nearly all my attention with his problems. I guess at times I take on too much, maybe more than I can handle. I'm not exactly sure how I got this reputation of being a soul saver. Maybe it's from Seth Thomas after he asked me to help re-hab his wife Jalie. Regardless that didn't change the fact that I'm thought of as the Saint of AWA. It could be worse though, so I suppose I'll just take my "role" and wear it as a badge of honor.] Skylar Black: "Hmmm...I wonder how long it will be before Jenny calls me?" [ My gal pal and ace reporter Jenny Tull is almost never late with a phone interview. So it was a bit odd that she didn't phone me right away. Still I guess...Oh wait...there she is. Shame on me for doubting the girl. Eagerly I answered the call.] Skylar Black:"Hello?" [ I knew it! It was Jenny! ] Jenny Tull: "Hey girl..what's the good word?" Skylar Black: "All is quiet so far.." Jenny Tull: "Excellent...so getting ready for the big match?" Skylar Black: "Are we starting the interview?" Jenny Tull: "Yes...I have to fit a few others in as well...so no bullshit talk today..Oooopss.I'm sorry Sky." Skylar Black: "It's ok Jenny, I'm not a Saint you know." Jenny Tull: "I know but you're the closet thing to one that I know of." [ Yep that's the story of my life. Always the good girl no matter what. For once I'd like to be thought of as dangerous and the kind of girl that your mom wouldn't trust you with. ] Skylar Black: "It's ok..hell if I care..." [ Oh please forgive me lord...on the bright side I'll have something to confess to at this weeks confession.] Jenny Tull: "Ok...well thanks Sky...Anyhow...This time you face Auroa for the Fem-X Title and her exact words were that she is going to wipe the floor with you. How much of a chance do you think she stands?" Skylar Black: "You know Jenny under stress we all say things that we wish we could take back. And from what I've seen Auroa is stressed out to the max. I don't hold anything like that against her. As far as her chance, I think she is a worthy competitor and has just as much a chance walking out the champion as I do staying the chammpion." Jenny Tull: "Are you curious at all who the little girl is?" Skylar Black: "I think we all are, but truly it's not any of my business. Sometimes personal issues are better left alone." Jenny Tull: "So that's how you intend to handle it?" Skylar Black: "Yes..she has enough to deal with and it should be done in private, but my prayers are with both she and katherine." Jenny Tull: "That's so sweet of you Sky, but from the sound of it and from what we've seen Auroa isn't much of a believer in the God." Skylar Black: "Trust me, I'm aware of that. But really we all have our moments when we doubt our faith. It's in those moments when it's tested that if you believe in the lords plan miracles can happen." Jenny Tull: "Not always though." Skylar Black: "No that is true...and God isn't always fair. but when one bad thing does happen alot of times it's linked with a good thing that happened by result of the bad." Jenny Tull: "Such as?" Skylar Black: "Such as...a horrible tragedy would be a child dying...correct?" Jenny Tull: "yes that would be horrible.." Skylar Black: "I agree..but what if out of that tragedy that child was an organ match for another child dying that needed a liver? And then another one that needed a kidney..What if from that one death two or more lives could be saved? I mean I'm not saying that the pain of the family from the child that died isn't warranted..cuz it most certainly would be. And their grief would be unbarable, but if that child could save a few lives..then that was God's plan. He took a life to save a few. Is it just or fair? Not always, but that is the lords plan." Jenny Tull: "Yeah,, I guess I see your point." Skylar Black: "Not to say that there isn't pain involved...I just feel for Auroa and I know that alot of her pain will be taken out on me. That's just something I'll have to accept, but trust me, I will not just lie down for her. If she wants my Fem-X title she's going to have to work for it." Jenny Tull: "A champion with a heart of gold. So I suppose Auroa's harsh words didn't effect you?" Skylar Black: "Why should they? It's what she has to do..It's part of her job. I'm not the silly twitt everyone thinks that I am. I know that Auroa will do and saying anything to become Champion. It's what she wants, and just as she will. I need to do the same in order to keep what I have." Jenny Tull: "So this should be a good fight?" Skylar Black: "It will be one for the books Jenny...you can quote me on that one!" Jenny Tull: "Oh I will....Well my friend good luck on Saturday." Skylar Black: "Thanks so much Jenny, and after we have to go out and have a drink." Jenny Tull: "I'm gonna hold you to that..." Skylar Black: "Alright..you do that..." [ I said laughing as Jenny and I hung up the phone. Gee was that all I had to do today. Granted it was night time now and I did my press release along with my daily workout. But something just seemed off to me. I guess not having to babysit Mike lately was leaving me a bit lonely. On the plus side I'm thrilled at all the progress he was making getting better. Mike has the potential to be such a wonderful man only if he belived himself. Oh well I'm sure a few hints from alex and he'll be fully healed. Just then I remember what I had to do. I had to call Maggie the nanny that I hired to watch Patience while Mike and myself were on tour in Japan. I needed to make sure that she was following my list that I left. Not that I didn't trust her but I need to in order to feel better. I dialed up the phone number and much to my surprise Margret answered on the second ring.] Skylar Black: "Yes...Marget...oh I'm fine