Real Name: Michael Johnson
I have a chance to see him before Apocalypse in a six man tag. Unfortunately I found myself on the special needs team but that won’t deter me from beating Silkk senseless. Hell, nothing will. He has been nothing but disrespectful to me, my father, and everything I’ve done since I stepped foot in SCW. He takes credit for everything I have ever done as if he tied up his boots and stepped in the ring for me. All he did was extended his hand, I grabbed it, and it brought me from Majestic to SCW. I repaid him the favor by making Syndicate look half-decent. So he can kill the argument about he made me. I made me; he just took credit for it. So a man gives you a dollar, next week you’re a millionaire, you’re going to give that man half? No. There is help and then there is real contribution. Silkk contributed nothing to my career and I’ll show it by beating him at Apocalypse. Blood, sweat, and everything will be spread out in that ring when the match comes to a close. No surprise there but whose coming out on top in this one?
Location: Chicago, IL
Scenes open to MJ walking through backstage after having talked with Anthony about the match. MJ knew it was wrong for him to have cut Anthony off when talking about Holly but he couldn’t deal with someone else’s drama. He had his own. He had to get himself prepared to face someone who he had dealt with in the past year. Someone who has shared the nearly the same accomplishments as him. Both were well respected Majestic Champions and both have held SCW gold with Junior holding his currently. It was something that stalked him. Usually he would accomplish something Silkk had already accomplished but go a step further and accomplish another thing. It was like every time he would out-do him. He wondered if that was the true reason behind Silkk’s attack. He couldn’t call MJ a mini version of him like he did to Shyne because no matter what situation, MJ had always out-did him. MJ didn’t know what to think because Silkk would just hide his real thoughts with gangster bullshit.
Then again Silkk would act tough whenever there was a problem. He always finds fault with someone, even if he likes them, when it suits him. If it is in his best interest to talk shit about someone’s father even if the man helped him many years ago, he does it. He only cares about himself. A scavenger. The kind of person you can’t keep your kids around or he’d sell them into a prostitution ring in a heartbeat. Maybe it was that same aggression that made MJ gravitate toward him when MJ was young. A naïve young black male seeing an older one show off and act like he’s a boss. Any boy would immediately want to be around that “man”. I use the term “man” loosely because Silkk doesn’t define a man. He doesn’t take care of his business, he does not support his loved ones. He is still just a child in a man’s body. His state of mind is that of an eight year old. Yet it was too late to turn his mind set around so MJ would just have to beat one simple lesson into Carrington’s thick skull…
Shorty Jr. has been, is, and will forever be better than Michael Carrington.
Ask anyone. You want to talk accomplishments, more accomplished. Want to talk about who has pinned who, Junior has upped him on that one. These were just the facts of life. MJ felt this way. Cocky, supposedly but that’s how he felt. Carrington had his chance at Rise to Greatness to shine but he didn’t. He dropped the ball. He lost and claimed there were two other people in the match. But here it was, lock and load time. There was no “well this happened” this time around. ENCLOSED WITHIN STEEL. That was the case and there will be no excuses and running around this time. No cheap shots, no run-ins, it was two men taking each other to the very brink and Junior could not wait for the moment to arrive. He has wanted this day to happen for awhile. He wanted to know within his own heart that he could defeat Carrington and settle it once and for all. Don’t be mistaken, it is not only the fans asking if Junior has what it takes. It’s he, himself, asking that question too. He had to answer at Apocalypse.
He wanted to get some Chinese food and head back to the hotel. Stretch out a little and keep himself warm before his match came. As he got into his Chrysler 300, he wondered about Anthony. He noticed Anthony had been stressing a lot lately. He was worried about him. He didn’t want Anthony to sink into a depression. I guess winning gold doesn’t get everyone out of the rut. But he had a little bit of happiness when he won so that was nice to see a smile on the big man’s face once in awhile. MJ reversed back and drove off. He thought about his match as he began driving to a popular area within Chicago. Silkk was fortunate this week…very fortunate. He was going to be on the side of the most dominant tag team while MJ would be stuck with the ass-licking extensions of Greg Cherry himself. They weren’t their own people; they were extensions of Greg Cherry. Cherry Jr.’s if you must. Depressing, really but what can you do. MJ began to talk as he waited in traffic.
Shorty Jr.: Listen I’m going to make it as blunt as possible. I’m fucked. I’m stuck with two dumbasses who shockingly haven’t forgotten how to breathe or walk. I wish they would forget both but you know l’m not so lucky. Yet it doesn’t mean I will give up or not wrestle. If I’m going down with these two clowns, I’m going down fighting. Some people have “standards” where they won’t do their best if they know they won’t succeed. That’s not my style, ask Hudson. I fought with him to the bitter end when there were people who doubted I could last two minutes in the ring with him. What happened? A draw. You can say “oh well you didn’t win” but I tell you what, I didn’t lose either. The fact still remains regardless whether my father’s friend and his tag partner is on the other side, I will not be taking it easy. I won’t destroy them because, as champions, we still have to make sure we all get to Apocalypse with a clean bill of health. Don’t take my thoughtfulness as weakness though.
I will plan to take it to Carrington. Soften him up. I will destroy him up to a point that come Apocalypse with a few hits and the All-Star slam will make his world CRUMBLE. I wonder what excuse Carrington will think of after Apocalypse when we check our bodies at the door and he is left in the ring lifeless with blood pouring from various parts of his head. Let me guess, he will run away from SCW again and then come back and tell us all to “respect his reputation”. I’m amused at his delusion. He thinks SCW is the streets. Any fool can shoot another person, it is a strategic intelligent manipulative son of a bitch who could have made it this far in wrestling. What does Silkk do besides run around like a twelve-year old claiming to be great when you look back at his history he has been beaten by Miller…what six or seven times now? Silkk will forever be stuck in the rut he is in because he is nothing. Has been nothing, is nothing, will forever be a nothing because I am the something he wishes to be.
Hudson and Glacier know that I respect them but a match is a match. I will take it to them like they take it to me. We are paid to put on a wrestling clinic every week and that’s just what I plan to do. Could you imagine if everyone had this “oh I’ll take it easy on you, bud” attitude? We would all end up as ballerinas or in gay porn because wrestling is competitive sport. Hudson might not like the egos and gimmicks that come along with this but it is a part of the territory. You get the big mansion and the nice car for a reason. To put up with the fans, to put up with other wrestlers, and to put up with all the pain and suffering you will go through as a wrestling entertainer. The day you feel like you don’t want to deal with it, the exit door is only a few steps away from the ramp. I respect Hudson but what started as a legitimate claim that things in SCW have gotten beyond ridiculous now sounds like ever-lasting whining. As far as Glacier goes, we can fight until the end of the year and still eat dinner at the same table.
It was the truth. MJ and Anthony have verbally fought, physically fought, had a war of the minds, and have been at each other’s neck when emotions flared. Even though it was a six man coming up, all MJ could think about was that one-on-one in a steel cage. It would be his first interim title defense and he didn’t plan to make it his last. He found himself wanting to destroy Carrington long before Apocalypse came. The feeling had subsided after Rise to Greatness but like a bad itch it was back again. MJ would love nothing more to put Carrington out of action. Out of sight, out of mind. It wouldn’t be easy but it wouldn’t be the hardest thing he has had to do. If he could deal with angry Majestic fans wishing he wasn’t champion even though a week before they cheered him on, he could certainly deal with one angry guy from the hood or so he thought. He pulled up to the Chinese restaurant’s parking lot and parked as scenes faded away to black.
