The hottest show on television

February 12th, 2008

The crowd is on their feet as we get ready for another edition of Overdrive. We see images of Frank Merritt, Jack Spade, 6Pac Dudley, Halloween Jack, Hoshi Yakamoto, Tommy Purr and Jack Spade while "Coming Undone" by KJorn plays before we head to ringside where Ricky Simms and Henry Lesher are again ready to call tonight's action.

Kannon Invitational

" Money " By Pink Floyd plays as the Team of Kira, Kannon, and Mr. Rivers comes strutting out with a series of boos. Mr. Rivers slides in the ring with briefcase in hand. Mr. Rivers takes a mic in hand and smirks as the crowd continues to boo.

Mr. Rivers - Rumor has it that Halloween Jack might still be out of commission, So he won't be attending tonight's overdrive. So for Kannon's Invitational we will call out a hometown boy to challenge for Ten Thousand dollars.

Random generic music plays as a young man running down the ramp getting a good ovation from the crowd. He slides in the ring as does Kannon.

Mr. Rivers - Okay son, It's easy, all you have to do is survive for three minutes.

Mr. Rivers slides out of the ring by Kira Yakamoto and the ref sounds the bell. The Young Man charges at Kannon, Only to be caught by one paw of Kannon's around the throat. Kannon quickly follows up with a choke slam. Kannon stands the kid back up and lifts him straight into a bear hug. The young man screams as Kannon tightens the grip, moment by moment. Kannon starts to violently shaking the young man side to side while containing the death grip squeeze on him. The Young Man yells that he gives up, As the ref calls for a bell. Kannon slams the kid down and raises his hands in victory.

Ricky Simms - The kid was locked up with no where to go.

Henry Lesher - Did that brat think he actually stood a chance?

Out of no where Halloween Jack slides in behind Kannon with chair, He pelts Kannon in the back, Making Kannon dropt to one knee. Jack faces Kannon and hits Kannon in the head with the chair three times before Kannon lays out with blood running down his forehead. Kira slides in only to take a chair shot for herself. Jack looks at Mr. Rivers and calls him in but ignores Jack. Mr. Rivers heads up the ramp and out of harms way cursing the whole time doing it.

Ricky Simms - Some retribution for Jack.

Henry Lesher - Some kind of hero, attacks from behind.

Halloween Jack picks up the briefcase and dumps out a load of money. Jack picks up the money and starts throwing it out to the crowd as they all cheer. Jack tells the fans that he don't need Mr. Rivers' money. We then look backstage where Shannon Skanes is with Ray Dees.

Ray Dees - Shannon, I understand you have an announcement regarding Terror in the Aisles.

Shannon Skanes - You see, tonight's another example of the loss of credibility that this place has.

Ray Dees - How do you mean?

Shannon Skanes - I have been in talks with some people and Terror in the Aisles has to be a grand event, something that people really look forward to and enjoy.

Ray Dees - Well, there's plenty of people who want Jack Spade in the ring.

Shannon Skanes - And there are plenty of people who want to see something unexpected inside that ring.

Ray Dees - How do you promote something unexpected?

Shannon Skanes - We drop hints. The first hint is simple. WWE stole this idea from me years ago. I am taking it back.

Shannon walks off and we head back to the ring.

"Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry blares over the P.A. system as the crowd is on their feet for Tommy Purr. Tommy is marching down to the ring, clearly a man on a mission, and a microphone in hand. Tommy steps into the ring, not even acknowledging the fans.

TOMMY PURR: Cut the damn music!

The music fades out.

TOMMY PURR: I'm going to make this short and sweet, I'm not going to bother trying to get a cheap pop by saying "welcome whatever city we're performing in tonight." I'm too pissed ... I'm too livid ... everyone remembers that Jack Spade beat me for my CWA World Championship ... so everyone should know that, like any respectable former champion, I have a Rematch Clause in my contract ... which means at any time I see fit, I can call for a rematch against Jack for MY title. The problem with that is that there's a thorn in my side distracting me from giving Jack Spade a memorable rematch ... that thorn in my side is Daniel McCoy!

The crowd boos.

TOMMY PURR: I'm not happy that after all I've done for Ebony and Rebella that they've turned on me ... I'm not happy that Hoshi was put through a table because of my actions ... I'm not happy about a lot of things, and I can change that tonight, because Danny, I'm calling you out, face-to-face, one-on-one, bring it you little bitch ... I want you in this ring for a confrontation.