thank you. Mike? I really haven't seen him all day. I think in a way maybe good though. It very well could mean he's finally getting strong enough and believing in himself. Yes...I think that's wonderful as well....So did Patience do her homework? Great...now make sure when you feed her dinner that it's not junk...It's important that she learns to like her veggies now....ok...Also....start her nightly bed time routine at 7pm..have her take her bath...and don't use the bubble bath under the sink...we used it last week and she's allergic to it...make sure too when you tuck her in which is at 8pm sharp that you continue with "The Princess Bride.." we left off on page 53.. oh good..." [ My oh good came when Margret interrupted my instructions by telling me that patience wished to speak to me. A huge smile came across my face as I herd her sweet angelic voice. ] Skylar Black: "Hey sweetheart....Oh is that so? And how did you do on your spelling quiz? Wonderful! Make sure you put a gold star on the chart that we made...hahahaha....I'm so proud of you! I told you that if you study hard you'd do well....Ummm daddy isn't here right now..but I'll send him your love....ok...Now make sure that you listen to what Margret tells you, and I'll make sure that you get a suprise when I come home...Alright...now be a good girl....I love you too...bye sweetie..." [ Just as I was hanging up the phone it started to feel like I was being watched by someone. Which I was by Mike who was standing in the open doorway of my room holding a bag in his right hand and he was smiling. ] Mike Young: "So how is Patience doing?" [ He said, getting my attention focused on him, but before I was looking at him he moved his right hand and the bag he was holding behind his back. ] Skylar Black: "She's doing well..she got a 99 on her spelling test...I guess that she mixed up an I with an E....but still she did very well. She's having a great time with Maggie so that's really all that matters." Mike Young: "Yeah it is...so is she minding Maggie well?" [ Mike said, as he took a step in to the room from the door way. ] Skylar Black: "Yes...very well..." [ I squinted a bit to try to get a better look at the bag behind Mike's back.] Skylar Black: "Oooooo....did you get something for Patience while you were out?" Mike Young: "Um...what?" [ Mike said, nervously as if he was trying to act like he didn't know what I was talking about. Which is when he brought the bag out from behind his back to look at it to jog his own memory. ] Mike Young: "OH...that..." [ He said, still nervous about something, but I couldn't tell what was making him so nervous all of the sudden. ] Mike Young: "Um...actually it's for you...a thank you for everything that you have done for Patience and me..." [ blushing a bit I smiled at him.] Skylar Black :"Mike that's really not needed. I'm glad to help..really.." Mike Young: "I know your glad to help, but really I want you to have this." [ I was curious and excited at the same time. I stood up and walked towards Mike..] Skylar Black:"So...Can I have it?" Mike Young: "Yes you may..." [ He said, as he lifted his right hand slightly with the bag to hand it to me. ] Skylar Black: "Thanks..." [ I grabbed the bag and sat on the bed. It was so swee that Mike thought of me at all. Immediately I took out the brightly wrapped box from the bag and tore the paper off like a kid on christmas day. I opened the box and took out a beautiful snow globe. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I wondered if I had ever told Mike about my snow globe collection before? Gifts like this mean the world to me. Un-like Brandi who adores her diamonds...give me a heart-felt gift and to me it's price-less. I wasn't sure exactly how long I looked at my gift before I jumped back to focus. Looking up at Mike...I smiled..] Skylar Black: "Thank you so much...I love it! It's so beautiful..." Mike Young: "Your welcome...and if you wind it up a bit the little skater in the globe will skate around the pond in the globe." Skylar Black: "Awww really?" [ ofcourse you know that I just had to do it. I wound up the turn key and stood next to Mike as the both of us watched the skater around the beautiful globe.] Skylar Black :"Mike that is just beautiful.." [ I placed my arms around him and gave him a warm hug. Mike must have been shocked by my hug, because he just stood there for moment with out moving. When he finally did move however he returned the hug. ] Mike Young: "I am glad that you like it." Skylar Black: " I really do..." [ I put the gift on my next stand that way it would be the last thing I looked at before I went to sleep and the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. As I placed it down I looked a bit over my shoulder at Mike.] Skylar Black: "Did I ever tell you that I collect these?" Mike Young: "Not that I can remember." Skylar Black:" oh..." [ Like I said before I didn't remember if I had or hadn't told Mike that before. Maybe it was a conversation we had while he was drunk or just blacked out. Then I remembered something Patience had asked me to give him.] Skylar Black: "Oh...right before I forget.." [ I turned fully around and stood infront of Mike. Standin on my tip toes to reach his cheek..I softly kissed him.] Skylar Black: "Patience wanted me to give you a kiss goodnight for her." [ Mike just stood there again, but this time I could see his cheeks starting to blush a bit. When he realized that he started to blush he lowered his head down to look at the floor trying to hide it. ] Mike Young: "I...I...umm..I..." [ I couldn't believe that Mike was getting so flustered over a kiss to the cheek. realizing that I just embarrassed him, I covered my mouth a bit flustered