Props & Flops - Ash Axiom

Summer Sizzler Review

Welcome to another edition of Props & Flops - the only EUWC column for the misinformed, misunderstood, and mis-educated. Today, we will take a look at the EUWC's latest pay-per-view offering, Summer Sizzler.

We started off the night with The Salvation vs The Noblemen. Strong performance by TTT and Santana pulling off the victory. They've just started their way up the ladder in the tag team division. The Revolution punked out the Noblemen. Should be interesting to see what develops from that.

Then we had the retirement match between Sevyn and Donny Collins. Sevyn won meaning we've seen the end of Donny Collins. But with the build up - or lack thereof - to this match. I wonder how many people actually care.

Backstage, Greer faked an injury in order to weasel out of his title defense against Paul Doom later in the night. Pickstock didn't but it and told Greer he would have to defend the title. Greer then threatened to walk out of the EUWC with the World Heavyweight Championship belt unless Pickstock paid him $50,000.

Next up was the Battle Royale for the vacant EUWC European Championship. T Waring pulled off the well deserved win and was crowned champion. But honourable mentions go to T.T. McGraw and Lt. Hawkeye. Waring's title defenses won't be easy if these two are given a one-on-one shot. BTW the term "Battle Royale" started in France. Do you know what they call a "Battle Royale" in America? A multi-man-over-the-top-rope-challenge with cheese.

Next, we had the Bare Necessities Match between Kelly Evans and Echo. Kelly Evans won thanks to outside interference from Team Danger. Congrats to Evans for getting the up on her nemesis but I question the need of two men in order to win a glorified Bra & Panties Match.

The inaugrual "Sunday Nero Live" was great. Nero showed his true talents as an entertaining personality on the mic. His first guest was himself and he proceeded to bring the crowd to tears with laughter. Then he brought out EUWC President Matt Pickstock who just brought the crowd to tears. Hey, he runs the show and signs the checks but nothing really showstopping was said here. Great segment and a true highlight of the show. Can't wait for the next episode.

The International Title match was next and once again, Rocko Daymon got screwed out of the title he deserves so much. Samuel Roundtree interfered allowing "The Black Jesus" to keep the strap. You're hearing it first here folks, Rocko will eventually either tear Walker a new one or he will find greener pastures where his talent isn't overlooked.

Next up was the United States Championship Houdini Cage Match. Samuel Roundtree and Mike C had one hell of a hellacious battle inside the cage. But in true Team Danger form, Walker came out to help Roundtree keep the belt by coming through the ring. It was announced on Main Frame that Roundtree has challenged Mike to an Empty Arena Match at Ultra Brawl. Roundtree also announced that he was done with Team Danger. It will be interesting to see if Samuel can pull out a win without TD's help.

The Number 1 Contendership was on the line next as Jay Smash took on Danny Collins and Angel of Death in a Triple Threat I Quit match. Hell had no furry then the hell that came from this match. In the end, all three men were beaten up, bloodied, and carted off to the hospital. The match was a declared a draw.

Then, the mystery tag team shows up in a limo and Staci Seymore tries to get a scoop but Pickstock kicks her out and makes everyone wait to find out who has just arrived.

Backstage, Kandi Reed delivers the $50,000 to the Team Danger locker room guaranteeing a World Heavyweight title match. I'll tell ya. That delivery couldn't have been made soon enough.

In the Anahiem Hospital (there's only one in that huge city) we find out that Smash, Collins, and AOD were in cahoots the whole time. Good swerve.

The World Heavyweight Championship match was next and Paul Doom makes his way to ringside. Everyone awaits Greer's entrance but all of a sudden . . . IT'S MORPHIN TIME!!!! That's right. Zordon and Alpha unleashed their unholy terror on the EUWC in the form of the powerful GREEN RANGER. Oh wait . . . no it's just Stephen Greer - the EUWC World Champion and carrier of the EUWC brand of wrestling - dressed in full Green Ranger garb. Good to see he's taking this whole "being World Champion" thing seriously. At least we now know why he needed $50,000 to compete that night. In the end, Walker, Roundtree, Eric Dane, Rocko, DDS, and xXx would interfere giving the ref no choice but to throw the match out.

This would prompt Pickstock to come out and and immediately start the Tag Team title match. Team Danger and Fire & Ice were introduced to their mystery opponents - STEALTH and Jordan Lockhart. The crowd went nuts. I mean it. They went absolutely bonkers. So bonkers, in fact, that the planet actually shook! Go back and check for yourself. The "Ultimate Team" pulled off the win and took the straps ending Team Danger's reign on the tag team division. At least for now. EUWC wrestlers paraded STEALTH and Lockhart around the ring as Sizzler went off the air.
Props & Flops Meter Rating - 10

The meter averages out to just over a 70% rating. It's kinda low considering what actually happened. Definately the EUWC's best PPV in a long time. Should be great to see what's coming up next with Ultra Brawl, The Chad Dupree Memorial tournament, and the LCW Reunion Show coming up. It's bound to get even better for the EUWC and remember, I'm watching.