The crowd goes wild as Tommy angrily tosses down the microphone and storms out of the ring and heads backstage.

Ricky Simms - He's not happy.

Henry Lesher - You are the master of observation.

Kira Yakamoto vs. Halloween Jack

"Misery Business" by Paramore plays as Kira Yakamoto steps out onto the stage and she passes by a retreating Tommy Purr, having a few words with him. She then quickly makes her way to ringside and then pulls herself onto the apron before leaping over the top rope into the ring. She then tests the ropes while her music fades and then we hear "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed and Halloween Jack makes his way onto the stage where the crowd greets him with cheers. He smirks as he makes his way down the ramp and looks into the ring at Kira, ready for his second confrontation with Kira for tonight. He pulls himself onto the apron and asks Kira how her head feels.

Ricky Simms - I have a funny feeling that, despite the premise, there will be little in the way of forgiving or forgetting here tonight.

Henry Lesher - Well, no kidding.

Jack steps through the ropes into the ring and referee Casey Braun calls for the bell to get the action officially underway. Jack locks up with Kira, then shoves her into the ropes and then gives her a backdrop to the mat. Jack then gives Kira a knee drop to the forehead and then goes for the early pin. 1...2... kick out by Kira Yakamoto. Jack then stands Kira up, whips her into the corner buckle and then charges in for a shoulder tackle only to take a raised knee to the face from Kira. Kira then climbs to the second rope and gives Jack a clothesline to the mat from there where she takes her shot at an early pin. 1...2... kick out by Halloween Jack.

Ricky Simms - Good action so far here as Jack continues his fight with anyone tied to Garth Rivers.

Henry Lesher - He tossed away money tonight. I think that really represents how he has handled his career to date.

Kira stands Jack up, whips him off the ropes and then dropkicks him back down to the mat. Kira then goes to the ropes and quickly makes her way to the top. She leaps off and lands a somersault leg drop across the chest of Jack before she again goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Halloween Jack. Kira again stands Jack up, whips him off the ropes and misses with a clothesline when he ducks it and then gives her a reverse neck breaker to the mat. Jack then quicklt gets to his feet and starts putting the boots to Kira. Jack then picks her up over his shoulder and gives her a running power slam to the mat. Jack then stands over Kira and indicates to the crowd that he is ready to end this when Mr. Rivers slides into the ring. Jack sees him coming and starts putting the boots to Rivers before he can even get to his feet while Kannon enters the ring before Jack. Kannon delivers a chair shot to the back of the head on Jack while the referee calls for the bell and the crowd boos.

Ricky Simms - There is no forgiving there.

Henry Lesher - If they hit him hard enough, there will be plenty of forgetting, though.

Kannon and Rivers then help Kira from the ring while the referee checks on Jack and we head backstage where Gerard Angelo is with Crystal Braun.

Crystal Braun - Ger, none of us had any idea you would attack the CWA champ and now we want to hear why.

Gerard Angelo - Have you looked at tonight's card? I mean, have you even looked a little? Hoshi, Kira, Halloween Jack, Tommy Purr, 6Pac Dudley, all has beens. Every one of them are nothing and Jack Spade is the king of it. I am worthy of being the CWA champ. I have scaled the mountain twice before.

Crystal Braun - But you could anger people by skipping past them on the contender's list.

Gerard Angelo - You're not paying attention. I am the contender. Look, I paid my dues. I stood by years ago and I'll be damned if I am going to do it again. I am going to be the CWA champ. Tonight, after I beat Jack Spade, he'll have no choice but to give me a title match.

Crystal Braun - There are people who will stand in the way of your shot.

Gerard Angelo - Line them up, Crystal. I will take them all down.

Gerard laughs as he walks off and we head back to the ring.

Bombshell vs. 6Pac Dudley

"Southtown" by POD plays as 6Pac Dudley makes his way out onto the stage, but he is not alone as he and Bombshell are already brawling. Bombshell clotheslines 6Pac to the steel stage and then she gives him a knee drop to the forehead before she starts choking him.

Ricky Simms - These two clearly are not anywhere near reconciling.

Henry Lesher - 6Pac is a freak. He considers this foreplay.

