Dear Journal,
One more in the win column, they say. But at Highway to Hell I didn’t just win a match. I won something more important than any three count pin-fall could give me. I won a measure of retribution for myself and most importantly, for Glacier. He feels a little better; he couldn’t watch the match though. He said he felt there were too many emotions and things left unsolved to sit there in front of a television and watch someone else destroy Davis. To me, that sounds like he might be making his in-ring debut sooner than most imagined but it could also mean he just isn’t ready to deal with SCW at all right now. I watched his body movements, when we talked a day after the match. He seemed more relaxed and even spoke as though he lost his edginess. I didn’t see many empty beers this time around, it seems like things are getting better. If destroying those who wronged Glacier means my dad gets his friend back and I get back my mentor than I’ll be more than glad to continue this journey.

It’s a journey, honestly. Albeit, it is a tough road to pave when going up against guys like Hudson and Davis, to me it is well worth it. To know my friends and family are more at peace when I beat my opponents makes taking a fist or a chair shot mean something. I’m not the type of guy to do things in vain. When I go out to the ring, I make it worth my time and the time of the fans that have come to see me carve out another chapter in this long life story of mine. That’s just who I am and another step in this story leads me, once again, at the doorstep of Josh Hudson. I met him before in a SCW Championship match at The End of the Year show two years ago. Our match ended in a tie which would obviously meant Hudson kept the title. As heart breaking as it may have sound, it was just for the better it seems. I look back at myself and saw an emotional immature little boy pretending to be a man, a title opportunity that came too early. It’s been over a year now; let’s just say Hudson isn’t on top anymore.

Location: Home, New York
Scenes open as there is rustling underneath the comforter and blankets. It stops for a second then continued. The room has a poster on the wall behind the bed head of a guy holding up a trophy and a belt. With closer inspection, it a poster picture of Shorty Junior winning the God of Wrestling tournament trophy and Majestic Championship with Adam Allocco clapping right next to him. That night he learned an important lesson about wrestling, there is no honor among sore losers and envious competitors. It was a lesson that held true for both Junior and Glacier as they received the bad endings from their friends. Whether it was Syndicate destroying itself inside to out or Davis and Hudson giving Glacier a humiliating beat down...it was disloyalty and jealousy that brought both worlds to a self-destructive end. Suddenly a hand comes out from under the layers of warm quilt and pushes them downwards. Junior looked tired and sighed. He looked over as he heard knocking on his door.

MJ: Come in.

Shorty: Hey, big man. Breakfast is ready and someone is here to see you.

MJ: Who?

Shorty: Get out of bed and take a look for yourself.

Admittedly, Junior wasn’t in the mood for surprises but he had to eat breakfast so there was no way in avoiding. He just hoped whatever this person had to say would be short and sweet so he could head to the gym and continue to build on his endurance. With the added muscle gain, he lost certain priceless attributes when he was smaller like speed and stamina. He wanted to gain them back while keeping the same muscle mass he had. He slipped out from underneath the covers and grabbed a shirt from his drawer. Junior puts it on as he heads out his bedroom door. He takes a quick look to see it was Hazel. They had separated a couple of months ago as Hazel found it more increasingly difficult to be with Junior when he was in Jamaica. It was mutual as Junior couldn’t take the five to six calls a day asking him where he was. He wondered what she wanted now. He heads over to her and gives her a friendly hug. They both take a seat in the living room.

MJ: So what’s going on with you nowadays?

Hazel: Nothing much, just finding out through national television that you’re back in town and wrestling.

MJ: Eh, sorry about that. I kind of wanted to keep things under wrap as much as possible for my return at Highway to Hell.

Hazel: Uh-huh.

MJ: What?

Hazel: I’m not even going to speak on it. I didn’t come to argue with you, MJ.

MJ: Then why are you here?

Hazel: I wanted to wish you good luck in your career because it seems like it holds more precedence than me so it must mean a lot.

MJ: It doesn’t…it didn’t.

