The man named by the wrestling industry as the "Hardcore Icon" was in CWF from the very start back in January 2003, continuing his feud with Dazz while also battling Souless for the US title. After CWF closed its doors and Jake found a temporary home elsewhere, he returned promptly upon hearing that CWF was to reopen, immediately chasing the Chaos championship and battling everyone including Sickboy, Jason Garret and even Jason Wright for it, even though Wright wasn't a part of the CWF at the time he won the title. Jake was forced to go back to the company he was once employed by, invade their show and attack Wright in the middle of the ring to regain the Chaos title and bring it back home, Wright eventually coming to CWF shortly afterwards and teaming with Jake, Fear and then Vice President Tommy Chaos in a newly reformed Chaos A.D., shunning founding member Dazz and his fiance Faith. This caused a battle that lasted several months between Faith and Jake as she matched Fury move for move in the hardcore wrestling environment. They competed in the first ever Hell's Basement match at Hellbound 2005, the Chaos title still eluding Jake after he lost it to Faith during the Season's Beatings PPV a few months previously. Jake disappeared for a few months, returning in time to beat Kristian Sailes in an interpromotional Hell's Basement match at the Highway to Hell PPV in June then getting involved in the one night tournament for the vacated Chaos title at July's Convicted Innocence event, holding a victory over Whitecloud but losing in the finals to Domino Shadow after taking a powerbomb over the top rope onto a structure Fury himself brought to ringside, Fury landing on top of it and falling through a sheet of glass, barbed wire and finally onto thumbtacks at the bottom of this deadly ladder of weapons. Jake spent a few weeks away to recover but bounced right back as part of the Eliminator Elite tournament, competing in the Chaos division rounds and winning through to the fatal four way elimination finals against representatives from the other divisions, the winner getting a shot at the World Heavyweight title. Jake came up short that time but was named by talent and fans as a man worthy of Hall of Fame status for his contributions not only to CWF, but to other promotions and especially the entire hardcore wrestling community.