Bombshell releases the choke, stands 6Pac up and then whips him right over the edge of the stage and down to the floor. The crowd cheers the violence as 6Pac struggles to get to his feet while Bombshell struts down the ramp with a grin on her face. She then makes her way around the side of the ramp and heads towards 6Pac. She goes for a clothesline on 6Pac, but he ducks it and then he gives her a drop toe that sends her face first to the floor. 6Pac then places her in an STF and leans back, as we now see a grin on his face. Referee Steve Blake now shows up and has a few words of warning for 6Pac who ignores him.

Ricky Simms - This is simply a fight. This is not a wrestling match.

Henry Lesher - Well, it's just another example of how forgiveness is for the weak.

6Pac finally releases the hold on Bombshell and then stands her up and whips her into the side of the ramp. 6Pac then turns her around and takes a thumb to the eye from Bombshell who then gives 6Pac a low blow and then she places him in a headlock and gives him a bulldog to the floor. She is warned by the referee about her actions and she responds to him with a low blow as well. Bombshell then stands 6Pac up and rams his head into the referee's and then gives 6Pac a clothesline to the floor.

Ricky Simms - That's her opinion on authority figures, I guess.

Henry Lesher - She had better be careful here. I like these tactics.

Bombshell stands 6Pac up and takes a jawbreaker from 6Pac. He then picks her up and runs her face first into the side of the ramp before giving her a slam to the floor. 6Pac then boot chokes her for a few moments before he stands her up and tosses her over the guard railing and out into the crowd. 6Pac then steps over the guard railing and stands Bombshell up and takes another low blow from Bombshell who then picks up a chair and drills it across the head on 6Pac Dudley. We then see security rushing out to split these two up.

Ricky Simms - It doesn't look like this match is even going to happen now.

Henry Lesher - I can thank them for that, but I don't think they are done with one another yet.

As security battles to split these two up, "I'm So Sick" by Flyleaf begins to play as the crowd boos heavily ... Daniel McCoy comes out, dressed in a sharp suit and looking kind of guilty, a bundle of thorny roses in hand. McCoy steps into the ring, which is set up for "Tommy Time" with a television monitor, bar stools, and a rug with Tommy's logo on it. McCoy sits on a stool as his music fades and "Downfall" by Trust Company erupts over the P.A., sending the crowd into a frenzy. Tommy Purr comes out, trailed by Frank Merritt ... McCoy is slightly angry, because he was told this was a one-on-one confrontation. Sex & Violence steps into the ring and Tommy goes nose-to-nose with McCoy, who has risen from his stool. The music fades.

DANIEL McCOY - Why did ya' bring Frank? Ah' thought ya' said this was supposed to be one-on-one?

TOMMY PURR - Frank is here to make sure I don't KILL you in this very ring. I've had it with you Danny ... I just-

DANIEL McCOY - No. Let me just say ... Ah'm sorry.

TOMMY PURR - What?

DANIEL McCOY - Shannon said this was "Forgive & Forget" Week, and, well ...

It's obvious that McCoy is toying with Tommy ... he has something planned.

DANIEL McCOY - These roses are for ya' ... Ah' hope you can forgive me, and Ah' hope you can forgive Frank.

TOMMY PURR - Forgive Frank for what?

DANIEL McCOY - For being the one who brought me here, of course.

A look of confusion passes over Tommy's face as the crowd boos at the realization that Frank Merritt is responsible for Daniel McCoy's presence. Tommy snatches the roses in front of his face from McCoy and turns to angrily face Frank, whose jaw is clenched. McCoy is grinning widely stepping out of the ring slyly ... he has a vendetta against Tommy still, but he's stirred the pot by revealing why he was really brought back.

TOMMY PURR - What's he talking about Frank?

FRANK MERRITT - Look, I didn't want it to come out this way ... it's my fault that McCoy is back.

TOMMY PURR - What are you talking about!?

Tommy is pissed as the crowd chants "asshole, asshole."

FRANK MERRITT - I figured, in order to beat you, I'd need to get inside your head ... I'd need to distract you somehow, someway ... I approached McCoy, got him riled up about getting vengeance on you ... but Tommy, ya' gotta' know something, I didn't realize how much of a fruit loop he was. I didn't send him after you at home, I didn't have him stalk Yvonne ... when I called him off, told him to stop, you know, after we became tag team partners, he didn't listen. By that time, I realized that I had to make things right by fending him off myself.

TOMMY PURR - That's why you've been coming to my defense all this time? Because you felt BAD for unleashing this NUTCASE on me!?