Hazel: Saying and doing are two different things.

MJ: What’s that suppose to mean? You meant more to me than stepping in that ring.

Hazel: What’s currently in existence: Your career or our relationship?

He shook his head and put his head in his hands. Why does she always do this to him? When he least expected it, she would jump into his life and leave him torn. The women in his life seem to ruin him at every turn. Then again he didn’t have many in his life, still. It was just her and she proceeded to be the headache he couldn’t get rid of, time and time again. What was the purpose of her even coming over here and starting this shit now? He had an important match coming up and all she could do was come in and bring age old crap up. They were done months ago and now she has it out for him, I suppose revenge for not being a good boyfriend and checking up on her while he was in Jamaica. She couldn’t leave this until AFTER he gets a hold of Lawler? It’s always something…always something in his life that continues to pop up making what should be an easy ride the most traumatic experience of his life. He looked up at her.

MJ: We broke up months ago; there is no point in you coming over here to make me feel bad about it.

Hazel: That wasn’t my intention; I didn’t say a single thing to make you feel bad. If you feel bad, that is you and your guilty conscience alone.

MJ: You know what? Just stop that. Stop the whole mind game crap already. I’m too old for that shit.

Hazel: You’re nineteen, MJ you attempt to make yourself sound as if you’re forty. That’s the problem; your perspective is far off for someone your age.

MJ: What? You switched your subjects to Psychology now?

Hazel: Stop avoiding the subject with smart ass comebacks because they aren’t going to work. I want some answers, MJ.

MJ: How about some questions first?

Hazel: Why? Why did you treat me so badly while in Jamaica? How come I could barely get in contact with you? Why did you even bother to return back to New York? When you returned, why didn’t you let me know you were in town? What did I ever do to you to deserve this treatment? I’ve been nothing less than a good girlfriend to you and this is how you return the favor?

MJ: It wasn’t you. Okay? You didn’t deserve any of this; it’s just how it turned out. I was there for college and things didn’t work out so I headed back up here and like I said before I was trying to keep my return to New York under wraps until Highway to Hell.

Hazel: MJ, just how it turned out?

MJ: What do you want me to tell you?

She got up with handbag in hand and walked out. MJ just watched her, helplessly. He saw a tear fall from eye before she left. You know that feeling of emptiness and weak legs as if they are about to give out on you? It was happening to MJ. He wanted to run after her and hold her. He wanted to tell her he loved her and will be a better man but he knew he would just be lying. There were unresolved things in his career he had to settle in the ring before he could ever turn around and let her know that he would be there with her for the rest of his life. His father had been watching the whole time and took a seat next to him. You could sense that he was slightly concerned about it but also at the same time had to stand at a distance being able to do nothing as his son was an adult and had to figure out how to deal with those he loved. MJ leaned over, once again putting his head in his hands, completely frustrated about what to do. Shorty patted him on the back.

Shorty: I know you’re not happy and I’m sure you don’t want to hear another word out of another person but you have to give her and yourself some time to grow. She’s right, you are relatively young – both of you are, in fact. I’ve seen how much hell you’re life has been since you signed to Majestic. You’ve been through so much and it worries all of us, even Glacier. A boy your age is supposed to be in college, studying and hanging out with his friends. You choose to live what you love but what you love includes a difficult tour schedule, continuous training, and just an overall hard life. The human body was never meant to go through the rigorous schedule that SCW has you on and yet every week you come out and give your all. There is no question that the talent you possess as such a young age is a rare gift but I wonder if you are going to blow it all to hell trying to fight Glacier’s enemies and your own. I know you’re trying to do all the right things and it seems to blow back in your face. I think you need a break.

Shorty Junior: I don’t need a break. What I need right now is snap Hudson in half, tell Hazel I’m the only man she needs in her life and be the United States Champion. That’s what I need right now.

Shorty: How realistic are your needs?

