"After The Flesh" by My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult.
Manager/Valet:
Enika Engel.
Alignment:
Meshed. Simply put, he's generally hated by the fans of 'individual promotions'
outside of the AOWF Community. To long time wrestling fans, and people who
aren't so easily influenced by political favoritism, he's loved. He delivers a
show, one way or another, but he's not willing to be confined to an opinion that
isn't his own.
Weapon
Of Choice:
Hawk Eye VFT Graphite Sand Wedge.
Wrestling Style:
You know, there's always a big gap in style between your time in the indies and
your time in the limelight. For the past five years of Wolf's somewhat
main-stream career, he's certainly undergone a lot of changes, in short periods
of time; and while that's being said, it's more of an add-and-build and
stick-with-what-works process than a complete an utter switch. He started
somewhere with a somewhat rough hardcore base, which transcended into a
submissionist-mat based type of setting, to a complete swansong these days of a
mixture of all the above tied in with a some Capoeira and High Flying manuevers
(albeit the fact that he hates the turnbuckles, and much prefers using the ropes
for springboards).
In
simplest terms - he's mixed, and in having an almost all-round basis comes the
strengths and weaknesses. While he could rely on his submission-mat base, and
still keep his overall win percentage well above the eight-tenths model he's had
in the past couple of years, the finesse that he carries is a must, and that's
where he busts out the springboarding. It's always been one thing to be able to
annihilate your competition, but it's another all together to keep the fans
interested. The dynamics of the business were a natural part of his upbringing -
with his step-father owning and co-owning a number of promotions (HiC and PWA,
namely), and with himself at times doing the same, he knows the in's and outs
and how to fulfill both interests. That's where his Capoeira/Submission/High
Flying basis comes into play - which, needless to stay, lacks the whole strength
factor. While he can hold his own for the most part, there are predicaments that
put him at quite a disadvantage, due of course to the aforementioned strength
factor and of course size.
Trainers:
Dustin's step-father, Dalton "The Spider" Campbell (of PWA/HiC fame), pretty
much single-handedly laid down Wolf's basic in-ring knowledge. After Dustin left
home for college, and started touring the indy circuit, he met up with Cliff
Young - who honed his mat-skills, his submission skills, and ultimately his pain
tolerance as well. Shortly after, Cliff got Dustin involved with his first
professional promotion, the SWA - which, by trial and error, Dustin would pick
up most of his high flying and hardcore wrestling skills. With all of said
knowledge, and through constant nameless side trainers, Dustin meshed all of
those skills into one conglomerate style. Then he met up with a fellow wrestler,
and his soon to be biggest rival, Angelus Dellanuite, who opened up his eyes to
the art of Capoeira. Of course, it's a form that takes years to learn, and an
even longer time to perfect, but given a little bit of direction, Dustin took
what basic knowledge of it he was given, and incorporated it into his already
widely-influenced style.
::RING
ATTIRE::
Upper Body:
A tucked in, sleeveless white shirt (monogrammed with his name, or Exit
Music, or any given logo really), underneith a thin, short sleve, satan/cotton/twill
button-down over shirt usually of a cadet blue color (a perfect match with his
eyes, but occasionally he'll switch out the color for something else.) He'll
usually fling this off around mid-match, if not at the very beginning.
Lower
Body:
Dark Beige or White colored cargos, usually with some kind of design or logo
monogrammed down the legs.
Footwear:
A pair of black and blue K-Swiss Classics. (the Nike thing ended ages
ago.)
Other:
He'll almost always wear a set of wrist bands featuring the Exit Music logo.
In addition to that, as an ode to his mentor and new age father figure, in Styx,
he wears a pair of dark blue framed, gray lensed pair of Oakley's down to the
ring, which he'll give to whoever accompanies him down before the match begins.
::MOVE ARSENAL::
Desperation Moves:
((Used ONLY as a last resort))
I. The Karma Shift - Thunderwolf catches an opponent in mid-flight (or if say they're going for a hurricanrana) bombs them down with a wicked stiff powerbomb, pulls them back up, locking their arms behind his legs, and jumping down in a driving position into a botched front face pancake that lands them on their neck. (Used in times of desperation - high profile pay-per-view main events, and still rarely at that. This is the end all, be all of his arsenal, and this move is specifically used in an attempt to directly injure the neck, back, and skull.)