Before Frank can answer, Tommy pelts him in the face with the thorny roses, scratching him open ... Tommy continues pelting him before the roses go everywhere, and begins hitting Frank in the face with closed fists. The crowd is going wild as Tommy goes ballistic, but Frank refuses to fight back, instead trying to back up. Tommy goes crazy and picks up a stool, hurling it at his tag team partner, initially destroying his set trying to knock Frank out. When Tommy tosses the second stool, he clips Frank in the soldier, sending him down to the carpet. Tommy steps out of the ring, microphone in hand, and when Frank gets to his feet, yelling profanities, Tommy smiles broadly, grabbing the ends of the carpet and tugging with all of his strength, sending Frank falling flat on his back to the exposed canvas. The crowd chants Tommy's name as Tommy lifts the microphone.

TOMMY PURR - This week is all about forgive and forget, huh? We'll see about that next week ... because Frank, I'm challenging you to a match next week ... you and me in a GRUDGE MATCH ... in order to defeat McCoy and then move on to reclaiming my title, I need to deal with the man responsible for all of this. YOU! I want your ass in this ring next week! And then we'll really see who the violent portion of our tag team really is!

Tommy throws the mic down and makes his way to the back as the crowd cheers for Tommy and Frank looks enraged in the ring.

Ricky Simms - Next week, these two will battle it out!

Henry Lesher - I cannot describe just how excellent that truly is.

We then look backstage where Dex Cooper is with Ray Dees.

Ray Dees - Dex, I understand you're lacking opponents this week.

Dex Cooper - I cannot believe what's happening here! We are either fighting little girls or we get cowards who don't show up! I am tired of this!

Ray Dees - What can you do?

Dex Cooper - We can start getting people's attention. We can start stirring the pot. We are the CWA tag team champions and we have earned our respect.

Ray Dees - You don't feel respected?

Dex Cooper - I feel cheated tonight because I cannot perform my magic in front of those fans. Rex and I were going to tear that cowboy and whatever he dug up for a partner to pieces. Now, we declare war on anyone who wants to face us!

Ray Dees - War?

Dex Cooper - You heard me. I said war. NADP will be everyone's worst nightmare.

He storms off and we head back to the ring.

Gerard Angelo vs. Jack Spade

"Failure By Designer Jeans" by From First To Last plays as Gerard Angelo steps out onto the stage, the crowd greeting him with the loudest boos of the night. He pays the crowd no mind as he marches down towards the ring and then he rolls himself under the bottom rope into the ring where he then poses for the crowd, though they don't sound appreciative. Gerard then does a few jumping jacks while his music fades and then we hear "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne and Jack Spade comes out to the loudest cheers we have heard so far tonight. He holds the CWA title belt high above his head and holds it towards the camera, a smile on his face. He then rushes down the ramp, makes his way around the ring and tosses the title belt to the time keeper and then he pulls himself onto the apron. He has a few words with Gerard before he steps through the ropes into the ring and referee Mark Davis calls for the bell to get things started.

Ricky Simms - The title is not on the line as these two face each other.

Henry Lesher - Jack's a coward, a paper champion. I am in complete agreement with Angelo on that one.

The two men lock up. Gerard shoves Jack into the corner buckle and then gives him a series of kicks to the chest. Jack then reverses spots with Gerard and starts giving him kicks to the chest. Jack then whips Gerard to the opposite corner buckle and then gives him a backdrop to the mat from there. Jack then lands a leg drop across the throat on Gerard and goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Gerard Angelo. Jack stands Gerard up, whips him off the ropes and misses with a clothesline when Gerard ducks it and then gives Jack a whip through the ropes and out to the floor. Gerard then drops and rolls himself out to the floor.

Ricky Simms - This is going to be another fight.

Henry Lesher - I sure hope so. Nothing makes Valentine's Day great except a fight.

Gerard stands Jack up, then whips him shoulder first into the steel corner post. He then picks Jack up and slams him to the floor and then gives him a knee drop to the forehead. Gerard then stands Jack up and rolls him into the ring before rolling himself into the ring. Gerard then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Jack Spade and Gerard has a few words for the referee. Gerard then stands Jack up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a series of shoulder blocks there before he whips him hard into the opposite buckle. Jack staggers out of the corner and then does a face plant to the mat. Gerard Angelo then applauds himself and bows before the booing crowd, telling us that this is why he is the next champion.