Shorty Junior: Realistic enough that I’m going to do what it takes to make them possible. I don’t think you realize my plans for 2009. This isn’t just me coming back to SCW; this is me making a definite plan to rise to the top. I have an actual goal; I don’t plan to wander around aimlessly fighting former Adrenaline and Underground champions until someone sees potential in me. I’m done doing that. I want in.

Shorty: In what?

Shorty Junior: I want in the Elimination Chambers, I want in the No Disqualification matches, I want in the Contendership matches. I want in EVERYTHING that fans will talk about until they are laying in their death beds.

Shorty: You know that it’s all about proving that your worth, you’ve dropped the ball a couple of times in your career when people thought you would come out on top.

Shorty Junior: I know. I know. I just need to prove it to myself that I am more than just a talented kid; I want to know if I want something that I can get it. I want to know my determination is as good if not better than my in-ring skills. I need to know these people that wronged me and Glacier are no longer going to be an issue whenever I step in the ring. I don’t want to look over my back; assuming someone is coming to finish the job and put all of us out of action for good. I want to see Glacier back to his normal self, also. I have to beat Hudson now. I can’t afford a draw or loss, Hudson might have not stolen Glacier’s title but he set him up and that to me is worse than the actual attack on Glacier. Without Glacier, no one would pay Hudson squat shit attention when he returned. Glacier MADE others pay attention to him when they teamed up and won the titles. Glacier made both Hudson and Davis just a bit more successful and this is how they repay him?

I couldn’t…I mean no one could have seen that coming. I couldn’t imagine in a million years, after all Glacier has done for those two, they turn around and stabbed him in the back. When you see others who act like that, you have to question your faith in humanity and your fellow brother. How does someone turn around and betray the single most helpful person in their lives and not even feel the slightest remorse for it? How can a person go on like that? I couldn’t sleep the night that I All-Star slammed Glacier on the mat. It was for my own selfish greed and it ate me alive. Maybe I’m the naïve, idiotic one here. Maybe I’m the one who doesn’t see betrayal as a good opportunity. It’s either that or I’m one of the only sane people that can say that some people have absolutely no heart. What Hudson did to Glacier was unthinkable after Glacier bent over backwards to do everything for him. Glacier moved in with him, Glacier talked to him about his relationship problems while having his own.

He could have kept to himself and Holly, not paid Hudson a damn bit of attention but he went out of his way to look out for both Davis and Hudson. This is where it ends? Hudson being the mastermind behind the attack of Glacier and the theft of his tag team belt? Is that it? After all the talks, after all the shit they went through that’s where it ends? That’s what you call an ending to an undefeated tag team? I respected Hudson more than any man on roster and now he’s left such a bitter taste in my mouth. How am I not surprised, though? He’s just another corrupted for SCW Champion, hell bound on returning to the top. Fellow wrestlers don’t believe me when I say it but it’s true…the SCW Championship does something to your mind set and leaves you changed for the rest of your life. A belt with such a tainted past, held by tainted people, it’s no surprise that it changed Hudson for the worst. A bitter and decaying shell of his former self, Hudson will pay for his actions and that much I can promise.

Shorty nodded. MJ didn’t even bother to mention the fact Davis turned on Hudson, it was expected. If Hudson didn’t see that coming, he is blinder than MJ thought. Davis is a rat, a coward and it was only a matter of time before that event took place. When things start looking bad, Davis will do the same to Asher and Rachel, because that is what Davis does. He is a leech, sucking out the life form of any wrestler who crosses his path. He doesn’t matter now; MJ already put him to shame. It was Hudson who he was after; he could imagine those soul-less eyes staring him down the way he stared Glacier down before ending him. Hudson was no Davis and it was no secret Hudson is the better of the two, even when he teamed with Glacier he was the better one. MJ couldn’t deny that but he also couldn’t deny the fact it that his disappointment in Hudson made looking at him as an opponent hard. He rather looked at Hudson as everything that was wrong with SCW and wanted him gone. Scenes fade.
