a little note...
Well that was rather disappointing. Her first card in a new company, let alone a new country altogether, and she loses not once, but twice. Of course Yamada is beyond upset. His mealticket is failing him, and in Japan, that's not only disgraceful, it's simply not done or acceptable. Let's hope this week is better, hm? Those 'American boys' are looking better by the day, aren't they, Yamada-san?Redemption?
YAMADA: I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU, SASAKI! YOU HAVE A CHANCE AT GOLD HERE, AND YOU FAIL NOT ONLY ONCE, BUT TWICE! HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THIS?! DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY FOR YOURSELF?!MINAKO: (Near tears) (Translated) I don't know what happened, Yamada-san! I thought for sure that I would win! I don't understand it!
YAMADA: Well you obviously over-estimated your abilities, didn't you? I do know what happened.. YOU FAILED! You failed yourself, you failed me, and you failed Japan. Are you certain you graduated the puroresu school, or did you sleep through all of the classes?
MINAKO: (Translated) I did graduate! I was one of the best, I swear! They said as much!
YAMADA: Then they obviously got thier teachers from the streets, because they had no idea what they were talking about when they said that. (Sighs heavily) Now.. will you do better this week, or will you no doubt fail again?
MINAKO: (Translated) I'll do better, I promise! I have a match this week against Adam Peirce. I can beat him.. I know I can. Please, just give me another chance, Yamada-san!
YAMADA: Fine, fine.. another chance.. but screw this up, and not even the gods will be able to save you.
He goes to leave the room, but turns back to her.
YAMADA: And if I were you, I'd keep away from those two American guys.. Sage and Twain. Their IQ doesn't exactly give off the impression that they're geniuses. Last week, they stuck thier noses into something that didn't concern them and I don't want it happening again. Understood?
MINAKO: (Translated) Of course, Yamada-san.
He finally leaves the room, allowing her to record her promo as best she can since she knows little to no English. Hopefully editing will put subtitles.. or something.
MINAKO: (Translated) This weekend, I will face a man who will not be very happy at all. Adam Peirce.. a man who lost to someone due to the actions of another person. That is less than honorable for the masked person, but I am certain that he or she is not very worried about honor if they will hit a woman who hasn't done anything to them that we are aware of. Since we do not know who this person is, we cannot say for sure if they have been done wrong by either person. We will simply have to wait and see what this situation brings us until we can figure it out.
Adam.. I have nothing against you at all. Not because you have done nothing to me, but because I don't know you at all. All I know of you is what you have said to Nikki Cornett, and none of it applies to me in the least. I have nothing to throw back at you because you have said nothing. Could it be that you are afraid of women now? Your match with the other woman ended in disaster and failure.. are you thinking that yours against me will as well? I assure you, I have nobody working for or with me aside from Yamada-san. He is a very sharp businessman, but he will not interfere.
I do, however, wish you luck. It is only right and respectable to do so. I may be outmatched in many ways come this Sunday, but to me, it does not matter. Yamada-san is the only one it will matter to, if it matters to anyone at all. Regardless, I will do my best to regain the honor I lost for myself, Yamada-san, and our country due to my losses last week, no matter what it takes from me. (She bows slightly.) May the gods themselves be with you.
She leaves the room following what has to be the most odd promo ever from anyone in the business. The scene fades to black, leaving the audience - both at home and in the stands - undoubtedly going 'wtf?'