Ricky Simms - Gerard's ego has actually grown during his time away.

Henry Lesher - Hey, it's not his fault the roster here can't do this.

Gerard stands Jack up, whips him off the ropes and misses with a clothesline. Jack then jumps over Gerard and gives him a backslide into a pin attempt. 1...2...3! Jack Spade gets the quick win over a shocked Gerard Angelo! Jack then rolls himself out of the ring to the floor. and raises his hands in victory while a still stunned Gerard gets to his feet inside the ring. He shakes his head and then launches himself over the top rope to the floor where he lands on Jack Spade, bringing him down and raining down punches to the head on the CWA champion. Gerard then whips Jack over the guard railing into the front row of the crowd and then storms off, his arms raised. He tells the camera that he is going to be the next CWA champion.

Ricky Simms - It would appear that Gerard Angelo has not seen the last of Jack Spade and vice versa.

Henry Lesher - If Spade is smart, he'll duck him like he ducks all real wrestlers.

As Gerard makes his way up the ramp, we look backstage where 6Pac Dudley is with Ray Dees.

Ray Dees - That was quite the brawl you had with Yvonne tonight.

6Pac Dudley - I am not done with her! I am declaring that my title belt, my Aerial title, will be on the line at Terror In the Aisles against Bombshell and the match will be falls count anywhere! You got that?

Ray Dees - That could become really ugly.

6Pac Dudley - I damned well hope so. I didn't sign with the CWA to play nice.

6Pac exits the shot and we head back to the ring.

Daniel McCoy vs. Hoshi Yakamoto

"I'm So Sick" by Flyleaf starts to play as Daniel McCoy steps out onto the stage and the crowd greets him with a mixed reaction based on what they saw earlier tonight. He heads down the ramp towards the ring and then pulls himself onto the apron before stepping through the ropes into the ring. He then tests the ropes while his music fades and we hear "Poundcake" by Van Halen and Hoshi Yakamoto starts to make her way towards the ring while the crowd cheers her on.

Ricky Simms - This should make for an interesting main event.

Henry Lesher - No it shouldn't.

Hoshi pulls herself onto the apron and ducks a clothesline from Daniel McCoy and then she jumps onto the top rope, leaps off and gives McCoy a head scissors take down to the mat while referee Casey Braun calls for the bell to get the action officially underway. Hoshi releases McCoy, stands him up and whips him off the ropes before giving him a round house kick to the chest that sends him back down to the mat where she tries for the quick pin. 1...2... kick out by Daniel McCoy. Hoshi then stands Daniel up, whips him off the ropes and both wrestlers clothesline one another to the mat, causing the referee to start counting them both down. On the three count, McCoy kips up to his feet, while Hoshi then does the same a moment later.

Ricky Simms - The action is quick in this one.

Henry Lesher - Just make it over quick, for the love of God.

Hoshi and McCoy lock up. McCoy then backs Hoshi into the ropes where the referee asks for a clean break. McCoy takes a step back and then lands a series of rights and lefts on Hoshi rather than make a clean break. McCoy then eye gouges Hoshi along the top rope and then whips her off the ropes and then gives her a clothesline to the mat. Daniel then lands a leg drop across the chest on Hoshi before going for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Hoshi Yakamoto. Daniel then stands Hoshi up, whips her off the ropes and misses with a clothesline before Hoshi then gives Daniel a kick to the chest and then gives him a clothesline to the mat. Hoshi then lands a somersault leg drop onto the chest of Daniel before she goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Daniel McCoy.

Ricky Simms - The back and forth action continues here.

Henry Lesher - Oh like we care.

Hoshi stands Daniel up, whips him off the ropes and then gives him a backdrop to the mat before she goes to the ropes in the corner. Hoshi climbs to the top and goes for a somersault splash onto Daniel, but he rolls out of the way. Instead of crashing and burning, Hoshi manages to land on her feet and then she lands a standing Perfect 10 on a shocked Daniel McCoy before hooking the leg for the pin. 1...2...3! Hoshi pulls off an impressive win tonight.

Ricky Simms - Nice momentum builder for Hoshi.

Henry Lesher - No one cares.

Hoshi leaves the ring with her arms raised and starts making her way up the ramp while the crowd cheers. Inside the ring, Daniel McCoy argues it was a fast count to no avail. We fade to black on a shot of the victorious Hoshi.