myself.] Skylar Black : "Maybe I shouldn't have done that..." Mike Young: "It's alright...I just didn't expect it." [ He said, as he lifted his head up to look at me even though he was still blushing some what. ] Skylar Black: "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have...I can't belive that I did that...I don't know what's come over me." [ My lord I was ranting like a fool in love.] Mike Young: "It's alright really you were just doing something a six year old asked you do." [ He said, as he gently put his right hand on my shoulder. ] Skylar Black: "Thanks for being so understanding.." [ As I was thanking Mike...my cell phone began to vibrate. ] Skylar Black: "Oh Excuse me for a moment..." [ I really hoped it was Alex calling me back telling me that he would be there to help me with all lost souls that need saving. I picked it up and saw it was a photo being sent to me. Quickly I downloaded the photo being sent..Oh how cute...it was Patience holding up a picture. Apparently Maggie and Patience drew up some pictures and Patience wanted to show me right away. I beamed as I saw her there holding up a picture she drew for the camera of herself, Mike and Me...ofcourse they were mainly just stick figures with yellow crayon hair...but she looked so proud...] Skylar Black: "Oh My God...how cute...she even wrote good night at the bottom.." [ I said giggling at the cuteness of it. Mike just looked at me for a moment before he stuck his neck out a little bit to try and see what I was looking at. ] Mike Young: "What's so cute?" Skylar Black: "This...." [ I moved close next to him and showed him the photo on my cell.] Skylar Black: "How cute is that? She really loves to draw." [ Mike looked at the photo for a moment with a smile on his face. ] Mike Young: "That she does...which that has to do with my sister. My sister is an artist so when she watched Patience they would always draw together." [ I could tell he was very happy to know that Patience likes me. ] Skylar Black: "Well she definately has a gift...who knows one day maybe she'll grow up to be a famous clothing designer. Or perhaps design a beautiful landmark building." Mike Young: "I have a feeling she is going to do both, but maybe that's just my pride of being her father talking." Skylar Black: "Maybe...." [ Looking over at the clock I saw the time...] Skylar Black: "It's getting a bit late...I don't want to keep up." Mike Young: "Alright...well I will see you in the morning I guess." [ He said, as he took a step back to turn towards the door. ] Skylar Black: "Ummm Mike?" [ Something came over me, I didn't want him to go. Was this wrong of me? I couldn't help myself. Mike stopped and turned to look back at me. ] Mike Young: "Something wrong Skylar?" Skylar Black: "No...nothings wrong but if you wanted to stay and maybe we can order a movie from the TV or something..." [ Wow that was so stupid of me...he's not going to want to. I'm not the kind of girl he would want at all. Quickly I began searching for reasons in my head to get out of this or to tell him it was fine just incase of rejection.] Mike Young: "What movie do you have in mind? I hope not one of those expensive porn flicks." [ He said, with a light hearted sense of humor to it even though he knows that's not the kind of movie I would order. ] Skylar Black: " I don't know..maybe a comedy? Or we can see what they have...As long as your brother and Brandi don't star in it." [ I said with a wink.] Mike Young: "Your room...your call." [ He said, with a smile on his face as he walked over to the door of my room to shut it. picking up the remote and sitting up on the bed I clicked. Then saw it..] Skylar Black: "What about Cheaper by the dozen 2?" [ Mike stood there for a minute thinking about it and then with a smile on his face he started to walk over towards the bed. ] Mike Young: "That sounds good." [ He said, as he took a seat on the floor in front of the bed. ] Skylar Black: "Mike ....you can sit next to me if you want. I know you have a bad back.." [ I nudge my head for him to sit next to me...and fluffed a pillow for him. Mike looked at me for a moment before he stood up and sat down on the bed next to me. ] Mike Young: "I wasn't sure if you would have been comfortable with me in the bed with you." Skylar Black: "I wouldn't have been comfortable with you on the floor..silly..." [ I said..playfully pinching his cheek and then resting my head on his shoulder as I clicked ok to order the movie with my remote.] [ Mike tensed up a bit when he felt my head rest on his shoulder, but after a few moments he loosened back up as the movie started. ] Mike Young: "Have you watched this movie before?" Skylar Black: "Nope...but I heard it was really cute...I know one day I'd love to have a big family...maybe not as big but a good size..." Mike Young: "Yeah...I don't see how anyone would what a family that big...I know I am comfortable with two daughters right now, but maybe one day after I am married hopefully I can get a son finally." Skylar Black: "Well..you never know..." [ I just looked up at Mike, he really looked at peace for the first time. I tilted my head up and again kissed his cheek.] Skylar Black: "Thanks for staying and watching this with me." [ I could see him blushing again, but this time it wasn't as bad as the first time. ] Mike Young: "Your welcome Skylar..." [ He said, before he shocked me by kissing me on the forehead. I just said nothing as we both looked into each other eyes. Then smiled and began to watch the movie. Now I can't be sure because in my life so far I have never been in love but as Mike put my tiny hand into his and held it, I couldn't help but think that maybe just maybe this is what love feels like....] |