II. Top Rope Cry of The Wolf - Same as above for the reasoning (neck/head), same as below for the move - only off of the top rope.
----
Finishers:
I.
The Cry Of
The Wolf
(used sparringly) - With the opponents body hunched over,
slightly to his right or left, he locks both of his arms with the opponents,
lifts them up in a single snap motion and holds them in the air for a couple of
seconds before forcing them straight down on their crown in an Implant DDT
position, with his arms still hooked with theirs. In simplest form it's an
Elevated Underhook Implant DDT, which can be hit from virtually anywhere, at
anytime. (Used as a knock-out/groggy move, to which only two people have kicked
out of in it's five years of existance.)
II.
Vapor
Transmission
(main)
- With the opponent standing, dazed, in the ring, Thunderwolf goes to the apron,
facing inside. With the opponent in range, Wolf springboards up to the top rope,
twisting himself around in the process (so that he is now facing away from the
ring). Wolf then leaps off while again twisting around (so he is, once again,
facing the ring), and locks his opponent into a front facelock, swinging around
into a Tornado DDT. AKA a 720 DDT
example.
III.
(The) Lycanthrope
Splash '03
- A
springboard (off the ropes, NOT the turnbuckle) Phoenix Splash, upon impact, a
leg is pulled up for a pin.
Setups:
I.
The Cry Of
The Wolf
- The
standard set-up is for wolf to Escorão
kick (capoeira leaning backside kick to the stomach,
example)
opponent, but this can often times be substituted for the Wolf's Bane, so long
as the situation calls for it.
II.
Vapor
Transmission
- None. So long as his opponent's groggy (and rather, he knows they're dazed),
he's up for the task. There's generally no taunt or anything of the sort
proceeding it, for that matter.
III.
(The)
Lycanthrope Splash '03
- Usually,
there's lack of any real transition between any move and this - it breaks down
to hitting an impact move, or something that's going to keep the opponent down
for any number of seconds - and then with lightening speed he grabs the ropes
(and if he's on the outside of the ring, he'll hop to the top rope, bounce into
the air, land on the ropes facing the crowd, and go at it that way) and
executes. If he really wants to put the opponent to shame, he'll proceed this
with a Cry of the Wolf.
----
Signatures:
I.
Wolfsbane
- Though
very rarely used, it's a turquoise mist that Thunderwolf spews into the face of
the opponent. Can be used to set said opponent up for the Escorão
kick into the Cry of the Wolf, or just in general for the Cry itself.
II. Dramatica
- The
Dramatica is a Modified Elevated Indian Deathlock.
III.
Salga De La
Música
-
Wolf whips
his opponent into the ropes, and then catches them in a Tilt-a-Whirl (think of
the Tilt-a-Whirl used by cruisers, with the over-the-shoulder position while
spinning) before slamming them down into a stiff spinebuster.
IV.
Wolfensteiner
-
Thunderwolf knocks the opponent into the turnbuckle, takes a run at them, and
hits a Folha Seca catching their jaw with a sharp kick on the way up. (Folha
Seca would be you literally running up you're opponent and springboarding
backwards, usually connecting with a brunt kick to the jaw on the way up). As
they wearily stagger out of the turnbuckle, Wolf hops to the top turnbuckle
(back towards the opponent, the opponent not too far away), and then jumps
backwards and catches the opponent with a rana. A la Rewind Rana.
V.
P-S-P
(Punk Statik Paranoia)
- Wolf hits
a drop toehold to his opponent, sending them crashing throat-first into the
bottom rope, staying there momentarily stunned. Wolf then bounces off of the
opposite ropes and leaps over his opponent, corkscrewing his body around 180
degrees and catching the top rope, uses the momentum of the swing to come back
and dropkick his opponent in the face (think of an acrobatic vertical instead of
horizontal version of the 619, completely different move, but it can be related
in such).
VI.
Hero's
Victory 2.0
- Elevated
Cannonball with an SSP base. Used in mockery of his step-father's standard top
rope splash. (done so quickly, and balled up, that any part of the body can land
the move. Depends on initial elevation and hangtime.)
VII.
Sweet Dreams Kick
- Okay,
every wrestler and their mother can do a standing side kick, it's a given. And
while Styx pefected the kick itself, Thunderwolf decided to his mentor and
father figures move one-step further and add in the element of a simple Au (capoeira)
cartwheel before dropping back and putting foot-to-lower jaw.
----
Standard Moves:
((These are just a basic outline, take liberty to use whatever.))
I. Striking: Vingativa (here), Cabecada (here), Jumping Martelo Rotado (roundhouse kick, here), Chapa de Costas (here), snap jabs, backflipping dropkick, springboarding knee smash, springboard missle dropkick, elbow-smash-to-throat, stiff uppercuts, reverse enziguri, spinwheel kicks, run-jumping clotheslines and forearms, springboarding headbutt-to-face (unorthodox), knee-smash (chest or head), hop-up knee smash (to face), knuckle punch to the temple, backhanded slap across the face.
II. Submissions: Drop down full-nelson (Masterlock), side texas cloverleaf, standard texas cloverleaf, elevated single-leg crab, ankle-lock, cattle-mutilation, reverse fujiwara armbar, figure four around the turnbuckle, bow and arrow hold, elevated surfboard, elevated camel clutch, jujigatame, Figure Four Sleeper, Spinning Cobra Clutch Sleeper Hold, Double STF, continuos diving Indian Deathlock, Kataha-jime (tazmission), spinning full nelson (only if opponent is under two hundred thirty-five pounds).
III. Grappling: Swing-down fisherman's suplex, tiger suplex, dragon suplex, german suplex, kip-up-canrana, diving arm breaker, front russian legsweep, flying head scissors, most DDT's, top rope t-bone suplex, front~flip fireman's carry slam, running neckbreaker, hurricanrana, various piledrivers, spinebusters, various bombs (to those under two hundred thirty-five pounds).
IV. Flying: Diving spinwheel kick, top rope diving neck-breaker, four-fity splash, shooting star press, float-over moonsault, asai moonsault, springboard, flying knee drop across the face, swanton bomb, elevated body splashes (used when an object is placed mid-ring and he can leap off of it), suicide dive, flipping legdrop gullotine over the safety/guard rail, dragonrana, missile dropkick to the face, high-angle frogsplash, leg drop gullotines of various kinds, if in a match with rain - expect to see some flying headbutts.
Mannerisms:
Stance:
Standard combined with occasional hops from foot to foot, anything to keep the
blood flowing.. He generally won't Ginga (capoeira), but if the situation calls
for it, he'll oblige for the constant movement.
Annoyance moves:
Paint-brushing
(repeated slaps to the back of the head), slaps, spitting if the situation calls
for it.
Taunt:
While down on is knees, a dusting of his hands after match usually isn't out of
the question (think Scott Hall). Resting against the ropes with a yawn if
he's dominating the match, a mock brushing off of his chest, and shaking his
head with a cocky little smirk aren't out of the equation either.
Cheating:
He's not above it if the situation calls for it, but he doesn't prefer it.
Strengthes:
His game plan is generally undeterminable. Usually you can watch a tape of
someone and get a pretty good read on their strengths and weaknesses, and then
be set for the upcoming match. With Dustin? This is never the case. He never
works the same match twice. The way he counters, the way he moves, the very way
he applies a hold will usually vary significantly. On that same tangent, he's
usually pretty cool headed and intelligent when it comes to stringing together
moves, and avoiding things that are going to potentially fuck him over in the
end. He won't go for moves that're gonna put him at risk, unless it's absolutely
necessary. In other words, don't expect to see him going for a Lycanthrope
Splash three minutes into a match. He's insanely aware during his matches as
well, just through instinct and the added bonus of Enika on the outside. That
whole overwhelming experience factor is something that works in his favor too.
Weaknesses:
First
and foremost is of course his size. Ironically it's usually never his downfall
(unless you count his first match with Firebrand), but it is definitely
something that can be a bit of an agitator. In the majority of his matches he's
got a pretty cool temperament, and his awareness is out of this world, but when
someone that he has a personal vendetta against (see; Corey Lazarus, Angel,
Nicolas Cole, formerly Protean) manages to catch the upper hand, he can usually
get caught up in the moment and blow a gasket. When that happens, he's a mess.
Sometimes he can get himself back on track, but usually he's too possessed to
maintain focus. He'll revert to natural instincts and forget his teachings, and
go straight in for a beating. Lastly there's a laundry list of previous
injuries... but most people don't know which ones are for real, and which ones
have been milked throughout the years.
